Listen to the reviews. This place is a scam. As shared by others, the price they quote you onsite with is egregiously different than the prices online and over the phone. Ended up paying $6k to have the vents cleaned and when consulting with others about the issue later, there were other options available. It was a complete rip off. I didn't do my due diligence and made the mistake of going with them because I was crunched on time but obviously it was a big mistake. Be VERY wary of this company. There is no relation to the teaser prices they quote initially and what they finally present you with. The personnel have been trained to squeeze as much out of the customer as possible. The standard fear they put into you is mold. And for the prices that they charge the work is superficial and barely takes 1/2 hour. A thorough cleaning should normally take a couple of hours. But no, not for Proclean. Didn't even go with this company. Got their coupon in the mail (MoneyMailer) and wanted to call and ask for some quotes, knowing coupons are tricky. Called. Lady answered. Probably one of the least pleasant experiences over the phone. I started with "Hi, how are you today" (mind you i'm the customer..) "fine." "Oh... okay, well I received your coupon in the mail and was interested in scheduling some service for next week" She sounded like she was over her job, or just didn't care. Everything I was bringing up, all she would respond with was how much more I should probably expect to pay. I said I wanted vent cleaning and carpet cleaning, and asked if there was a bundled deal. Thanks to Jose Q. and Jose M. for arriving yesterday to check our dryer vent connection and confirming that is was secure; they then performed additional clean-up/vacuuming of built up dryer lint to ensure safety when operating the dryer. Honestly if I could I would give them less than 1. I spent over $300 told the woman on the phone I had pet issues and when the tech came out he upsold me because of the puppy problems. Not once did either say they don't gurantee pets stains. The invoice does but unless you read that you don't know. I paid for deep clean and not only were the pet stains there but so were other non pet related stains. I have had my carpets cleaned many times and they have always been able to get it out. Plus if they are concerned about a stain they tell you. Office manger was rude and told me essentially it was my problem. Be careful using Proclean. read more

I called and hired ProClean to clean my dryer vent. I had used them before and had been pleased. The woman I spoke to on the phone quoted me a price of $275.00. I thought that it was a little overpriced but agreed because I had been happy with them previously. At the appointment time scheduled the (2) men arrived promptly. They were courteous and professional. The one man who seemed to be the leader told me that the price for cleaning the dryer would be $500-600. I told him that it was twice the amount told to me. Knowing that my dryer was in desperate need of cleaning and having little time to reschedule another company, I allowed him to do the work. The work itself was done very well. I have no complaints about the cleaning of the dryer vent. They did a very good job actually. The good work however was undone when I was asked to have my card approved prior to the job and and overcharged this outrageous amount. It far far exceeds the maximum amount for the same job. I will not choose this company again for this reason and hope any reader of this will beware also. They do a good job but take advantage of you. read more

I hired ProClean to do 5 areas of deep-cleaning for $189. When they got to the house they assessed my family room as 2 rooms...even though I said not to do under any of the furniture other than the tables, which eliminated 70% of the carpet in the room. Then they came upstairs where there were dark stains from soft soled shoe that "decomposed" all over my bedroom carpet. They said to clean it they'd have to use $150 of sanitizing solution! I said "no way, use your regular stuff and do the best you can." They refused, and I told to just do the other two areas. The family room carpet and the stairs looked okay, but I was surprised that when they finished (in about 40 minutes) that the ONLY stain on that carpet was only barely lightened, and that all the indentations from the tables I told them to clean under were still deep...like they'd barely made a pass over them. So use them if you want your carpets refreshed, but I'd find someone else if you have any real stains. Wish I could remember who I used last time! read more

