I would give this place negative stars if I could. My husband bought me a gift card here last year so I figured I would book a massage and use it. Well long story short, I got suckered in to buying the membership after my first visit, which would have been great if I could still use it. They have taken ALL my money for a year and all the "credits" I have can't be used. I don't have a vehicle to get to ANY location now that my husband is back to work, and, Idk how, but they are always booked and it's not convenient for my schedule. Somehow, that's my fault? Why would you pay for a service that inconveniences your time AND your wallet? Wild. I say all of this because I was very clear at the beginning when signing up for this BS and asked if I could cancel at any time. KNOWING That I was moving in a few months and would be too far with no vehicle. The lady that signed me up blatantly told me YES. That I COULD cancel at any time. You guessed it, I was suckered in to a YEAR contract that I could not cancel. I sent proof that I was not able to go to the location any longer, that I had moved more than 25 miles away from that location. And it just so happens that ANY other location I could have canceled at any time, but this one in particular, you can not. After countless phone calls to the reception desk with no return phone call in sight from a manager or supervisor, I decided to come here and add to the already terrible reviews for this sorry establishment. Glad that I could get that new girl her first sale. She was so excited she forgot to mention she lied to me and wasn't trained to tell people that they are roped in for a year! Congratulations! Let's start with Hayley who works at the ME in the Highlands. She hung up on me when she found out I had the documentation to back up my claims. (pictured below). She blamed ME's error on their change of management and stated it was not ME's fault that my husband was changed the full rate. Who's fault is it?? OURS? I canceled my membership in December and was told I had 60 days to schedule out massages with accumulated points. The last scheduled appointment was today, March 13 @12:45pm for 90 minutes. (see below). I called last night to inform them I was sick and asked if my husband could take my place. I was told "yes." NOTHING ELSE. I inquired about my "free" replacement appointment that I have been trying to re-schedule since January. I got some lame rhetoric about a change of managers. I asked about the re-scheduled appointment on February 27th and again on February 13th. No one from ME reached out to me to reschedule. (see email below dated Feb 27th) The best thing that could happen to this location of ME would be to close it down. Practices are shady, unethical, designed to rip off customers. I know this is a franchise business and I've been to other locations that are WONDERFUL! This one, however is trash. When Hayley was asked why she did not mention the full charge during our call yesterday, her reply was "I assumed you knew?" WHAT??? I thought Texas had an employment law that humans under the age of 16 could not be employed??? My 9th graders could have come up with a more respectful response! Something has to be done about the front desk staff. They often mess up appointments without consequence. For example, today after booking my appointment at least one month in advance as always immediately following my appointment with my favorite masseuse, I received a call 2 weeks ago cancelling the appointment as my masseuse would not be available. No problem. A mere few days ago, I receive a text confirming this very same appointment. (How?!) No problem. I confirmed it, and took the extra initiative to call, not once, but 4 times to confirm the appointment was still happening. No answer. Waited a few hours and called again. I finally spoke to someone. They apologized for the miscommunication and stated that my appointment was in fact, confirmed. Today, I came in for my appointment. Not only did the receptionist not know who I was, even after giving her my name, she state that my appointment was not until tomorrow. (What?!) I told her that I have the text message confirming the appointment and I took the extra step to call and confirm it 2 days ago. The receptionist stared at me like, what do you want me to do? No resolution or anything. I've done. Y'all have at it. I'm not coming back. I may call corporate, I'm just that pissed. read more

I've been a member of this location for 4 years and have used the same therapist for 4 years. The customer service is great and my therapist is amazing!!! They call you the day before to give you a reminder of your appointment. There is plenty of parking but always good to get to appointment 10 minutes in advance just in case there is parking issues. If you don't cancel or reschedule your appointment 3 - ours in advance they will charge you. Happy relaxing. read more

