I had a massage with Kendra. After 20 minute wait I went.back to the counter to ask what the problem was and was told after realizing I hadn't been helped that the Kendra had not shown up.to work. I had planned my whole.day around this massage and even had an Uber ride there dropping me off. How unprofessional. Now this is the reason for the star. Ok so let me start by saying that I usually do not go to Massage Envy's... I've had too many bad experiences to continue to spend my money at this franchise, but one of my friends gave me a gift card for my Bday so I figured I would make use of it. I booked my appointment online which was super convenient but I thought it was odd that the website wouldn't let you fill out your address and stuff like they have you do once you're in store... So I got to my appointment at the requested 15 minutes prior and filled out the thingy that says all the spots the masseuse can touch and the spots you want them to focus on. Then I sat there. And sat there. And sat there. I am a stickler for my massages starting on time- as everyone should be- so when my appointment time approached I tried not to get irritated. My time was 11:30 and if the clock had made it to 11:40 and I had not been taken to the back, I would have said something. But right around 11:38 my masseuse, David, came to get me. We went to the room and it only took me less than a minute to undress and lay down. When you go for a massage you should wear as little clothes as possible just to make it easier. (At least that's what I do) I scheduled a 90 minute deep tissue. Let me tell you... if I could have taken David home with me, I would have. He was incredible!! I had ALOT more tension in my shoulders than I thought and he worked everything out. Oh em gee, I can't begin to tell you how I felt like a brand new woman afterwards! Definitely recommend him. He's at the one on Joe Battle. I didn't sign up for the monthly thingy, but I did schedule another appointment with David in three weeks. If he does as well as he did this time, I might just do the membership. So if you can get passed the whole franchise thing (which usually turns me off), go check him out! Excellent customer service. Justice is the massage therapist I have used for quite sometime. She ensures to make my experience as pleasurable as possible. She knows me and makes sure to ask about me while massaging. The staff is awesome too. Very clean during COVID. Has been my go to place for quite some time now. read more

I love Massage Envy. This location is my favorite mainly because of my masseuse, he is awesome, strong, thorough and personable. My second visit which was about 2 months apart from the first one, he remembered me and what most of my ailments were without looking at my chart. That is the sort of customer service I appreciate. If you are an athlete or a person that gets regular massages I highly recommend the membership. The hours of operations are perfect for people who work traditional 9-5 jobs. They are open late and they are open on the weekends, yes even Sundays. Also when you set your appointments you receive an email and courtsey call reminder. read more

Ah. This place is so-so. Not the relaxing, spa, zen-like atmosphere I would hope for (like Woodhouse) but affordable enough. It's a bit of a massage chop shop where there get you in and out. The rooms are very "down to business", but relaxing enough if you close your eyes. Idk about that $10 up-charge for aroma, I paid $25 for whole bottle. Professional staff that's eager to earn your business. I like their product line. I recommend this place for a regular massage kind-of-day; nothing special. read more

