Very cool community space with a wide assortment of beverages and bar food. We came to watch the World Cup and there was plenty of seating and good vibes. Service was helpful and friendly and the beers ranged from classic to adventurous (like a dill or wild lacto strawberry). It's a bit off the main drag so parking was easy.

This bar has become a staple! From fun theme nights to excellent brews- this is a great little brewery. While the service can lean a bit slow, the taste of everything makes up for it. I was there on a Tuesday for loteria night and they had amazing chocoflan for sale as well. The loteria was fast paced, fun to play, and had TONS of prizes. They host magic the gathering night on Thursdays where you can play others or your own group as well. They have a great selection of beer and awesome smash burgers! If you are going for the burgers- note that on days they have pop up vendors (check instagram) they will not serve their typical menu. I look forward to returning for more events.

Tacos are AMAZING here. They are made fresh and hot. Be careful not to burn your tongue. The cheese is crispy and pan-fried to the tortilla. They give you a lot of the ingredients so it's hard to fold it and eat it. Get a fork! It spills out on your plate. The sauces that come with it adds that kick and extra flavor. I personally like the steak better than the chicken, but both are still good. Their smash burger is good too and it's a double patty. It's more on the salty side so make sure you get that drink on the side! I had the honey water and it tastes like kombucha. I had the Korean roasted barley drink which was very unique and different. I'm use to drinking the flavor as a hot tea so having it in a sparkling beverage form blew my mind bc it was so different. Not sure how I feel about it tbh.

We stopped in for a quick drink before heading out of Chicago. We are happy we did. I got a michalittle and he got a few tastes of beer. We ordered the burger and it had grilled cheese on it. It was super cheesy and full of flavor. The double smash burger was filling and great for the price. It comes with fries and they taste just like McDonalds fries, we loved them! I wish we had found this place sooner or lived in Chicago. We would be regulars!

The okc smashburger with an extra patty, added bacon. Excuse the messy counter in the background, it's my cousins haha

Really good brewery, great for drinks, great for the burgers, great for hanging out with a group of friends or family. The interior is nicely decorated with its own unique flair, oval shaped bar and nice custom wood feature above the middle of it. There's some TVs for games, a big pull down screen too. They have a nice glass area to see where they make the beers and also have a little store front with beers and merch to buy. Service is always great, attentive and friendly. The okc smash is great, I just wish they made a sauce for it, it's got a great crust on the smash and taste great. I was hungry so I added another patty and bacon because sometimes it be like that. They serve a wide variety of brews they make, cocktails (the manhattan is pretty good), and thc drinks. I've been a decent amount of times and will be going again.

Went during Oktoberfest and got to witness a hilarious polish sausage eating contest and sampled some brats. I can't say I loved the sausage because the kimchi it came with tasted alittle off but I did love the potato salad. When it comes to the beers I love their huge variety including THC drinks. THEY ARE DELICIOUS. Would recommend the Half and Half.

I brought my mom here after a trip to zap props, and we were impressed with the overall atmosphere and food. I don't love ordering at the bar, but the folks working there were very helpful and kind. The beer was good, and we also got some loaded fries, a shrimp, quesadilla, and a Smashburger. Everything was very tasty. There were lots of little kids and babies there, which I appreciate because it can be difficult to find kid friendly places sometimes. Would definitely go back!

Everything was good, I didn't know how delicious crusted cheese was we ordered the fries the bar drinks were light but good hop & honey water tasted like sparkling water with honey literally sublime fries 10/10 no complaints.. i would suggest the salsa in the bar there is adequate street parking we dined in but ordered at the bar and food was brought to our table. a server didn't come to us..

Ambiance - super cool interior, bar in middle, lots of tables, they have themed nights (Thursday is karaoke night) Service - order at the bar and staff brings food to your table Food - smashburger is a must get (love how crispy the edges were), the protein for the tacos were a bit dry

I already love the vibe of this place and all of their unique craft beer selections, but tried their food for the first time, specifically their smash burger and it was DELICIOUS.

