My birthday was earlier this month & the hubs bought me three massages from Massage Envy for my birthday. Today, I got my first massage & it was amazing. First, you walk in & are greeted in a warm, quiet atmosphere. While you wait for your masseuse you are taken again to a very quiet, relaxing room. Your masseuse takes you back to your massage room & goes over what is troubling you the most & how much pressure do you need/want for your massage. My masseuse was Octavio & he was GREAT! I honestly started to drool after a while. He really worked on the places I needed my massage the most & was nothing but professional the entire time. When I go back for my 2nd massage, I am DEFINITELY asking for him. I've been to other places where the masseuse wants to chat & talk & I was so happy this didn't happen here. I literally just walked in the door after my massage at the Morgan Hill location. I'll start with the fact that I haven't been going very often and was in major need of some relief from painful back spasms. I totally forgot about my appointment today but Katrina called me shortly after my appointment time and said I could still come in! My therapist was Richard and if I'm being 100 percent, it was the BEST massage I've ever had at Massage Envy. Probably the best I've had in years! I have always enjoyed by massages but it wasn't something I raved about. Richard got everything just right and by the time I left I was looking forward to my next visit. I've been a member for almost 20 years, so my rate is too good to let go (even though it did increase with my recent move to CA from TX). I hadn't been using my credits and considered canceling my membership. Now, as long as Katrina, Richard, and others like them are part of the experience, I'll be coming in on a VERY regular basis! I'm not usually one to write reviews but I am so happy and grateful for my experience that I felt the need to hop on here! I had no issues booking my appointment, when I arrived I asked the front desk person, Desiree, about the products they had for lips- she was knowledgeable about the products and also informed me that I could add a lip treatment as an add on to my facial! I was sold! I received a facial from Claudia- and let me tell you... IT WAS AMAZING! I am pregnant and have some strange things happening with my skin, but Claudia was patient and knowledgeable, and she offered me some helpful suggestions. Everything felt soooo good. She was incredibly professional, and really kind. Massage Envy is a chain, but today I received customized individual treatment from people who were friendly, and did not make me feel like I was in a franchise at all! Completely unethical business! DON'T give them your credit card!! I cancelled my membership and stopped going. They didn't charge my card for several months then one day they started charging my credit card WITHOUT my approval and WITHOUT notifying me. I caught it on my credit card statement after a few months. I called the manager who initially sent me on a wild goose chase with their corporate offices who informed me they had no liability as those decisions were made by the local franchisee. I called the manager back who basically said "tough sh*t," I signed an agreement that allowed them to do that, and "it wasn't her job to babysit customers". This was my first time getting a massage. I had a gift card to go here and I finally went. I added essential oil and I'm so glad! It smelled like citrus. The lady that did my massage was incredible. She had a very soothing voice and I really connected with her. They play serene beach music and the lights are dimmed. The bench is INCREDIBLE. You go under the covers and it feels heated!! HEATED!! It really is incredible haha. I loved getting this massage and hated leaving. I am sore today but she worked on so many problem areas and manipulated a lot of muscles. I have always wanted to get a professional massage, but could never justify the cost. The last few years of my life have come with increasing stress and anxiety for a variety of reasons. Most recently, I suffered a tremendous loss, and that has resulted in a whole new level of severe stress and anxiety, which has taken its toll on a thoracic spine sports injury that I suffered while in college. Massage Envy opened here in Morgan Hill, and my mom mentioned that they had a $39.00 promotion for first-time visitors. The painful muscle spasms in my neck and upper back drove me to check it out. I'm very glad that I did. The place itself is very nice and clean, but it's basically a large-scale no-frills operation. Water and tea bags are available, but nothing fancy. Changing takes place in the massage room itself. Joel did my massage, and he was great. His massive hands were warm, and the covered my entire back. He went very deep, but I don't think I communicated effectively about the location of my most painful areas. I'd definitely go back to Joel -- he doesn't hold back on applying extreme pressure, which I love -- but I'll be more outspoken next time about where I'd like the focus to be. The massage did not last a full hour. It was more like 45 minutes, but it was 45 minutes of good deep tissue work, so I am not going to complain about the last 15 minutes. I decided to stray away from my usual masseuse at La Belle and was pleased to find a more affordable masseuse. carlos gives therapeutic massage very well. He explains what he its doing and why. Carlos constantly asks for your input and is checking in on comfort level. Althoughmy massage was a but painful, it was a hurts so good kind of painful. I can't wait to go back next month, I'm going to have to add fifteen more minutes. Well today I finally tried due to an urgent need to address a painful and tense shoulder due to stress. Heather at the front desk was polite and professional who took down my information and lead me to the quiet waiting room where I can relax. My massage therapist was Nathan. When he greeted me I was surprised how young he was and was wondering how my experience would be today. But I was blown away by Nathan's attentiveness, skills to feel out knots and apply just the right pressure. Nathan also taught me a stretch and quick fix at home that I could try and made me practice right there to make sure my posture is correct. No other massage therapist I had before cared enough to share their knowledge and educate me. I signed up to be a member immediately afterwards and booked a 90-minute appointment with Nathan the following week. Goodbye Burke Williams you'll never get my business again. read more

