I've been coming here regularly for over a year now and this place is great! Prices are a little over a dollar per minute plus tip and you don't need an appointment, there's almost never a wait. I don't have back pain or anything like that, I just come in for relaxation. It's always a nice experience there, but more than that I've found I benefit when I'm in the habit of coming in regularly (i.e. every 1-2 weeks)- my body just feels better overall, and my baseline mental health improves. As others have said, it's no frills so don't expect a spa type of experience. You keep your clothes on (best to wear sweatpants or shorts), and you can hear the noise from the mall and people talking in the background. But it's clean, the massage tables are comfortable, and the practitioners are very good. They do tend to use heavy pressure, so if that's not your thing be prepared to ask them go lighter. Beyond that it might be a little difficult to communicate detailed preferences, but personally I don't really find a need to. They will include feet unless you ask them not to. My advice is to do a 45 or 60 minute session (30 is not enough) and just let them do their thing! read more

I am an African American man and I live in the neighborhood. I came to get a combo foot massage/ reflexology for one hour on Saturday afternoon around 2:00pm. When I arrived the front was empty and I was told by the lady at the front desk I would have a short maybe five minutes wait.Shortly after I arrived two white ladies came and the lady at the front ushered them to go in even though they came after me. I had read about this place years ago and checked out the reviews. My friend has sciatica, so I made us appointments for acupuncture and reflexology. Our appointments were about 20 and 30 mins. The mall music was really good and carried me through my session as he kneaded my legs, toes and ankles with a lot of good and much needed pressure. I saw good reviews and prices is pretty decent $40 for 40 minutes i was like why not. But i have a guy doing hard massage and it hurts like hell. i ask him for less pressure and still hard like he don't care. the acupressure i guest means rough massage lol. I know it's just me so i think that is just my own personal opinion. i been to so many Spa/massage place and back in texas they do foot massage at this price that will also do whole body and it's not as rough as this place. This used to be my little gem of a place that i could go to with various aches and pains and have an amazing massage . The practitioners could find my knots and just break all the tension. Last time i went the massage therapist was very good but the therapists were all talking loudly to eachother and it was very disturbing and not relaxing. I love this place so much. Massages are great and convenient. Everyone who works there is professional and courteous. They take the pandemic seriously and mask and wipe down surfaces in between customers. For being an affordable massage place at the mall, the atmosphere is nice (I like they constructed a little wall to the massage area to keep out at least some of the mall noise). Splurge for the combo if you can. I did an hour combo the first time I went back after a year away (due to the pandemic) and it came with hot stones, hot towels, etc. So much luxury!!! Be sure to bring cash for tips. They used to be more lax on that, and they're starting to be more forceful about it now. A cheap, fantastic way to heal your body via massage (acupressure)! All my massage therapists have been great and caring. Always ask if I want water afterwards. But recognize that it's not a spa and the noise from the mall is apparent. It's a communal room, you keep your clothes on, and the therapists chat with each other during your session. You can walk in, ask for basically however long you want, add 15 min for reflexology/feet or not (hint: DO!), and then immediately someone strong will knead the hell out of your muscles. It's absolutely glorious. No frills. At all. But very clean. There is one main room and a couple of semi-private rooms, and you keep your clothes on. The extent of the conversation is like "medium or hard?" and "This ok?" I've had probably a dozen massages there now and they've ranged from great to really great to OH MY GOD AMAZING. It took me years to get the nerve to walk into a mall storefront massage place but let me tell you, be braver than I was--if you want that kind of get-the-knots-out massage on demand, there is no better place. This is my absolute favorite place for a massage. I even choose it over the free massage therapy offered by my company. I have a nerve condition that causes me a lot of pain and these massages are seriously the best ever, particularly when Lisa and Frank are available. The prices are great (a little over a dollar a minute) and the massage therapists have so much healing experience and always make sure I leave feeling better. I called same day and was able to secure a spot for an hour later! That is rare, and was awesome because I woke up with a mean knot in my shoulder. My masseuse was very kind, and adjusted pressure when I asked for it a little harder. She even focused on the knot in my shoulder, and tightness in my lower back. Even when my timer went off, she continued for a few more minutes to ensure all points were hit, I appreciated that. The only reason they get 4 starts not 5, is because I was on a bed in a shared, birghtly lit room. I am used to a private room, dark, with relaxing music playing. I could hear the techs talking to each other, clients checking out, and even noise from the mall. This was slightly disappointing. They also didn't use and blankets or towels where other salons would typically feature them. They used a towel instead of a blanket, even though you kept your clothes on. They used paper towels where other salons would've used towels (on face when laying on stomach, over eyes when lying on back). $55 for an hour long massage is comparable to massage envy, and they have private rooms! I will say the style of massage was new to me, but I liked it. Overall, if you need to get a massage same day, I say this is your place! If you want to plan a relaxing day, I would suggest Massage Envy, or take it a step up and book with Red Door Spa. read more

