I had a great stretch session with Jason and wonderful massage by Judy and Chance. They all deserve 5 stars. I love the variety of services offered here. Very calm and peaceful ambiance. Ask about their enhancement upgrades. Staff consistency does seem to be an issue. I've been scheduled for a facial this week now 3 times due to people not showing up for work. They cancel same day and don't always leave a voicemail that they're canceling. Then they want to offer a free enhancement, umm I already have coupons for those. A free session... um I'm a member with plenty of unused sessions, I'd prefer you just hire people that show up. I've been to paradise valley location a handful of times and their consistency seems slightly better. read more

This place is a ripoff! The management and office staff (Mayo Blvd. location) are inconsistent with policies. It took my husband months to cancel his membership because they told him it had to be in person with management at the location he signed up at. Well, he works full time and there was never a manager available when my husband had time to go there! He finally thought he had it taken care of, only to find the monthly charge on our bank account again! He cancelled AGAIN, and was told that his wife could use one of his many remaining credits (only one credit can be transferred every 6 months!!) with his permission. I scheduled this appt. via "credit" and when I arrived they told me that wasn't the case and that I had to pay full price! No thanks, not worth it-the therapists lack skill, the front desk and management staff are not knowledgeable or friendly, appt. times are difficulty to schedule. I went to Hand and Stone and had a much better experience in every way, and you are able to transfer credits easily. read more

I am a member. Have been for many years. This location kept canceling my appointments - day of - after I had booked a month+ in advance. So, I asked to talk to a manager..., Manager never called back after two months of my appointments being cancened {same day} due to a therapist call out. Location admin said a manager would let me know - they never followed up. What are you doing about being super short staffed and therapists not beging reliable???? I'm so frustrated and sad that I pay and can't even rely on even getting in? PCR group, what are you doing to help sustain your locations? I've never really had a "bad massage" before unfortunately yesterday it was incredibly disappointing. I arrived 4 minutes before my appointment. The therapist came to the relaxation room 13 minutes late. Didn't begin massaging me until about another 5 minutes from that. Didn't ask about the pressure, spent more time talking than actually massaging, and kept asking me about work I had to take the day off work because my shoulder was injured. Unfortunately the muscles are still tight and I have limited use of my hand. Front desk was nice, didn't really give a lot of direction for someone who hadn't been to the location before. I'm here on vacation and had a difficult time booking a massage and facial at the Desert Spring Resort Spa where we were staying. Only available time was super super early and a short service and in excess of $279. I really wanted, needed and quite frankly deserved a bit more time. Disappointed I noticed this location while visiting the shopping mall area for lunch. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile. I booked a 90 minute massage with Tony and a 60 minute facial to follow at a reasonable time. I'm so happy I did too. One of the best massages I've had and top of the list for facial service. The only down side compared to typical resort spa location is no sauna waterfall ambiance. However, the price was just wow! No hard sells, no pressure to buy membership since I live more then 2 hours away from a Message Envy Spa. This location was super clean,friendly, professional AND I did have time to rest and focus and breath before and after my service too relax sans the waterfall. I highly recommend bypassing the resort spas here and just go directly to this location for excellent service and affordability also. If I lived close I would be a regular customer. Massage Envy is ripping me off. I signed up for a year with the understanding that after the year there would be no automatic renewal. Come to find out they were taking money from my account for months. I found out and called them to see what's wrong. Thankfully they refunded the money. I haven't worked since March so I need that money. Now they've taking money from me AGAIN. I've almost gone through all of my savings but they don't seem to care. I've given up on a different location so I decided to give the Desert Ridge location a try. When I called the front desk person could not find me. I've been a Massage Envy member for like 6 or 7 years, albeit at a different location, but this is a large chain, so you'd think the member database would be fairly simple to navigate. I ended up having to wait...and wait... while he searched, continuously telling me that he couldn't find me. Finally, after what felt like forever, he found my account. Good thing is, they were able to get me in for a same day appointment. I arrived and the check-in process was swift, as usual with Massage Envy. At the receptionist's suggestion, I was booked with Ashley for a deep tissue + Swedish. What a great suggestion. Ashley was friendly and personable, yet she didn't talk through my massage, which is just the way I like it. She is AMAZING with deep tissue and Swedish techniques. She reached all of my problems areas and knocked those kinks right out. She has great skill! The only thing that kept my massage from perfection was the room temperature. Unfortunately, I was not able to fully relax and enjoy my time because I was too busy shivering and freezing my tushy off - even with the table warmer on. So I'm not sure if each room has individual thermostat controls or if there is only one main control, but that needs to be addressed. And in fairness, I did not mention the temperature issue to my masseuse; I thought my goosebumps and chattering teeth were speaking loud enough for me. Ashley gives 4-star massages (warm up that room!). Due to my frustrations with the front desk, customer service would get a 2. 3 is a happy medium at this point. read more

