I just got home from my visit today for my birthday. It is not often that I take the time to write a review, but I wanted to make sure the extra long hair people get a review that represents the experience properly. For reference, my hair is ~4ft long. I made sure when I made my reservation that I mentioned the length of my hair and for them to please reach out if there were any long hair fees like other places charge so I could plan accordingly. This has always been an experience I've wanted and today was finally the day. This was my birthday gift from my boyfriend and there was no budget in play so when I write this, know that this was ~$500 experience with the 15% tip. I will break this review into 3 sections because there were 3 key events that happened. First up, I got a Signature Tsunamii Massage (90-Mins) with the deep tissue add-on. Pretty pricey for the extended time plus deep tissue, but it was absolutely worth it. I requested medium pressure since I knew I needed pressure but would be tender since I'm very stiff. This experience was very nice and as someone who was previously working in physical therapy, the muscle groups targeted were consistent with my pains. One concern I did have is that they didn't quite know what to do with my hair (I had worn it down and it's on me that I didn't put it in a bun or something). There were a couple of times the massage therapist stepped on my hair and it pulled my head. I just did my best to ignore it since it only happened a couple of times. Second, we have the royal head spa treatment. I got the extended time for 90-minutes total, the minty scalp scrub exfoliation add-on, the calming face mask add-on, the 4-hand foot massage with scrub, and the blowout styling add-on. The Head spa process was very relaxing for the most part. The scalp massages felt excellent and I enjoyed the two scrub add-ons I got. I will say that the $7 face mask is just a paper mask and wouldn't say it was worth it when you can get better quality ones at Ulta/Sephora for cheaper. The paper quality felt cheap and the mask was drier than expected. I do also feel that 90 minutes is just too much time. 60 minutes would've covered your bases just fine. It felt like not much was going on for the extra 30 minutes that was worth the extra fees. Moving onto why I really wanted to write this review: the blow-out. I was really looking forward to the blowout, especially since my hair is extremely long and I rarely get to have someone else handle it. Unfortunately, the result was very disappointing. While I understand how time-consuming and difficult my hair can be, the service I received did not reflect a proper blowout. The stylist seemed unsure and struggled with basic technique--frequent tangling, drying sections incompletely, and attempting to style damp hair. The process shifted from round brushing to using the Dyson Airwrap incorrectly, resulting in limp, uneven curls rather than a smooth, voluminous blowout. There was little product used, and nothing held. If you're confident enough not to upcharge for extra-long hair, your staff should be trained to properly handle and style it. This experience did not meet that standard. I understand that the blowout option is only $30 and they did not charge extra for extra long hair (plus, this isn't a salon place obviously) which is why I still give the experience 3/5 stars. But, I am fair enough to myself and my ~$500 experience that if we pay for a blowout, and your business makes a point they can do it, then I expect a blowout at the end that makes me want to come back and spend another $500. We would have had no problem being charged extra for long hair (even if it was just for blowouts) if it meant I would get someone competent in the task. I would have been extremely understanding had the attendant stated she did not feel comfortable with doing my hair to the level of expectation and we just went the braid route with the blowout removed from the bill. She was very competent for the head spa portion, just not the finishing/drying/styling. I didn't want to make a fuss in person because I genuinely did enjoy all the other aspects of the experience barring the couple exceptions. Receptionist, massage therapist, and the head spa therapist were all great during the spa process. But, I cannot ignore the very last thing that happened during my experience which should be the final lasting impression on a customer. I tried to just convince myself it was fine but my "curls" instantly flattened and I have zero volume. Overall, I recommend the business for its core. You can definitely save yourself some money by skipping some of the add-ons I mentioned. I might return back some day but won't be going as "all-out" as this time. read more

Me and my mom came here to treat ourselves. We had googled various places to try and landed here. The facility looks small on the outside and from the waiting area but once you head to the back it's a lot bigger than expected! When we arrived we were greeted nicely. The space was clean and organized. We had to use the restroom and those were also clean. We were taken to the back and separated into different rooms for our sessions. The room itself is very peaceful. Dim lights, light music, blankets, it was all lovely. The treatment itself was so nice! I did not catch the name of the lady who worked with me. She was very sweet though and made sure I was always comfortable. It never felt awkward during the session, I enjoyed the whole thing! At the end you go to a different room and get your hair dried. For Christmas this year, my husband gifted me a gift certificate to Tsunami Head Spa, located in the West Valley! I was super excited because I'm a huge fan of the traditional Japanese head spas and because there was finally a spot close to home! I was able to easily book my appointment online, and on my appointment day, once I arrived I was checked in quickly and asked to fill out some basic paperwork. I was then taken to the treatment room where Tip, my therapist explained the process. The atmosphere was super calming, with dimmed lighting and soothing music in the background. Tip