I found this company through an Ad. Thought I would try them out. Company came over and decided I needed an estimate first instead of doing the job. After an inspection they found mold and decided instead of cleaning my ducts to give an estimate for $2,000 dollars. After they left I realized the system was completely turned off. Since it is after hours I have to call another company to fix it. So not only did I get the service I wanted now I have to pay some to fix their mistake. Decided to use this company because of a mailer we received which "quotes" for a specific price for cleaning. Jose arrived in the rain and proceeded to track his wet feet across the newly cleaned hardwoods. After showing him both furnaces and allowing him to inspect the older of the two, he immediately stated that we had extremely dirty ducts and could see mold. He then looked at the newer of the two furnaces and proclaimed the same thing!! He then decided to "educate" me, a trained biologist, about mold and tried to sell me on both disinfectants and ultra violet light placements; giving examples of other homes in the neighborhood who experienced the same situation. After much back and forth we opted for cleaning and disinfecting which consisted of using half a bottle of cleaner blown by a compressor!! So, four hours later and many holes punched into the vents as well as further wet floors and greasy hand prints, he finished. I don't know how he ever cleaned the new system so quickly since I had to show him where all of the vents were placed, and which as of today are still dirty. Jose then proceeded to charge me not once, not twice, but three times for the job, which I didn't find out until my bank statement arrived. That's a different story!! So, I was hoping that cleaning the ducts would eliminate some of the heavy dust that I'm experiencing daily - nope. It's just as bad. Adding insult to everything else, I finally received my over payment with a scribbled note from Terry, "sorry for the inconvenience". Interesting that their mailer states they are COVID compliant, they aren't; Jose didn't wear a mask, nor Tyvek coveralls or shoe coverings. We wore the masks. We were satisfied with our home's air duct cleaning done by José from ProClean. We originally just needed to have our dryer vent cleared, but it was more cost-effective to bundle this service with the cleaning of our home air duct system. Our house was only 12 years old and we'd never noticed any issues that would indicate that we had dirty air ducts. However, we were shocked to learn that not only the duct work was very dirty, but that we also had some mold. José took several pictures to show us. It was disheartening to learn the price for the mold remediation in addition to the air duct cleaning, but the job had to be done. José worked very hard to clean and sanitize our system, including eradicating the mold and cleaning the coils and blowers our HVAC systems. He was very polite and professional and he explained what he was doing, including sharing before and after photos. He also did not leave a mess when he was finished. Even though we can't see the finished work, we have peace of mind knowing that our drier will not catch fire because of the bird's nest in the duct, and also that we are breathing mold-free cleaner air. read more

I wanted my ducts cleaned and ended up paying them $5,600 for various things, including a proprietary UV system that I am supposed to call them when it needs maintenance. I am a VERY DISSATISFIED customer. Their technician was a great guy and didn't give me a really hard sell, but I agreed (MY fault) to outrageous charges. Very disappointed. Rep., Max was supposed to be at house between 11-1. did not show until 2:30 and I had to call him to know if he was still coming. When he got here I was told there would be an additional charge if $299 for the chemical solution to clean the chimney, the person who took made my appointment said they were having a special on chimney cleaning $99. After examining the wood stove it was discovered that the elbow joint of the chimney tube had been cracked, I asked what the cost would be to fix it and got no response until it was completely disassembled. If I had an estimate prior to him taking it apart I would have not had the work done. Then was told $1500 to replace tubing. Now I have a wood stove with no chim tubing hooked to the flue of the fireplace. Not my idea read more

Sounds like my experience was like many others I see here. The owner, Terry, was very nice when I called to schedule this. I just bought a house and it has two systems, so he quoted me $250 each. He said it would take 2-3 hours to complete. He also said the ducts would "look like new" when done. When Jose, the technician arrived, he looked at the two units, and quickly said they were too dirty, and had mold, and would need a "deep clean" and "sanitization". He quoted me another $650 per unit, which seems super high, but I felt kind of stuck with it. I approved it, thinking he was going to be there for several hours doing the "deep clean". I might have missed something, but all I saw him do was hook up a vacuum to the return, and then going to each vent and blow compressed air into them. He was done in well under 3 hours (total). I don't see how the $500 job I was quoted was to take 2-3 hours, but then the "deep clean" (which cost more than double), didn't take any additional time. I ended up paying over $1800 total, and I really think I was ripped off. Will not make that mistake again. read more