Tony Tony Tony!! First off, I've been in Arizona for almost a year and a half now, and have struggled to find a quality massage/massage therapist. Well, my search is over. The appointment was made easy online, and confirmed through their automated text system. The staff upfront was friendly and efficient both to start, and when leaving. The building was clean, and I didn't hear residual noise during my time, like at other locations. But finally, and most importantly, Tony was amazing. From start to finish, he checked on the pressure level periodically, but was not invasive with talk or anything. My massage was relaxing, but again, most importantly, he hit all the right spots: the ones I stressed to him in the beginning, and those I didn't even know I had. It was easily the best massage I have found in Arizona, and all thanks to Tony's expertise, knowledge, and thoroughness. Sore in the best possible ways!!! Job well done! We have tried out a few locations for Massage Envy in the Phoenix area and thus far this is our favorite one. Locations here seem to have some major differences from the Orlando locations: i.e. seating areas in Orlando were Tranquility Rooms that had a private seating area with mini water fountains and soft music, and booking an appointment can almost always be made the same day here, while in Orlando you normally have to book no less than a week in advance to hope for an appointment time. The masseuses we have had here have almost all been excellent, give or take one or two that just simply weren't our "style" and not bad by any means. The front desk staff is always helpful over the phone and upon arrival / departure. Side note: Check into this location to get a free sugar foot scrub upgrade! Don't get me wrong, the massage staff are courteous, qualified, and professional. However, the management and customer service staff make the experience excruciatingly painful. By far, this is the most mismanaged store I have ever seen in the retail business. They do not care about what is best for the customer whatsoever. For example, over the phone I have been flat-out lied to when a representative mentioned that only one therapist was sick, when in reality both were, and asked us to reschedule appointments with both of our female therapists that we were supposed to have. Also, my girlfriend and I both had preferences of female therapists, but they constantly pushed for male therapists to be in our couples room massage instead (if the original females were out or sick). Another point to note is that they do not care about the customer's schedules. For example, my girlfriend and I cannot attend massages on the weekdays due to work schedules, but they consistently insisted upon scheduling us during the week to make up for a canceled appointment at the last minute. When an appointment is canceled, they notify you last minute. They do not inform customers soon enough when appointments are canceled, and before you know it, you have to schedule a two-year anniversary massage three weeks later, which is exactly what happened to me. Things were great up until a few months ago. Now we have come to realize that the customer relations representatives make this experience completely awful and not worth the money whatsoever. If you are a couple or person in need of a massage and a monthly plan for relaxation, DO NOT go to Desert Ridge for your massage needs. read more

