That said, I still had a great time overall thanks to the entertainment. If you're going for the laughs, it's worth it--just don't go for the food.

The rows of seats are graduated like a small movie theater. The lighting was great. The actors wear mics to enhance the sound. The offer popcorn and snacks for purchase. You can also purchase bottled water. If you want an alcoholic drink, you must purchase a "Stageworks" tumbler for $20. It comes filled with your drink of choice on the first round and then you pay for the addition drinks with a by the glass cost. You can bring the tumbler back each time. There was a little bit of a wait at intermission for the bathrooms. Of course, us ladies always have to wait no matter the venue. The staff were great in assisting us to the other more hidden restrooms. Everyone was friendly and the night was terrific. The theater is in a shopping center. Parking is free. You can buy tickets online and then pick them up at will call.

I came for the last showing of Pearl Fishers, which is a traditional French Opera. We got middle balcony seats using a student discount for 10 bucks a ticket. That's a steal! The production value was great, one non changing stage, costumes remained constant also, but they were very colorful and appeasing to the eyes. The plot could been a little bit better planned and acting was eh, but the singing was superb. It's a small space so basically every seat in the house is a good view. I like the smaller intimate theaters because you feel like you are part of the show, especially when some of the singers walk up the aisles onto the stage. If $10 is too much to "TRY" out the opera, they offer a free dress rehearsal where you can can take pictures!!! I will be back for another show.

We were not happy. The ticket agent at the front notified the manager who came to talk to us, get some clarification on what had happened and see what he could do to remedy the situation. He (regretfully we did not get his name) went above and beyond to make us happy. He had seats and a table moved into an available space, provided ticket passes and numerous other compensation for the missed step in ticket rescheduling. We had a wonderful experience watching the movie in comfort with good food and spot on service. We will definitely be returning. Any establishment that provides such high quality service deserves much support!

Tickets were on the pricier end especially since it was a Thursday night, but not a big deal. The workers were friendly, and the seats were EXTREMELY comfortable & cushy... I still think about them to this day... I also thought it was nice how movie viewers could order food and the workers would come serve it on a platter! I'm not too familiar with any deals or memberships that the River Oaks Theatre may have compared to its big name competitors, but I highly recommend everyone to experience a film here at least once! The tickets were easy to buy online and I even got a student discount and my mom got the senior discount ($10 off each ticket). About a week before the show, I received and email that informed me of free parking at each show in their garage, which is almost unheard of when going to the theatre! We arrived about 30 minutes before the show started to see the theatre and it is beautiful! There could not be a bad seat in the whole place! We were in row G on the lower level and it was a great view!! The whole cast of the play was so fun and great at acting! I enjoyed the performance here just as much (if not more than) a show in the city at some of the larger theaters!! I can't wait to see what else this theatre has to offer and come back for another show!
