We were greeted pleasantly, had the good fortune not to have to wait, and were treated to a care by a nurse practitioner or physicians assistant who was extremely competent, patient, gentle, compassionate and thoughtful. I don't usually write reviews here, but my treatment in this clinic was very unsatisfactory. I received treatment here 5 years ago, and now I have just graduated college as a pre-medical student currently studying for the MCAT to become a doctor. My experience in this clinic taught me exactly how doctors and healthcare workers should NOT treat their patients. I realized that the individuals here lacked the empathy, understanding, and connection a healthcare professional should have with their patients when treating them. The individuals in this clinic belittled me and the pain I was suffering through at the time behind my back, and loud enough so I could here. I was groaning in pain. I hope to NEVER EVER be like them when I become a practicing physician one day. We called earlier, learned it closed at 830pm, got there at 755 and was told they could take no one else. We could have been told that on the phone ... but this was really inconvenient (and avoidable if they just said something.) And our request was simple, too, an antibiotic for possible tick bite. my finger was badly infected. . the Receptionist was nice and the Nurse was great. The Physician's Assistant was Christine Campion. Think of Champion Campion . She was friendly, very conscientious, and knowledgeable. She lanced the infection to remove the puss and gave prescriptions for infection. I went for a finger infection on a weekend and the intake person, medical assistant and PA were all very professional and welcoming. It was a quiet weekend morning so was in and out pretty quickly. I can no longer with good conscience recommend this urgent care center to anybody. I took my son there after hanging prolonged and worsening respiratory symptoms, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting. After waiting an hour a NP came in and spent three minutes with us in the exam room. The three minutes included asking questions, an "exam" and saying it was viral. She was dismissive and bedside manner was horrid. She said to call his doctor if he didn't improve in 5 days. The more I thought about it ,the angrier I got. So, the next morning my son went to the pediatrician who sent him for X-rays at NWH. The x-rays revealed bacterial pneumonia and he needed antibiotics. Suggesting he wait 5 days before seeking medical care again was unconscionable. Pneumonia is pretty serious. I will never again rely on this urgent care location and I urge you to go elsewhere. read more

I called first to ask if I could come in to be tested stating that I had trouble reading the BinaxNow covid test and it had appeared negative but I had been positive a few days prior for two weeks. I was told to come in. It was Easter Sunday but there was no one in the waiting room and when I said I needed to be tested I was told they didn't RETEST repeatedly -- I counted at least 4 employees all repeating the same mantra. They weren't even nice about the issue. Perhaps they didn't want to be there on Easter Day but they were nasty despite the fact that there wasn't a single patient there. I told them that I could be walking around giving other people covid -- they didn't care. The Urgent Care in Needham next to Trader Joe's is a far better place to go even though it isn't in my network. read more