started my treatment with various head scratchers, then followed up using their Rosemary Mint scalp oil, and a minty scalp scrub. Next, she sprayed on a rose rice water protein scalp cleanser. After each treatment, she either brushed my hair or massaged my scalp. She then used their Ancient Ritual Japanese Tsubaki Rice Water Shampoo and Conditioner. After that she incorporated a facial using Gua Sha stones, along with a neck, shoulder, hand, and arm massage. She ended the treatment with the hair steam and scalp hydrotherapy. Lastly she did stretch and massage my legs. Afterwards, I was taken to the salon, where Chelsea the stylist performed a scalp analysis, red light therapy, and a light blow dry. Overall, it was relaxing, however a few things did stand out to me. The machine they used was quite loud. I could even hear the one they were using in the treatment room next-door to mine. Additionally, I know the facial is part of the service but I felt like a lot of time was focused on the face. Personally I would have liked more time spent on my head since that was the whole purpose of my visit. Also, I felt like she didn't really utilize the halo water wand as much as I've experienced at other places. The halo feature in my opinion is one of the most relaxing aspects of the whole dang service. Nonetheless, it was a very nice experience and a place you should check out if this is your thing! The staff was very prompt in attending to me. The head spa treatment was awesome, it included a facial and slight body massage. My skin and hair felt very clean and light. This was the most relaxing treatment I've had in a very long time. I've been wanting to try a head spa for quite some time so I was excited to see this one on TikTok and was glad I was able to make an appointment so quick. When I got to Tsunamii, I was immediately greeted by the nicest girl. I checked in, filled out a quick form about how I'd like my service, and waited for my room. Once I was taken back to my room, I changed into a comfy towel/robe and put my hair up in a clip before lying down. Once my therapist came in, she got right to work. We started with a facial cleanse and massage, a sheet mask ($5 extra) and some ice globes. This transitioned into a scalp massage and then she began with the head massage. She wet my hair, cleansed it, massaged my scalp with several different tools, added a hair mask and a steam treatment while she massaged my shoulders and upper arms. Eventually she also stretched my back and did a quick foot massage as well. She wrapped things up by rinsing my hair one final time, then doing a quick rough dry with the blow dryer and styling my hair in a bun. I was then left to get dressed and met her outside the room for a refreshing cup of water before I cashed out. All in all, I paid $143 after a 25% tip. It was well worth it. The water feature where it rains on your head wasn't at the top of your head , it was towards the middle of my head. It lasted for maybe 5 actual minutes of continuous rainfall, I was expecting more time as it was a big draw for me. When they were not working on your scalp, they moved to shoulders, arms, legs, back. I opted at the end to get a blowout, it was an extra $30. I was super excited for my head spa massage as I've seen these all over TikTok! After looking at multiple salons and looking at reviews I ended up making an appointment at Tsunami. Overall, it was a good experience. I liked that they had private rooms opposed to having everyone down a line in a single room. I believe the girl that did my hair massage may have been sick as she kept clearing her throat throughout the appointment l. I'd relax and every couple minutes it'd get interrupted. A bit awkward. She did well making sure I was comfortable and that the pressure was good. They had run out of warm eye masks so I got a small towel on my eyes. A mask would have been so nice. The power sent out diffing the stacking position of the conditioner. It definitely didn't feel like an hours worth. I was then sent to another room to get a blow dry and braid. I wasn't aware it would be two different people helping me so make sure to bring extra to tip. Overall, I would want to try somewhere else. read more

This is my honest review, my husband bought me a $200 gift card. I bought the top package that was $200 which included a 45 minute massage and then an hour scalp and head massage what they're supposed to be known for. I would rate the massage maybe a 3/10. Once massages finished you then go into the Hedspa room. I was expecting more of a scalp massage with hot oils (like in the description) and really focusing on the scalp, but I did not feel like that is what I got at all. The lady started with some sort of a cleanse with make up remover wipes, then went in with some sort of a cleanser, and did a Mask with a sheet mask on top, the products used for a facial felt really greasy and cheap to be honest. The facial felt rushed with very quick fast movements, and it just didn't really feel like she knew what she was doing When removing the mask she barely did and she left a ton of the mask still on my face which made my face feel really gross and itchy. For the scalp massage portion all she did was shampoo my hair twice which I guess is considered the scalp massage. She then quickly used combs and then a scalp massaging tool. The best part of the entire headspa was the steam. When I read the description of the scalp massage it was nothing like that.. there is no rosemary oil, or tea tree oil scalp massage or anything like that. It was literally just shampoo a little scalp massage with the tools and then rinse. it was finished with a braid in the Salon portion of the spa. The scalp massage I would rate a 4/10. The massage oils smelled like Irish spring soap and the shampoo smelled cheap like Pantene. I definitely did not feel like this was an amazing spa experience for $200+. I'm bummed because I had high hopes after seeing this place on tiktok. After reading all of the things listed that were supposed to be included in the package I received they left out about 8 of the treatments that were listed.
