NO LOYALTY, THEFT OF 40 CREDITS AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE I am a CFO for a fairly good size company and understand that mistakes can happen. We would always looks at each individual situation and assess our customers especially those who have been loyal and try and find a way to work things out. I am writing this review as I am extremely dissatisfied with their lack of consideration for a loyal customer We have been long term members of ME ( 2010). We signed up at the Castle Rock location however we found it was easier to get into the Briargate location. In January of this year we changed our location and transfered our credits to the Briargate location. A young gal who reminded me of our granddaughter and was extremely nice said she would take care of it. This was also done around the time the Castle Rock location was closing. We thought all was good. We continued to receive services at the Briargate location and had about 40 credits between my husband and myself. Mid October I went in for services and was told that I had to pay for it. Over $300 No notification of this at all until the day of service. Our credits had disappeared and they had no record of our transfer yet they continued to honor our credits throughout the year. I explained the situation and the basic attitude was so sorry so sad. They said a couple of emails went out but probably went to spam. I did as they suggested and could not find any emails from no-replyafg. If it went to spam it had been deleted. Given the number of scams in the world we have extremely high security on our emails. As you are aware there have been numerous data breaches and one cannot be to careful. As to membership I told Alysia the manager, who wouldn't even give her last name due to security reasons (yet she had all of our names and credit card info on file) that when the Castle rock location closed one of the front desk gals at the Briargate location asked us if we wanted to switch our membership to the Briargate location. We said yes and she said she would take care of it. I think I signed something but honestly can't remember as this was in January. I couldn't find anything. We have been members since 2010 and have paid over 20000 in premiums. It seems like ME doesn't value loyalty or our patronage and is happy keeping credits and losing us as a loyal customer. When I came in, in July no one informed me of this upcoming change nor did they on previous visits. they used my credits for those visits. Obviously, I was under the impression that we were still members since we had made the switch with the young lady. I am extremely disappointed and have sent a letter to the corporate office regarding our treatment and your manager not wanting to work with us to come to an acceptable resolution. As a matter of fact, she could care less that we lost 6000 dollars or that we were long term patrons. She even commented that it probably went to spam so not her problem. She also wouldn't stand behind one of her employees who said she changed our membership to the Briargate location. We have been going to Briargate even when Castle Rock was still open for at least 5 years Honestly do you think we would purposely lose $6000 in credits and not keep our membership after being members since 2010. This location is so poorly managed and insanely RUDE. I scheduled a 60 minute massage, and I received a 45 minute massage. I in a very reasonable response, requested a 25% refund for missing 15 minutes of the massage. I still tipped the therapist because I understand people may run late and she couldn't make up for that.. but that does not mean I should be paying for time I didn't get. Originally, the manager refused to give me a refund because she had "no way to prove it". I reach out again, the assistant manager says she verified I was taken back late and she said they gave me an additional 6 minutes due to that. My appointment was at 1:30 I arrived about 15 minutes early at about 1:15 like they say too.. then I was taken back at 1:45, the massage promptly ended at 2:31. There are clocks in the rooms. It isn't hard to keep track of. Then they change their story again and claimed the massage is actually only 50 minutes because 10 minutes of the 60 minute massage is for getting un-dressed ... seriously? EVEN if that was true, 15 minutes of a massage is not sitting in a chair in a waiting room. I honestly was so shocked at how rude both the manager and assistant manager were. Both of them were very condescending and had extreme attitude when I was asking for a small refund due to missing a 1/4 of the massage. This was my first time here and it will be my last. Please don't waste your money paying for a monthly membership fee you won't be able to use. Oh yes...the first few months they will "hold" times for new members but after that, it's virtually impossible to book a 60-minute massage unless you book 2 months in advance. And if they have to cancel on you, you'll likely wait another month or two before you will be rescheduled. It should be illegal to deduct a monthly membership fee if they can't provide an appointment slot OR at least one day/time PER MONTH that works with your schedule. They do not reply to emails nor are the front desk people helpful because they always say they "don't know or don't have the authority to help in that situation." Avoid at all costs! I signed up for a membership prior to Covid 19 and had few complaints. The massages we're decent and you could normally find an appointment within a reasonable time. Then Covid hit, they shut down(understandably) and I was charged monthly fees with credits for massages. The issue came after restrictions were lifted. I had 16 massages or so, and could never find an opening. They are normally booked out 1 month in advance with intermittent spots in random times, which doesn't always fit with my work schedule. Given that my credits added up to around $1000, I emailed them for options and essentially there were no options for reimbursement. There was no way I would be able to use 16 credits that built up during Covid and couldn't keep getting charged monthly and adding to those credits, so I cancelled and lost $1000. Great gift to someone that had to work in healthcare during all this. The massages also went downhill after re opening. I recommend looking elsewhere for massages, especially if you're looking to buy into their membership. read more

