Such an amazing experience at this location. Upon walking in Letica greeted me with a smile and helped get a massage transferred from another location. She then took me back and asked me questions to personalize my massage. No other massage place has ever done this!! I was impressed from then on with the staff and their welcoming attitudes to personalize my massage and facial. The masseuse Brandy was also awesome, she kept checking on how the pressure was and allowed me to have a completely relaxing experience. She even went out of her way to get me a robe to wear to my facial so I didn't have to undress again. The esthetician Bonnique was sooo nice and helpful with my skin, not to mention giving an amazing facial. I would highly recommend this location and will definitely be returning. A Very Disappointing Experience With Massage Envy in Avondale I purchased a membership with Massage Envy in August 2025 after initially having a very positive experience with one of their therapists, Veronica, who specializes in TPT. My husband had previously purchased a massage package for me because of an injury, and I was so pleased with Veronica's care that I felt comfortable becoming a member. Unfortunately, Veronica eventually left, and my experience changed completely. I was assigned to several different therapists, and none of them were a good fit. There was only one therapist after Veronica who I felt provided a decent massage. When I first inquired about becoming a member, I was specifically told that I could cancel my membership at any time. My husband was sitting right beside me and heard that conversation. Later, when I tried to cancel, I was told that I was under a one-year contract and could not cancel. Rather than continue arguing, I decided to keep the membership and finish out the year. What is especially important is that I repeatedly told the staff, on numerous occasions when I came into the location, that I intended to finish my one-year membership and then cancel. I made my intentions very clear. Not once did anyone tell me that I needed to fill out a cancellation form. Not once did anyone tell me that my membership was about to end in July. Not once did anyone tell me that I needed to take additional action to prevent another charge. My understanding was very clear: my one-year membership ended in July, and I did not authorize Massage Envy to charge my card for another month. Then, in August 2026, I received a message saying my account had been suspended and that I could not use my remaining 2 1/2 massages unless I made another payment. I immediately called because my membership payments had been automatically deducted from my account. I was then told that my membership had automatically rolled over into a monthly membership after the contract ended in July, and I was being charged $80 for August. I was never notified that my membership would automatically renew or that I would be charged another $80. This is extremely frustrating because I do not believe I owe Massage Envy anything. If anything, they still owe me approximately 3 1/2 massages--2 1/2 remaining from my membership, plus one massage I had gifted to my daughter that was never used. I was also given a difficult time when I asked about getting that unused massage back. I was essentially being told that I needed to pay $80 for a service I did not request or receive before I could access services I had already paid for. That is not acceptable to me. I understand that businesses have policies and contracts. However, customers should be clearly informed about those policies, especially when it comes to automatic renewals and cancellation requirements. If I repeatedly told the staff that I intended to cancel when my one-year membership ended, someone should have told me, "You need to fill out a cancellation form before your membership ends." Nobody did. Instead, I received no cancellation instructions, no reminder that my membership was ending, and no notification that my account was going to roll into another month of charges. I originally became a member because I had one therapist I trusted and was very happy with. Unfortunately, after Veronica left, my experience with this location went downhill significantly. After everything that has happened, I cannot recommend Massage Envy in Avondale. If you are considering a membership, my advice is to be extremely careful. Ask very specific questions about cancellation, automatic renewal, unused massages, and what happens when your contract ends. And most importantly, get everything in writing. For me, this is no longer just about a massage. It is about communication, transparency, and how a company treats customers who have already paid for their services. When I spoke to this person named Natalia, she was very impatient and disrespectful even after I told her I am not blaming her personally, and that I was just frustrated. Child was left waiting in the lobby with no parent. I am not sure whether he was left there with his electronic device for the time his parent was getting massaged or whether it was an employee's child. In either case, this is not SAFE for the child nor appropriate. So unprofessional, but the child's safety here is Paramount. There is no excuse management could possibly give to make this okay! The massage therapist mentioned a facial to me and some pushy lady at the front front desk tried to push me into getting a facial/asked if I had ever