Just go to the ER instead and SKIP this place. It'll end up costing you more because they can't get their billing process together. $50 co-pay from insurance (same as ER) for the Doctor on site to tell me she couldn't really do anything after simply checking vitals. She just wrote a generic cough medicine prescription. Then a few weeks later I get an EMAIL before receiving the actual updated BILL saying I am responsible for another $25?! What is this additional charge for? Are you guys charging me for the tea and hot chocolate we consumed, which I thought was complimentary? Sure their waiting area is high-tech with iPad check in... They also have a variety of coffee and tea for you to choose from. Then a snack bin in the back with the patient rooms. I also double checked my insurance cards and it says clear as day it is $50 Emergency Room / Urgent Care Visit. Bottom line this place is GREEDY FOR PROFIT wasteland under the unscrupulous Partners organization. (FYI same as Newton-Wellesley Hospital, which is equally slimy.) I am still in shock over the rudeness of the receptionist. Upon my entering the building at 8:26 with a child whose hand was bandaged and bleeding, she looked up and barked "we are closed". I said "the website says 9" and she retorted "the website says we stop taking patients a half hour before". When I pointed out that it was 8:26", she repeated with no smile, no apology, no referral to another place or empathy "we are closed". This is American healthcare? What a disgrace. My problem isn't that she would not take us: what troubles me is the tone with which she treated a distressed individual. There are a million ways she could have reacted; she chose the rudest one. This is the most unprofessional urgent care, and I WOULD NOT recommend this location to anyone. I have been there twice within this month and my experiences were not positive. I had fallen and my forehead, nose and knees were gushing blood. I was told and my sister-in-law, who brought me, to put gauze compresses on these areas and the nurse or whatever she is..walked out of the room. The X-ray technician did not know what she was doing and we ended up going to the ER anyway, which we should have done in the first place. I will never go back to this location ever again. After suffering at home for one week with worsening Covid symptoms, this urgent care facility didn't hesitate to let me be seen unlike AFC who turned me away due to my Covid diagnosis. The facility was nice and clean, I was seen within 10 minutes of checking in (I went about an hour after they had opened) and Dr Alexandra Masullo was so kind! She answered all of my questions and gave me peace of mind, and she listened to what I was experiencing. She gave me a steroid to help with my discomfort and recommended lots of supportive care options. I really felt thankful that they provided me such great care. Doctor, nursing staff and the facility itself was very nice but I've been here twice and despite making an online "appointment" each time it's still really just first come, first serve, and you're take your chances just like the ER. First time I went for a simple prescription refill I waited THREE HOURS. There were two people ahead of me. Second time there was no receptionist--they said she just didn't show--and again two people ahead of me. It took about an hour. The place is just grossly understaffed--plan to be here all day. I wouldn't go for a genuine medical emergency, like if you're bleeding or have broken bones--so not sure really what this place is good for other than when your primary goes on holiday. read more

We just came here with our 4yr old son for a potential ear infection. It was our first time here and I was excited that there was one close to our home, however, after this experience we will not be coming back. The young nurse who helped us was not kind, patience nor helpful. We know it's not easy dealing with a screaming toddler, but what 4yr old like getting water spurting into his ear over and over again. We have never had a worst experience at an urgent care and we have been to a few due to having two young boys. Good Lord don't go here. If you need Urgent care go to the ER. I was feel awful bad cold thought it was the Flu. my symptoms were getting worse. I went to the Minute Clinic prior to visiting here the nurse at the Minute was concerned about fluid in my lungs and recommended a Chest X-ray. So my Options where Urgent care Clinic or the ER. The Urgent care Clinic is just a short walk from my home. I can't Drive and in a wheelchair so the ER was out. I was a Walk-in lucky for me I went at a good time nobody was waiting. The Check lady was very nice did a short survey & was offered a refreshment. Very Nice. The Place was extremely nice all modern & their medical equipment was top notch. The Nursing staff was top notch as well. showed me to my suite not a room. It was very nice, It even had free Cable & Wifi. Sweet. Now that's where it ended. The Doctor walked in stood in the doorway looked at me with this "Why are you here, Your taking up my time, Go away" look and an attitude to match. Nope! what a Jerk. He had no notes of papers chart-work in his hands nothing. He didn't look at any reports. It was like he was "Using the Force" "Paint by Numbers" medicine. He said let's do an X-ray. again Nope! Their X-ray room is not equipped for a person in a wheelchair with Transfer problems. So I went back to my room the Doctor said go to the ER you can leave now. What! I got no Medical Care got my Vitals taken and a Free Coke! And they will charge my Insurance a Butt-Load of money. What a Rip Off. Do Not Go Here. The place is not equipped to handled anyone in a wheelchair. There is not even a power door at this place. not that piss's me off. read more

The front desk person (Katrina) was rude and dismissive--not a great way to start our visit. She repeated twice that my son (age 7) had to put on a mask, despite the fact that he had it on right when we walked in the door, and she seemed annoyed when I repeated that he had it on already. When I asked how long, she responded that she had no idea. When I asked if there was the ability to text when ready, so I could wait with my son in the car, she was openly annoyed. There were 4 people ahead of us. She ended up letting a 5th person go in before us, for reasons unknown. I waited there, with my young son, for 2.5 hours. When we finally were let in, they did quick tests for strep, covid, and flu, and we were done in 15 minutes (the tech, Mandy was kind and efficient, as was the NP). I understand that sometimes there is a long wait, but the person who is interacting with customers can really make or break an experience. In this case, the awful service means we will never go there again, and would not recommend to anyone else. read more

