The massage was supposed to be a full hour but ended around 4:50, so I definitely felt short-changed on time. For the price, that's disappointing. At checkout, there was a strong push to sign up for a membership -- it honestly felt more like a timeshare presentation than a relaxing spa experience. No bueno. I was given a gift card by my husband for my birthday. As this location is closest to my home, I booked here. I have now booked four appointments here (my own fault) and three have been rescheduled. One of these reschedulings took place as I entered the location for my appointment. Today, my appointment for next week was just canceled with no availability until a month from now. It's a shame because my massage experiences here have been wonderful. The frustration scheduling and rescheduling and wasting my time showing up for nothing are not worth it. As I can not get a refund to use at Hand and Stone instead, I will now have to travel to a further location to avoid this one. read more

My wife had been a client for years and was always satisfied with the services she received. Her therapist left about a year ago , and she has since utilized several therapists, who have cancelled repeatedly. She was billed for services never received, including $10.00 to transfer the paid-for massage to another client, and she did not know the individual. When I attempted to obtain a refund, the manager refused and was extremely rude. My wife cancelled her membership and will never again use that facility again. read more

Booked a One Hour basic facial. Got a bunch of up charges which I felt would help enhance the experience. The whole facial from start to finish was only 40 Minutes. It was not worth the money and it made me angry to get ripped off. I can't endorse this establishment. read more

Absolutely love Amelia and Lynn and sent my husband to get cupping done with Amelia and he absolutely loved it and has been going to her the last couple of months to help with his neck issues! read more

I went recently for a massage. The therapist was very good at massaging, but she would not stop talking and the conversation was inappropriate. She was comparing her divorce which happened years ago and seemed brutal, to the recent loss of my spouse. Saying that my kids weren't suffering like hers were since their dad didn't want to see them. I was there to relax and left feeling stressed and depressed I didn't know how to make her stop talking.. it was really frustrating. read more

I purchased a gift card and was provided inaccurate information. I was told the amount will cover the massage and gratuities. When the person actually booked their appointment they were overcharged on top of the gift card. When I tried to call and resolve the matter the employee was rude, did not allow me to speak to the manager and hung up the phone. Horrible service. Will never go back there. read more

Twice for me and several times for my mother who is a member - appointments were made and confirmed and day of, front desk shows no appointments booked!! Extremely dissatisfied. First and last experience with this location. I have been a member for over 6 years and never encountered this. I booked a couples massage for my and my boyfriend at Holmdel location. The day of my boyfriend gets a call to cancel because their therapist called out. I was told after the cancellation that they actually don't have a couples room like the other locations and had booked us as individual rooms so they were taking a sesssion away from me for them cancelling. I was never informed they didn't have a couples room. Spoke with manager who advised that this is their policy and they will not give me back the session I already paid for and if they did they would charge my card to pay their therapist. Staff incredibly unhelpful, only a few masseuses that are actually worth seeing (although the handful that are good are really good) horrible customer service. Increased membership rates, said we were notified via email... must have went to spam because I was unaware, and the decent thing to do would be to notify customers when they come into your location. No one who works here ever seems to know what's going on. Always issues with scheduling, therapists complaining that appointments were scheduled inappropriately and canceling last minute. The front desk staff constantly provided false information to me. Finally had enough and called to ask about canceling my membership and how to redeem my remaining sessions. I was told that the manager had to personally speak to me and then cancel it, and she would reach out to me. Never did. I called multiple times over the following 2 weeks and then was told my membership was already canceled, but I had 2 remaining sessions to use within 60 days. Booked my appointment, and then the day of was told the last representative misspoke and I had NO sessions to use, but no one could tell me why--they just disappeared. TERRIBLY RUN BUSINESS, shameful given the amount of money clients are charged for services here. read more

