Five star to TONY for my amazing first experience here at Spa Pura for a facial~ She had a very kind demeanor and was very gentle on my face and informative about the products. She was so specific with her application of the cleansers, and creams etc that I realize I need to tone down the way I treat my own face by aggressively taking off my make up and cleansing and hopefully, helps keep my skin amazing. My skin feels super clean, and has been glowing all day! Ill definitely be back monthly for a facial here. I dont think Ill be a monthly member however (even if I have to pay more for certain up grades like green light or diamond facial) as the spa itself needs a facelift and does not give off 'high end spa' vibes. I've been coming here to this spa way before the pandemic with my family. We love it here because it's always clean, the ladies in the front reception: Daniella, Crystal and Emily amongst others are all friendly, always with a smile when you walk in and out, always ensure your concerns are heard and taken care of and very understanding and supportive to each person's needs. The massage with some masseuse has been 10+ rating. I love it so much that I became a monthly member so I can enjoy my monthly service of self care. There were cracks everywhere, a fly floating in the jacuzzi, little to no towels, etc. The masseuse was honestly short with me and kinda rude when I told her my preference in the beginning of the session. Lilit never lets me down. I've been going to her regularly. She's highly experienced and you can tell from the techniques she uses. She puts her soul into her work and that only means that she loves what she does. The products that the spa itself uses are high quality too from the ones that I have used that's my observation. I'd give 3.5 stars but I rounded up because my service was good. I received a prenatal massage here today and I would say the price was reasonable compared to other places. I liked the way the lighting changed between rooms for a more dark relaxing experience and into the light bright skylit room pre and post massage. The tea and fruit are a nice touch. My issues with this place are simple: 1. Answer your phone and don't keep people on hold for 15 minutes. You were not busy when I arrived so that wait time is unacceptable. There are 2-3 people working at the front with fewer customers. Make it make sense. 2. The spa facilities are small and not really comparable to other spas so not competitive. The showers could've been cleaner. I liked the membership price but given the two items noted above I'm not sure I'd have an easy time making an appointment for services and would be overpaying for something I couldn't get booked for rather than just going elsewhere like Descanso Spa. read more

I mistakenly picked Spa Pura for a birthday outing. I remembered an LA Times feature listing several day spas around the city, and in particular, a great review for one in Montrose. I turned to Yelp to find day spas in Montrose not remembering its name, amd up popped Spa Pura. I booked their massage and facial special. I chose the Swedish of the two massages offered as a Special promotion. The other was the too aggressive-for-me Thai massage. I was assigned a masseuse named Ilene who really knew her stuff. She made sure I was comfortable on the massage table and aligned my body when I didn't realize I was lying at an angle. Once corrected and settled, she asked what level of strength I'd prefer her to use. I had lower back surgery 18 months ago, I told her to start moderately, and apply more pressure until it got too intense, and I'd let her know. She did exactly that, and it felt great! Strong but sensitive, she systematically found layers of muscles between layers of muscles that I didn't realize were jacked up, and kneaded the knots out of my upper back and shoulders. She continued onto my lower back and there was no sensitivity when she massaged where my surgery had been done. Ilene was neither chatty or silent, and conversation flowed when necessary. My body really needed the release and I was happy to just surrender and enjoy it. The esthetician assigned to me for my facial was Tony, who gave me a wonderful experience. With creams, facial massage, steam, extractions, hot cloth wipes between the steps, my face was in heaven. I should have made note of a couple of places I could have used extractions that she didn't get to or see, but overall, it was a wonderful experience and Tony was good company. The spa itself is funky. We paused at the back stairway leading into the spa from the parking lot. It was dirty and untended. The back door's glass was also dirty and smudged with fingerprints that looked like they'd been there for weeks, which did not bode well for the physical space. We arrived in the lobby, a narrow hallway with the requisite low lighting and Asian décor. A couple of young women were at the desk to greet us, but one did all the talking. Her response to every exchange seemed to be "Perfect." The dressing room was not perfect. Small and cramped with two or three U-shaped alcoves of lockers, and one 'pouf' to sit on, presumably to be shared by everyone who happened to be at their locker at the same time. So be prepared to put on your pants or undies standing up. In my case there were 3 of us, and a couple more at a mirrored vanity. Everyone was cordial and polite and we took turns sitting. The steam bath, sauna and whirlpool were all jammed into the same space. A little claustrophobic. The massage and facial rooms were elsewhere. It's a warren of spaces, not built, but adapted for, a spa. The practitioners were 5-star, the staff about 4.2, and the space a 2.9 as they are a bit run-down and sad. Ample parking. Other patrons were friendly. read more