This is the place to go for massages if you want to have a serious knot or soreness beat out of you. This is probably one of the most effective massage place I've ever been! Here, I let them use their normal intensity, which often has points that are painful (but in satisfying way, like when you press a bruise), but I walk away feeling so much more flexible. They have a systematic way of releasing knots along key areas, like the shoulder blades, spine, and pelvis. I fell on my tail bone in January and visits there have helped fix it, and a lady in the waiting room said going here helped her walk again! That being said, this is the complete opposite of a "zen", relaxing massage. Rather than calming music, there's talking and mall noises. You're in a room with many other strangers. The sanitation is a bit ambiguous (but everyone keeps their clothes on so it doesn't bother me much). But I feel those zen places never deliver on actual effective massage techniques. Some tips: if no one is out front, that means they're all occupied, but when someone completes a massage they'll come out. This could mean a long wait, and this place can get busy outside of 9-5. Also the service can be inconsistent. I had one masseuse (of 5 visits) who was distracted and would frequently stop to go do who knows what. Don't order the herbal soak - it's maybe not super clean and takes valuable time off your massage. Finally, many of the masseuses aren't fluent in English, so don't expect to go in and communicate every nuance of what you want. Hope that helps. I am obsessed with Pandian Health's acupressure service. The acupressure is incredible and the price is just shockingly affordable. 10$ for 10 min, 20$ for 20 min. That's an excellent deal. I would never have thought a little shop in the mall would be so amazing, but I was totally wrong. After my massages I feel so good. I have done massage in the States and Asia (China and Thailand), and this is definitely one of the best massage spots I've been, price- and service-wise. I'm so glad Silver Spring has such a hidden gem. The massage therapist is very honest, down-to-earth, and defining experienced in what he does. The massage felt a little painful (but it always will when you have some tight muscles), but comfortable and healing at the same time. I would say this is much better than a massage I had previously in Bethesda which charges 5 times the price, and even better than the massage I had in China. Like many reviewers mentioned, this place has no privacy, is sometimes loud, and might not look as cool as the other massage places here. But hey, for this price, this is a very good deal. For a no-frills, walk-in, solid acupressure to relieve some pain or stress, Pandian hits a home run. This is your basic, no privacy, in the mall, looking for a quick fix massage place. I came in on a Tuesday evening around 6, and to my surprise, there was no wait. I requested a 30 minute acupressure ($30), and the nice man at the front desk quickly introduced me to Annie, my acupressure masseuse. I told her about my pain (in Chinese), and she quickly began the timer, and first relaxed my entire body with a combination of kneading and arm pressure. Then, she offered me a hot towel (wrapped with a plastic bag) which I really appreciated to relieve some of my hip pain. She had some Chinese herbal lotion to massage my shoulder and sore spots. Despite this massage center being in the middle of an open mall, no doors, so you can clearly hear the top 40 music playing in the mall, other people's conversation, the timers going off, communal massage tables, and so on--the technique was so good and the staff had such a warm presence, I didn't mind. I got an instant quick massage without having to make an appointment, and the staff was really nice and caring. I really appreciate masseuses' who take their time to apply pressure to acupoints and don't rush each movement. Pandian Health is the highlight of this shopping center, and I can definitely see myself coming back, especially with their free frequent member card, which they gave you a stamp after every 30 minutes so you're tenth one is free. This is my go-to spot when I'm feeling achy. Spinal cord surgery (~ 25 years ago) left me walking with a limp. I do 2 hour sessions and always feel like I grew two inches after. It's much easier for me to move around and I feel great. This is not a typical spa experience. It's in the mall, you're in an open space so you hear a little background noise (which doesn't bother me), and you don't pay the extra money that comes with a spa experience. I go because I want the effects of acupressure, so for me, the treatment is not the highlight (there's a lot of "pressure" in acupressure). The highlight is how I feel after the treatment. Appointments get you in faster when they're busy, so I call ahead if I'm on a schedule. I highly recommend this establishment. read more