I called to book a prenatal massage. I asked for a therapist that was well versed in that area. The receptionist recommended someone and I asked "how many years have they done it." The answer I got was "oh years..." so I asked "can you tell me exactly how many years?" She said "oh Years. We've been open a while and she's been with us for a while." Uhhhhh ok! So this review will start out negative, but I swear it gets better. I had received a printed gift certificate for Mother's Day a few years ago. I've moved since then and I obviously have NO IDEA where it went. I called the MH location and spoke with someone who was fairly new, she was nice, but I was pretty much told you have to find the certificate, they directed me to contact corporate. I'm not sure if anyone has tried to call corporate for massage envy, if not, DON'T. There's no point. No phone number or email. Anyways, I called them again, no luck the second time either. So finally I contacted the San Jose locations and spoke with a Kylie. She was so helpful and nice, she said that doesn't sound right to me, and even though she was leaving for day she said she would follow up with me the next day. I figured no way it would happen. Well it did, she followed up, she helped me figure it out, and all of this for a location I wasn't even visiting. I figured I would go to the MH location and if I didn't like it I would just start using the San Jose location. This is where it gets better. The MH location was very nice and helpful in day of appointment. Janelle, the manager, or front supervisor, was aware of the issue and made sure she was on top of it. She was very nice, which I appreciated since ima ire I was a topic of conversation at some point. She got me all set up and put me in the quiet room. I then got the best facial with Kathleen, OMG! She's amazing. She was super nice, easy going, nice to talk to, knowledgeable about facial aesthetics, I just adored her. I only wish she had more opening . I sent my husband to get a massage for Valentines Day. David did a great job and gave my husband a thorough and therapeutic massage. He offered my husband stretching advice and recommended he come back for regular sessions. All employees were very friendly from beginning to start. I walked in to wait for my husband at the end and the counter girl was very sweet and asked if I needed help with products since I was scanning their inventory. The esthetician walked out after a session and approached me as well. The manager should be proud. All staff were actively selling in the best way. Solid experience. Unfortunately one of the worst ME locations that I have visited. Avoid if you can and try out the San Jose locations if you already have a membership. See below for some of the 'run of the mill' incidents that I have encountered - it echoes most of the reviews that others have posted. It's unfortunate to write this review as there are a few great therapists at this location but it isn't worth the trouble of scheduling and dealing with the front desk staff. It's more time efficient to drive up to San Jose when all these factors are considered. 1) Lack of therapists and appointment availability. - Therapists have told me that they are leaving this location due to poor management and scheduling. I have called multiple times and the earliest massages available are 1+ month out (sometimes even 2). Why have a 'monthly' membership fee if you can't use it? 2) Inept front desk staff. - I have shown up for a 90 minute massage and much to my surprise have been told it's only 60 minutes. - Despite saying I would prefer a male therapist - I get riddled off a list of names that are female. - My account had to be 're-created' and my credit card information 'lost' (even though it's on auto-pay). Now when checking out there is constant confusion on which 'record' to use. - I was called to confirm an appointment that I had not made. After digging in it seems like the front desk staff scheduled it under the wrong customer profile. I easily could have shown up, taken this persons appointment, and charged it to their card (!!!!!) Crazy! - My appointments have been cancelled (booked ~1 month out) with little notice. When trying to reschedule they don't have any availability for at least another month... 3) No online scheduling - Every other location in the Bay Area offers this. I'm not sure if the front desk staff is anti-online scheduling for job security - but it sure seems like it would eliminate a lot of the issues stated above. I don't like to write bad reviews but if anyone is considering visiting this location - don't. Management you NEED to take these reviews into consideration. I understand a handful of bad reviews but this page is the same story on repeat. From what I can tell you are losing both customers and therapists so it's time to make a change otherwise I'm not sure how this business can sustain itself. read more

