Gave three fairly expensive piece of clothing to the cleaners (Loro piana roadster jacket, the row trousers, and a bespoke cotton blazer), and so far have very disappointing experience. To start, i am very appalled at effectiveness of the dry clean on the items: i have some oil/food stains on the jacket and trousers. I clearly mark each item with red tape on the stain marks, and when they are returned, none are removed! FYI, i had to do it myself at home and with a bit of work, all stains are properly removed. Second, the ironing of the pants have seriously damaged the pants. When i received them, i've noticed a significant amount of shine and white marks along the crease line and around the hem, which is clearly the case that you guys are using a much hotter setting than you should be when iorning!! I thought you guys are professional! Very disappointed overall, despite having good experience with the system you guys are having. Please for the love of god put more work on the actual care of the garment than other superfluous thing. read more

I have been a customer of Helena's for 13 years now. I've met many on the team while dropping off "sorry gifts" because they could not access my building (my fault!) and I wanted to say sorry. But, this week I sent in an item, a Hugo Boss long coat, winter coat, rain coat. 8 years old and first cleaning. I was texted to read an informative email about the risks involved with cleaning this garment. The prognosis was confidence but the risks were clearly outlined. I got my suit dry cleaned here and it was honestly okay. I took advantage of 20% off for first sign up as well as free pickup and delivery from my apartment building, but after a bit more research, even with these promos, they charge higher than other places. It took about 4 days for the dry cleaning process, which is on the slower side for the service, but they did their job adequately. However, they took my suit's hanger which is a nice hanger, and in exchange I got the thin hangers that broke as I took it back to my apartment. It's not worth pursuing after because I can just get another standard, non-cheap quality hanger instead, but it's worth calling out that you should only give them clothes and nothing more (so for a suit, that would mean a cheap hanger or something) I'd honestly make an effort to go to another dry cleaning place than coming back here, just by this experience. This is just an adequate option for convenience only, not for any stellar service or offerings. I will update the review if I somehow do get my suit hanger back. read more

I took 2 suits to dry clean and 5 shirts laundry light starch, let them know that I needed on Thursday morning as I had a flight, they sent me to the main facility to pick up, the charged $205 for this when I asked is this correct the response was you should have asked I do not recommend based on the lack of courtesy and let be honest 2 suits 5 shirts $205 I will make sure that everyone I see I will let them, I moved up from Laguna Beach and I never ever paid this much getting lip service!!!! read more

BEWARE!!! This place will ruin your clothes and not do anything to make things right. They have absolutely zero customer service. I brought a very expensive jacket here to be dry cleaned, it was returned to me destroyed. When I tried to file a claim they told me that there was nothing They could do about it and to try to return the jacket. They did absolutely zero to try and offer an actual solution and would not take responsibility. Mind you i've only ever gotten this jacket dry cleaned, and it's been OK until I took it to this dry cleaner. I was looking for a cleaner with pick up service at my work place in Westlake. Helenas advertised an earth friendly approach to cleaning and no minimum for FREE PICK UP. The reviews were tepid but...I do not have a car so the alternatives were thin. The pick up went fine and so did the return a few days later. Clothes were clean and well pressed. A couple weeks ago I lugged my bag to work, took pics of the items (as they ask) and texted for pick up. They texted back a few hours later "we no longer pick up in your area due to safety concerns". Huh? I texted back. "Where DO you pick up?" I mean...its WESTLAKE! Of all the scary neighborhoods I could name in Seattle....Westlake is unlikely to make the list. They did not respond. 2 stars because: 1) they could have communicated this change of policy before putting me in a bind with dirty clothes. 2) they could be more honest. I've worked with dry cleaners in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and San Francisco. Helena's is hands down the highest quality cleaner I've come across. As a clothing reseller, I often need to have spots/ stains removed from clothing. These folks can take out stains like no other. Then there's Kimberly, their wonderful seamstress that takes care of alterations. She is incredibly talented, helpful, and has worked with me to create custom garments. I can't recommend this cleaner highly enough; I will never bring my clothes in Seattle anywhere else again. It appears most of the negative reviews are folks looking for the cheapest dry cleaning possible. Good luck with that if you own nice clothing. I've used dirt cheap cleaners before--their plentiful in NYC--and it's never worked out well for me. Oh my GAWD! Spectacular. Today I just received my first item back; a Givenchy black trench. I was so concerned about them not being able to get out the body odor of sweating in the jacket throughout my winter wear. That's because they use "natural chemicals" and I was skeptical. I've never been able to see those work and in Scottsdale where I'm from, we didn't have those. I unpackaged my returned coat today, took the plastic off, gave it a sniff, and literally exclaimed aloud, "Oh my God...spectacular." Dexter Dry Cleaners (with their natural ingredients) wasn't able to get any of my natural body odor out of my professional work dresses last month. I even gave them a 2nd chance and they failed miserably. I'm so glad that I've found Helena's now that my new downtown apartment uses them. This is the worst dry cleaners I have ever used in my life. They ruined and damaged my wedding dress beyond repair or any hope of wearing it. They refused to help and won't answer my calls. I would not recommend using this company. They offered me 50 pounds of dry cleaning for $200. My very 1st time using this company I sent my clothing in and told them DRY CLEAN ONLY I EVEN PUT SIGNS ON MY BAGS. I talked to the pick up guy and told him please. Make sure they only dry clean and fold my laundry. When I received my laundry back a week later it was shrunken it had been washed and dried all of my clothes were too tight all of my. Shirts were too short and my clothing was ruined. I called and called several times talked to the supervisors and finally the owner who ALL LIED to me and said that they did not wash my clothes. When they in fact did ruin my clothes and offered me no compensation for the damage done. They are liars and not a good company to do your clothes. They keep breaking buttons on my shirt and are quite pricey. They keep closing stores so it is hard to get a close and consistent place. Now that buttons are missing and I tell them even after it's marked and the shirts come back no buttons and a tag.. they need to work on their quality control. read more