Oh my dear Lord....I booked an appointment here because I had experienced some pain in my shoulder. I received the worst massage of my entire life. The masseuse barely touched me and without any pressure on the areas I asked for my shoulder. At some points she was either on her phone or just distracted because she would sporadically touch one area with one hand only for a prolonged time. Then she kept belching on me! I told the front desk when they asked about my experience and all they would offer me was deducting the essential oil treatment valued at $10. I wasted $125.00 on the worst massage of my life and went down the road to another establishment right after that to get an actual massage. I was VERY pleased with the safety precautions and cleanliness that I experienced when going for my massage appointment. So been going to this locations exclusively since I became a member May 2012. It was my birthday week. You know how you get that free enhancement on your birthday? Didn't get it in an email this time (will later find out after I contacted corporate it was a glitch on their end). Asked the manager on duty about it, she had a nasty attitude. Said she see it is my birthday, but won't give it to me. I had to go back to my massage, but when I came out, she checked me out and I asked her why she couldn't have just let me have the birthday enhancement. She mouthed off to me "Oh, you want something for free?" I looked her for a moment and was like well, yeah, aren't birthday enhancements free? She mouthed off to me a bit more like I was some gal, like it was 1940 or something. I told her I'll contact corporate about her attitude. She told me go ahead. So she spoke to me in such a manner and got away with it because even though there is a corporate office with a guest relations line and email, they franchise out and don't keep their locations in check at all. The franchise owner called me, she spoke to me like I was some gal as well. Basically called me a liar and told me that the manager had been there a while and would never do that. Well I have been a member at this location since 2012 and she never heard me complain or this location report me to her. So who gets the benefit of the doubt here? Her manager. I think they were friends. Oh, and the franchise owner told me there was an employee that witnessed it and said the manager didn't say those things to me....you mean the employee that was on the phone two computers down from where I was and checking out a customer? That employee? Ok, lady if you say so. Like that employee would concur with me anyways, her paycheck is at stake! That was dumb to even bring up, but shows how unprofessional they all are. Anywho, told the franchise owner I wanted to end my membership if I was going to be treated that way. She could have cared less and emailed me the cancelation form.....so much for retaining a member that has been going to your location for over 7 years.....Then the franchise owner going to send me an email telling me to go to the Southlake location. Ok, so I live near this location, yet she is telling me to go way up there to finish my massages. Can't make any of this up people, I have the emails to prove it. Told her I will finish out my massages at the Arlington location if I so choose and she needs to stop her shenanigans of taking up for that manager friend of her and stop making a member since 2012 the bad guy. But it's all good. Karma is going to pop both of these women upside the back of their heads. You can't talk to and treat people like sub humans and think it's okay. Every time I try to call too make an appointment, no one ever answers the phone. I leave a message and maybe a few hours later I get a call back, but like always I am usually busy working by that time. Then I try to call again and guess what? Yep, you guessed it, no answer. This place has gone down hill since I joined in 2012. Also, a 90 minute or 60 minute massage is 15-20 minutes less than that. I didn't want to believe it. I joined in June 2014 for massages. I found I was not a massage person and asked if I could trade the massages for facials - not at this location and I had to pay an additional $20 for the "products." I declined. I had 6 massages that I did not use, but I paid for and never asked for a refund. In June, when my contract was expiring, I contacted them, asked about the remaining massages and if I could give to other people I worked with to use and they stated NO. To me, that was like a store telling you that you cannot give your purchase to anyone else. So I asked to have my membership closed. At no time during the conversation did anyone tell me I needed to come in and fill out a form, or I would have. Recently, I was going through one of my bank accounts and saw that Massage Envy was still billing me and had been for July, August, September. I contacted them and am just amazed at the level of unprofessionalism. First - I was questioned about even calling implying that I did not do this. They I was told that no one on their staff would have not told me to come in and fill out a form, and lastly, to come out and fill one out to cancel. I told them I wanted this cancelled effective June 2014 and was told that was "up to the person who owned the place." I came out on 10/2 and encountered the rudest and most immature manager. She was the most aggressive and pedantic individual, stating loudly in the lobby "exactly when did you want to cancel." I told her that she and I had had this conversation on the phone, and she kept asking until she finally said, "fine, I write Cancel Immediately" and with that, stormed out of the room in to the office with other employees and closed the door. I have asked over and over for are fund for the 3 months and nothing. I wrote to Massage Envy corporate and they said they would try to get my money back, but each place is owned individually. My supervisor had a massage scheduled for that weekend with Massage Envy and she cancelled. Two other officers I work with also cancelled their appointments. All asked the same question - what exactly were you trying to cheat these people out of...you paid for 6 massages at $59.99 which you did not use but paid for, and only wanted a refund for when your year's membership ended...what is the deal? I cannot answer that. I find that the employees, sadly, mirror this manager's tone and temperament. If you have a contact with this company, they do not send you a reminder that your membership is about to end and remind you that payments will continue to be billed unless you come in person and cancel. Sad - the Mansfield location has a better staff of employees, and said they would have refunded the money but I had to go back to the Highlands where I took out the contract. Unfortunately the folks who gives massages lose with a manager like this - because I know that over 400 people in different law enforcement units have been told what happened and they will never go to one of these locations. read more