I signed up for a membership, but ending up cancelling it 3 months later because I received a confirmation call, to which I told the rep that I would not be able to make the appointment. Two days later, I was charged as a no show because I did not call back to cancel. First and last time I go here! I didn't even get the girls name. But I went this morning with my mother n law. Everything was good the whole massage, just not the receptionist! Point of the story I called last week to schedule the massage I was told it was $50! At the end where the receptionist spills all the membership crap, she was so nice until we stated we didn't want the membership. She then asks for our payment and states that it's $60 and that the prices changed after I told her we weren't given that price over the phone she stayed quiet!!!! My thing is DONT SAY A PRICE OVER THE PHONE AND NOT HONOR IT!!!!! I understand commission is what's needed in their job but don't be like that. The masseuse didn't take the time to review my chart before trying to walk me down the hall so was awkward slow walk while he tried to read what areas needed emphasis. I had to tell him four times to stop doing a deep tissue massage on my shoulders. He didn't turn in a heated blanket until halfway through the massage I was freezing. He was massaging my arms and legs so hard that my fingers and toes were retracting. I told him at the beginning I did not want deep tissue. Then the front desk could not even run my card for gratuity it took forever and while I waited another desk clerk just sat there and stared at me. After a mediocre massage, I was talked into joining for the year membership after my massage...but they sell you hard one this too. "You can cancel at any time, we can hold payments foe up to six months if you can't pay...etc". So I figured why not. Ended up canceling shortly after. Not only did they continue to charge my credit card but are sending me to collections because they lost the paperwork where I went int to cancel. I am in town visiting my parents and went to Massage Envy because a) it looked reputable and without a recommendation to guide me, "not sketchy" was my only criteria, and b) the spa specifically offered deep tissue massage. The pros: 1) Clean and pleasant environment. After you check in, you are ushered into a darkened waiting room with comfortable chairs and magazines. The massage room itself was spotless and furnished sparingly. The linens on the massage bed were soft and the bed can be heated if you prefer. Note: There is no changing room. You just dress/undress in the massage room. 2) Reasonably priced. For me, anyway. The service that I got--1.5 hour deep tissue massage with aromatherapy, including tip--costs about half what I pay at my usual upscale spa in New York. For El Paso, this place is probably more expensive than competitors in the area. 3) Jade, my masseuse, had a firm touch and capably performed a proper deep tissue massage. 4) Pre- and post-consultations help set expectations and give an opportunity to recap. I didn't have any major health/physical problems but I think these little courtesies are beneficial regardless and mark the good establishments from the just ok. Was happy to see Jade after the massage waiting for me with a glass of water. 5) Freebie! The leftover lotion/oil from my aromatherapy was bottled and given to me as a parting gift. A nice gesture. The cons: 1) Shortchanged on minutes. I signed up for an hour and a half massage and the treatment itself took up about 70 minutes. To Jade's credit, I didn't feel as if any area was neglected, but I think if you pay for 90 minutes, the clock starts the minute the massage starts. 2) The music. It's elevator music of the cheesy New Age variety. Though I wouldn't prefer silence, maybe raindrops, the ocean, or just anything without a softly yearning sax solo would be fine. Supposedly, Massage Envy has multiple locations across the country. Ultimately, it wants to sell you a membership so you'll come on a regular basis. It seems like a great deal, if you're the type who wants massages frequently and have the discretionary income to support that. For my one-time visit (or until I return back to El Paso, probably next year), I got the deep tissue I was looking for. From the receptionist who booked my appointment to the woman who received me at the spa to Jade, my masseuse, the service was very friendly and not pushy. Overall, I would recommend this place to others who are serious about massages. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. This place discriminated against my mother who has cancer. A WEEK AGO my mom made an appointment at Massage Envy. She called a different location and was informed that there was no one on site to do an oncology massage or to give someone who has cancer a massage. My mom then called the location in the Fountains. The receptionist told my mom there would be 5 people that would assist her. My mom answered any questions they had reguarding her cancer from treatment to location. Everything was fine till today, the day of her massage. The therapist proceeded to tell her that she would not be able to apply deep pressure which is understandable. My mom said lignt pressure would be just fine. If anyone who's had or has had someone with cancer any kind of relief is better than none. The therapist then began to go over another long excuse as to why my mom shouldn't be getting a massage. Not only was this therapist misinformed but she was the most unapologetic person she could of possibly been. She didn't say sorry once all she was worried about was "losing her license." If she was endanger of losing her license then why does this establiment have oncology forms to begin with? And why wasn't my mom told anything A WEEK AGO if she was such a liability. Not only was she embarrassed and humiliated, she wasted gas and time. We don't live close to that location, hence why she called a different one to begin with. People with cancer are not a liability. They are people who are going through a very traumatic change. They are fighting a battle that they may or may not win. And small pleasures like a massage make all the difference.