I used them to dry clean a rug that cost me thousands, over $6k. They sent it to a specialty rug cleaner. When I received my rug, it was ruined. It has large black marks all over the entire rug. My rug was in pristine condition before, it had no marks on it whatsoever, I just needed it cleaned because of allergies. I thought their pickup/drop off service was convenient. I wish I never trusted them with my item. They did not care that they ruined my rug and did nothing to fix it - zero customer service. I'm absolutely devastated because this was my mom's rug and she passed away so it is irreplaceable. RUN AWAY. read more

Very expensive alteration service. I was quoted $45-something for my jumpsuit to be hemmed. My tailor in Mill Creek charged me $30 for two pairs of jeans. Total $80 for dry cleaning, rush fees, and alteration was an easy NO when the garment was probably $40 on its own. Just makes you think about how much money is worth putting into it. I will gladly go out of my way to give my tailor in Mill Creek my business to avoid spending outrageous cost of their service AND after looking at the reviews - that may have been a wise choice! read more

Neighbors be aware of Helena's cleaners poor customer service and the service itself. Do not give them your designer clothes or anything of value. They don't care about people's stuff. I used other cleaners so many times and I never had any problem of this kind, never. I gave them one T-shirt and one dress for cleaning. The T-shirt had kind of black velvet all around it as a design. It was all erased. I can no longer wear it. As for the dress, new spots appeared. Spoke to one of the managers: he wasn't even sorry, you could feel he was on hurry, he didn't give a damn about my clothes. He kept saying it's the manufacturer fault not theirs. I wore that T-shirt only twice and now it's ruined and they are not even sorry. read more

Stated normally customers are contacted when something is Dry cleaned instead of laundered as specifically requested in the customer's instructions. This review is just for dry cleaning and not for tailoring. They do a good job, and they use environmentally friendly chemicals, which is important even though it may cost a little bit more. I've had suits/coats and a number of things cleaned here, and there's never been an issue. It does take a little bit longer than some other services, but since I get things cleaned well before I need them, it's never an issue. read more

I took in a few things for dry cleaning, and a winter wool coat for armhole repairs. The clothes look great, and I'm really happy with the dry cleaning service. Everyone at the counter was really nice. The coat is a point of confusion. I asked for the holes in both armholes to be repaired. My exact words were, "It doesn't have to look good, just no holes." The seamstress I spoke with said ok, and suggested patching and sewing one arm, and just sewing on the other. When I got it back, the lower armhole on one side still had a sizeable hole--about 2.5". This hole is right on the seam. (I added a photo.) I took it back, thinking it was just a mix-up. The woman I spoke with said they "sewed quite a bit" but couldn't sew up the entire armhole. She then pulled the sleeve inside out and noted all the holes up and down the arm, and said there's no way they could have sewed all the holes. (I never asked for sleeve repairs.) She said they only agreed to sew "two spots." She agreed to sew two more spots, but said she'd have to charge me. Why would I pay for armhole repairs if there would still be holes after? Also, why didn't the original person say they couldn't sew all the holes? I totally get if I asked the impossible, but the original person said ok when I asked for no holes. I'm completely confused, and dismayed at all the money I wasted. I felt like crying after this experience. I spent about half the value of the coat on a partial repair. read more

We have been using their pick-up and delivery dry cleaning service for over 6 months now. Overall, we are satisfied with the service we have received. There have been a couple of dresses that I was concerned about because they were fragile (fringe or silk) but they came back without any noticeable damage. A couple of my husband's shirts have come back with a mark where they tried to remove a stain (I don't know what the shirts went into them looking like so I don't count it against them). I've used dry cleaners all over the city and the prices here are fairly average. I will update my review if the quality of their service changes. read more

