It had been over a decade since I had pampered myself so I thought I would splurge and get a message. Since I was a new customer I got a promotional deal on a 60 minute massage. I was told that the time begins when you lay on the massage table. Before you go in for your massage there is a consult. I loved the attention to deal with the consultation. The woman who gave the massage was nice but her nails were long and thin and kept pinching/scratching my skin. I was too much of an introvert to say anything so I just tried ignore it...hard as it was. But the real slap in the face is that I paid for an hour long massage and she only did 35 minutes. I realized this once I got dressed a looked at my phone. I was planning on buying a yearly subscription but after being shorted almost 30 minutes and being scratched all the while... no way. Maybe it was this particular person who was lazy and didn't think I would notice but she definitely needs to trim her nails. I tipped her in cash even though she didn't deserve a penny of it... I didn't want to be rude. I definitely should have spoken up but I guess you live and learn. I think you should be able to review someone's profile before you are placed with them. read more

I don't understand what all the negative reviews are about. I just went here for my birthday using a gift card. My husband also got a first time massage here. I was prepared for a mediocre experience but it was all amazing. The front desk, Jae, the masseuse we had (Potter and Vanessa), the cleanliness, and timing were all wonderful. Annabelle helped me with the appointment and directing us to the type of massage style we liked. We couldn't be happier! My husband can finally move his neck, too! I asked the therapist and she said it's bc I arrived late (I arrived 15 mins early). I had a 60 min massage with Emely. The only thing that I regret is that I should have booked a 90 min. She was amazing!!!! I felt like a new person after. My thoughts were clear, my body felt light, all the tension in my shoulders were gone but the biggest surprise was the increase in my breastmilk supply. There are many reasons why I recommend to book with Emely but if you are nursing, you must book with her. Her calming energy and a deep knowledge of massage techniques were an excellent combination. It is rare that ME gets average of 4plus stars but I can see why this La Canada location has above average ratings. I used to be a member in another location about 15 years ago and I can't wait to finish my contract for I did not like its management (again not this location but another location). That was then...fast forward and I received a gift card for ME and decided to use it at this location. This ME is highly recommended. I love this location because of the following: 1. Clean and smelled great upon entry 2. Parking was a breeze 3. Front staff are super friendly and patient (thanks to Monica and Dakota, manager for helping me today and answering my endless questions) 4. Nice waiting area even with faux fireplace (good ambiance) and also clean reception area 5. Lastly, my massage therapist Eileen was recommended and she is superb! This review has nothing to do with the services provided, I've always had a great experience when it comes to a massage. This is about the customer service regarding this establishment. My husband had a membership here for years. We bought a house last year that we're renovating. We needed to cut unnecessary expenses so he reached out to cancel his membership. The front desk person sent him paperwork to sign and send back and he did that, yet they kept changing the monthly membership. So he called them and found out that they never submitted his cancellation form. They wouldn't credit us for the month even though it was their fault. Then they kept charging us after that. I had to lock the card the payment was on because of their incompetence. I guess this is how they do business and view this as a good business practice by forcing people to stay members when they have other financial responsibility. I'll never come back here again. Pretty shady way of doing business imo. read more