I just spent 2 plus weeks preparing for a major move (all while entertaining my 15 month old) and I hurt. I tried to get into more of a spa place - because who wouldn't want "me" time after that, but when I was told that I'd have a 2 month or more wait...I decided to go with the next best option, and BOY am I glad I did! These guys are great! I walked in (on a Tuesday night) and was taken back to a table directly. I was asked what spots hurt the most (neck, shoulders, upper back) and the majority of that 30 minutes was spent on those areas. I was so relaxed, that I asked to have my feet done for an additional 15 minutes, and they didn't give me any issues with the extended time - but made me feel like I was the only one there when they gave me a blanket, pillow, and an eye shade for my face (helps you go off to lala land...and it was so relaxing). One thing that I like the best - if you live close enough to take advantage of this - get one of their cards....you get 9 massages, and you'll get your 10 one free! (30 minutes). The prices are great too - 30 minutes = $30. and when you just moved, and you don't have hundreds to spend at a spa...this is a great option! Also - you can park in the parking garage (Wayne Parking Garage I believe) and it's not a far walk around the block to get to the location. I will be making several trips back. Wow, this massage/reflexology place is a hidden gem! It is also the definition of do not judge a book by its cover because it is completely unassuming from the outside! There is also no luxurious spa-like equipment or furniture, but what this place lacks in upkeep, they make up for with the quality of their massages! My best friend and I always opt for couples massages, where we typically ask for the same room. I was running late, so unfortunately she started her massage right on time and I had to wait outside for a while. It's totally understandable as they have a business to run and it was a decently busy Saturday night. This is not a complaint, just don't make the mistake I did and arrive late! It can be tough to find parking but take that into account if driving here. Anyways, when I got into the massage room, I noticed my bff had left all her clothes on and I did the same because we were in the office-like room with a computer on another side - like I said, totally unassuming and random! When my masseuse started kneading my back, none of that mattered because I realized I was getting one of the best massages EVER! This lady knew how to work each and every knot out of my muscles. She used a combination of deep tissue and trigger point, and she really knew which spots needed attention and targeted those until I was completely relaxed. What this place is... a no frills, no appointment, good, inexpensive massage place. Yes, they do talk while you're getting the massage... yes, it is a big room with multiple massage tables...but then again, I just wanted a good massage, not a SPA treatment. I've been having an annoying shoulder, upper back pain for the past week. I guess I was lucky that there was no communication issue with the massage therapist. Told her where I had the pain and that I only wanted a 15 min massage in that area. That is exactly what she delivered. A great massage where I needed it. I'm feeling great now. I am baffled as to how this place has such a high rating. When I walked up, I should have immediately turned around and walked out. I was looking to relax during a massage and reflexology, and while this place has that, it is SO far from relaxing. If you don't care at all about ambiance, this might be for you; however, I was uncomfortable the entire time. There was no privacy whatsoever (everyone is in the same room right when you walk in), and it is INCREDIBLY loud. The therapists and the receptionist were talking to each other (loudly) the entire time, and luckily, the guy next to me was assertive enough to ask "can you stop talking and please focus on my massage"? While I just sat there, counting down the minutes until I could leave. The other thing that sucks, is it is right across from a guitar store, where people were practicing guitars the entire time! Here's a bullet point run down: TIPS: -Wear comfortable clothes suitable for a massage as they will be massaging you with clothes on. I personally like to wear leggings. -Consider headphones. This is located next to a guitar center so you will be able to hear guitars and other mall noise. Close your eyes, pop in some relaxing music, and create your own ambiance. -Don't have cash? Tip on the receipt, but ask for the cash back so you can give it directly to the therapist. PRO: -SOOO Affordable- It boils down to $1/minute. I normally get the 45 minute combo massage. -Skilled therapists. The pressure is great and they know all the pressure points! The pressure seems to be on the firmer side. With American therapists, this would be the equivalent of a deep tissue, but they can go easy if you ask them. -No appointments needed! I never make an appointment and I've always been able to get a therapist within 15 minutes of walking in. -Your time starts when you are in the chair ready to go not like other 1 hour massages where 10 minutes is spent changing, etc. I am getting the full value of my money. CON: -No privacy -Lots of outside noise. Next to a guitar center. -Not all therapists speak English well. Overall, very good for the price. It has its positive and negatives. Positive: Clean, friendly, fast - I walked in and was seen right away, good prices, efficient massage. Negative: No privacy, you're side by side with other people. Not a deal breaker but if you want to be alone, then you