had one. Apparently my skin must have looked terribly unhealthy today. Very insulting. The whole experience was extraordinary uncomfortable for me. Their chair in the massage room had worn out leather. Pieces of the surface leather had begun to peel off. The back of the chair had been banged into the wall so many times the paint had chipped off in a line that ran across the top line of the chair. The hanger left in the room for my shirt was a basic black hanger they probably got at the dollar store (far from the heavy hard wood hangers one finds at Scottsdale ME locations). Even the table in the "quiet room" was cheap looking, the trash can in the restroom was the cheapest most basic black trash can you could imagine. My massage therapist picked me up for my appointment 10 minutes late, but I didn't get me full time. Finished up at the time I normally would have (and that does include the time off the table for getting dressed and undressed). There was also a fan blowing on me full force during my massage. I have been an ME member since about 2007, and I honestly have never had such an uncomfortable over-all experience. I would give 0 stars if I could! Beware! They take sides with their employees over their paying customers. I was treated unfairly by the front desk her name is Krystal, and her store manager. Managers don't do anything, they let their employees get a way with the way the treat their customers. Even after the front desk lady names Krystal being in the wrong, Was rude and hanged up on me in the middle of me speaking. They found a way to twisted on me; blaming me for the issue that accrued. The manager, Amanda, has no idea how to run a business. I went to the wrong location and was almost 30 mins from the correct location. I have NEVER missed an appointment before and have been a loyal customer for over 2 years when I spoke to her she told me there was no way for me to reschedule and that she was not going to waive the 50% cancellation fee when I live almost 30 miles from the booked location. I get that it was totally my fault and would be happy to come in at ANY other time to fill someone else's hole on the schedule but there was no compassion or understanding even when I was honest about my mistake. That it would state that in the notes. The new manager says there are no notes saying this and I have five credits. Because I'm 37 weeks pregnant and close to our due date. When we arrive for our 7pm couples massage, we were told that it was for me and another gentleman- (name not my husband). Come to find out that they never booked my husbands appointment, therefore we were both out of a couples massage. I would never recommend this place and their lack of ability to organize. I called yesterday evening to book a session for 01/11/2024 the front desk receptionist took my name, number and most important my Visa card number, claimed to have booked my appointment, I rearranged my entire day around being able to fit in a massage after working night shift at a hard labor job only to come in this morning, to find out the receptionist did not book my appointment. The staff working this morning refused to help me or assist me in any way and when I advised her I wanted to file a complaint she wrote my name and number down on a sticky note and said she would give it to the manager who is out of office due to a surgery. I just left this Avondale Massage envy. After being excited for WEEKS about my super special Mother's Day facial I left super disappointed. My appt was 1230p so I had my ride pick me up at 2. I arrived there at 1215. My esthetician didn't touch my face until 1240. Ok fine. Then at 1:45 she said she was all done. What?! There was a giant clock over the door so I couldn't help but track the time. I asked the receptionist if that was normal, she said yes. 5 mins before for consult, 5 mins after to get dressed. So a 10 grace period on their end. Ok. I explained I was shorted 25 mins. I again asked 'does that make sense to you?' She said yes. So they wanted to charge me for a 90 min facial when I got a 65 min facial. She said 'the manager can call you tomorrow, but she usually doesn't fix things like that.' #1 so your manager doesn't make wrongs right? #2 this happens often enough for you to let me know? This complaint is more about the Manager, Angela. I submitted a cancellation form on 11/7/2022 in person. I was told I would not be charged again in December. On Monday, 12/12/2022, I saw that I had been charged another monthly fee of $75 on 12/2/2022. I called to inquire about it and was told Angela would call me back because the account was still active. On Wednesday, 12/14/2022, I had to call because Angela never returned my call. Only to be told that I would not be receiving a refund because the cancellation was effective 12/2/2022. Which is a total lie! I asked to pick up a copy of the cancellation form and went in that same morning to get it. It has got to be the most fraudulent and edited copy I've ever seen. I finally managed to speak to Angela and she told me that I had post dated the cancellation form for 12/2/2022. Again, this is a lie and I told her so. I cancelled the membership on the day I went in 11/7/2022. Never did I request to post date the cancellation. As a matter of fact, I booked my remaining sessions in December so no to lose the credits. My next appointment is scheduled for the end of the month to prove it. I've taken the copy of the cancellation form to other ME locations and they've been appalled by the fact that this person would even think that it was acceptable. It is clearly a ploy to cover up the fact that the cancellation form was not processed when it was supposed to. I would have been fine with someone saying they mistakenly didn't process. I get it, it happens. But to create a fraudulent document just to get and additional months fee. This is completely unethical and should have consequences. I can imagine how many others have had this issue at this location. I would like a call back from the District Manager or Owner of this location as I understand it is individually owned and not part of the ME Corporate chain. read more

