Let me say my masseuse was not one of the ones mentioned. She was not very friendly. Didn't ask what brought me in or if I had any areas of focus. Just looked at the paper I filled out said ok and that was that. She was so rough even after I told her it was hurting very badly. She said it was my fault I have knots so it's going to hurt but didn't let up on the pressure or get out of that area. I have RA and Lupus and severe joint and muscle pain which I did advise of. I was writhing when she touched certain spots and it seemed she pressed harder. I asked for my lower back to get some attention but that didn't happen either she stayed up top. I usually get a good nap and feel great after a good massage but that did not happen this time. I couldn't relax. I went home and have been so sore (not in a good way either). I can't move my shoulders, arms or bend down. My neck is stiff and I've had a migraine since I left. I may try again with someone else but I'm on the fence. Just an update: it's a week after my terrible experience. No one from the spa has reached out. No one has acknowledged my experience. I am still in terrible pain that was caused by the masseuse. I'm now having pain, shocks running down my mid back and legs from the excessive pressure the masseuse used after I told her it was too much, after I told her it was hurting, after she told me it was my fault because of my knots.

When I called to schedule an appointment, I was told that their HydraFacial machine was not functioning and they were unable to schedule an appointment for me. I was a bit confused because I figured there would be a date they anticipated the machine to be fixed and schedule out. A couple weeks or a month seems reasonable for a 30 minute facial treatment that runs $150-300 retail. Well, they had no idea when it would be fixed and told me to get a refund from Groupon. The call seemed a bit suspicious. I wonder if they sold more Groupons than expected or realized the Groupon deal wouldn't be worth their time. Groupon gave me a full refund.

We've been to numerous places for massage over the years. Zen is one of the few where the masseuses used the perfect pressure and worked the exact areas we wanted (even without us specifying). Tina and Amy are strong and provide deep pressure massages (and use oil and hot stones) so I recommend them if that is your preference. Their adorable dog greeted us during and after our massage. Plus we received tea and bottled water after the massage. The massages are easy and quick to schedule online, in-person, or by phone. Pay after the massage. Fingernails were not cleaned out and had to ask. Only went back and did just one. Polish was not applied smoothly or evenly in the two coats. There were streaks and bubbles. Didn't take it to the edges of skin, while leaving nail polish remnants on some fingertips. Finally just let her finish and departed, thinking I'd probably have to take this all off at home. It's not bothering me as much now, cosmetically, but I'm disappointed that my cuticles aren't even groomed well, which is what I'd mainly gone to a nail tech for.