I used to only get facials at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, because it was the only place I found that performed the facial that really satisfied me. Either there or on Celebrity Cruise's Canyon Ranch Spa whenever I'd go on a cruise vacation. This all changed when I tried out Morgan Hill this year and was recommended for a 60-minute session facial here with Kathleen ("Kitty"). She's so professional and her demeanor is so calming. I couldn't stop raving how good her facial was with my relatives and that they should book her for a session too! I've been back about four times since, always 90 minutes every session, and I am beaming in happiness and my face feeling rejuvenated and clean because of her. I decided to go with Massage Envy because I figured it would be more affordable than a local spa. I paid $49 for a new member first-time deal. I received a massage by Joel and normally I'm anti-men giving me a massage but he was very professional and the massage was wonderful. When I paid I found out it's $98 for a one-hour massage in the future, I knew that despite the great rubdown, I wouldn't be back, based on price alone (I usually pay $65 in town for a one hour Swedish). I was really close to cancelling my Massage Envy membership, just to save some money because it felt like a splurge, and all the really good therapists were rarely available on the days/times that I could come in for an appointment. I had some therapists that were so-so, some that were good but too chatty, and others whom I cannot even remember. Until one day.... I was making my final appointment before cancelling, and told them to give me anyone. The therapist Jeanie, a true artist of her craft, was THE best massage I have ever had. Out of curiousity if it was just a fluke, or perhaps I was just in such need of a massage that anyone would have been good, I let my membership extend another month and got her again....same incredible massage. Perfect blend of firmness and relaxation, she says not one word (she's very nice but we all know that we'd rather not talk or have to listen during a massage), and leaves you drueling and wanting an extra hour or two! I am at Massage Envy stil, 4 months later and 4 Jeanie massages later, and I look forward to seeing those automatic debits because I know I'm even closer to my next Jeanie massage!! I want to keep her a secret so I can book the best days/times, but I also want Massage Envy to know that if she ever goes elsewhere, I will follow. Massage Envy in Morgan Hill is very clean and professional. I have been a client of Massage Envy and have been going to the Morgan Hill location recently for the six months. My job is physical and I work more than 70 hours a week so I get the chronic stiff shoulders/back. I requested a deep tissue massage and the front desk staff referred me to Donna. I had my first massage with Donna who was very professional and had a clipboard with her. She asked me where I needed the deep tissue massage. She noted my answers and ever since then, I've been seeing her and she knows what I need. By far Donna is the best massage therapist I've ever seen. She is very pleasant and knows exactly how much pressure to put on each area. She is a licensed therapist who knows what she is doing. I only see Donna and there is a reason why she is fully booked at times. Even if there are openings with other massage therapists for the date I am open, I will wait for Donna's open availability and work around her schedule. Trust me the quality is by far worth the wait. Massage Envy has very private single rooms, which are very clean, quiet and always at the correct temperature. Thank you Massage Envy and Donna for making me feel better every month! read more

While I feel sorry for any individual or company dealing with COVID these days, this location just can't seem to get its act together to communicate with its customers. They never bothered to send out an email to alert customers that they were back open in January. So several months were wasted, waiting for them to open. And then last month, I went for my appointment and the doors were locked and there was a sign on the door stating that they were closed for 3 days because of a COVID event. Again, no attempt to reach out to customers either via email or phone. And yet, they knew I had an appointment and my contact information. They just let me waste my time driving there, when they knew full well they weren't open. read more

I just had my second massage at Massage Envy last night and I'm obsessed. I've always had really bad knots in my back and pain in my legs and shoulders due to being a waitress and a hairstylist. Meghan is amazing! She does an excellent job and she is really professional. I never once felt uncomfortable. I had never gotten a massage in my life before going to her and she changed my life. My back instantly felt better after my first visit. I had her focus mainly on my back the first time and then a full body with a little extra attention on my back again the second time. I like medium to deep pressure and she gets in there. I absolutely recommend massage envy if you are planning on getting a massage once a month. I signed up for the membership and at first I was kind of bummed that you only get one massage a month for $60. But it's better than paying $100 a month so to me it's worth it. You can pay an extra $50 to get another massage during the month. I haven't tried the facials yet but I will soon! read more