Horrible customer service and rudeness at the front desk. If it wasn't for my regular masseuse, Fernando, who is amazing, I would never set foot in here again. My last appointment, I let them know my debit card was compromised so I wanted to give them my new card before my monthly payment came out. They took it and I thought all was fine. The next time I came in, they checked me in and said nothing. After my massage the girl at the front desk asked me if I was aware that my account was suspended. I said no and asked why. She said because my debit card wouldn't go through and that I would need to call my "home"location. It was the same girl that I had given my new information to last time so I explained this to her and asked her why she didn't notify me of that when I gave her my new card. She told me that they wouldn't have any idea and that it's not on them to tell me because they're not my home location. I have been getting deep tissue massages from him every 2 weeks for a few months now and he is skilled, knowledgeable, professional and these appointments 100 percent help my fitness muscle recovery from workouts and keep me in top shape. A specific example I have to highlight was this past week. I booked an additional session specifically for him to work on my legs prior to a race I was running. He listened to my needs, addressed them, and I performed at a higher level during my race than I anticipated I could. I went into your Avondale massage envy to verbalize my grief and anguish amidst the unauthorized charges on my credit card by massage envy, And to my amusement, your staff felt the need to call the cops on myself and my husband, which i find the biggest insult of a life time, i am lost for words but im not surprised. This is how it all started. I came into your spa in December of 2020, i did not sign up to receive any services, if i recall i made an appointment but after one caucasian lady and her husband had come in to raise hell about how her account being charged without her knowledge, that spooked me; and by the way they didn't call the cops on the family after all the hell they raised. I was so disappointed and ashamed as to me witnessing that event; and it made me uncomfortable to the point that i did not come back. That was definitely a red flag for me. The lady i spoke to stated that she was not and will not charge my card that there was a promo to waive registration and also my card will not be charged ever until i make and attend my First appointment, after which my card has been having charges been taking out since December till date. To me an agreement is not an agreement, if the content was relayed in a way to deceive the other party to sign on for services without even knowing . My husband was furious yes but i amicably took over the conversation so it wont escalate because the ladies were very disrespectful and stating that i signed so yes i will be charged monthly and there is nothing i can do since i signed, i told the arrogant uneducated silly brat, that i signed no such agreement that says that i consent to you charging me monthly with or without using the service, i have spend money on the best spas , i go to places like castle hot springs which is about 1200 a night resort stay so id definitely not be too angry to spend a few chicken change except this time, i was not aware that massage envy will bill my credit card monthly, perhaps there is a problem but i will not be ridiculed or made a fool of at my level. I got a massage here yesterday and now I feel worse than ever and probably one of the most painful massages ive ever had! My girlfriend booked a massage for me at Massage Envy in Avondale, this was my first time getting a professional massage. My therapist Dayana asked me what areas she should focus on and I told her my mid AND lower back. She spent half the time focusing on my upper back and the next half on my legs and neck. Before you know it the session was over and my lower back was never worked. The whole point of the massage was to work on my mid and lower back. This location has been the best place I've received a massage. Breida especially has done tons for my back and neck. I could hardly move as my lower back was in so much pain before I first went in and had tried other methods of treating my back pain. After the first session with Breida it was like I had never had an issue. I also had a bad neck injury 6 years ago that I've been struggling with since and no chiropractor could help. Breida also helped that drastically. First time having seen an esthetician. I saw Amanda and was very pleased with the results. She was very informative about the care of my skin and what products she was using and would suggest.
