I knocked off a star immediately because it was cans of coke and no free refills. Because cans. BOOOOOOO That took one star off but also ensured I won't eat inside again. Potentially take away but honestly, it wasn't all that great. I've tried it two times and both times I didn't finish it. I've had the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken. The naan consistently comes out hard and brittle...like it's either been cooked to long or, what it feels like, has been sitting around getting stale for a while. The food is okay. Not great. They do get "spicy" right and don't make it "American Spicy," but real actual spicy. That's a bonus. But the can thing bugs me. Especially when I can see the fountain set up right there. So...no thanks. Again, not a lot of Indian options in Dallas but it was my late wife who really liked Indian food, not me in particular. So having even small hurdles, like the coke thing, make this not a choice for me. But it's not bad. Just not great. Hence, three stars. read more

Who knew that some of the best Indian cuisine would be at the heart of Dallas, OR???? I always worry about restaurants in small towns, because they can get away with not being as good, because there aren't other choices. Masala Bites literally beats most of the Indian I have had in big cities! Restaurant is really clean and the service was quick and super friendly. I ordered the Butter Chicken (medium spicy) - and it was more spicy than not, but the flavor was AMAZING!!!! The aromatic spices! The chicken was cooked to perfection! Basmati rice and garlic naan -all delicious. Hubs doesn't eat Indian. I ordered Onion Badji for him (he loves onion rings) and he actually liked it! They do not serve wine or beer as advertised. The food is good but the staff are rude. Four of us wanted to go boxes, we were given only two. This restaurant needs more color, ambience and music. We ordered samosas and veg pakoras with tamarind sauce. They were both excellent! This chef really is skilled. These appetizers came out really quickly too. The atmosphere needs a boost though. I'm rooting for their success and will definitely order again while I'm in Dallas. My husband and I had dinner here last night. It was absolutely perfect when we arrived the families that were already eating began to leave. We had the restaurant all to ourselves it was so nice. Peaceful and quiet we ordered and our food came out so quickly and perfectly. So hot and fresh our meals had incredible flavor and the colors were so vibrant. This little restaurant tucked away in Dallas Oregon was a pleasant surprise. We went for my birthday in November, and for our anniversary in Oct and then took friends during the holiday break. Wow! The food here is seriously legit. Some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten. The quality here is what you might find at the nicest Indian restaurant in Portland or Seattle or San Francisco. Not sure how Dallas, OR lucked out on this gem. But I absolutely highly recommend. Saag Paneer is fabulous. So we're the two chicken dishes. Naan was the best I can remember ever having. Masala Bites was delicious and made to order in approximately 20 minutes (just as the clerk informed it would be). I am a nurse and being on my lunch break, the timing worked perfectly. I had Chicken Tiki Masala and when he asked how spicy I wanted it, I said minimal. It came out looking dangerously spicy but it wasn't! It was just as spicy as I had asked for. The restaurant itself is small with Indian music videos playing on a television. But it was warm and cozy and again, the bar food was spectacular. The flavor on the pickles wasn't my style but it felt real true to the spices... Very rude staff. I walk in said hello and was ignored. The two waiters had a conversation while my family waited for some kind of greeting. They pointed to a table and said "sit there". The food was mediocre, the portions are very small and too expensive for what it is. $20 for 2 ounces of meat. Everything lacked salt and spice so the food was bland.
