Can I just tell you that John is AMAZING! Yes, I said it! He is Awesome with a capital A! Who would have thought you can get a great massage at a chain massage establishment. I was skeptical at first. As I walked in I noticed the waiting room was busy, clean, maybe a little too sterile yet professional. If a zen waiting room is what you are looknig for then do not come here. Since it is a chain, I expected it to be a bit "corporate looking". And it was. If you go during the week, later in the evening, you will have a better chance at having some quiet time before your massage. The front desk personnel are young and seemingly don't really care about customer service. In fact one young lady hung up with a client on the phone and immediately began talking smack about her right in front of everyone! Not professional at all. If John wasn't there I would not go. He sets a relaxing tone, listens to your needs and gives just the right amount of pressure. He also makes sure to ask how you are doing and makes the necessary adjustments if needed. This was my first visit ( I had a gift card). I explained the services I wanted over the phone when I made the appointment. The manager selected Micheal, who turned out to be very professional and thorough and took care of all problem areas as requested. Because of the excellent service, I signed up for a 6 month membership immediately after the session and will utilize Micheal as scheduling permits. The reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars is because it is a bit of a drive from my residence, but well worth the travel. I am looking forward to my next visit. read more

I like this Massage Envy location. I've had my membership with them for almost 3 years now and this location is most consistently the best. I never have a problem getting an appointment with a good therapist if I call about a week in advance. I don't usually get the same therapist, but I make sure to specify what kind of massage I want - like deep tissue or sports massage if that's what I need. They seem to have a little less turnover in therapists than other locations. read more

I am only giving this location three stars though I really want to give the entire massage envy organization way less. I think it's ridiculous that you cannot change your membership anywhere but at the original massage envy that you signed up at. I no longer live anywhere near that location so it was a pain when I tried to freeze my membership due to health issues. Finally got it done but I had to fax in the particular form to the original location I had signed up at. It was a headache and a half. Add to that that I can't even cancel my membership because I have so many prepaid massages right now and there's no way I can use them all.... And massage envy won't refund me that money for those prepaid massages. It's highly frustrating. In addition, the turnover at both locations I've used has been insane. I would find a massage therapist I liked and begin to build a good relationship only to find out a month or two later they no longer work there. In spite of those complaints, I have been able to use one therapist at this location, Rosario. She doesn't speak much English, and I don't speak much Spanish so there's none of that awkward having to make small talk while you're trying to relax. But pointing and gesturing to areas that pain me seem to be effective. And her pressure is always perfect in the right areas that I have pain in. And the location is super convenient to my apartment. Getting an appointment is usually not difficult and parking is never an issue. read more

Really rude front desk at Massage Envy @ Meyerland. February 16, 2018 My wife and I canceled our membership with Massage Envy today. My wife made an appointment for me to get a massage with a particular therapist. After arrival they sent a different therapist to get me and when I told them I was supposed to have another therapist they said they informed my wife when she made the appointment that my desired therapist was not going to be available anytime this day. My wife would not have made the appointment if she had been told the therapist was not available. They said my wife was lying. I asked to speak with the manager and after they finally got him out of his office he said the problem was my fault or my wife's fault and I would be charged with the massage even though I did not get the massage. After asking him his name and not understanding it correctly he said that was obviously the problem because I could not hear well. He repeated his name was Duke. I was already upset about the confusion and now this person was making fun of me because I have a hearing problem. He even asked if my wife had the same hearing problem as I had. This should have been corrected by apologizing for making a mistake and assuring me I would not be charged if I did not want the massage with the new therapist. Instead now it is at impasse. This happened at the Message Envy at Meyerland. We canceled both memberships today. read more

