Heidi was a joy to work with and I feel we've been become friends through working together. =) Our Baby Shower was on a Sunday, and since there was no events the Saturday before she let us in that event to set up. I can not tell you how much stress that took off our shoulders. We were able to take our time and not worry about it the morning off. Since my family is from out of town and we live in Gilroy, this really helped with the unloading and just overall timing of getting ready that day. PROS: - Food separate from party: My dad and uncle cooked using our own BBQ's behind the grange. We did buffet style tacos in the kitchen. I liked that this was separate was the party and it gave us more room for seating. - Tables and Chair included: The venue has plenty of rectangle tables and the comfortable plastic chairs (not the metal chairs). - Side room: perfect for kids! I made custom coloring pages and put some toys in there. There were a lot of kids there but I hardly saw any of them because this room kept them occupied. - Frig: to keep cake and fruit chilled - Restrooms: plenty, never any wait time. - Cleanliness: the place was spotless when we arrived, very pleased with the cleanliness. - Parking: on site for the event, and plenty around. - drinks: with the one day event insurance we were able to bring in our own beer and wine. No bar staff needed. CONS: - seats per table: the chairs and comfy because they are wider, but this means we were only able to fit 3 next to each other per side. This made my count of table/chairs/centerpieces off a bit as I planned 4 chairs per side per table. Not a big a deal in the end but something to think about if your tables plan to touch like ours. -No A/C: we got lucky and it wasn't as hot as I thought it was going to be and there are fans on the ceiling and some floor fans. But as the girl of the hour running around I was so sweaty (probably cuz I'm also 31 weeks preg) but at least the guests were comfortable. I made paper fans for guest to use just in case. Overall, we will definitely be using this venue again!

She helped us upgrade to a Junior Suite, which made a huge difference for our family. She was kind, professional, and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. I was very dumbfounded on Yelp how their rating was so high and left me regretting booking here after my experience. When I drove in to their property, I noticed there were barely any guests' vehicles in their parking lot. Even the nice front desk woman that checked me in said it was really slow that night. Here is my breakdown for my 1-night stay. The good 4/5 -Friendly front desk woman that checked me in. -Decent cable TV channels. -Comfortable bed. The Bad 3/5 -Their bathroom fan was really loud. -Their elevator had me second-guessing if I should use the stairs instead because it felt a bit shoddy and was a little bumpy for being only 3 floors. -Excessive noise from vehicles outside. -Dirty showerhead that was not mounted properly. -There were fewer options for breakfast than at their other Holiday Inn Express locations. -Below average juice quality and taste. The Ugly 1/5 I was going to use the bathtub but found some nasty-looking rust or something of the kind. -Their breakfast tasted old; maybe it's from yesterday's leftovers they just reheated due to lack of occupancy. I didn't see any bacon or hash browns or potatoes like other Holiday Inn Express properties. The biscuits were rock-solid hard and super dry, and the sausage links tasted old and not fresh like their egg omelettes. -Coffee tasted a bit sour for some reason, even with 1 pack of sugar and 2 pumps of creamer. -When checking out, I requested the final portfolio, but the morning crew couldn't provide one SMDH. It doesn't matter if guests booked through a third party; it should be available when asked. If I were in the Bay Area again and needed to choose a hotel/motel to stay in, this Holiday Inn Express in Morgan Hill, CA, would not be on my top 10 list.

When he visited his parents recently they had talked about MoHi and when they visited downtown, he saw the restaurant and automatically knew we needed to try it. We travel everywhere with our dogs and he found out that they had a dog friendly patio. A few months later, we were in town and decided to try it for breakfast. There were not a lot of reviews or pictures of breakfast so he made it a point to order some items recommended by our server, Ty - who was phenomenal by the way. Always checked in on us and even complimented how nice and chill our doggy was. We ordered a vanilla latte, orange juice, the breakfast pizza, and the eggs Benedict. The breakfast pizza came highly recommended by Ty. On paper it sounded delicious, but we were still reluctant, because a breakfast pizza? It was delicious, lol. They have a sauce on there that is very similar to what In-N-Out uses and the farm fresh eggs and cheese brought everything together. I decided to try the eggs benedict because the English muffin is scratch-made. The benedict was savory with confit potatoes and fruit. The only thing that threw me off was the fresh fruit was tossed in a pesto dressing. I can definitely do sweet and savory, and all the other weird, eclectic mixes, but this one was just too different for me. The orange juice was a highlight because they literally squeeze it right in front of you at the bar. They have other mixes that they can do as well like orange carrot or orange strawberry. So make sure you ask what is on the menu for fresh squeezed fruits because this one you don't wanna miss Outside there are at least 20 tables with dog friendly written all over the patio area. They have water bowls, turf, and even a cute little fire hydrant. There was a doggy on the patio already who was well-behaved. Overall, we'd be back to try the rest of the breakfast menu!