I am a TX LMT with my own practice; however, I purchased a 12-month Membership for my husband to receive 'Deep Tissue' massages. I'm going to give you GOOD advice: Schedule only 90-min massages (you'll receive 75-minutes hands on time). If you schedule the 60-min, you'll be "lucky" to receive a 45-50 minute massage as the appointments are back-to-back! Also, there are 3-6-12 month agreements. Be prudent with your money: The coordinator receives a commission for each 12-month membership they close on. If you decide on a 6-12 month membership: Schedule a 90-min & pay the $20 additional fee; or go every other month & receive a 90-min Hot Stone massage (requires two credits). Remember, a membership is $60 a month! A monthly 90-min massage is $80 - which is the only way you benefit! Now tack on a typical $20 tip: That's $100 for a 75-min hands-on massage. Ask yourself, can I afford $100 a month to receive a massage that will benefit me? If not, dont sign for the membership. There is a 3-month gift pack, but you have to ask for it! FACIALS: Murad is a great product! You will be charged an additional $10-20 if you want a facial in place of your massage. Advice: Visit a real spa for your facials. I highly suggest an AVEDA spa. Have been a Massage Envy member for a few years now in Houston, Jacksonville, Florida, and now the Arlington location. I have had good therapists at all three locations. At this location, Kristen has become my favorite therapist in short order. She is very experienced and skilled, and hits all the right areas. She gives a very good medium to deep tissue massage and her technique is exquisite. I like the fact that she is very strong when and where needed, yet her hands are still very soft and soothing. I also like the fact that she doesn't skimp on the massage oil. There is nothing worse than a dry massage. Kristen is witty and chatting with her is like visiting with an ol' friend I have known for years. I have experienced massages all over the globe, and Kristen stacks up well to most any therapist I've had. By recommending her, I know I will only have more difficulty obtaining an appointment with her. Always go with the 90 minute session. You won't regret it. read more

I booked a month and half in advance for my husband and I could celebrate our anniversary and have a date away from my 5 month old. I confirmed and everything with the booking cleric. Got a baby sitter and everything. Took time off work!!!! And when we show up only his appointment was still on the books but my message wasn't because my message agent no longer works there!!! I didn't even get a call to try and keep the appointment time! I am out time, money and now have tons of stress as this as was suppose to be our special day we where looking forward to!!! Massages with my mom! Jessica is awesome, my 90 minute massage was pure bliss! She asked me about any problem areas before hand and really took the time to try & work out my mega-knots in my upper back & shoulders. I also told her that I have a tendency to be ticklish in certain areas & she was able to use techniques that didn't even make me flinch! The space is also really nice & relaxing, with a nice waiting/relaxation area. The only down side is the walls must be a little thin because at times I could hear other massage therapists going to get their clients and I could hear the people in the room next to mine talking a little. I have been going to the Highlands location for about a year now and have had no problems as these other people. I do have a membership which makes it so much easier. The only problem that I have had was finding the right therapist and holding on to them. Whenever I find someone who is able to get rid of the aches and pains they leave. DO NOT sign up for a membership at massage envy, specifically the HIGHLANDS location in Arlington! I have cancelled my membership and have been drafted TWICE already, with MONTHS on between. I cannot even begin to tell you the amount of unethical business practices this place shoves down the customer's throat. They have you sign a form BEFORE they complete their sections, and even months later, the DATES are NO WHERE on the form!!! The front desk doesn't even know the terms, length of freezes or cancellations, and the management that was here is no longer here, magically, and the current management will do NOTHING to correct it. Not only that, they will NOT give you their supervisors contact information so the client can handle it, above the store level. It's like they hide behind the curtain of OZ, and you could NEVER pay me enough to conceal your contact info from a client. WORST experience EVER! First time here, The room was freezing and the table was freezing I let the masseuse know. He giggled. I paid extra for the hot towels/icy hot. The towel was hot and wet the first time applied and then he applied more icy hot and the cold wet towel back on me, I told him I was Freezing at least five different times and he just continued to giggle. It was miserable. It was supposed to be a full body massage and the only thing he worked on was my neck my back and the back of my legs and no arms no feet nothing else. Worst thing in the world to be freezing and not even get a good massage. The manager said because of the experience I can come back in at the intro rate of $65 for my next massage. Went to use a gift card that I had been sitting on for over 6 months. Was able to get an appointment the day after booking. Was surprised when my one hour massage started at 11:10am and ended at 11:54am. Guess I will stick with independent therapists who aren't trying to crank out as many customers as possible in one day. read more

My last 2 massages were with therapists who talked to me for the entire 90 minutes! They told me about their personal lives and problems, including some inappropriate topics for that setting. I'd like to add that I did not initiate conversation at any point on purpose because I hate that during a massage. I ended up leaving very upset about the massage and the money spent. There needs to be a reminder to the therapists to take their clients' cues on the talking. I have had more good experiences there than bad, though. read more