Their moneymailer ads say "don't be fooled by other scam offers" but ProClean is the real scam. I called to get an estimate because I knew my ducts needed deep cleaning. The woman on the phone was only able to quote me the $249.95 offer and tell me that it cost for the dryer vent and hose and blower. She said she could not quote me on the phone for deep cleaning, because a technician needed to come to my home to inspect the ducts and determine if it was needed - that was already fishy. The price of a deep clean for one HVAC system should be the same no matter what and should be easily quoted over the phone. Instead, they want to make it seem like they're reasonably priced and get a technician into your home to lure you into paying these ludicrous prices: Deep clean + sanitize (w/o) coil & blower = $750 Deep clean + sanitize w/coil & blower = $1295 Deep clean + sanitize w/coil & blower + mold pkg = $1985 I went with AirWiz instead. Their standard clean package is ~$725 for what ProClean calls a "deep clean" (using the air whips) and they were able to do a deep clean, including the coil and blower, plus a mold remediation treatment and a dryver vent cleaning for around $900 with a coupon - less than HALF of what ProClean tried to charge. read more

The company sends a gentleman who says ducts fine but has mold in this one section and going cost $2000 not the advertised price. Then proceeds to rush out door telling us he will email quote. We've been using them to clean area rugs in the past, but we just used them for our dryer vent, which hadn't been professionally cleaned since its installation eight years ago. Our tech was prompt, quick, clean, and efficient. The service was $500, which was a little more than expected, but we were told it's because there are three elbow-turns and an assist motor half way through--kind of long. J tried to sell us a heater cleaning for $1,200, when we have a contract with our HVAC company. Even if no contract, the cost would be less than $170 to clean the furnace. Then the cost came down to $200, and he even called the office person for her to try to convince me to have it done. Wasting my time instead of cleaning duct work. Then he had to hurry cleaning due to the carpet man arrival to clean, also from Proclean of Gaithersburg. I feel and saw J hurry through some vents which should have had more time. I know this is from at least 30 minutes of trying to get me to "give in" to furnace cleaning, which is done every year. Have HVAC people do the work for cheaper. Also he never checked my dryer vent which has never been done for years and I wish I remembered that while he was running around to hurry to get out of the house. Coupon was only worth it for price but will not use it ever again. Probably will rent a machine for cleaning carpet and don't need to have ducts cleaned anymore. The recent reviews all seem to mirror the experience I had today. The customer should never feel pressured into paying for a service and while the technician was making the case for deep cleaning or mold remediation, I still only wanted to do the basic air duct cleaning at part of the promotion of $249 for up to 14 ducts and $15 for each extra vent. I had 21 vents so my math calculated $354 but somehow the technician was telling me a price of $500 so I just coughed up the $75 cost for the service call and reached out to a different company.It's my prerogative if I want to handle the mold separately with a different company that has much more competitive pricing and just want to get a basic air duct cleaning done so I should be pressured to pay $900 for a deep cleaning much less $2000 for a full system mold remediation. read more

I have had a horrible experience with this company. Last week I call Pro clean his an advertisement through a local circular and was impressed with the advertisement and the price. I spoke with the company several times prior to the service date of 12/15/20017 and was assured everything was ready to go as stated . How wrong that was..... First I was given a price of $169.00 ( which included a condo fee of an extra $20.00). I indicated that I lived in an apartment complex with an elevator and was told that was fine, the condo fee was because they used different equipment than that of the complex. Okay the total of $189.00 was agreed. The technician arrived inspected the areas to be cleaned at which time we were informed that the cost would be $214.00. I explained the previous agreed price and was told the final cost was up to him and that the office was not open and since we did not agree with the new price there was nothing he could (or would do) to come to an agreement of the price we were quoted and quickly left with out so much as a I apologize for the inconvenience. Which was extremely rude!!!! When I was able to contract the office I was informed of the $214.00 price ( for cleaning 3 rooms of carpet- dinning, living and bedroom) and told the person that set up the appointment probably misunderstood my request. When they arrived they claimed my parents air duct would cost $3000 more for mold removal. They told my parents if they pay CASH and not tell the company they can do it for $1300. I didn't think I would like what they did and I didn't but I was in a hurry and they were cheap and met the needs of my landlord. If it was my carpet I would not have been happy. They give u a price over the phone and then change the price when they arrive saying it is bigger then expected. It was a town house, not even a stand alone. Technician said 2 rooms were oversized. They "buff" your carpet which may remove some dirt. They then rake your carpet to get it to stand up. I have had steam cleaning done before and think that works much better. There were still a lot of Dents in my carpet from where furniture was unlike when I steamed the carpets, I am pretty sure most dents were minimized. read more