My husband cancelled his membership in July 2022 and I noticed today they have been billing him $75.00 every month since. He went in to Message Envy to inquire about this and they basically told him so sad too bad. They advised they have it noted in the system that he wanted to cancel but they never received a cancellation form from him. However, in July 2022 when he cancelled, he cancelled with the manger, who is no longer there, but she did not have him sign anything etc. The funny thing is, that when I use to go there, they would call me if I went a month without coming in, but they don't call my husband to inquire why he hasn't been coming in. They just keep taking out money for a total to $1275.00, and he got nothing in return. What a total scam and very unprofessional way to do business. We have called the corporate office twice now with no return calls. Keep away from these people, they could care less about your well being. They only care about their pocket book. Firstly: the staff is great, I had a facial done with Devon and I really did enjoy my experience. Here's my reasoning behind 2/5 stars: I've never gotten a massage or facial before and for my birthday this year I received a free facial or massage (60 minutes). I booked a facial online and went in the next day which was today. Again, the staff was fantastic and I have no complaints about them at all. When I was done, I came out to the desk and was ready to just give her my gift card and to pay the tip on my card since I was assuming the tip amount wasn't included on the gift card. *note: the gift card definitely wasn't a numerical amount, it literally just said "enjoy a free 60 minute facial or 60 minute massage". I stood at that front desk for a solid few minutes straight refusing to sign up for that monthly subscription since she wouldn't take no for an answer. I know that it's not her fault and she's trying to make a commission/ following the companies rules, but it was really getting annoying. Also, when I wouldn't make another appointment with her, she said "Devon does get booked very quickly and you may have trouble finding a day that works for you" I found that hard to believe because last night at 11pm when I was looking at her availability, there were 3 spots still open for today. I know for a fact that I won't have trouble booking a facial in the middle of the day on a work/school day. When it came to pay, finally, I said I wanted to tip her $25. She then said I owed $41 on my card. I was already annoyed and ready to leave so I didn't question it sadly and just gave her my card. When I do decide to get another facial or massage, I definitely won't be going to a chain company since they all want the same thing: more money!!! But if you do decide to come here for a facial, Devon is so sweet and gets right to it. She really made my first facial experience great. I just can't stand the company itself. read more

Poor customer service. I signed up for a monthly auto charge in June this year. I attempted to cancel over the phone two weeks prior to the first monthly charge being drawn but was told that a cancellation form needed to be completed by me and placed in my file (understandable). Days later, I visited, completed the form, submitted the signed form and received a copy. Now, two month's later, they're still attempting to charge my card and have told me that I'll need to pay for another month of service should I wish to use any of the services that I paid for and haven't yet received. They've made no attempt to correct the matter even though the cancellation form was misfiled on their end and have said that they have no way to "work around the way that their computer system works." In addition, no manager has been available any time I've called. Services during my last appt were mediocre, with the aesthetician and masseuse spending more talking about the products than actually performing the services. I have never written a bad review about a business I've used. This service was so bad, however, that I felt the need to share my experience. read more

I've been 4 times. 3/4 times they startedlate for my appointment start time, but they always seem to finish on time! Last time I was asked by the front desk staff if I wanted to pay for my service and leave a tip for the provider BEFORE they started my appointment late. One visit I heard a masseuse fight with the front desk because he felt that he wasn't getting as many appointments as his colleagues. This was in front of 5 customers. I have had great service from the estheticians/ masseuses, otherwise I would have given one star I'm going to give this location one more try because they are new, but if they can't improve their customer service I'll pay the extra money and go back to Dolce! read more

I would've given 3 or 4 stars for my experience, but... I signed an agreement for a 6 mo membership. Submitted my cancellation paperwork well in advance and was still charged for three additional months nonetheless. So frustrating, it feels like such a scam. I received a refund (for a very odd amount that I can't figure out), but no apology. I got the sense when I called that the front desk staff couldn't have cared less and that it seemed to happen more than occasionally. I had three massage therapists in the six months I went. One of them did not stop talking even though I made it very apparent I wanted to relax and not talk. LaRyssa is the best one in the place, she truly does an amazing job. However, the front desk staff can be completely off putting and massages generally started a good 5-7 min late and never went over to make up for it. Also, cross your fingers you don't get a room near the bathroom. Nothing as relaxing as listening to the toilet flush repeatedly when you're trying to de-stress. Overall, I recommend going with groupon for a good deal. At $60/mo, it's not an exceptional price. And the hassle of having to submit a cancellation request in writing and then check your bank statements to make sure it went through, is NOT worth it. read more