I had an appointment scheduled with Vince, and our 1 1/2 hour session started about 10-12 minutes late. He did apologize about being late and our session went well. The ladies at check out were fun, and commented on my Star Wars shirt. Most therapists, estheticians are wonderful to work with, but the company is awful. I had been a member since 2013. I had severe neck and back issues and used the services faithfully. BUT since the pandemic, I have not used my credits. I cancelled per the company requirements in July 2020. I even called the store to confirm and was told I didn't need to do anything else. Didn't see any charge on my August credit card statement so I figured it was handled. OF COURSE NOT, I had 2 charges on Sept statement, called store - no record. I sent the original form to them. Alexis is the best massage therapist I have ever had and I hope she never leaves!!! I'll follow her anywhere! She always feels the muscles before exerting pressure, asks what I need, works on exactly what I ask her to, and always remembers what I love! Like pressure points and such. Only reason I am giving 4 stars is the front desk/operations... like other commenters, still in 2018 it is easier to hang up and call back a few minutes later if goes to voicemail because leaving voice messages is not an efficient way to book appointments... putting patrons on hold who are willing to wait would be much better... also there have been times I absolutely needed a massage for chronic pain and a few times this location has just said "no", not because they didn't have enough rooms but because they didn't have enough massage therapists and were "now offering a new facial service" that couldn't be changed to a massage... just lost profit right there. NOT RELAXING, unprofessional and overall Horrible experience! when I go to a spa I like to feel relaxed while waiting. This is not the environment they provided. Their "quiet room" was anything but. i heard people talking and was annoyed when I learned it was the workers I was hearing and not respecting the quiet environment. Not a huge big deal but it was annoying me since I was waiting in that room for 20 mins. the lady finally came out at 1:45ish to let me know she was running late. Keep in mind my facial appt was at 1:30. i was not in a hurry so I told her to take her time. She explained to me that her first client was 15 min late and she didn't want to cut her time short. i understood that and assumed she would extend the same courtesy to me and not cut my time short. I was wrong. i finally got back to the room a little after 2:00. i was even more annoyed when my lady did a long consultation and talked to me about her diet. I was thinking that she is getting more behind but again did not think it would cut into my time. Facial started definitely after 2:00 and ended on time at 3:00. The facial was ok, but the lady talked the entire time so I was not able to relax and the arm and shoulder massage was so short. When I left the room at 3:04, I asked Lenia, why did I not receive my 90 min facial. She told me that the service is not always the full 90 mins. This was obviously a ridiculous response because I was not even in the room for 90 mins. She obviously used me to catch up on her appts. And although her first client and other clients received their full treatments/services, it was at my expense. The ladies at the front desk understood this and only charged me for a 60 min facial, but I am not even certain I got that. what a horrible experience! I would NEVER return to any of these locations and I urge to spend a little bit more and go to a PROFESSIONAL Spa where you get a relaxing experience. read more

So far I am OK with my "membership" at massage envy. If I knew prior to going to Massage envy that they would be so pushy about membership I would have most likely NOT gone because I do not like being committed to such agreements but besides the membership issues, the massage therapists are pretty good - you just need to find the right one! I know what a good massage entails - would say I have had the pleasure of getting over 70 massages in my lifetime so far... Massage envy cons: advertises 60min massage but at best you get about 45-50min massage but they expect you to tip off an hour experience. Some of the massage therapists are so newbie they have no idea what they are doing (ie too much pressure, too little pressure, not doing anything at all). Front desk people are at times pretty pushy and fake or sometimes plain rude. Know your therapists, find the right one and stick with her/him and front desk people please keep your attitudes at home! Massage envy pros: flexibility of finding a massage last minute, some talented folks if you can find them stick with them, clean locations, convenient locations if you live on the north side of town. Also, if you are a member and you need more than one massage a month the subsequent massages after your initial monthly massage are only $39.99 after that which is a good bargain. read more

I've been at Massage Envy member for almost 5 years now and it is definitely a great way to save on monthly massages. I see some reviewers talking about the receptionists trying to push the membership on to them. I can see this as being a problem if you just popped in to get a massage but Massage Envy is a membership-based company that makes its money on it's memberships not on walk-ins. That being said there's no excuse or place for sales tactics that are over-the-top. I enjoy being a member because I pay $80 Per month for my wife and I to both receive a one hour massage. that's a solid $40 under what it would cost for us to both get a one hour massage at most other places. My experience at this Massage Envy has been nothing but great. The receptionists and even the manager have been nothing but kind and very quick to assist when I need a last minute massage. i've been to this location twice and I have been pleased both times. It's a nice building and the set up is very well done. In general I don't think I've been to any Massage Envy in the United States that I did not find to be well organized and well run and this location is no exception. read more

Now being off Thursdays and Saturdays I still cant find any openings. Do I've bas been paying for a monthly membership that I can't use monthly. I asked to cancel even to just pay for the rest of my time and the front desk told me I can't do that. The front desk is not very welcoming or friendly. I finally was able to get into a 90 min today where she was 10 mins late getting me asked what was bothering me and then the massage was all over the place. From neck back legs to back neck legs to feet to head there was no consistency. Every massage I have been able to receive from here has been below average. Now - the atmosphere of the area - it is very cold. There is nothing relaxing about it. The so called tranquil room is like a doctor's waiting room. It is cold - there are chairs that are up against a big window. There are shades that covers these huge windows - they are used so that people walking by on the opposite side of the windows from looking in.