I went to Massage Envy at 1:20pm on a Tuesday June 21,2021 and they are closed. It says their hours are 1 pm to 8 pm on Tuesdays. An employee was waiting outside to get in. She said her manager usually arrives at 1:30pm. I said but your hours say 1 pm. She just shrugged. I waited until after 1:30 pm and no manager. This branch is very disorganized with distracted workers. They lose appointments and customer service is awful. In February I had a very bad case of vertigo so I could not drive. I called and cancelled the appointment. When I did go in for a massage they charged me 28 dollars for a "no show". I told them I called. The woman behind the desk acted like I was lying and said she would talk to the manager. She never did. Never got back to me. I've been a ME member for quite a while now & enjoy the fact that I can find a ME location in most places that I travel to. BUT I really like the Morgan Hill location so much that I prefer to schedule my massage time when I am in town ( I live in So Cal, but come up to this area about once a month ).. The people are always friendly & they remember you which is really cool. I consider a massage as part of my well being / healthy lifestyle & part of my workout routine ( the best part ).. Lately, my massage therapist has been Vicky and if you like deep tissue she is AWESOME ! I request her each time I'm here. Let me give you some advise..... If you have not made massage part of your regualr routine yet, DO IT ! You will not be sorry ! Did anyone else have issues with Morgan Hill Massage Envy during the pandemic shutdowns when it was closed but continued to charge our accounts? We had a family of 4 signed up and continued to get charged even though we made several calls to the number provided asking to stop the charges. We were finally able to get them stopped after $2,400+ in unused services charged. After getting the payments stopped, the location management was basically uncooperative in working with us on how to resolve or get reimbursed, and basically only gave the option to keep paying in order to use the $2,400+ in unused services. Nothing against the therapists - they were good. We should have had our credit card reject the payments after unsuccessfully getting Massage Envy to stop charging us during the several months they were shutdown, but at the same time we feel completely ripped off. Not wanting to pay anymore, our account was then shutdown with $2,400+ in unused services. Anyway, I'm looking for others who may have had this issue and seeing if anyone is taking legal action. Please let me know. I have all of my documentation including account numbers, unused hours/amounts, and notes from their front desk and local management. read more

I just got off the phone with this location and the customer service was HORRIBLE. They did not want to help me or even know how to retrieve my hours correctly. They were so unorganized and gave me another number to "help" when all I needed was to know how many hours I have? I use to work for a massage envy and it's not difficult AT ALL. I was visiting my sister in San Jose and the closest M.E. was in Morgan Hill. I knew about the low cost and the quality of massages because I work at one in Vegas, so I decided to book 2 1-hr massages for me and my sister. She had a great experience getting a deep tissue session (she's a ballroom dancer) however, my therapist was jumping from very lite pressure to very deep pressure constantly no matter what body limb she was on. The liter part felt good cause I asked for a lite Swedish massage but the deeper part was Waaaaay too much and I told her she was going too deep while she was massaging my calfs (she started with the legs instead of the back, not use to that either) and her response was, "Everyone is tender in those spots, it's normal." I was like, "Ok?!?" She never changed her pressure, so I just thought I might as well just fasten my seat belt for this bumpy ride 'till the end. After the massages we paid for our own (even tipped them both) and went on our way. I was a little tired, but figured it's normal to feel somewhat relaxed after a deep rubdown (my clients feel that way all the time) ... however, it wasn't until 6 hours later that I started to feel like I got ran over by a semi, couldn't move a muscle, let alone step out of car without my sister's help, so I decided to go into a jacuzzi to relax the tension and release the pain. That was about 9 hours after the massage at 24-hr Fitness. I lasted about 10 minutes before I felt dizzy, and then when we got home I threw up and passed out on the floor of my sister's apartment. After I woke up and put myself together again I decided to call M.E. and leave a message for the manager to call back about a refund because I have NEVER in my life had an experience like that after a session before. The manager called me back the next day accusing me of trying to get a lower rate as an employee of the Vegas branch (which I ONLY asked about and never intended on MAKING them give it to me), and lecturing me about the fact that a you shouldn't be going into a jacuzzi right after a massage (which was what HER school taught her) .... and after I told her that it wasn't immediately after but many hours later ... she finally threatened me that she KNOWS my bosses VERY well and already CALLED them to let them know she WASN'T gonna return my money! I was really stunned at her response to my complaint I wasn't really thinking before she HUNG UP on me ... but ... who gives her the right to call my boss? What does that have to do with anything? I was a CLIENT at her branch not an employee (every Massage Envy is owned by a different person - only few people actually own 2 or 3 at once). I don't even care about the session anymore, but I am VERY disappointed in how this situation was handled by the MANAGER - VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