I was happy to make use of this Urgent Care clinic near my house to get antibiotics for a recurrent infection in my foot. The third time I showed up, Dr. Breda got tough with me -- in a good way, as I'll describe. He said we have got to get to the bottom of this infection. It can't just be continually treated with antibiotics. Honestly, the infection was bad and I really wanted the antibiotics but I knew he was right. Dr. Breda took a scalpal to the callous on my foot and opened it up. He showed me that the instrument was going in a 1/4". "There is a fluid-filled absess there. And then I'm hitting metal." When he said that I was like ... how did I forget? But I had, uh, kind of forgotten that at age 17, 5 years after a very bad vehicular accident, doctors had rebroken my foot (because it hadn't set right back when the injury happened, partly because the injury happened overseas in a developing country) and put in a pin. That was 40 years ago. I had gotten fixated on a callous being the problem and my podiatrist had assumed so also and we hadn't understood why my foot kept getting infected. The truth was that the metal pin had gotten infected. It was Dr. Breda's insistence on finding out what was wrong which helped me figure out the problem. From that point, I was able to explain to a wound specialist and was later scheduled for surgery to remove the pin. Indeed, I'm recovering at Mass General Hospital as I write this review following successful removal of the pin. [And I will have 6-8 weeks of a pic line at home to clear up the infection.] Thank you Dr. Breda for "digging deeper" and helping me figure out the problem. read more

Went to this location because it was a lil bit closer to my house and I didn't feel like driving to the one in Woburn. Big mistake..I went in because I was not feeling well and told the NP what was wrong. She looked annoyed the minute she came into my room and mind you I waited so long for someone to come in to check on me. She went and told the PA (Hope) what was going on and the proceeded with the exam. The Np didn't have good bedside manners at all. And they didn't even tell me any good home remedies to make me feel any better. Basically they tested me but if everything was normal and I still feeling like shit, to follow up with my pcp. I went in with severe side pain. I had a high temperature (101.3) and they did NOT do any tests on me even AFTER I told them what I thought it was. Pain didn't get any better, which because of their HORRIBLE care, it landed me in the hospital's emergency room and THEY diagnosed me with a SEVERE UTI with a sepsis in my kidney. I was away for ANOTHER few days from my kid. This place is horrible! Do NOT go here!!!! read more

Find another urgent care facility. My wife and I ended up here at 8:00pm on a Sunday night for my wife having flu-like systems. They close at 9:00pm. We were greeted by a very rude receptionist who was quick to remind us they close in "15 minutes" (no you don't) and was clearly annoyed by our arrival. If you don't want to be open until 9pm, then close earlier! The doctor finally saw us after an assistant conducted a flu test. After asking my wife about 10 questions the doc finally mentions oh, and you don't have the flu. Way to bury the lead story, doc. As we were rushed out at 8:50pm, the receptionist had already turned off the lights and locked the door. I understand this is not an enjoyable gig seeing whiny sick people all day, but that's the gig you chose. No one coming to see you is happy to be there. At least pretend that you're not as equally as unhappy to see them. We will be sure to recommend and utilize a competing facility going forward. read more