Southern Farm MOHI…read moreFarms delivers true farm-to-table dining as they serve up locally sourced seasonal ingredients, including some from their very own Uvas Farm. They are part of the Léal restaurant group, which has several similarly named restaurants in the works (MOHI Pasta and MOHI at the Grove), as well as a vineyard (Léal Vineyards) and a flower bar (Luxe Flower Bar). They also apparently own a theater, mansion, ranch, and an upcoming complex that will include housing, shops, and more restaurants. The Good: * Several free lots and free street parking * Catering available * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * They also have a bakery and café available if you're just looking for a light morning breakfast. * Service was friendly but stretched very thin during both our visits as the servers were working more tables than they should've been. * Overall, their pricing is very fair for the quality of the food. * Local beers on tap, as well as a large wine menu. * Wood-fired pizza oven. I didn't try the pizza, but my son wolfed it down. * Carissa loved her brunch Short Rib Fried Rice bowl, especially all the perfectly cooked butternut squash. * Tempura broccoli was fantastic. I loved that they served this instead of the ubiquitous fries to go with the burgers. The Meh: * I don't know why they can't have a menu on their website? The only way to view what's available is you have to pretend you're making an order. * The Brunch Loco Moco was just okay; the hamburger was a bit overcooked for my liking. Otherwise, the egg, rice, and gravy were delicious. * Their burger-to-bun-to-topping ratio is not good. It's mostly that their buns are much, much too thick for the tiny smashburger patties, and the whole thing ate very dry despite all the cheese. I did enjoy the crispiness of the bacon, though. * The salmon in the Roasted Salmon Bowl was also overcooked, and the amount of salmon for the price point wasn't really worth it, in our opinion. The Ugly: * Vegetarian Farm Spring Rolls were pretty bad, if I'm being honest. The only reason we wolfed them down was we had just arrived after a long 5+mile hike and were starving. The ricepaper skin was tough and leathery, and the filling wasn't very substantial. The sauce also needed to be thicker to stick to the rolls. * Parking can be a bit of a hassle, especially if you arrive during the nearby farmers market (Sat 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.), as they are located in the large parking lot on Depot St. Conclusion: Overall, we had very high hopes for this place, as this is the type of place we usually love. However, even after two visits, we just don't see ourselves coming back for another visit anytime soon.

We both opted for the red wine tasting and appreciated the variety. There were one or two I didn't like as much, but I loved being able to taste such different wines. We also decided to splurge and share the white wine tasting. I loved their Rose and one of their white wines. We ended up buying a bottle of the Red Syrah and White Fiano as gifts for friends. What really took this place up from 4 to 5 stars was house hospitable and kind the staff was! Dana in particular was so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in, asking how we ended up in Morgan Hill and congratulating us on our recent job offers. She even brought out some complimentary champage because she was so happy for our recent life changes! I have lived in the south AND the midwest, two places known for hospitality, but have never had a better experience with hospitality than here at MHC. We chose to do our tasting out on the garden patio. Once we got out there my first impression was of neglect and sadness. I hoped it wasn't going to be a reflection of the wines we'd be tasting. Unfortunately it was. All were bad, some worse than others. The "champagne" had no bubbles. We noticed this before we began our tasting. They all tasted like they came from bottles that had been opened weeks before being poured for our tasting. My fiancé asked if they had tasted the wines that morning to QC, and the tasting room hostess said she had. She either has no clue what the wine should taste like or she lied. Maybe both. We heard that this winery has been changing hands frequently and that in the past had produced good wine. I will keep my fingers crossed that who ever is the current owner will be able to turn this winery around. In the meantime I couldn't in good conscience recommend anyone making time to taste here.