I love their free delivery and pick up from my apartment building and the fact they use non-toxic dry cleaning methods. I have always had amazing customer service. A couple times, they have noticed repairs I have needed on my clothes (of which I was also aware, but too lazy to deal with) and called me prior to processing the order. Each repair was handled impeccably and quickly. Kudos to them for making my clothes look great, giving great customer service, and providing reasonable pricing. A good dry cleaner is essential for any neighborhood. I'm always wary to try a new place because I've had clothes damaged, tags ripped off, etc. and you never know how your clothes will be treated. On top of Helena's super friendly staff and convenient (free) pick up and delivery service, the cleaning job was top notch. My clothes were in pristine condition and clearly handled with care. Signed up to try their service as it was recommended by my new apartment. Followed all the instructions on the website, set up a pick up time and yet they did not collect the laundry. Called to enquire and an arrogant young girl explains it is my fault as i did not pick a route. I asked how was i supposed to do that if the option is Not available on the website. Im told there is nothing they can do to help me. I hate dry cleaning my stuff. First, I teach physical education & fitness classes for a living, so you can imagine the treatment most of my wardrobe receives. Second, I like holding on to my money for luxury items like groceries, gas, mortgage, insurance..... Third, since I am not a frequent dry cleaning customer, I'm confused about how to find a high-quality dry cleaning service. A friendly, professional exchange with the dry cleaning staff is a given, but what *really* happens to my belongings when I leave the store? And what about the prices? I know the $1.75 I paid per item at one place was fantastic--but when I received my items back in the same condition I left them in...in this case dirty...I figured it was a case of "you get what you pay for." Having successfully evaded the need for dry cleaning services for about three years (SCORE!), I found myself in a predicament. I caught the very cute, very sweet young dog we were fostering exhibiting weak bladder control. On my down comforter and duvet cover. I do have a sheet on top of the comforter/duvet cover because dogs will be dogs, and I was able to catch the pup in mid-stream, so damage was minimized. But still there. Sigh. After stripping the bed, I felt a little like Scarlett O'Hara, wondering where I would go and what I would do to get these linens clean. I then remembered I had a Val-Pak coupon for Helena's Queen Anne Cleaners, a place within walking distance of our condo. I decided to give Helena's a try. I had two coupons, one for 40% off my order, and another for 50% off comforters. I couldn't use both coupons at the same time, so I brought my duvet cover in for cleaning first. The employee working at Helena's was friendly and processed my order quickly. My duvet cover was ready in time and not only was the spot gone, but so was any sign of dog hair, an embarrassing though accepted flaw found on most of my things these days. I turned in my comforter a few days later, and it, too, was returned cleaned and folded neatly (a huge difference from the crumpled ball of feathered bedding I left at the counter). I don't remember the price of the cover cleaning, but the comforter was done for $28 with my coupon. I suspect I won't be able to go another three years before needing to make a dry cleaning run, so it's nice to know I have a reliable place nearby offering Val-Pak coupons for their services. UPDATE: Well, I'm sad to admit I needed to make another dry cleaning run less than one month from my original post. Apparently, our foster dog started a trend, since one of our other two precious boys also decided to use the comforter as a urinal. Nice. I took both comforter and cover back to Helena's. For $51, both were cleaned, and I can't see any spots. I'm crossing my fingers this will be the end of the urinesanity. read more

I wish I saved the shirts so that I could photograph the damage, with their receipt next to it... Though I'm positive that they would ask if it was done by a different cleaner as per their responses in their shop and on their yelp reviews. Lol. What a joke. This is one of those situations where a single star is too much. I brought in a brand new shirt with two small spots on the back, that I saw at the store, but had to take anyways as it was the last one they had. Not only did they not get the spots out (that's ok), they made new ones! After 3 attempts and new spots every time, I went and got a new one. I needed this specific shirt for a wedding that I'm in. They didn't offer to pay for the new shirt, but they did say they would refund me $3! Update: to Will's point. There is something you could do. I got the stains out by putting it into my washing machine. Literally just a regular washing machine and everything came out. The issue wasn't even that the stains didn't come out, but that you created NEW ones. A giant water mark on the front. 1st time you didn't iron it, second time a new stain on the collar, and the third time a giant water mark on the front. My regular washing machine fixed it. Where and how I got my shirt is not of your concern, and I resent you thinking it's relevant. read more

Best drycleaner for those with mobile internet access, marginal administerial skills (read: irresponsibility), and long work days. In the midst of an insane work week, I took 14 items into Helena's for drycleaning at about 7 p.m. The two guys that work there are super friendly, and not in an annoying way. They send you an email, instead of a drycleaning ticket, with your invoice. Perfect. I can't keep receipts on my person for longer than 20 minutes, so this system works well for me. Additionally, they have online coupons--so my 14 items cost 20% less on this particular trip. After I dropped off all 10 of my suits (or one part of a suit), I couldn't figure out what I was going to do for court in the next two days. Not to worry, after a monday night drop off, it was ready at 1 p.m. on tuesday, a full day and a half before they promised it. How did I know? They emailed me that it was ready. Am in love. Their hours are great--I can usually make it in about 5 minutes before they close, and they are always gracious, despite the fact that I'm being a huge jerk by rolling in right at closing time. read more
