Really cute, small theater in the neighborhood. A friend's daughter was in a production for the summer children's class so I tagged along w the proud parents to see Urinetown: The Musical (the kids & teachers had 2 weeks to prepare for the production & I was very impressed!) . The theater has an attached parking garage for convenience as everyone knows how parking is in this area. Small, clean lobby, ample bathroom stalls & an intimate theater with a balcony area. Seriously when I say intimate, I mean every seat in this place guarantees a good view of the stage. I will be checking their website for shows as this was a very nice experience! read more

I came to the Queensbury Theatre to watch Elf: The Musical with my mom and I was so impressed by this small theatre in Memorial! The tickets were easy to buy online and I even got a student discount and my mom got the senior discount ($10 off each ticket). About a week before the show, I received and email that informed me of free parking at each show in their garage, which is almost unheard of when going to the theatre! We arrived about 30 minutes before the show started to see the theatre and it is beautiful! There could not be a bad seat in the whole place! We were in row G on the lower level and it was a great view!! The whole cast of the play was so fun and great at acting! I enjoyed the performance here just as much (if not more than) a show in the city at some of the larger theaters!! I can't wait to see what else this theatre has to offer and come back for another show! read more

Went tonight to see A Christmas Carol. It's a very interesting take to have a one-man show, but they definitely had the right man doing it. John Stevens is spectacular. This seems to be the makings of a great theatre. Kind of reminds of Steppenwolf in Chicago. They were very hospitable; treat you as if you're in their home. We were served homemade figgy pudding and a warm spiced cider at intermission. Though unnecessary, we were pleased to even have our parking validated. It's the little things, the finishing touches, that made our first night at Queensbury an overall memorable experience. We look forward to spending a lot of time there in the near future. read more

I love the theater but I find myself going to the same venues. When Houston Blues Society membership put together an outing to see "Nothing but the Blues", I jumped at chance to take in this beautiful Westside theater. It has been around for 60 years in different iterations but the latest is absolutely first class. The staff, seating and lines of sight were great. The cast wore mics that occasionally had static or went out which was distracting but not fatal. Complimentary wine before the show and at intermission. Free parking across the street on garage floors 4&5 or $5 adjacent to the building. Will definitely come back. Tip: Goldstar offers discount tickets to most shows read more

Really nice theatre with a lot of friendly folks running the place. I took my girlfriend to see Man of La Mancha and it was very good. The actors did a fantastic job. The theatre itself isn't necessarily huge, but it sat quite a few people. There is a big parking garage next to the theatre, and they validate your parking so it doesn't cost you anything which is nice. I received my tickets for free, but from the pricing I saw they did seem a tad expensive. I don't go to many plays though. Overall if you are okay with the pricing of the tickets, then I think you will have a very enjoyable time. read more

Amazing jewel of a theater company in Houston! I went last night and saw the musical 'Violet', directed by the Producing Executive Director, Marley Singletary. The production was top notch! Many of the actors belong to the Broadway Union "Actors Equity" which means- they are crazy talented! The lighting and stage design was world class- seriously- who knew this incredible theatrical experience was waiting for me right in the middle of City Center!?! I cannot express how impressive the high level of talent & quality theater Queensbury Theater puts out! I was surprised once inside how comfortable the seats were with plenty of leg room. The parking is super easy and they validate your parking pass inside the theater so it was FREE! The ticket pricing to the shows range but are approx $50 each & there are refreshments to buy and you're allowed to bring it inside to your seats. I'm truly looking forward to their holiday show so I can bring my entire family and kick off the holiday cheer! Definitely add this jewel box theater to your "to do" list of things to do in Houston! read more

Country Playhouse is now Queensbury Theatre. I saw Man of La Mancha -- fantastic! The building is really nice -- it still has a small-theater feel, but it seats maybe 200 or so people. The musical was great. Actors were top-notch. A few items to note: First, second-floor seating in the main theatre is good, but if you are 5'5" or so and sit on the first row of the second floor, you'll have to lean forward to see actors who stand on the edge of the stage. It's a small thing, but a little annoying. Second, the ticket prices are slightly higher than most community theaters. I've read this is because they are showing plays and musicals that require high royalty fees. (Plus obviously, it's a new and very nice building, in an area with expensive property.) I think it's a good compromise -- ticket prices that are higher than other community theaters, but lower than the downtown theaters, for entertainment that you'd usually only see in the downtown theaters. This is a really nice addition to the City Centre/Town & Country/Memorial City area. read more

This place is great! The staff are wonderful, and I really enjoyed their Wednesday middle school production of Beauty and the Beast! You should all come to see it and its wonderful directors as well as donate large amounts of money to their various school funds. 5/5! read more

A beautiful facility that serves the west side of Houston with both theater productions and theater training for the young and old. I personally love theater and being next to the stage is great in my opinion--which Queensbury has in spades. As it just opened in June 2015. It has all that you like about a "new" facility. Houston has small theaters surrounding it in every suburb and left over movie theater, warehouse and strip shopping center. The problem is that regional theaters get old and lack funding for face lifts and improvements. Queensbury puts them all to shame right now since replacing the old Town & County Playhouse. The staff is the best in Houston for young people to learn acting, dancing, singing and production. I loved the Shrek Jr production. I was intrigued by the Wait Until Dark. I wish I had seen their Star Wars Comedy Sports, Man of La Mancha and one man show by the Avatar movie actor. Located in City Center a great place for dinner and a show. It's going through growing pains, like all new things it must work on finding how to promote its shows, but I'll be back as the cost and the facilities are just right. read more

We recently had our yearly flamenco show at the Queensbury Theater. First, there is no need to state the obvious, but the theater is brand new, and it is gorgeous. Everything both front and back stage is clean and well taken care of. Second, I was truly impressed with the people that work there, especially JC, Pablo, Justin and Brent; everyone was highly professional, involved, polite, and interested in making our experience the best it could possibly be. I am very happy that I selected this venue for my event, and I hope to go back next year. read more