may not like it. It can get noisy because they don't close the door leading to the mall. You can hear people in the mall walking by. A few times the employees talked to each other - usually in a whisper- and it was a little distracting. It might help if they played soft music in the background to offset the music in the mall. I have been to this place a few times and today will be my last. I went there because of a lower back pain and paid fir 1 hour which is $60. I have been weight lifting and my trainer recommended a place to me. With covid I decided to go with my local place to support them. When the lady was done I got up and felt the pain in my lower back and knew that the massage didn't do it's thing. The lady asked how I was feeling and I said I was feeling great. I am the kind of person who respect people's effort and find it difficult to say I am not satisfied. But I was not mad at all. I just brushed it iff and told myself my back needs time to heal... So I head to the entrance to give my tip and the lady says to me "this is not enough". I paid $60 for the service and tipped her 17%. I thought for a second that she was saying something else( because sometimes it's difficult to hear with a mask on). When I said pardon me, she repeated rudely "this is not enough". ..to believe this place was actually recommend to me, so I walked on my lunch break to get a foot message. OMG no one could answer my questions. I spoke with 3 different people. I was trying get more information about the differences in their services. Every person I tried to communicate with could not understand/or speak English very well. Finally thinking going to get a foot message with a bottle of water, me not understand the foot tech, she brought out bucket of water for me to soak my feet for 15 minutes. I looked at her and said I don't want to soak my feet for 15minutes. So she angrily went to get the owner and thankfully she could speak English that I could understand. Then I explained to her what I wanted. The owner literally scolded her right in front of me. I couldn't understand but the foot tech was not happy....and after that I really didn't want her touching my feet. The energy was wack. She proceeded, I actually apologize to her about the mis-understanding, but she was clearly not happy. She finished the message and I was like I should of had a V8. Oddly enough while I was sitting there a pregnant lady came asking questions about there services just like I did. Low and behold they just wanted to take her in the back and message her....they couldn't really go into much detail about the services. She asked pricing and what insurance did they take, none them had a clue...and it was almost if they never heard these types of questions before working in the business that they do. I have had many foot massages in my life (problematic feet, you know). Some good, some bad, some so painful I could barely leave the store. I have never fallen asleep in the chair because it felt so good...until now. In fact, there were two other people having the reflexology foot massage in there and we were ALL asleep. The guy next to me snored a few times :) As other reviewers have noted, this place is not fancy. You will hear typical mall noises-kids yelling, people talking, crappy canned mall music. You will smell the food people are carrying by the shop. And guess what...YOU WILL NOT CARE. The roof could have collapsed on me and I would have just adjusted my head, brushed the dust off my hair, and fallen asleep again. Did I mention I was only there for 25 minutes? Sleep does not happen lightly to me - I usually take about 45 minutes to fall asleep at night, even when I'm exhausted. This is why I cannot believe I fell asleep after about 7 minutes at this place. So, this is how it goes down. I walked in and had to wait a couple minutes until someone was free to help me. I really appreciated that the staff who already had customers didn't ditch their customers to help me. I've had that happen to me before and I did not like it one bit. A man came out of the back and asked me what I wanted. I said, '20 minute reflexology foot massage please.' He offered, for an additional $5, the chinese herbal foot soak. DO IT. Don't hesitate, don't ask for it to be thrown in for free. Just nod your head and sit down. The stuff is magic. So I sat down in the chair and he reclined it for me. I adjusted the lumbar pillow (heaven!) and settled in. He brought out the tub with the herbal foot soak and I (gently) plopped my feet in (no splashing, that is just rude). I was wearing slim jeans and he had trouble rolling them up to my knees. Lesson #1, let the man work on your calves. Trust me, you want that. So don't wear tight jeans that he won't be able to roll up all the way. He started the massage on my feet and, while my right foot soaked, began to work his magic on my left foot. As I mentioned before, I have really problematic feet. Sensitive spots, regularly hurt tendons, and (to top it off) since I moved last week, I'm also bruised. He wasn't gentle, but it never hurt. He managed to find all my bad spots without me telling him. He even found a few I didn't know I had. The middle bit of the massage gets hazy because, well, I fell asleep. Not fully snoring asleep...but I was in a hazy, warm place where the world was right and good. The guy next to me? Well, I assume he was doing the 40 minute foot massage. Repeat with the other foot. He ended the massage with some leg thumping (amazing!) and then offered to work on my back. If I'd planned ahead, I would have absolutely let him. Sadly, I had somewhere else I needed to be. The woman at the desk who checked me out was very sweet as well. I am now the proud owner of a loyalty card - with the purchase of 9, 30-minute, massages, you get a 10th free. Great idea but, honestly, I would come back here 10 times without the loyalty card. I don't need an incentive beyond their service and professionalism and inexpensive prices. My massage (which was really more like 25 minutes, not 20) was $25 (plus a $5 tip for the amazing man). They offer full body massages and acupuncture. I was desperate for a foot massage after several weeks of running without stretching well. Saw the great reviews and thought I would give it a try. The massage itself was fine but the whole place is unsanitary. 