They're always available when I call or they call me back immediately. The staff is super knowledgeable and the masseuse do a great job of making sure that what I need done gets done and checking in with me during my stay I'm always really relaxed and I love coming here. read more

Rather have your money than your business. Bought a gift card for someone. The person provided gift card to redeem service. The service was cancelled within terms required. The value of the credit is on his profile and is unredeemed. Manager said without the physical gift card you do not have a credit, despite the full history in the computer. She herself quoted how much unused credit is on his profile. There is a running theme with this location-Do not do long term business with this establishment. I believe I've had just one or two massages from Massage Envy (one without a contract and the second following the signing of a contract). It's now been 4 months into my contract and I haven't seen anyone. I believe there is a shortage on massage therapists, I am also pregnant and so only specific masseuses can give me massages which they have none of. How can you force me to pay monthly and keep me bound to this contract when YOU aren't providing me with the services that I signed for? If I was receiving my monthly massages I'd be okay. But I haven't gotten anything, nor do they have the staff to accommodate me, and yet I HAVE to remain on the contract and pay for the remainder of my 12 months? I want OUT!! I should've done my research on this company and never signed. Beware everyone else, save yourself the trouble and do not bother with them. I had a great massage last week with Ruth, nothing to complain or report. My only grievance was that I had booked a 60 minute session from 3-4, and I my massage only lasted 50 minutes. Now I did arrive which was my fault and my massage didn't started till 10 mins past my start time, again my fault. However when it was over and I checked the time and it was 3:55 so I didn't even hit the hour mark. I wasn't sure about leaving a review, so I slept on whether to provide feedback. But the massage I had last night was likely the worst I have had in the 15 years I've been receiving almost monthly massages across a dozen practices. There are several reasons, but grouped together I would say mostly I felt the therapist was not properly trained or perhaps was new, lacked precision, and was largely disinterested. The session began by me explaining I would like some focus on neck and shoulders. In most 60 minute sessions, this can be done while also covering a general relaxation treatment of the rest of the body. Instead, I was left asking for at least the upper half of my body, explicitly stating not only neck and shoulders, but face and scalp then, if it would only be the upper half. In the end, I got basically a treatment for my shoulders and base of the neck. No attention to lower back, to upper neck, to scalp, or to face. The treatment that was given was extremely poor. Much of it was simply the therapist leaning against my back with what I believe was their forearm. This wasn't working out a knot or anything. Just long periods of moderate pressure (and not in a stretching way as I've had done before). The therapist's movements just seemed haphazard in large part, and overall I actually have considered asking about the person's credentials at this point. Furthermore, the sheets were not taut, but sloppily draped, made worse by a chilly room. It was all just very uncomfortable. I should have stopped the session, but I kept hoping it would improve. And the therapist never gave their name, so I'm not even sure how to refer to this person when I submitted a complaint. This was my test sessions to see about subscribing, as I've heard good things from family about ME. But given how truly awful the session was, I don't see myself returning. Perhaps this was a one-time fluke of a poor session. I just can't see myself paying that type of money to try again. read more

Unfortunately I wasn't able to concentrate on nor enjoy my massage, my massage therapist Mary I think had a ring on or long nails IDK, I kept feeling a scratch when she would do certain techniques very uncomfortable and especially when it came to my abdomen I wanted her to just stop... Also the room was cold and I don't think my table was heated sheesh. Oh and I don't think I've ever received a massage with lotion? It was just all off... I normally go to Red Door or Wat Massage where I always leave feeling like a brand new person! The massages I've received in the pass have been the best and brag worthy! I was very disappointed because I've heard so many good things about Massage Envy's in the DMV but hey, now I know. The lemonade was good. I booked online and was charged $75 the receipt said $0.00 owed. After my 60 minute massage with Alex (incredible) I was told by AMANDA my balance was $20? Amanda the clerk told me that their location was more expensive than others that I would have to pay. I told her I was not prepared to pay. She said the app is a third-party app. They are well aware of the discrepancy on the app. AWFULL I should've been made aware of this charge prior to receiving the service. This team on in professionals FAILED to do so. I will keep my business in rockville and Gaithersburg owned by a different person. This franchise practices unethical sales and business practices!!! After writing and emailing corporate about this particular location, Massage Envy will not produce my contract and clarify why a member cannot cancel their membership. Within (3) days of visiting the location , I decided that the customer service was not what it was hyped up to be, dissatisfied, I contacted the email provided requested to cease my contract with Massage Envy- Downtown Silver Spring. I NEVER received any services or products! I requested to cancel the membership and the cease authorization to charge my credit card. I received an email a couple days later, basically saying the membership was 12 months and you cannot cancel.. BS!! I've called the location serval times and being ignored from the franchise and corporate contacts. This is not HOW you do business! EVERY Fortune 100 company has a cancellation policy, whether you have to pay an opt out fee or not, is based on the contract. I haven't received a phone call back from the Owner or Regional Manager regarding my membership and it's been 60 days!! This franchise has illegally tried to charge my credit card 4x since I've sent my request to cancel my authorization of payment and membership!! There has been no further communication, no services provided, only sneaky sales people trying to increase their commission. I have contacting the Montgomery County's Consumer Affairs