I've never written a review before. This is my first and sorry to say it's very negative. I'm Very upset even w day later. I was on the phone over an hour trying to book a massage only to find out they said my gift cards equating to about 189.00. Were expired. I told the receptionist gift cards don't expire in California. I decided to ask for a manager and she said she would notify her , since she's not on the premises. After an hour I called back n she still hadn't responded. Anyway, she said they gave my gift certificate to another client for me on 3-15. Upon checking the other person had the same problem n picked up her own gift certificate. I proceeded to tell them I wasn't happy about all this and wasted enough time and I would call the corporate office on Monday. The reception asked me not to. She called back n said she would put all the $$ amounts back on my cards. But it wasn't even the correct amount she offered me It's a good thing I saved them cause awhile I was told they were no good n thrash them. She said she couldn't issue me new cards when I offered to pick them up she said, no worries they'll be here when I book an appointment. I wasn't satisfied at all. I felt after all the hours n calls I should've gotten something for my inconvenience. I should've received compensation for the stress they caused me. I was hoping she would go longer for starting late but NOPE! I had requested high pressure massage to work out the knots on my back and shoulders. The massage was very soft and useless. I'm sitting here days after still with knots and back pain and feel very upset about my experience. This location has great parking, and when we arrived, we were already at ease! Check-in was very fast. My fiance already had an appointment, but upon arrival, I felt like getting a service too, and they were able to accommodate me within minutes! Then we were escorted to the waiting area, which was lovely, dim lighting, and relaxing. I was then called into the massage room, and I only removed what needed to be removed since I wanted to focus on my back, shoulders, and scalp. When I woke up, I felt so incredibly relaxed, and I wish I would have gotten a longer service! Check out was also very fast, and we just went about our day. I finally found an awesome masseuse again :D !! I came here yesterday evening and had a 60-minute massage by Eileen :) !! She is absolutely amazing :D !! And she really relieved the stress and tension in my neck, back, arms, and legs!! She also really tried to get to know me and my needs so that she could really focus on the areas that needed the most attention! She notified that my right arm was really tight compared to my left arm, and she asked if I did a lot of computer work with the mouse with my right hand. But overall, she noticed that my entire body was really tight, and suggested that I might want to do more stretching exercises on my own time, or come back for more regular massages to release that built-up tension. I felt so much better after she worked on me :D !! And I have to admit that I slept so well when I got home last night :) ! Prior to my massage session, I also found out from another customer in the waiting area that Eileen's mom, Dorothy, is also a masseuse at this Massage Envy location :) ! And she is also incredible and awesome in her technique :) !! The customer who I spoke to said that both Eileen and Dorothy are also trained in massaging patients with sciatic back issues! The customer had brought her own mom (who had sciatic back pain) to Dorothy on Thursday! And by the end of the massage session, the mom could walk again :D !! The customer herself came back yesterday evening for a massage session with Dorothy as well :) ! I haven't gone to Dorothy yet for a massage. But I heard that she is excellent :D !! I am already very impressed with her daughter, Eileen, who really knows how to loosen the knots very well all throughout my body, and who applies just the right pressure :) !! Today is June 24, 2025, and I had an appointment with Grace at 4:00 pm. I asked for a breast pillow when I didn't see one (I mentioned to the staff prior) and asked for starting the massage face down. She looked very unwilling. So then she wanted to start the massage from my ankle, and I asked to start from the shoulder, and then she said "It's my routine (start from the ankle), do you have problem with that?" I said yeah...(softly). She again was quite unwilling to start from the shoulder/back and she went several times on my right side of the shoulder/back, and I mentioned my left side needs massage too. Then, she stopped all together and said "you have problem with my massage, you are micromanaging me, I need to stop." And as I tried to explain it was a simple request, she cut me off, and eventually I said "stop". And she walked out of the room. When I reported this to the front desk, a woman said she would talk to her and gave me a free enhancement for my next visit with a different therapist. However, after I drove back home, I had a headache on my right side of head (I am prone to headaches, hence the need for massage). I was going there to relieve my stress and pain, now I ended up with a headache and needed to take Excedrin Migraine Relief. Grace is young and has a lot to grow. She needs to understand that her clients comes first, they have their needs which need to be met. They need massage not for fun or luxury. While she insists on her routine, I also have a routine I established with my former massage therapist Rachel who left Massage Envy. When my routine changes, I am stressed out. For now, I am staying away from Grace. And after you read my review, you can determine yourself whether you want to go with her or not. read more

I don't like to write reviews unless they are positive but im frustrated with this location. I feel like im wasting money being a member. My first massage was horrible and there was no follow up from a manager. I found a great therapist after that but she cut 10 minutes out of my last massage but I didn't complain (im aware 10 mins are taken out all sessions - 5 before and 5min after but 10 EXTRA minutes were taking out of my 90 min session). I booked a facial online today just to get a call and text that the slot is reserved for free consultations for their facial event. That time should not be available to book if its not available to clients it should be blocked off and scheduled as people reserve the time. Im starting to regret joining the membership because im not getting the service that I pay for. This is the closest location to me if I could cancel I would and go somewhere else but I have to finish my "term". read more

Massage Envy is the McDonalds of Massage salons. It isn't great but rarely bad. Staff is polite and helpful but generally very occupied in what is being displayed on their computer monitors. Masseuse's vary and again are generally good but rarely great or bad. Facilities are nice and clean and provide a relaxing environment. As a rule I generally book a 90 minute massage and arrive 10 minutes before my scheduled time. My massages have consistently started 10 minutes late and finish10 minutes early resulting in only a 70 minute massage. I have expressed this to the front desk and suggested they allow more time between bookings to get the room cleaned and ready for the next customer. I shared this with my wife and she indicated this happens to her too. Massage Envy has a nice product but needs to address this problem and provide the services that are promised. read more

Checking in was super easy and quick. The place was spotless, and everyone there was really friendly and welcoming. I got a customized facial, and it was amazing--the esthetician took her time and made sure everything fit what my skin needed. I left with my skin feeling refreshed and so soft. Nana spent 15 minutes demonstrating how she stretches to relive tension in her muscles. I didn't ask for examples on how to stretch. She wasted 15-20 minutes of my time. That 15-20 minutes could have been used as part of my massage session. At times the actual massage techniques she used hurt, and when I notified her of this, as she was massaging me, she said her technique was necessary to relieve muscles aches I experienced before the visit with her. It didn't help at all. I left a tip, however I probably should not have left any tip. I feel disadvantaged and very disappointed in my session with Nana. read more