The staff here is as dumb as they are sneaky. I signed up for a membership in January, was told there was no initiation fee (new years promo) then saw an excess of $200 in charges on my card. When I called Massage Envy they had told me part of this was the initiation fee. I was told it would be refunded. It is now April and after much back and forth, has never been refunded. In early March I was told that medically I was unable to get massages so I called to cancel ALL my upcoming appointments and put my membership on hold. On April 8 I saw a $200 charge on my card which I called about and was told this is because I did not show up to my appointment (THAT I HAD CANCELLED.) The manager told me, mistakes happen which is why the associate never cancelled my appointment on the books, but that I still needed to be charged for my session per their policy. This is the second time I've been scummed over by them. Do not trust them with your credit card or your time. This has been a nightmare and I will never return back. I regret spending so much money and time here. read more

Nice little facility to get a massage. There is a small "spa" waiting area while you wait. My husband and I tried the discounted 1st timer massage, and they were very enjoyable. We got some heavy advertisements to sign up for the massage membership package, but we realized we do not get enough massages a year to warrant this $$$. We will go again for a random massage again though! read more

This place is the location that got me hooked on Massage Envy spas. I love the ambiance, the girls at the front desk are terrific, I have NEVER had a rude, discourteous, or pushy one answer the phone (and I certainly cannot say the same for other ME locations!!). They are also so accommodating when it comes to cancelling or switching appointments, I have done so numerous times and have never had a problem. And...oh yeah! The massages are great! Even though I live quite a ways away now, I make it a point to come here when visiting friends or doing business in the area...I can't reveal the name of my preferred masseuse, as she is often booked for weeks in advance, but her massages rival the (much) more expensive ones I have had at other salon/spa locations. I could not be more impressed with a place, its staff, and the type of ambiance they create for you. I never had a massage before going to massage envy. Each masseuse I've had has been great, but I am now stuck on Karen! She is just amazing! I also have had a facial and it was heaven! I felt so spoiled and pampered! I am now a member and love it. I look forward to this every month, but also if I want one sooner, it is a great price being a member that you can take advantage of. I can't say enough nice things about this place. I got a gift card from my husband for Christmas, and I was dying to use it. My mom and sister have memberships to ME, and they love it. As others have said, when I called to make the appt, the front desk person was super nice and actually matched me with a therapist based on the type of massage I wanted. When she chose one, and I said I was concerned his style might be too firm for my needs, she found me someone else and was happy to do it. When I arrived last night for my massage, I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet and clean the location is. Soft music plays in the background and the staff is beyond courteous. I've actually never been treated so well anywhere. Lindsy, the front desk person, was amazing. She kept telling me how excited she was for me to be getting a massage and how much I would love my therapist. She also didn't pressure me into getting a membership. She explained the benefits and the cost, and when I said I didn't have the money, she said she understood. I definitely plan to get a membership at some point in the future. My therapist Karen was fantastic. She was soft spoken but made sure to listen when I told her my expectations and what I was looking for. She made sure to understand my problem areas, and the areas I didn't want her to massage. She was extremely respectful and kind, and the massage itself was supremely relaxing. She was also very attentive to my minor medical issues. I sometimes suffer from vertigo during massages, so she made sure I had a wedge/roll to prop my head up. When she needed to move the wedge to massage my neck, she made sure to support my head with her other hand and told me I could just relax and not worry about holding my head up off the table. The room was on the dark side (which I don't mind - it facilitated the nap I took midway through the massage), the music was quiet and the room was a little chilly. I didn't mind that because with all of the heated blankets, the slight chill in the room was actually really refreshing and kept me from overheating. I wasn't expecting a "status report" after my massage - Karen had filled out a form that said what we did and where she felt my problem areas are... and what she would recommend for relief! I was so disenchanted with my other two experiences I considered revoking my membership. The front desk staff along with Michelle, my deep tissue masseuse, changed my mind. So very strong and caring and so very aware of each and every muscle that needs attention. Wish I could go every day! ! I visited Massage Envy because my son gave me a gift certificate. The entire process, from making the appointment, checking in, initial consultation, the massage, and paying, was stress free and professional. I expected a high pressure sales pitch. There was none. The receptionist was as excited as I was that I was able to get a massage. The therapist was lovely and sweet. She was able to relieve the pain in my neck, as well as finding other trouble spots I didn't even know I had. The entire place was immaculately clean.
