We had such a good experience at Ulta. Josh did an amazing job on my godmother's hair and was so patient and gentle with her, especially while washing her hair. He really took his time and made sure she was comfortable the whole time. My godmother has dementia, so doing her hair on her own is hard for her, and he was just absolutely fantastic with her. He made us laugh, kept things light, and really brightened her day. He also recommended a curl product that worked really well for her hair and made it easier for her to manage. It truly meant a lot to us. You can tell he genuinely cares about his clients and loves what he does he has been doing hair for 10 years. We will definitely be coming back and requesting him again. Came here on my lunch break today to browse mini gifts for filler for a present. Had no idea what to get, so I wandered aisle to aisle. I had a store credit from a late return and purchase I'd done the day before. About 10 minutes into my browsing, I hear an aggressive woman a ways behind me saying "I'm calling the cops." Then more assertive "You need to leave now or I'm calling the cops." I minded my own business smelling body scrubs on the wall, thinking she was on the phone dealing with a personal problem. It wasn't until she got right in my space saying "That's it! I'm calling the cops!" that I realized she was an employee and said "Are you talking to me?!" She said "Yes, we saw you put something in your purse. Now get out!" I was completely shocked as I showed her the items I had collected in my hand and offered to dump out my purse. I never even touched my drawstring closed purse. Maybe I put my phone in it when I entered? When she realized her mistake she quickly dismissed it and walked away saying "it's not her" in her mic... Some apology for the accusation and anxiety inducing experience... I didn't even want to finish my shopping, but I was worried they'd think I was guilty if I put it all down. I feel like I was targeted as a criminal for my red hair and tattoos. I spend $100-200/month at Ulta on my hair care, skin care, makeup, and gifts. I will NEVER come back to this location. There were like 3 shoppers in the store and at least 5 associates. No one had time to ask if I needed help, check cameras, or tail me to confirm their suspicions before trying to embarrass me and kick me out? "It's not her"... They told me to wait as Jennifer was finishing up curls for some other client. 5:13PM she is still finishing up curls, I left as I had to be at an event by 5:45PM. they should not over book and manage their time better. I had gone back after a 6 month break from their salon after the last bad experience of a stylist switch at the last minute without any input from me. Fantastic selection of products first of all. I did enjoy cruising around and looking at all the different products that Ulta carries. I myself work in the beauty world, but a lot of the brands at Ulta. I don't see in the locations I work so it's fun to look at different products. My two stars is because of the horrible customer service I got from Jadalyn. I pride myself at giving fantastic customer service, especially coming from a retail background and so when I get rude service, it makes me super angry. When dealing with customers, you should know how to be a little bit more welcoming and and not sound like you hate your job. If you do hate your job maybe you should find something different to do. read more

My experience here as an indigenous person was very odd. The only people to greet me and cared to ask if I needed any assistance were the kind people at the MAC booth. Other than that, NOBODY even wanted to acknowledge me with a smile or make eye contact and then talk in their walkie. I said hello TWICE and smiled more than I could and I got NOTHING. I know ULTA don't pay enough but PLEASE smile and ensure the people on the sales floor are approachable. I didn't even want to pay or give this ulta my business at this point but I didn't want them to assume I was stealing. Even the managers while paying at the front barely acknowledged me. I don't feel comfortable coming back here unless it's the nice people from MAC who are left in the store. The extra star is for the MAC worker who saved my trip with their friendliness. Please train your staff to approach and help customers of color with friendliness and respectful attitude, Besides the MAC workers, this establishment lacks professionalism and human decency! read more

On 01/17/26 I had a make up appointment with one of the artist. I arrived to my appointment with a very specific eye shadow look I wanted and showed the artist. My appointment started at 1:30pm, the make up artist spent 30 minutes doing shadow on one eye... She never once asked to see my reference photo again after she started my make up and I had to ask her to fix it 3 times before I finally told her I had to leave because she was just playing on my face for half an hour and not doing what I wanted even after I repeatedly told her exactly how to fix it. I honestly was really trying to give her a chance to execute the eye look i was asking for, but she was very adamant on doing a soft glam wedding look rather than the bold look I was paying for. Luckily I myself am a make up artist so I was able to do my own make up. I would also like to add that I had asked her to fill in the bald spots on my eye brows but to not touch the rest of my brow because I had just got them laminated and tinted and the aren't supposed to have anything on them. She decided to go over my entire brow with brow pencil.... I should've got up and left right then. Ulta you need to bring back the MAC make up artist! They are the only ones I will ever trust to touch my face again at your store. read more

