We just paid them $210 and left a $20 tip in cash. After handing the guy the money he asked if the $20 was for both and laughed about it. During my massage they also made fun of my wife and I for having ashy feet whilst also showing off a gold ring I was wearing on my pinky to the other two people over there (one was massaging my wife's back and the woman was massaging my wife's feet which was a useless massage by the way). My wife almost snatched the $20 back and told them no tip then since you're ungrateful but we just left.y back massage was pretty decent though just extremely hard. My wife ended up switching her body massage from 90 mins to 60 mins plus the 30 mins useless feet massage. Mine was 90 mins body 30 mins feet massage. Won't be returning as the tip thing, laughing at our ashiness and showing off my jewelry are not professional. The overall cost we paid was pretty good as we normally pay close to $500 for the both of us at a local place owned and operated by our chiropractor (110 mins full body massage plus full body adjustment). I am their regular customer and always give tip, so wasn't aware how they behave if you don't leave a it. I asked for a 20 min $25 massage. The lady there (for the first time) started to give me the massage which was very light. Within 5 min, I asked her to press stronger. But she continued the same feather massage. At 10 min, I asked to stop because the massage was useless. She asked if I needed a man. I said yes and she called a man from outside (they have a crew within the mall for chair massages). The guy gave me good massage so I asked him to make it a 30 min massage but he didn't want to and told me "next time". That was weird. When I paid $25, he DEMANDED tip. I told him that I am not giving tip because my first 10 min was not really a massage and I still paid the full money. But he was adamant as if I didn't pay. First of all, they have the audacity to demand a tip and secondly, they should have given me a discount or cover for my time lost, which they didn't. Years ago I asked a retiring general surgeon where he gets his massages and he said he gets it from some Asian guys at the mall. I thought that was kind of weird but I decided to try it last week. Let me tell you, if you're short on time and want a no frills directed massage you should come here. They place a paper towel on their little kneeling chairs and they get to work after setting a timer. I don't really like anyone touching my legs so I always felt like it was a waste of time getting a full body massage. Asking them to focus on the neck and back for an hour also felt like it was a bit too much. M It's super convenient - never have to make an appointment. It is deep pressure, which I appreciate but they will adjust based on your comfort level. I come at least monthly and this is my first stop after a long flight. I just wanted to leave a review for the Oriental Chi located in the Glendale Galleria mall. I read some reviews before coming here, and they were not so favorable. I did read that everyone seemed to comment that a man named "Chen" was really good. I needed to pick up a few things at the mall, so figured I'd give Oriental Chi a try. As I found their location in the mall, I looked at their pricing list posted outside their door. The place was empty at 1:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Just then, an Asian man walked by and asked if I wanted to come in. I asked, "Are you Chen?" and he smiled. I don't really know if he was "The" Chen or not, but I was happy to give the place a try. Upon walking in, the place looked clean and tidy. The therapist asked me if I wanted chair or table massage, and if I wanted feet or body. I replied that I wanted table massage, and motioned with my hands that I wanted mostly shoulders and back, and a little bit of feet. He asked how many minutes and I said I wanted 60 minutes. (I really wanted 90 minutes, but I didn't have time for that during this visit.) He asked, "Thirty minutes feet and 30 minutes body?" While it's not listed on their pricing sheet located outside their shop, nor at the check-out stand, I asked if he could do 40 minutes body and 20 minutes feet. He nodded yes. I love a foot massage, but it's my shoulders and back that needed some work. I was given a bin to put my things in - I put down my purse, my jacket on top of the purse, and my glasses on top of the jacket. Just then, a woman therapist comes over and I was worried. I thought she was going to be the one giving me a massage. I had wanted "The Chen." Turns out, they were going to do what they called "Four Hands" which is their "Double Service" where 2 therapists work at the same time. The man started my massage working on my neck and shoulders. About 10 minutes later, the woman comes over and takes off my socks and begins working on my feet. So at that point, the man and the woman are both working on me. I've never been to a place where 2 therapists are working at the same time - it actually felt really good. Twenty minutes later, the woman was done with my feet and the man continued for another 30 minutes - working on my hamstrings, calves, arms, hands and more on the shoulders and upper and lower back. (So in total, I was on the table for 40 minutes for the "60 minutes worth of massage" time - 40 minutes with the man and 20 minutes with the woman.) The foot massage from the woman was good. The man used pretty intense deep tissue strength to massage everywhere else which is exactly how I like it. I did not need to ask him to adjust pressure at any time. It was perfect. While the place was empty when I first went in, over the course of time, at least 6 other customers came in during these 40 minutes. About half were chair-massage customers, and half table-massage customers. For air circulation, I like that they leave their front doors propped open, however, you can hear the hustle and bustle of shoppers in the mall. While you're getting a massage this outside noise changes the ambience and it is a little bit less relaxing. But the service overall, is great. Today is Wednesday, and I'm still thinking about that