1) my "massage therapist" never washed his hands before starting my massage 2) The table he used, he didn't even wipe, just put a paper towel on the face rest 3) He placed my bare feet and head on pillows that clearly had been used before 4) he repeatedly dipped his hands back in the same jar of massage cream. Most massage therapists take out the amount they need beforehand, or use a tube they can squeeze or pump. Every time he put his unwashed hand back in the jar with my germs on his hands I wondered how many other people he had massaged that same way and whose germs were now on me 5) he burped repeatedly throughout- not huge in the grand scheme of things but just added to my overall grossed out feeling It was cheap is the only good thing I can say but I went home worried about what diseases and illnesses I was carrying with me. read more

This place is awesome!!! One of my favorite things about Pandian Health is that you don't need to schedule an appointment ahead of time for a massage. I have walked past this place for years and finally stopped in on my lunch break because my neck and shoulders were killing me. I went for a 20 min massage and specifically told the guy upper back and neck. It was heaven! The second I got up I felt looser and the literal pain in my neck was gone! So relaxing and the masseurs were all very professional. I can't speak for the rest, but my guy had wonderful technique. I just went here for the first time a few days ago. I have consistent, sharp, lower back pain. It hurts when I sneeze. It is especially stiff when I get out of bed in the morning. I went to Pandian and got a 30 minute full body accupressure massage, and my back has not been hurting when I get out of bed or bend over. I don't think I've sneezed since my massage, but I have a feeling I won't get that same shooting pain. We'll see. It was $30 for 30 minutes, full body. This did not include feet. After the full body, he asked if I wanted my feet done, which would be an additional 15 minutes, but I declined. I don't have issues with my feet. In case it matters in gauging the validity of my review, this was my first massage ever. Not sure why I never tried it considering I frequently deal with body aches for a myriad of reasons. I don't get a massage to feel good about myself. I don't need a private room, with harps playing and candles burning. I like my muscles fondled like meat on a butcher's block. Just pound the shit out of me and make me feel limber. You'll definitely feel like a piece of meat at this place. You kick off your shoes, lay (head down) on one of 8 beds, keep your clothes on (you filthy pig), and let one of any of their strong-armed massage therapists get to work. They like to focus on the back but you can tell them to isolate other parts of your body. You will get a no-frills pounding, but you will walk away happy. I am hooked on this place! After reading the Yelp reviews yesterday, I decided to give it a try. I have recently been having major upper back and neck problems due to a crappy pillow I have been using. When I went in there was no wait and Linda took me right back to get a 30 minute back massage. It was so relaxing that I decided to get a 15 minute foot massage right after. I had no idea how much tension was in my feet until she starting working the tension right out! Next time I go I will be getting a full body massage and a longer foot massage. Hopefully I can start coming here every week! The good: - no wait - Linda is so sweet and amazing at what she does - very reasonably priced - all the staff are very professional - did not feel judged about my ugly feet :) - The very sweet woman at the front gave me a punch card. Cant wait to fill it up and get the 10th 30 minute massage free! The bad: - some guy who thought he could rap was standing right outside the store and gave all of us who could hear a pretty bad performance - parking With all that said, I just wanted to give everyone some advice: Give a great tip. This place is ahmaaazing! Reminds me of some of the places back in SE Asia where you just walk in and get a relaxing one hour massage. I suggest you make sure the person doing the massage knows enough English though because they have very strong hands and you'll need to tell them to be more gentle or you'll be crying uncle. 50 dollars gets you an incredible hour massage. Keep in mind you'll be laying next to four other people getting massages. This isn't a fancy spa. Well worth your money. read more

Always a great massage and good service. Not the place to go for a spa experience, just a really good massage.

I went to another massage place, it was like cheating: good, but not as fulfilling. I had to go back to Pandian a couple days after experimenting with 'another' cause I still had knots in my back. I've been working with Daphne at Pandian, she is WONDERFUL! She kneads me to a pulp. I think I'm in love. read more