Post-wedding review: venue was great…read more Coordination/answering questions regarding wedding planning was great. It was a bit annoying having to fill out the DJ forms several times and repeating similar info, but I understand we were caught in between them switching systems. Not everything was perfect, but nothing in life will ever be perfect. It was raining on the morning of the wedding, so we were very close to having to switch everything indoor. We made the call at around 2:30/3pm for a 4pm ceremony, so naturally some seats were missing and the staff had to shift things around last min. The staff graciously let us into the venue an hour early because the weather was not great. We had originally planned to start with the makeup service outdoor first. Venue's indoor bathroom toilets was not clean when we first entered. Good thing my bridesmaid checked and we were able to inform the staff before guests arrived. They took care of it immediately. I do highly recommend having a second coordinator, or have someone in the wedding party as well reversed in the wedding schedule/plan as the bride. There was mixed information at a point, and that resulted some confusion during the photos with friends and family at the alter. As a person who plans/organize/coordinate event for work occasionally, I couldn't help but felt the urge to push things along at several times during the wedding to keep the schedule on track. (Ie: vendors were supposed to eat at 6:30, so they can be ready to serve desserts/do photos at 7pm, but I had to remind the staff again. It's understandable that they wanted to wait for the vendors to be settled in first, but I really wanted to make sure things were on schedule since we only had 2 hours booked for the dessert vendor.) The DJ was good, but he did ask us questions on the day of. Some of those questions could've been redirected to the coordinator, but I guess he wanted to make sure. I did wish he asked some of the questions earlier since we had guests standing in front of the mansion & the wedding party was ready to make the grand entrance, but we were waiting for the DJ to ask questions and then make his way to his station. In the grand scheme of things, it was fine, but I was hoping for guests to do less waiting while doing nothing. The tabling layout was a bit off centered from what I had originally planned, but it was too chaotic on the day of to actually check and make adjustments. I was told that they needed to leave the space there originally so they can move things around, but that they will readjust the tables afterward. I did not have time to check the table after they did the first adjustment. As for the hor d'ourves, I was told that they'd prepare a separate plate for the bride and the groom, but it was actually a separate plate for the whole wedding party. I don't think we got enough for everyone because my husband and I only got to eat one out of the 5 we chose (we paid for extras). We did have to leave for photos immediately and asked the staff to put them in the bridal suite for us. My brother stole/ate a few of them while we were taking pictures, so I had to ask for more and they only had chicken skewer left...and it was cold.

They even gave me a discount which I'm truly grateful for. Claire our coordinator was very kind and helpful. During planning process we emailed many times. Then Christina( her manager) would take over. Christina was nice but I got a vibe she knew best. Felt rushed at times and communication felt insincere. I understand the time line was a quick one so that's not their issue. I knew they wanted to help. The food was delicious including the desserts!! We tasted the whole menu at the Granda a month prior. The food is excellent!! The decorations were completed by Luxe. Savannah who was very patient and met with my daughter and I twice to review. Quite pricey. Table centerpieces beautiful. Stairway was pretty. All decorations beautiful. The seating chart was done last minute and Christina did a wonderful job! I really appreciate Leal helping with last minute DJ and allowing an outside karaoke last minute. They did not need to do that, and they did! As far as the night of party lighting not so great. It was like a spotlight was on you. I had asked and a few others had asked about lighting. My daughter's theme was Midnight Enchanted garden. Way too bright. Willow heights allowed balloon company to come in early to help with balloon ceiling which was a super plus! I had hoped for a coffee station. Even though it was shared it would be there it was forgotten. S'mores area was darling but maybe a few low seats would have helped so kids could sit around fire pit. Dj Darren was great however I had hoped for him to help get the teens to dance. Maybe a dance off? My daughter hoped for that also. He had added some personalized touches which everyone greatly enjoyed. The staff was kind and helpful. This is not leals issue but it may have helped for coordinator to recommend photos outside with tea lights and fountain during night hours. I didn't think to ask photographer and photographer left before I could ask. I emailed a few times after event and no one responded. Would help to send out an after event review form. With that said I would book again. I'll just be more in advance and I'll be strict with asks.