Marz Brewery makes the most savory comfort food. From their gourmet ooey gooey cheesy smashburger to their cheesy fried tacos, everything here is the PERFECT weekend treat after a hard week of work, you know what I'm saying? Although you can definitely come for tacos and a beer on their trivia days, too. Bring all your friends--this place is quite huge and have long tables for large parties. Tip: Order on the left innermost part of the bar if you're just there for food, and remember your table number when ordering!

Went for the first time and I enjoyed it. Ordered the guacamole, steak and shrimp tacos. The food order did take some time but it states that on the menu so I was prepared for it. Ordered a cocktail and it was just okay - tasted like juice. I should've opted for one of the canned options. The tacos were good! I loved that the meat was plentiful and not dry. I will say the cheese they use (I'm assuming) or some other component on the steak taco is a little salty. But other than that I enjoyed and would return.

Ask the Community - Marz Community Brewing

Are the CBD seltzers available to order in while eating or are they only to go?

    Both are acceptable

    Is the place children friendly?

    Yes

Can I get beer to go?

Yes! They do curbside pickup and also you can get package goods to go.

Do they require or take reservations?

    No, the patio is walk-up.

    Can we bring our kids?

You sure can. They even have high chairs.

Their website shows three beers. Is that all they have? No food menu, so no food?

They definitely have food! It's an interesting selection. It's filling food, too. They have more than 3 beers. They have quite a lot on tap and bottles. They also have a space where you can buy their bottled beer from a fridge and merch.

Does this place have TV's in the bar section? I know most brewery's don't

yes, they have one big screen for sure. most of the times I've been there its tuned into some sort of non broadcast channel, very weird programming, but they had World Cup on earlier this month.

Do they take reservations? A group of 6 or so people would like to come for lunch on a weekend. Not sure if it's typically packed.

No reservations from what I have seen. When I was there on the weekend we arrived around noon and it wasn't full yet but it did fill up shortly afterwards.

The calm, bright Mediterranean interior welcomes you into what feels like a cool summer day. Started with the black truffle puff bread -- felt like eating a cheese pizza with anchovies, deep and umami and honestly some of the best bread I've ever had. Would come back just for that alone. The tasting menu delivered from start to finish. The Manchego cracker came out crispy with a light creamy interior from the cheese and a hint of saltiness from the ham on top. The roasted mussel toast was next abundant mussels paired with Calabrian chili butter that took it over the edge, one of my favorites from the meal. The pasta was fresh and light with a deeply flavored sausage that complemented it well. The prime picanha closed out the savory courses perfectly tender, juicy, and the romesco sauce alongside brought a nice lightly sweet and smoky balance. Dessert was the pistachio which I don't typically gravitate toward but this one was well balanced and a nice finish to a great tasting menu. Shoutout to my server Peter who doubled as the bartender exceptional service throughout. -Mr.

Our server, Miguel, was phenomenal. She was attentive, fast, and gave us some spot-on recommendations. My only takeaway would be if guests ordered bottled water and/or champagne, the waitress should poor them into the glasses for you. From my experience, this is something that I thought was a norm. We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat (we had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday), we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led to a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor was dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: - Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. - Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. - Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. - Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. - Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: - Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. - Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. - Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant. The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

We each only had a couple of bites left, but it definitely gave off an "okay, you're done now" vibe. Then he went to take the green beans (arguably the cult classic on the menu), and we still had more than half of them left. I had to stop him and say, "Yeah, we're not done with those. We paid for them. Can you put them in a to-go box instead?" For context, it was about 20 minutes before closing, but we ordered with plenty of time and were already eating with a "get in, eat, and get out" mindset. I've just never had someone at a restaurant start clearing plates while we were still actively eating--without asking, "Are you finished?" "Can I clear this?" or "Would you like a to-go box?" It was just... "You're done, these are leaving now." We were there for less than 45 minutes, left about 15 minutes before closing, and spent over $200 (not including the tip). With so many options in Chicago, I don't see myself coming back here.

Personally, I think it could have used a little more sauce to tie everything together. While the beef shines, the overall bite felt a bit one-dimensional to me. It's still a very good burger and I'm glad I tried it, but based on the expectations, it landed in the "good, not life-changing" category. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.
