I love this place ! Clean and the customer service is great! They do good work - I've gotten a couple of facials and this is my Go to for eyebrows and upper lip hair removal. When I started going here. My eyebrows were a mess! (Another place nearly took all my eyebrows off) She recommended I use castor oil and along with the hair nails vitamin I'm full again. The ladies seemed nice enough but the place didn't look as clean as I would have liked and I didn't see any licenses for services displayed. I have become super picky now that I realize how many skin or other infectious things can be shared if tools and such are not sanitary. I've been coming here since 2014/2015 and I've never, repeating NEVER had an issue with my eye brow threading from any of the women here that I have been with to get them done. I had micro shading done for my brows now for a few years now and whenever I get my brows threaded I always just ask for a clean up but today, I've gotten someone new I haven't seen before and the way how she threaded my brows was just bad. My right corner side she completely took off my hairs there. There's nothing there except for my shading there. I didn't ask for it. I didn't think I would have to explain when I wanted just a clean up around my brow, the arch of my brows are too pointy like... and on top of that after she threaded it she didn't even bother to clean off the excess hairs. She just left it there. I don't ever complain but this is just unacceptable .. I'm sad that I'm not sure if I want to come back after just one bad experience. read more

UPDATE: Newrain came out with a small cosmetics line and I got to try her brow gel and liquid lipstick. Both are really high quality for an incredible price. The brow gel is practically ABH pomade for half the price. The liquid lip is comparable to Kat Von D, but in my experience, it lasts even longer. It's super opaque with one swipe and it literally lasts all day even when you're topping it with balm or gloss. Highly recommend trying one of these new products out while she has a good selection of colors available. read more

I am so disappointed in the customer service I've received today. I am extremely picky with my eyebrows because they naturally grow different. When I sat down, the first thing I told her was that I wanted her to even out my shape to make them more similar. She then used a thread across my eyebrows to see which eyebrow grew higher. This was the first red flag because she couldn't even hold the thread straight across my face. She told me my left eyebrow grew higher, and I responded by telling her that my right eyebrow is the one that is actually higher (I would know because they're MY eyebrows, and I see them everyday). I was looking in the hand-held mirror she gave me and politely told her that my right eyebrow actually is the one that's more arched. She continued to hold the thread at an angle and just told me to lay down and that she was going to clean it up first. After she finished, she gave me the mirror, and I honestly wanted to cry. Last time I got my eyebrows threaded, I had to request the owner Newrain, who was incredibly sweet and even told me where I should grow my eyebrows out. My hairs actually grew where I needed them to, but that didn't matter because she removed them all anyway. It's extremely difficult to grow your eyebrows out, so you understand how frustrated I was to see that she just removed it all. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the results, and she bluntly told me that I needed to tell her to leave the hairs I wanted to grow otherwise she would just clean them up. I vividly remember NOT telling her to clean them up, I just told her to even the shape out. It is her job to keep the hairs that would have evened my shape out. She knew I was unhappy with her and my eyebrows, and she felt zero remorse. The lady who threaded my eyebrows was at station 6, and honestly if she actually seemed like she felt bad about messing up my eyebrows, I would understand because miscommunication and mistakes happen. Instead of apologizing, she blamed me for her messing up my eyebrows. The two stars is for the owner, who asked us if we were ok with our service after it was already over. I didn't respond, but my facial expressions made it very clear I was unhappy but obviously the hairs I lost aren't going to magically grow back. I always come to Newrain, and I even have a free eyebrow service ready for next time because I've completed their punch card system, but I don't think I will be needing it. read more

I was in town for the holidays and running a few errands with my sister. She said she was going to stop by here to get her eyebrows threaded and I thought, what the heck. Why not get mine done too? Checking in was quick and even though it was a steady crowd, people were gracious and we didn't have to wait too long. I've had my eyebrows threaded before but it's been a long time so I've forgotten how quick and easy the process is. I really liked how clean the place was. After each client, the chair was sprayed and wiped down even when the last person was only in the chair for literally 5 minutes. She sat me down and asked if I just wanted a clean up and I said yes. My person (who I did not get the name of) was very professional and very sweet. She kept up a light conversation even while threading and it made me feel like I was only sitting in the chair for 30 seconds. The actual procedure is not completely painless but as a person who regularly waxes and tweezes their eyebrows, I can tell you it's well worth it. She asked if I would like some aloe vera gel and I appreciated that since I don't like when people just start slapping random things onto my face haha Overall, highly recommend. The staff is wonderful. Prices are very fair. My sister has gotten facials and she's raved about it, next time, I'll have to come for a facial! read more

I went in for eyebrow and lip threading as well as a facial. The owner Newrain did my facial and another young lady performed my threading service (I can't recall her name). Threading service was good. Facial was aggressive and productive. I like that Newrain manually cleansed my face and did a great facial massage. She didn't try to sell me any products. In fact when I asked her thoughts she recommended witch-hazel as a toner and tee tree oil for acne. I had a great experience. read more

Small place hidden in an unassuming plaza off mayfield and s cooper street. Went in on a Friday evening to get my brows groomed. Waited about 20 minutes to be seen as there were just two stylists there. My stylist was very sweet. She finished quickly. I asked for them to be arched. Upon first glance they looked decent. Later I felt that she could have trimmed them shorter, but I won't complain too much. They are cleaned up and look better than before. The prices are pretty reasonable. An eyebrow wax is $7 and if you check in with Yelp you get the eyebrow wax for $5. They do facials, waxing, and makeup tinting. The waiting area is cute, there were Marilyn Monroe portraits on the walls and pop music was playing which I thought was cute. read more