massage I had there on Sunday. It was sooooo good. For pricing, I think $60 for 60 minutes is a steal. To compensate for their low fees, I feel a generous tip is warranted, especially if the service is good. At least this time, the service was exceptional. I had a 20 minutes chair massage with a man that called himself Dock. I had not planned on getting a massage but when I saw the prices I handed my purse to my husband and reached for a while. Dock was certainly skilled. I've had issues on my left side for at least six months. I didn't tell him this. He focused on several spots in my neck and between my shoulders on the left side. I had huge knots that could probably get worked on for days. He used a good anoint of pressure and I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow. I prefer a strong massage so I was glad he dug in and worked them down. He even rubbed my arms and hands which were clearly suffering from the knots. I was just jelly like when he was done. Dock got a hefty tip for being so awesome. Please note that there is a massage chair setup in the middle of the mall near Wetzels Pretzels. This is NOt the place I went to. There people are at the end of a corridor near the security offices. Not easy to find unless you are strolling the mall. read more

Good location at the Galleria Mall, 2nd floor close to Target. Would love to see this business succeed. Need Massage Techs that can speak and understand basic questions and answers. Ask your clients where it hurts. When the request is for a relaxing massage, be sure to alternate between deep massage and something that feels good for the client. Don't just focus on the spine area...need to have a better routine. (This seems to be a recurring comment from other posts that I've seen. Hope someone that can make a change takes note of this!) Need to focus more on the client and their needs. Please don't sanitize the station while your client is still there. We don't appreciate getting sprayed with the sanitizer. No sniffles allowed (from techs and clients) especially during this time of year when things spread quickly (that's all I have to say...hope you understand this.) Lastly, after a 1 hour deep tissue massage (which was supposed to be a relaxing massage!), I was dizzy walking out of the place and would have appreciated being able to have some water and to sit for 5 minutes like some other places. I'll be sure to watch for other reviews before coming back. (If Chen is still around, he may need to train others on how he does things since it seems he's everyone's fave.) It started with an annoying crook in my neck and in a few days turned into horrible upper back and shoulder spasms. I remember seeing these guys doing chair massages at Glendale Galleria and made a trip. I couldn't handle another sleepless night. As I approached their kiosk (across from JC Penny), one of the gentlemen made eye contact and pointed at me - he knew I was in need of what they offered. I'm sure the pain and angst was written all over my face. They are very efficient. Within seconds I took off my jacket, outer shirt and put my mobile phone, air pods and car keys in the basket. I explained how everything had locked up and I needed them to unlock me. The gentleman smiled and said he knows exactly what I needed. They set the timer for 30 min and I placed my face in the massage chair and got worked over. While it was painful as shit (he was mostly using his elbows), I could tell he was finding all the spots that were completely knotted up and when he found them, he would work them until they were smashed into oblivion. Yes, there were moments when I wanted to cry out in agony, but I just manned up and took it. The only grunts were from the reflexologist because he really put in the work. 30 min felt like 15 and I was on my way. I feel like someone punched me a hundred times all over my shoulders and back, but, the spasms are gone and for the first time in a week, my shoulders and upper back are finally loose. Best Chair Massage in the Valley area if you like DEEP PRESSURE I drove from Culver City here after work as i used to love going to the Chair Massage spot in the Burbank Town Center 10 years back. After seeing others review of this place i decided to take the 60 minute drive out of the way to Glendale Galleria and see if this place was really all its cracked up to be. With pricing a bit greater then some of these other table spots at $45 for 45 mins and i asked and took the $60 for 60 minutes instead, I wanted to see if the pressure and quality was there. With a chair massage I don't have to worry about these spots with bedbugs, smoker massage people and other issues that have arisen since my last few places tried. I must say overall I had one of the women here thinking oh man, its going to be low pressure etc and man was i completely wrong. She gave me hard pressure then asked me if the pressure was good and i said you can go harder and she did. Man do i regret it so some degree, She really worked my shoulders to the deepest parts possible. After the hour the massage was so deep i could feel my back all the way home on the drive and i can still feel the deep tissue in my back and shoulders today almost 18 hours later. Needless to say you get what you pay for. Next time I won't ask for deep pressure lol. Overall I got my money's worth and completely tuned out the mall commerce noise here. I STRONGLY recommend this spot if you really like DEEP PRESSURE and want to literally get beat up. They worked me over pretty good, found a number of 'knots' I didn't even know were there. Very strong hands and elbows, hurt so good as a deep massage should. I've just had a 15 minute massage by Chen. I've had a lot tension on my neck, shoulders and back for quite a while now and finally made the time to do this. Chen used just the right amount of pressure to really work out all the knots and hard muscles without causing much discomfort. I didn't think that one 15 minute session would make a big difference since I've had these problems for so long. I thought at least a few more sessions before I can really feel an improvement.