I have been a member at this location for 2 1/2 years. Massage Envy was recommended by friends in Dallas who are members at a Dallas location. On the first visit, the staff provided information about the therapists and encouraged me to try various therapists to be sure I found the best one for me. I did (I had requested someone who did between moderate and deep tissue massages). Anna is an outstanding therapist. She has a incredible sense of touch - she can feel the knots and knows how sensitive (or not) they are without me saying anything. She concentrates on key areas and works on them so that I make progress at every visit. Even though she sees many clients each week, she remembers my trouble spots. She also offers suggestions for me to try between visits to maintain my progress. I tried several other therapists at this location while Anna was out on medical leave. They were good, but Anna has a unique ability. So when she returned, I went back to her. Even though it had been several months, she remembered my trouble areas and picked right up where she left off. The staff at the front desk has been professional and friendly to me on every visit. Bottom line - I think it's an outstanding value to consistently receive a first-rate massage for $39. read more

Really poor customer service - I stopped in this afternoon to see if I could schedule a massage. There was no one at the front desk, but there was someone in the office to the left who was on the phone. While I stood there for about 5 minutes she never looked up at me, or made any indication that she recognized I was there. I don't know how she could have missed me. The whole office wall was glass. My husband bought me a membership for Christmas. Every time I go I feel like I have just paid someone to rub lotion on my body. I do not feel any relief, the therapists talk the entire time and the "60-minute" massage is more like 35 minutes. You might as well go someplace and get a decent massage for a dollar per minute bc that is what they are charging for a less than satisfying back rub. After having had 4 lame massages, I emailed the regional manager that I was very frustrated and felt like I had wasted quite a bit of money. He informed me that they give great massages and that I can not get a refund as my reasoning for a refund was not one of their 3 acceptable cancellation reasons: death, doctors note, or moving more than 30 miles away from any massage envy location..... There was no, " oh I'm so sorry you have had a less than desirable experience with us, maybe we can set you up with a therapist that has top ratings and try and accommodate you".... I wasn't looking for anything crazy, just want to stop payment on services that I have not received yet or maybe some decent customer service...he was a complete jerk. DO NOT sign up for a membership here, id rather get a massage from the someone in the middle of the mall than massage envy. read more

DO NOT LEAVE JEWELRY OR OTHER VALUABLES IN THE ROOM AT MASSAGE ENVY. My appointment was from 2-3 at the Massage Envy in Clear Lake. Around 5, I realized I had left one of my favorite pairs of earrings on the shelf in the corner. Thinking that there would be no problem getting them back, I called immediately to ask them to hold them for me. The manager called the 2 clients after me, and both denied any knowledge of seeing the earrings. It REALLY upsets me that the earrings just magically disappeared. Massage Envy did not seem that bothered that this thievery occurred. Shame on me for forgetting my earrings, and trusting that an honest person would turn them in. read more

I was disappointed in my 30 minute stretch session as I have had better stretches from personal trainers. It looked nothing like their commercial on TV as the therapist, who was knowledgeable and caring, spent most of his time putting pressure on my muscles than stretching them. Plus it felt like the session didn't last the full half hour. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was comforting. I won't be going back. read more

I am a recent member and find the massages here less than satisfying. They are adequate, but in general I have not been impressed. I have had really great massages in the past and know what I am not getting. I guess you get what you pay for. In the future I will spend my money on a good massage. On top of having a less than stellar massage you get stuck with a one year contract that is next to impossible to get out of, even if you are moving to another state. Massage Envy Galleria is a perfect location for some pampering and de-stressing from everyday life. Not all massage therapists are great, even if you go to a 5 star hotel, so be sure to tell the staff exactly what you are looking for. I found them to be attentive and receptive, eager to please, always courteous, and very professional. I ask for deep tissue and found that Kim and Bryant are particularly good, although there are a few others that are also quite good. It's the best bang for your buck and allows you to indulge in more frequent therapy. I would recommend this location. read more