These folks get the job done well!! I had an entire whole house deep cleaned, and it smelled and looked amazing. My technician, GQ, was a friendly guy and handled moving big furniture around like it was no big deal. He was respectful of my sleeping son and managed to clean the rest of the house in time for my son to wake up and then clean his nursery carpet. Baby whisperer, maybe? We did call around for pricing and asked for mold remediation. But for some reason the DEEP CLEAN package was not mentioned over the phone. The receptionist mentioned the $249 for the air duct cleaning and $75 additional cost for the coil or blower cleaning. The DEEP CLEANING was done on Thursday, JUNE 11, 2020. José, our PROCLEAN tech did patiently answer our questions. But for the hefty price tag for the DEEP CLEAN package, we were shocked at the price ($2,499.00) which included the HVAC UV light. I have two suggestions for company to implement: (1) Air quality testing after DEEP CLEAN is completed and (2) use of a duct inspection camera to check for remaining mold/debris/dust particles. read more

The email address I had gotten from their website was not correct so they never received my mail. The company is here as I write this review and they are completely recleaning everything. Within minutes, the tech had raised the price to an estimate of $2,000, like other users have said. I said that wasn't in my budget and the guy actually pulled the "I'll call the owner" thing. Immediately after dialing the phone and faking a short conversation, he knocked $300 off of the estimate. Then all of the things that were critical that I needed to do suddenly left the conversation. Proclean is a terrible company. I called them because I had a coupon that said they would clean my air-ducts for $250. I ended up paying them $1580 because they claimed that my vents were covered in mold. Upon further research I'm not convinced that I ever had mold, as only a mold specialist can say for sure. They completed the cleaning and supposed extra "sanitation" and "mold treatment" that I was paying so much extra for in under 2 hours. This made me suspicious considering that he originally told me such treatment would generally take 4 or MORE hours. On a whole they were completely unprofessional. The first thing one of the men asked upon arrival was if he could use my bathroom. Not only did he make it very stinky but he left PUBIC HAIRS on my toilet seat. In the end there was debris on my carpet and huge scuff marks all over my newly painted walls, and I had to pay $1580 for only 1.5 hours of sloppy work. I was going to pay with a check but they absolutely refused, so I had to put it on my credit card. They should have made my payment options more clear when they enticed me to sign a slip saying I would pay before they began working. When I called the next day to make complaints the manager actually sat on the phone ARGUING with me for a whole HOUR! (almost as long as it took his workers to supposedly remove mold) In defense of the messy job they did he said they weren't a "maid service" As if I had no right to ask for a clean job. I can't understand why he was talking to me if he didn't want to apologize or compensate me. He was completely condescending and rude. My husband, two dogs, 2 year old son and I currently live in a house with my parents, younger brother, and younger sister. So our house is VERY traveled-in and our carpets are constantly being used, walked on, spilled on..etc We had one of the mailer coupons from ProClean to come do the carpet, so we made an appointment and Fernadis came out the next day. True to his word, he called 30 minutes before he arrived which was nice. Right off the bat he was extremely friendly and honest. He let us know that the majority of our pet stains and odor would probably come out, but he did warn us that some of the heavier stains or ones that had been there for particularly long time might not come out. We had taken the liberty to move most of the furniture out of the rooms just for sake of ease and time, but one of the sofas was relatively large and he was very quick to offer to move it for us. My only complaint was once he looked at the house, despite the fact that we measured all the square footage for the rooms, the price he told us was slightly higher than the price on the mailer coupon we had. Once I looked at the fine print on the coupon though, I realized that it said on the bottom that stairs were additional and a combination room (for example: an open floor plan dining room/living room) would equal 2 rooms rather than 1. We decided to go ahead with it and we actually decided to include the more expensive deep-cleaning as well as sanitizing for the basement because of urine stains and pet odor. Once we agreed on a price and area to be cleaned, he got to work. I was surprised he was here alone, but he finished everything in roughly 2 hours. The biggest benefit: the machine was SO QUIET. We were upstairs and we couldn't hear a THING in the basement when he was cleaning. I should have taken before/after pictures because he did such a good job getting up some of the dark stains. Overall, would I go with them again? Absolutely. He was quick, quiet, extremely friendly, honest, and efficient. Was it pricey? For sure, but if you're going to be paying somewhere around $100 for a rented carpet cleaner that you have to use yourself and only does HALF as good of a job, you may as well spring for the real deal because they really do know what they're doing and they REALLY get the carpet VERY VERY clean! read more