I drove in after work, paid for meter parking and realized when I got home that the product they sold me expired 6 months ago. I called in and the girl on the phone chuckled when I told her the SPF they sold me has been expired since March 2025. She checked their shelves and she did find one that wasn't expired. Originally I did say I was going to swap out the products but after thinking about it, I purchased directly from the supplier. I had to drive into their shop again, pay for parking again and was able to get a refund. No apologizes from the manager who processed my refund. It was as if I was doing a normal return. I went to Spa Pura for my first time and was excited that it's local for me and I don't have to trek to K town for a Korean body scrub. Pluses: * Kelly did a great job with the scrub and was kind and made sure I was comfortable. She did an awesome job doing a little bit of massage while doing the body cleanse and shampoo. Impressed with her strength and efficiency! * The receptionists were all kind. * love that there is easy parking as there's a 3 hour free lot behind the spa and you can enter from that side. * local for those closer to Glendale area. * from what I can see they carry good products and have more space for massage and facials though I didn't do those services. Concerns: *uncleanliness of the spa facilities. Extremely dirty :( so could not relax. The hot tub and floor of the entire wet spa area has mildew, scum and/or mold, hair, gunk especially between the tiles and on the bottom of the doors that go to the shower, steam room, restroom and on some of the furniture that gets moisture to hold towels. Overall it doesn't seem sanitary which is the opposite of what we're seeking when going to a spa we'll be unclothed in. It's not the YMCA. *Sink area, lockers, all floors overall don't appear clean either including the back entrance stairs. *no upkeep of the space: Basics like the clocks being the wrong time, the "pull" sticker peeling off also need to be fixed. The co-ed quiet area was ok but with white seating some of it was graying and looked dirty. * though I like that it's small and chill it did get difficult to change and share the locker area with just 3 of us. read more

Honestly? I've been having my massages here for over 15 years... Although I now live 65+ miles away,, I still go for a monthly massage. I have a membership and for $109 a month I have my choice of a 90 minute service. As I said, I've been here for over 15 years and my regular masseuse is Amy, there is no one better. She knows Exactly what I need; she has just the right touch (which varies depending on how tight my muscles are)... Amy is a gem., as are most of the rest of the staff. The Ju sisters are wonderful as well and very caring & accommodating. I stopped having Korean body scrubs, but the woman who was giving them is now gone (she didn't care if she hurt me or not & refused to speak English, or even respond to my Korean).... There is someone new & younger now, ,so we'll see how that works out. As long as i am able I will continue to visit Spa Pura on a monthly basis for a massage read more

This place is honestly very mediocre The problem is that they are trying to front as if it's a fancy spa but they don't have the facilities nor staff to be good enough. The spa facilities itself are quite tiny and then it surprisingly has a huge waiting room and multiple stories w private rooms for treatments. I got a deep tissue massage and I do feel bad complaining about this bc it is not the fault of the masseuse that she is petite but somehow it never dawned on me that a massage from a small petite lady w very wire-y fingers would be so uncomfortable. In order to compensate she used her elbow and I just felt as if she was jabbing her elbow into me the entire time. And on top of this when she did use her hands, her hands were ice cold!!! The facial I received also felt incredibly elementary and basic. For these services go elsewhere, complete waste of money. And the locker area is so small that even w 1-2 other people changing, u cannot comfortably use the space. I had to wait for the other ladies to finish up before I could change to leave. Better off either going to a cheaper massage place or going to a legit place. The worst is trying to be of a certain caliber but just not having the goods. 3 stars because staff was friendly read more