Don't ever buy the BOGO gift cards. I made that mistake last year for Mothers Day. They gave me two "promo" cards. I used one without incident last year, but noticed on the receipt that it was valued roughly $55, which didn't make sense because that wasn't even half of the BOGO price of $125. I didn't think anything of it since I had the service and there was no up charge. I tried to use my remaining voucher at Desert Ridge and was told that I had to pay the difference. I reiterated that it was a BOGO that I had even purchased at that same location. They said that they would discuss it with a manager and could they hold onto the voucher. I stupidly allowed this since I had the receipt of the original purchase. No one ever called me and they charged the service to my credit card in file. I never approved this and tried to dispute with Chase, but they said without a receipt showing that I used a gift card, there was nothing they could do because having my card on file (which is a requirement to make an appointment) essentially authorized them to charge me. I went back to the location to talk to the manager and the same two ppl were there as my appt. Neither of them claimed to know what I was talking about....believe me, they remembered, I was nice but very vocal about it at the time of the appointment. Anyway, the woman looks up my appt and says I'm sorry that happened, I'll have my manager refund it. I said thank you and asked them to have the manager call me to confirm. Five days later, no call, no credit. These ppl are fraudulent in the way they handle the value of BOGO promotions and are outright deceitful. read more

This complaint is against the franchise, not a specific location. I've been going to ME randomly for about a year & a half, but realized it's not important enough to warrant monthly billing. The hoops you have to jump through to cancel are ridiculous - I'm in AZ now but have to call original CT location. They want 30 days, a phone call with their membership coordinator & another hit to my credit card. Of course I will edit their ridiculous forms & contact my CC company, as I'm done and the good will earned by their subcontractors is now gone, gone & gone. PS To anyone cancelling, you don't have to sign their paperwork as written. Just edit it to reflect what you agree to abide by (what I've done). I found a therapist here at Desert Ridge location that is THE most intuitive therapist I've EVER found. I hope disclosing Alicia's name doesn't make her so busy I can't get in, but it's worth the risk. I've been a member of M.E. Since their first location opened years ago. Alicia is the best therapist I've ever had and I didn't review until I'd experienced her massages three times. She knows all the physical aspects, but her intuition is what sets her apart from any other therapist I've ever experienced. Each time I've been there, she tunes right into wherever it hurts and makes it vanish. She can make my body stretch and relax like I've never experienced, and I do get massages on a regular basis. I'm glad her schedule is late in the day, I can almost roll off the table and into bed (good thing it's a short drive home) and get the most restful night sleep ever. read more

Shannon was just finishing a massage and I was told to wait while the front desk spoke with the therapist to let her know that I was waiting. Unfortunately, I waited 20 minutes for an answer and I was unable to get a massage even though a therapist was scheduled to work at that time and was available! The therapist just doesn't like money or reoccurring clients! She had errands to run instead of making money. So...... don't waste your time at this massage envy. Your money isn't green enough for the snooty patooty therapist.... she has better things to do! Massage Envy uses highly rated Murad products. My skin looks and feels smooth and hydrated. The warm bed and hand and arm massage made the experience extra relaxing. I left feeling pampered and tranquil. I asked about pricing options. Memberships and products were recommended but there was zero pressure. The membership plan does have some price advantage and flexibility. I passed on the plan and products without issue. I wouldn't hesitate to return. The staff (Matt) was very helpful guiding me to the person that he thought would help me most. Jinnea was my massage therapist. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of having a massage with one of the best - Tina! She was expert in finding those areas of concern; using just the right pressure. Update: Don't go here and don't get a membership. This place is a financial NIGHTMARE. After the last fiasco of them charging my card without my consent, which took months to fix, I cancelled my membership in July and two months later I'm STILL being charged. They had the paperwork, it was all signed and dated in January and I called to confirm with them in July. Doesn't matter. Every time you call you get a very nice person that explains very nicely how someone else must have done something wrong and you end up calling again a month later and explaining it all over again. Write down dates and names you talked to. Their customer service and amateur paperwork filing skills have outweighed ANY amount of stress relief the massages I've gotten here. You deserve better! Previous review: I've had much better service at the Peoria location but as we moved, this location inconsistently insists that we have to contact our "home location" for issues. Sometimes they handle the problem and other times I have been charged money without consenting instead of using credits on my husbands and my joint account.