I called this location to book an appointment for my boss. I spoke with Chase who seemed to be all over the place. Against my better judgment I went a head and booked an appointment for a 90 minute massage. Chase asked had we been to that location before I said no. He booked me a 90 minute massage with a massage therapist named Raymar @ 6pm. The following day Sierra called to confirm the appointment for a 90 minute massage with Raymar. I politely told Sierra that Chase had no business answering the phone because he was all over the place and it seemed as if he had never booked an appointment before. Fast forward to today my boss arrives at the wrong location. I call Massage Envy 713-627-3689 to find out what was going on. The girl on the phone tells me "Oh we have two locations near the Galleria" Chase never offered the address when I booked the appointment and I never received a confirmation email confirming the time and location for his appointment. I explained to the young woman that my boss was going to be 12mins late because he went to the wrong location. She said that was fine, but the 12mins would be deducted from his 60 minute massage. I politely told her that I booked a 90 min massage with CHASE! She told me that the appointment was for 60 minutes and that if my boss didn't show up I would be charged a 100% for THEIR mistake. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the customer service or lack there of at this particular Massage Envy location. I have had my Massage Envy membership for 6 years and I wanted to introduce someone to Massage Envy who had never tried it before. Word of advice try a different location in Houston save yourself the headache. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT sign a contract with Massage Envy. If you do, you will find yourself in AUTOMATIC BILLING HELL, from which there is no escape. The contract self-renews until infinity and beyond, and NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU SEND THEM WRITTEN NOTIFICATION TO TERMINATE YOUR CONTRACT, AND NO MATTER NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU DISPUTE THE UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD, you will continue to be billed until the end of time. They use lots of sneaky little tricks too -- like notification has to be in writing, the contract allows them to continue to bill you for 30 days, notification has to be sent to the location you signed up at despite the fact that billing is processed from corporate headquarters, etc. This is the worst automatic billing scam I have ever encountered -- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I just got home from my rub down @ this place (west u area)and couldn't wait to wash off the grease, and well I won't be back. I've never wanted my hour to come so fast during a massage before, I don't see how people do it for an hour & a half............jeez. There was way too much noise, the sheets were sooooooo damn loud when touched, someone had popcorn smelling(I guess if you don't use scented oils or candles-who doesn't like the smell of popcorn,even during a massage) my therapist actually sat on a stool(not too much pressure-don't hurt youself)during the session, she had me hold certain bodyparts(I should'nt have to do anything-you're getting paid, or maybe they should have paid me for that hr), she hit my head by accident-but really? Hold up, I'm not done...........I agreed to the face massage or grease down and well at one point I couldn't breath for her holding my nose. I did take into account that she was a much older lady and her credintials are perhaps as such, so I tipped well-u get what you pay for. This was not good-really not what I expected, although I knew it was not a 5 star, but it really was a 1.5(I'm being nice). I've only visited 1 other spa on a few occasions(Sanctuary Spa on West Alabama)so maybe I expected way too much. I at least thought I could find some place that I could visit several times a week and get a little relief-NOT! I will be going back to my usual spot-cause they make me feel absolutly wonderful for days after. I'm hoping they'll work out some discounts for me, considering I've been given a substanial allowance to spend. Anyway, I won't tell anyone where to go, just know that it is good to give them a try before you agree to sign a membership, and shop around.....if you can. If I could give no stars I would .... now this review is mainly & only on the manager Denzel & the front desk receptionist he has been giving me the run around on a refund for weeks! I'm not sure if he's lying or really is trying to help me & my problem ... okay so I made an appointment for a $55 massage & when making the appointment Jamie the receptionist NEVER said that if the appointment was cancelled that I would have to pay half of the $55 it was completely a shock I cancelled at least 3 hrs before so when she said I had to pay half I didn't wanna make a big deal out of it but once I checked my bank account way more than $27 was taken out ! So I then called & spoke with Lavonte (front desk receptionist) told him my problem I was having so I asked speak with the manager.. supposedly Denzel wasn't there so Lavonte took my name & number & said that Denzel would give me a call once he was in ...... a full day has passed no call from the manager Denzel SO I called back & Denzel was there he told me they didn't have a problem with doing the refund it would just have to go through corporate & a lady from corporate would call the next day ... yeah another full day had passed & still no call so I called back & Denzel the "manager" is still giving me the run around about this refund .... so I took it upon myself to call corporate & they were confused & said they didn't hear anything from this store ..... it's August 3rd & I still don't have a refund from the massage envy galleria ... called today & Denzel says that he remembered the situation but since it was under someone else's name they couldn't find it ???? Yea this store is definitely giving me the run around & I would hate for this to happen to anyone else ... Very unprofessional & it's sad they can't help me with such a simple problem !