Please, do yourself a favor and do not go here. Our issues started when we kicked off our search for medical care. We are relatively new to the greater Boston area, so we tried an online search to see where would be best to get care for what we suspected to be the flu or potentially something associated to that. Partners "Urgent" care, may offer some sort of care, but it is definitely NOT urgent to them. Here were the list of issues that we ran into. 1) Online Experience: Poor When first trying to book a spot, the website was glitchy. OK, not the worst so we gave a call. Still, no answer, but eventually we got routed to someone who told us the place was open. We did not think too much about this, so we went ahead to the location to check-in. 2) Front Desk Staff: Even More Poor Here was where things got really bad. We were given a wait-time of at least 2 hours. The waiting room was about 1/4 full at most, and we were given no rationale as to why or if there would potentially be any delays. We made a few attempts at inquiring about more information, but it almost felt like we were answered with hostility and anger. After we waited 2 hours, we were given an update that there were still (at least) 4 patients ahead of us in line. Why would it be 'at least' 4 patients and why can't we get any more specific information? If there are many doctors in the back, 4 may be quick. if there is only 1 attending practitioner, that could take over another hour of waiting... maybe even 2. The front desk attendant was both unprofessional and quite honestly, a bit rude when we inquired about any updates. We were just expected to wait around for god knows how long. Oh, and at one point she coughed right into my face because she herself seemed sick. Long story short, we left and got care at another location. There, we were attended in 15 minutes. Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you are caring for yourself or a sick one. 3) Overall Experience: Avoid This Place I have lived in a handful of states in the northeast and in the south, and I can assure you that this has been the worst experience I have had with any medical care provider. At least at other doctors offices, or other urgent care locations, there is at least a sense of kindness or reason for you to want to stay to seek medical attention there. That was not this. It was regrettable because the waiting area seemed to be somewhat clean, which was about the only silver lining I can think of. read more

Although the COVID test went fine, the follow up has been wholly insufficient. It has taken 48 hrs to get a proper letter regarding the results of a test for school. Visit went very smooth. I knew I had an ear infection and sure enough, that's what it was. I was in and out within 20 minutes. No other patients in the waiting room so I was checked in very efficiently by Martha. The facility is neat and clean. Saywa took my vitals and I waited less than 5 minutes for the provider. His name was Mark (I truthfully do not remember if said he was an MD or a Nurse Practioner etc) He asked me a bit about my history, examined my ears, prescribed antibiotic drops and sent the Rx to my pharmacy. Done in no time, I was pleased. I am told Partners will be opening a new location next month in Natick. That will be better for me. Closer to my home. read more

Just terrible service. Did the right thing and made an appointment... Showed up when we were supposed to and they checked us in. Got a bit of an attitude because the front desk lady couldn't figure out my insurance but I brushed it off... Should have heeded that bad omen. Incompetent worker knew we were there to check for the flu and didn't bother to tell us they were out of the tests. She should be ashamed of herself. 1pm appointment, by 1:10pm I was in the little room where you wait for the "doctor". (Not actually a doctor - a physicians assistant) By 2pm, I was livid. Still no service. What kind of URGENT CARE makes you wait an hour? I went out to complain and they gave the excuse that a person in front of me was really urgent so they were working in them. I said "for an hour? If the person needs an hour with the doctor, isn't that more an ER issue???" Turns out, they were just helping everyone else after us for some reason...maybe because it was just for a stomach bug. All I know is is that we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes to see someone for 8 minutes. And there were not that many people there...in fact, if they were really "backed up" like they said they were, wouldn't there be people in the waiting room? It was empty. So my advice is don't bother with an appointment, they don't matter and if you can, try the minute clinic at the CVS first. Imagine my rage when I found out that I could have just seen the nurse on duty at the very CVS my prescription was sent to!!! What a waste of a Sunday. They sure processed my insurance quick though!! And they conveniently didn't give me their customary survey at the end of their appointment. They always hand you the tablet and ask you to rate them...what a coincidence they neglected to give it. After being turned down by the Watertown location at 20.20 (closing time is at 21.00), we visited this location at 20.35. The front desk nurse, Mary, was extremely understanding, apologized for our ordeal driving around and being turned down at the previous location, and immediately checked us in. An absolutely horrible experience here. The font desk host is extremely incompetent and slow at her job. There were many people waiting in line because she could not perform her basic duties like looking up insurance policies and entering people's information into the system without grabbing her manager to do it for her. On multiple occasions she would forget to perform the Covid questionnaire and would have to call people back to the front desk. People who had scheduled appointments were waiting an extra hour due to backup on her part. This location lacks attention to detail for the most basic stuff. There are much better places to receive quality healthcare from at a short notice. Do yourself and go to the Newton Wellesley ER, you're better off. read more
