My aunt generously gifted is a full body couples massage + $15 prepaid tip each for our anniversary at this spot. Formerly known as Massage by Sue Sue, located at the Target shopping center off Ynez Rd & Rancho California Rd. The massage itself was good and I had Lucy. I like my massages very hard to where I'm sore the next few days so I kept asking her to go harder especially on my upper back. She aims to please!! I was definitely sore but felt great!!! The place is really clean and very relaxing. Only thing I didn't like was that I asked for a couples massage (meaning we would be in the same room). However, they had us in separate rooms, not sure why when there was a room w 2 tables in it (though may have been a bit small for 4 people to be in there: hubby & I, and our masseuses). Also, the next day I had noticed that I had gotten a bad rash on the back of my neck as well as my arm creases and bra line. It's gone now but stuck around for about 5-6 days. Idk if they use cheap oil bc I've never broken out from any massage place I've ever been to, just this one... that was the only thing different I'd done in the last week, could be that. My husband and I decided to try out a new massage place. I called ahead and got us scheduled right away. They had a $1 charge for card payments, which was fine, but what bothered me was that they immediately asked for a tip as soon as they collected payment. I wasn't sure if they were going to add it to the card or if they wanted cash. They had signs all over saying "Tips are appreciated," which I understand, but I didn't see the point of tipping before even getting the massage. When we arrived, we were escorted to the room, and we were asked twice if we wanted separate rooms. We had booked a couples massage, so we didn't want separate rooms. Then, another lady asked us and again I said no. She said the room was too small, but I didn't arrange or set up the rooms, so that was frustrating. The massage itself was okay. One of the ladies was all over the place, and the other one must have been heavy-handed because three days later, I feel like I was hit by a bus and I have bruises. In addition, the essential oils used during the massage are of very high quality, and the smell is fresh and natural, which will not make people feel any discomfort. Horrible! THIS WOMAN SPIT ON ME!!! I came in and requested a deep tissue massage. What I got was a weak rubbing. I specifically asked the woman to use more pressure the whole time, and she never did. When I left, she DEMANDED a tip , I told her I didn't get what I asked for so I didn't feel that I should tip. Then she spit on me as I walked out the door!!!! I've never been so insulted in my life. We have been very impressed with the quality and consistency of the massages. I have had 3 different massage therapists, and all have been great. Omg! I this was the best massage I've ever had and I've had ridiculously expensive massages at 5 star hotels and spas and this was better than all of them for only $65!! My masseuse was Lily. From the little details like covering my hair with care to make sure I didn't get oil on it to kneaded every little muscle in my neck I was beyond impressed. I requested hard pressure and she did a fantastic job- most masseuses leave me underwhelmed at thier version of "hard". She kept asking if the pressure was ok which was also great because I always find it awkward to tell someone it's not the pressure I want halfway through the massage. When she used her elbows it was never applied over bone or sensitive areas. She asked if I wanted to integrate hot stone (which was not an extra charge) and I was willing to try. It was amazing! I will say it was a bit chilly in the room so the stone warmed me perfectly. I literally cannot emphasize how good her technique was. It was also amazing that she used a hot towel to wipe away all the oil. You know it's good, when you leave slightly head high from your massage :) Ugh I'm sad I don't live here or I'd be a regular! read more