I got a ProClean coupon in the mail and needed a large carpeted area in the lower level of my house either replaced or cleaned. I also wanted stains removed from a large sofa and loveseat in our living room. Omar arrived on schedule, he called the day before to remind me of his upcoming visit. If he called 30 min prior to arriving I am not aware. Omar got right to work. He took a look at the carpet and informed me that it was not worth cleaning. I very much appreciated his honest assessment. Next he worked on the stains on our furniture and after a fairly lengthy drying time of about five hours it appeared that most of the stains were still there, just not quite so noticeable. I just saw a Groupon for duct cleaning and it reminded me of the horrible experience I had with this company back in 2012. I also fell for their scam where I was up-sold a bunch of products and services that I did not need. Their service people are obviously trained to deceive people into thinking that they need a bunch of extra services on top of your simple duct cleaning. Shame on me, I should have taken my time and consulted friends, family, or other service professionals before I agreed to spend so much money. I normally rely on Yelp for all of the services I get for my home so I was worried when I saw the reviews here; however, I couldn't pass up the great deal ProClean was offering via mail for cleaning 2 areas for $89.95. That was more than $100 cheaper than the minimum charge I was quoted by 3 other carpet cleaning companies! I'm so glad I tried proclean! The reservation process was super easy and the customer service was great over the phone and in person. They texted me appointment confirmation and reminders, and sent me a link to track the technician on the day he came. Juan called on his way, arrived on time, and did an awesome job! He pointed out a couple of spots in my carpet and told me how he'd treat them, then got the job done all while I worked in the other room. Both rooms were done in less than 30 mins! This company uses deceptive business practices - BEWARE! I arranged for duct cleaning from mailer coupon and the cost should have been $249 plus $45 for 3 additional ducts. For $750 I would expect more than what was done and spending more than an hour and a half doing everything. The extra money spent to have the technician drill 2 holes for the extensive cleaning was a joke. One hole was drilled into the return and did absolutely nothing because he had the grates off and there was nowhere for the air hose to go. The second hole was into the supply line and only allowed him to go in one direction. The dirt that was shown to me looked like everything that was in the return that I saw when I inspected before their arrival. The only difference I got between the $250 clean and the $750 clean (was quoted $650 over the phone) was a lighter wallet. To do the deep clean which included cleaning my coil, blower, and any mold remediation was $2000! My family suffered from undiagnosed health issues for years, and this long journey lead me to discover hidden mold in our HVAC system. I called PROCLEAN and felt confident they were a great company because the rep spent a lot of time talking to me on the phone and educating me about the process. They sent Juan to evaluate and provide an estimate - that estimate would count toward the work to be done and I agreed to move forward that same day. Juan was very professional and spent a lot of time talking to me and explaining everything. He opened the system and significant mold was immediately apparent. He set about cleaning/removing mold from the inside of the unit and coils. He replaced the UV light which had burned out years and ago (who knew you should replace them annually?) and he installed another UV light after showing me that the placement of the existing one wasn't providing enough coverage. He then sealed up all of the vents and fogged the system with microban?? to kill off any mold spores that were in the ducts. He told me I didn't need vent cleaning and showed me with flashlights and photos from his phone to prove it. He commended us for using top quality air filters that keeps them clean (at least we did one thing right). I had him inspect the second unit in our basement, which he said was clean with no evidence of mold. He changed the UV light in that system. The total project was not cheap, but PROCLEAN didn't try to upsell us on services we didn't need and I felt they did really good, honest work. I felt it was worth the price to have a properly certified company that knew what they are doing (Juan has been doing this work for 20 yrs) and it gave me so much peace of mind to eliminate the toxic mold that has been plaguing us for years.