She asked several times and I continued to repeat my answer. Then she asked for my email. I responded again that I don't have an email to give her. I don't like being harassed by a sales person for information I don't want to share. Finally I asked if I could just pay cash for the item I wanted to purchase. Went in to purchase a red-orange lipstick. Simple, right? The woman that helped me - we tried many samples on my wrist - I kept saying orange lipstick w a bit of red. Everything seemed to be a bit tooo red. We went to a few different beauty lines. All lovely, but not what I wanted. Of course we ended up at Dior. We tried many samples on our wrists. Told her two different times I had a problem with feathering/lipstick bleeding up. "You need a lip pencil". Did not say "Oh, ____ brand is known for not bleeding up/feathering". Was so tired of the whole process that I chose a pencil and lipstick/gloss. We sprayed alcohol on our hands and wiped off the sample products. She said something cute like "Well, they're indelible!" (because they took a bit of effort to remove them). Did not say thank you or goodbye. Just turned around and starting helping a guy behind her. Went to pay. There was only ONE customer at counter (w her daughter) being helped by the clerk. They walked away from counter. I went up to counter to be helped "I'm still helping them". Okaaaaay. Went back to where I was standing prior. A second woman saw me waiting and said '"I can help you at the middle counter. And just to let you know the line forms from the left side". I replied "There was only that one customer at the counter so I waited behind her"....okay, that made me think WTH? As she's ringing me up she asked me to put in my phone number. "Do I have to?". "Well, you may be in our system already". "No, that's ok. You can just ring me up". "Are you sure you don't have a number on file - do you shop at Ulta often?" "No". "Well, maybe your number is on file? Do you have a friend who you could give the points to?". "I understand what you are doing and I am not interested". I'm getting miffed. QUIT pushing it!!! "Well, if you use your phone number today you will get $8 off on your next purchase". "I'm not interested". She must have tried 7 different ways to get a phone number on file for me. She asked me how I wanted my receipt. "Print". She put the receipt on the counter, pushed my items toward me and walked away. read more

Yay, I'm happy that Ulta is right down the street from me now! This is also dangerous because I could spend $100 here in like 3 seconds. I also came to the soft opening today. It's much bigger than I had imagined! I like the interior--it's bright inside and there's a good amount of open space. I ended up purchasing a Lancôme highlighter, NYX eyeliner, and a Clinique Happy in Bloom perfume. I'm new to the highlight game, so a super friendly staff member helped me find the one I ended up getting. She also tried some blushes on my face but I didn't find any I was super sold on. I just wish they had a highlight that looked super bomb on black people's skin, but the selection seemed limited in that regard (same with the blush). I made very clear what length I was after, about 2 inches above the Ulta Salon logo on their smocks; a very clear line on my chest. I stated I did not want anything shorter than that. During the cut, I said "it's short" and she replied "it's because of the layers". No, it's because you cut it way shorter then I asked for. I walked out with hair at my shoulders. He had overheard me speaking to other sales associates who basically said what's out on display is all we got, so we don't have it because they didn't sent us product. However, online, the website noted it was in fact, In Stock at the store, but the whole display counter was not set up since the store's opening. Not to be deterred, Jose said "let me see a visual of what that looks like", glanced at my phone, and he went to work; ran to the back, then got on his hands and knees and looked through each of the disorganized drawers, through boxes one by one and found TWO of the sold out product!! Without reading any reviews as I was in desperate need. Lucia ended up being my hairdresser. I by far was so very pleased with her!! She not only took her time to trim and fixed my damaged hair, but she also recommended various products. I which I purchased today as well.