and the BBB about this franchise and their unethical tactics to keep people connected to their poor establishment. They won't let me cancel my membership. We just bought a house and I didn't think that maintaining a membership was financially doable for me anymore. When I arrived for my (I thought) final session, I explained that I would like to cancel to the girl at the front desk. She said ok I'll have your paperwork ready when you are finished so you can enjoy your massage! I said ok sounds good. When I came out after my massage, another woman with blonde hair said, after I went to the desk thinking I was filling out exit paperwork, that the contract was 12 months and binding. I explained the situation and she just grinned and said 'well then a massage will he nice after moving.' REALLY? Why was the other younger girl willing to provide paperwork and then another woman said absolutely not? Ridiculous. Oh also, I lost my wedding ring there. In my opinion Massage Envy cares more about profits than their customers. I paid in full for a 6 month membership. After the six months was completed I have 21/2 sessions left because I had not signed a cancellation agreement form they held my sessions hostage and would not allow me use what I had already paid for. Under direst I paid for another month because I did not want to lose what I already paid. I am in the process of cancelling the service, using up my sessions and never coming back. The front desk and the massage therapist are nice but ME's policies leave me feeling stressed out and unappreciated from a customer perspective. They never reached out to me to say "hey your six months membership is expiring we hope you are enjoying your experience. Perhaps because -- like me -- all the others who've found it want to keep this place our own little hidden gem and secret oasis in the middle of downtown Silver Spring. I legit thought about NOT writing a review, because I don't want it to become too difficult for me to schedule an appointment here when I need it. But this place is just too good to keep all to myself. I am an office worker who has been weightlifting with a trainer for more than a year. Between that, the stressors of life, and my otherwise sedentary lifestyle, my muscles were a big ball of tension and pain. Enter Massage Envy. As part of my new commitment to self-care, I dug up a three-year old gift card I received from a relative and finally put it to good use. I got a 30-minute Streto stretch with Christopher, followed by a one-hour massage with Chaowei. And let's just say it was the BEST thing I've ever done. I left that place with a range of motion in my neck that I haven't had in YEARS. And I could tell that I felt better all over. In fact, I felt so good that I signed up for a 1-year membership on the spot (because the one-time application fee is waived if you sign up on the day-of). I'm super excited to make regular massages (and occasionally, facials) a part of my new way of life. A 90 minute facial that cost $260 with tip (I know...shame on me for paying such a ridiculous amount) and left me with bleeding marks on my forehead after extractions and skin overall worse than when I entered. Also, I thought she would break my nose during the extraction process. The manager finally responded to my complaints without responding if you know what I mean. Then, had the nerve to offer me a free enhancement on my next facial to compensate! Next facial? I'll never go there again. Stay far, far away from this place. I can not wait to cancel my membership with ME Silver Spring, and keep enjoying better service at Hand and Stone. Obviously ME Silver Spring doesn't care about their clients and just about their numbers. I just encourage people to please try the other company. ME it is expensive, VERY expensive compared to Hands and Stone, it is only 50 minutes massage, because of 5 minute to talk to u and 5 minute to get ready, and you CAN NOT break the contract, while in Hand and Stone there is no contract required, longer massages and cheaper fees. I went to Massage Envy for the first time last Friday and received the worst massage of my life. I left feeling like a needed a massage to recover from my massage. The masseuse was not gentle and felt like he might still be in training. He only used lotion ONCE which led to a very uncomfortable and painful massage. At one point, he used his forearms to rub my back and I could feel the buttons of his sleeve rubbing my back. At the end of my massage, he moved his fingers along the back of my neck which was incredibly painful and left a dull pain in my neck. I had been looking forward to this massage for several weeks and was let down. When I called and spoke with the manager about the terrible massage, she offered for me to come back for discounted services. I told her that I never wanted to come back and I only wanted my money back . She refused to give me my money back because the service was already completed. My fiancé treated us to a surprise couple's massage. But unfortunately, it was the worst massage I've ever had. I went in and asked for the person to focus on my back, shoulders, and neck. During the actual "consultation", I asked the guy to focus on one specific spot that held all my tension in my back. Instead, he gave me a full body massage. I'm giving two stars because my fiancé really enjoyed his massage (and his person actually listened to what he wanted) and I guess I should have redirected my person during the massage, so I guess it was on me for not telling him a third time what I wanted (but shouldn't he have listened the first two times?). I'm not sure what he did to me though - I felt fine going in, and I couldn't sleep last night because my back was in so much pain. And if I go back? I wish I had taken before and after pictures when I had my facial. My super dry skin was smooth and silky; the redness I typically have was toned down, and visible lines were waaay less obvious. The products put on my skin smelled really nice (Murad). I opted for an add-on that you get in the 90 min. facial, and the soothing seaweed mask was the finishing touch to this great experience. I had the same experience as Victoria J. I came in specifically for a half-hour shoulder massage, but got a full body massage instead. I still had my pants on, and the masseur still manipulated and contorted my legs to stretch them, lol--I don't really consider that "massage." I should have interrupted to tell him to focus on my shoulders, as requested, but was curious to see what a typical session entailed. The pressure was far too hard. My arms are still tender to the touch the next day from getting drilled by an elbow. On the plus side, I was a walk-in and was able to book a session right away. read more