Usually go to the Glendale location but every now and then I try this spot out. It is WAY nicer aesthetically than Glendale but that's pretty much where the positive comparisons end. It's like they spent all their money on making the place look nice and couldn't afford decent therapists. Been here maybe 2 or 3 times and it's always been lackluster massages. Went in today and probably got the worst massage of my life. Couldn't even tell you what the lady's name was because she didn't tell me. I must have 10 sessions accrued now because I can never get their app to work for booking and they never answer the phone. And while my account is supposedly 'on hold', I still get charged every month because I can't make a freaking appointment! Their masseuse are also not that great, I have one that I love but it is nearly impossible to get a booking because she is so popular. Tried a few facials too, those are ok. First, let me say that I love(d) this location a lot. Their facial services are top-notch, selection of skin care products robust, and the in-person experience is both relaxing and high quality. They even called me ahead of one of my appointments to warn me that they were repaving the parking lot so give some time for parking. Thoughtful and kind. So great. HOWEVER. Beware the subscription service. They sign you up and it's a pretty good deal, until you're ready to cancel. I called the location twice to cancel, per the instructions on the website. The girl who answered the phone the first time took the cancellation and thanked me for the call. Then I notice 5 months later, they're still charging me the monthly fee! So I call again, requested to cancel. "Sure, no problem," they tell me, update me on the credits I have accrued and how long I have to use them. Now, I just received a "collections" email 6 months after that asking for payment, and providing a discount for back membership fees. (Thank goodness my CC number changed, or I would have been paying this whole time!) Turns out, there's a FORM you have to sign? OKAY... that's not indicated anywhere on the website. Everything else is so great in the experience. Why make separating an annoying and frustrating process? Definitely some operational loops to close there. read more

Overall the massage was very nice. Andrea focused on knots in my neck and shoulders. She used her fingers, knuckles, forearm, and elbow to really dig deep. The only thing I didn't like was the massage ended way too early. I felt like I didn't get the full 60 min experience that I paid for! She carefully listened to what kind of activity and workout regimen I do and geared the massage towards what I was looking for which was recovery and flexibility. She mentioned part of her training was in sports therapy so I felt comfortable trusting her and she even taught me things I didn't know. I asked for a firm massage and she made sure to check every so often if the pressure was ok. This review is long overdue, as I've been seeing Jennifer regularly for massage therapy for more than 6 months. I was very nervous about receiving massage therapy at the height of the pandemic, but my doctor recommended I try it for pain relief due to high muscle tension in my neck and subsequent tension headaches. I needn't have worried, because this ME location had top-notch health protocols in place and were taking all the precautions. I felt very safe. The front desk staff have been friendly and amazing at every visit. Jennifer has given me an incredible, relaxing, custom massage every time I've seen her. After my first massage, she hit the nail on the head and asked me if I had been experiencing headaches due to the extreme tension she felt in my neck -- she's just really, really good at what she does. Every time I go in, I hardly even need to verbalize what my problem areas are -- she just picks up on them throughout my massage and adjusts accordingly. I've gotten a lot of pain relief out of my sessions with her, both in my neck and throughout my body due to my weightlifting program. ME sessions are definitely more expensive than other massage places in the LA area, but honestly worth every penny to me, and highly, highly recommend! read more

This particular Massage Envy Spa just opened today, June, 11, 2014. I had no idea this place was opening today as I was just walking through the shopping area on my way to TJ Maxx. They had some tables out front and a poster that showed you could get a one hour massage for $49.00. I have friends who have been happy with this particular company, so I thought I would just inquire as to whether I could just get the one massage and not get locked into a monthly membership and they said I could. I also asked if anyone had time to do a massage right then and there. First, the lady at the counter said they had a male massage therapist that was available and I said, "No, I would prefer a female massage therapist." They said that Caitlin was available which was good. I had to fill out a quick questionaire which made sense so they were made aware of any problem areas. I have a couple herniated disks in my neck so that was my main thing. Caitlin did a wonderful job working the kinks out of my neck which I've been ignoring for years. I just learned to live with it after so long. She said she could work on my whole body during the hour, but I felt my neck needed most of the attention. My neck feels pretty darn good right now which is great. At the end Caitlin did recommend that I come in again and have a 1 1/2 massage so she would have time to work on other areas in addition to my neck. I'm a mom on a budget so I told her every two weeks is not in my budget. I will go back in a few months if I feel the need and I was just glad I didn't have to commit to anything up front. read more

While I LOVE everyone who works there sincerely!!! Love the interior design and it is 1000% always clean. Service and products are 5+ stars. Why the 2 rating - As a member, when I pay for an hour treatment per advertisement, I expect a full end to end hour treatment. NOT 45 to 50 minutes end to end. I have been a member more than 3 yrs and those 10-15 minutes are a considerable number of hours stolen and not aligned with the 1 hour advertisement. The team who work there are the only reason I gave a two and keep the membership because they are phenomenal. If I rated it based on the fraudulent advertisements of one hour service I would give a negative 10. read more
