Masa's shrimp tempura on left, the traditional shrimp tempura on right, don't forget that was a whole other roll that we had to pay for.

A Longtime Customer Completely Let Down I've been eating sushi for over 30 years, and Masa Bistro & Sushi Bar used to be one of our favorite spots for birthdays, family dinners, and gatherings with friends. After our most recent visit? We won't be coming back. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll--something I've had countless times at restaurants across the country. What arrived was covered in eel sauce and stuffed with lettuce. I politely asked the waitress if I could get it remade without the extras. She was kind and put in the request. Then she came back and said the manager told her "the description for the shrimp tempura roll is on the Roll page." The problem? I ordered it from the Lunch Specials menu, which has no description at all. So unless I had read the Roll page in advance, I was just supposed to guess it would be a totally different version. Instead of fixing it, the manager told her I'd have to pay full price for a second roll--plus an extra dollar just to get spicy mayo. What should have been a simple, reasonable request turned into nickel-and-diming and a complete lack of hospitality. Then came the food: * The miso soup tasted like brown aquarium water--seriously. Not savory or warm, just murky and fishy, like the smell of a dirty fish tank. * My daughter ordered the Japanese ramen, which her dad has had many times before at this same restaurant. It normally came with the typical wiggly ramen noodles. This time? Thick spaghetti noodles that tasted like plastic. The broth was equally awful--exactly how an old aquarium smells. * The Chicken Pad Thai was the one bright spot. Delicious as always and the only dish we finished. And to top it off: when we placed our order, I told the waitress we were celebrating a birthday. She got excited and offered us the Birthday Fried Banana Dessert--which we accepted. My daughter was excited about it. But guess what? It never came. Not a word, not an apology, not a check-in. We've celebrated so many birthdays and special moments at Masa over the years, but after this experience--between the dismissive management, disappointing food, and forgotten birthday--we're completely done. We took the leftovers home and fed them to our chickens because I refused to waste $70+ on trash. So congratulations, Masa: my chickens got the most expensive meal of their life . Update: 8-5-25: My friend somehow got the food report from the Food Inspectors that just happened 6-23-2025 *need dates on defrosted food *no soap at bar *missing dates on food Check the pics for more of the report

Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had! Not only is the Sushi amazing, their presentation is top notch! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Heard good things about this place and it's beautiful inside, the staff is nice but the food leaves much to be desired. Our noodles were okay but not outstanding and were a very small portion for the price. We got some sushi as well and the portions were okay but the flavors didn't pop, just tasted fine. I think if they could bring prices down and increase portions on non sushi menu items they would be a very good place to recommend, but there are much better deals for the price.

Great little restaurant with sit down service. Perfect for people with gluten sensitivity or diabetics. They can cook your food with gluten-free soy sauce if you ask for it. And the edamame, avocado salad, and Naruto (sushi made with a cucumber shell instead of rice) are perfect for people watching their blood sugar levels. Cori, our server, was very attentive and careful with our food intolerances. The best part was finishing off the meal with some yummy mochi. We will be bringing our husbands with us next time!

Finally decided to give Masa a try! Their atmosphere is so wonderful and so is their service. We tried their Edamame and the Scorpion roll and we were very happy with them. Loved that the menu had photos of the rolls for reference. We'll be back to try more!

After a year of being on my list of places to dine in, my wife and I visited Masa Bistro and Sushi Bar. I regret not going to this place before. The service, the ambiance, the food presentation, the music, the flavor, and the decoration are on point; Masa pays attention to the details. Their prices and portions correlate, and I am happy to say they are more affordable than other restaurants in town. I would return to this place and try other items on their menu, and I also highly recommend it to friends and family.

It was great service the food was good but tit was just hard to enjoy it the building was so hot. I know it's Texas and we aren't ok at the moment but we were the only people there can't imagine when it's packed.

For my first time dining in Masa I had an excellent experience. The decor was nice and popping. Menu was big and had a lot of variety. Food was very good with affordable prices and big portions. Service was fast and easy , even with a lot of people eating at the time. Definitely recommend this place & will be coming back for sure !

I absolutely loved the food here. Service was excellent! Very clean and update place. You can tell this place cares about how the food looks and taste. The design of this place make you feel like you're in a different world when eating here. This is a must to go place. We will be back!

We arrived around 1:30 PM, and there were only two other guests dining at the time. The service wasn't the warmest, but it was efficient and they got every item correct, which I always appreciate. What we ordered: Edamame - 8.5/10 A simple starter, but always a favorite with my kids--they absolutely demolished every last one. Beef Egg Rolls - 9/10 Served hot and fresh with a crispy exterior and juicy, flavorful filling. The sweet and sour dipping sauce leaned on the sweeter side, but it balanced the savory filling really well. Crab Rangoon - 7.5/10 Exactly what you'd want from a good Rangoon: creamy, crispy, gooey, and packed with flavor. It came with the same sweet and sour sauce, which paired nicely. Seaweed Salad - 6/10 Not my personal favorite, but still enjoyable. It was fresh and crisp with julienned cucumber mixed in, giving it a nice texture. Pan-Fried Beef Potstickers - 5.8/10 The filling was flavorful and had a lot of potential, but the wrapper/dough felt undercooked, making it a bit chewy. Still edible and not bad overall, but definitely could've been better. Pineapple Fried Rice (Combo: Beef, Chicken & Shrimp) - 8.5/10 A very solid dish. The proteins were all cooked well--nothing chewy or dry. The pineapple added a nice sweetness, though it could've been cooked a bit longer since it was slightly colder than the rice. Overall, a really enjoyable plate. Chashu Bun - 8/10 The pork was cooked well--fatty, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The sauce complemented it nicely, and the bun itself was soft and delicate while still holding everything together. My only complaint was that it could've used more than one thin slice of pork. Tonkotsu Ramen - 8.9/10 Very flavorful and one of the highlights of the meal. The noodles tasted fresh and seemed handmade since they weren't uniform in thickness. They were slightly undercooked, but not enough to be a dealbreaker. The chashu pork was tender, and the marinated boiled egg was cooked perfectly. Overall: A solid spot with some standout dishes. While service could've been a bit friendlier and a couple items missed the mark, the freshness and flavor of most dishes made it worth the stop. I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu.
