The website needs updated to state that "hour long" massages are a 45 minute experience. This would then be an accurate representation of your length of service. This was my first time at Massage Envy for a massage. I arrived 10 mins early, as I knew that I had paperwork to fill out. I did and was seated in the Tranquility Room at least 5 minutes before my service. The front desk woman was prompt in assisting me and getting me seated, so kudos to her. But after waiting 8 minutes for my massage therapist, I realized that my front desk experience was as positive as it would get. My therapist finally arrived and took me to the room. She asked if I wanted only upper back/shoulders (as I indicated when I booked the massage via the app and again on the ipad they gave me) or if I wanted full body. I hesitated, and she said "Or we can just get to the rest if we have time." So I said okay, I guess so. I just assumed that if I put a select area, that's what would get worked on and I felt a little pushed into something I wasn't particularly there for. I did indicate on the body map on the ipad that legs were okay, but I did not indicate arms. I made sure to look at the clock before we started because I was starting to realize that I may not get what I was paying for. We started 10 mins late. When I booked the appointment, I'd also indicated I wanted the aromatherapy option (I don't treat myself often!) so I was really excited for that. I didn't know at what part in the process that would occur, which is why I didn't say anything during. She ended up massaging my arms in between my shoulders and my back, and at that point I realized it was all a lost cause. Then when she said we were done and left, I looked at the clock. We'd finished 5 mins early. What a disappointment. She commented on the knots in my back and hoped I'd find some relief as she walked me out front. I told the woman at the desk about the aromatherapy, because I wasn't sold on getting charged for something I didn't get. The upside is I received the first time fee of $55 massage, so at least I wasn't out a huge chunk of money as originally anticipated (hour massages are $95). Giving 2 stars because I don't feel the front desk receptionist is at fault. I just don't understand why I filled out the ipad of preferences, it was given to the therapist and placed in the room, and yet the information on it was disregarded. I guess I just have felt like people care more at other places about why you're there, what you're feeling, etc. She did a good job getting some of my knots out but boy was I sore for two days afterwards (I think this is good but I'm not sure anymore). read more

Don't buy gift cards or memberships for Christmas - the person you give it to will be very disappointed. It's impossible to get an appointment here. I just checked my three nearest locations and the earliest date available is over a month away and it's on a weekday midday. I looked for appointments for weekends and evenings and gave up after looking 6 weeks out. My wife scheduled an appointment for me 6 weeks in advance - they cancelled it on the day of and couldn't offer a reschedule. They appear to have WAY too many active members compared to the appointments available. Scheduling even on weekday middays is very difficult, and if you actually have a job and need an appointment outside of 9-5 work hours - forget it. If they sell more memberships knowing how far behind they are - seems like fraud to me. read more

First of all the receptionist is rude! When someone finally answered the phone I booked a 90 min spa massage. I was very adamant I can NOT do deep tissue. This woman who did the massage slapped lotion on me then pinched my skin and it felt like she used an elbow in my back. The pain I have from the massage is like no other. The last 30 minutes she had me on my back and pinched my neck and held it. I will NEVER return there again! Mind you I had gone there like 5 years ago to check them out and wasn't impressed! People if you want a good massage to go Spa Retreat in Delaware at least they listen to You and your not over paying for a slap, elbow and pinch! read more

Do Not join as a member to the powell and dublin ohio Massage Envy. The owner never returns any calls regarding your membership. You are not able to use your sessions already paid as you wish. If you want a stone massage instead of using several of your pre PAID sessions they make you pay more money. Even if you have a lot of sessions paid for you still have to continually pay for the current month's session. You will never be able to use up all your sessions if you do not go for a massage monthly. If you want to stop your membership you will be given 60 days to use the prepaid sessions and then lose the rest of the money you paid out. They are not flexible at all. Feel sorry for the people that have to work there too. read more

Have heard people rave about this place forever, but I was never enticed to try it out because I am ultra ticklish and have never been able to enjoy a massage. But my sister gave me a gift card, so I decided to give it a go by trying a facial. Going in, my expectations were super high, and I blame the girl who booked my appointment over the phone. She described the process as this peaceful, highly customized experience wherein the esthetician would use products and treatment specifically designed for my skin type after a careful consultation and examination. Included would be a stress relieving shoulder, neck and head massage. HELL. YES. (I should note that I have experienced facials many a time at Charles Penzone and every one of them has been sheer bliss, so that also contributed to the lofty expectations I had of this particular occasion) The lady who performed my facial was... pretty bad. The only thing I enjoyed about her was that she listened to my stress levels and how they were affecting my body and then placed me into an anti-anxiety yoga pose for the duration of my facial (legs and head elevated). It was quite relaxing. And now. Here's what I couldn't stand about her: 1) She talked THE ENTIRE TIME 2) She didn't just talk... she spent the hour trying to sell/upsell me into products and other Massage Envy services 3) At the end of my facial, she talked me into buying $60 worth of product (partially my fault for not having the nerve to say No) 4) Said product that I purchased made me break out in horrific fashion all over my face. Four weeks later, my skin is still recovering and is scarred all over my cheeks. I will NEVER go back. read more

Couldn't find an appointment at a time that worked for me. I work out and wanted to schedule an appointment on a Friday evening after one my hardest workouts of the week. I called the Saturday before and all they had was a 3:00PM appointment. Really? Open until 10:00PM, calling 6 days before, and only 3:00PM available? OK, I finally got an appointment. Got a 90 minute deep tissue massage from Tracy. She's really strong and did a great job. read more

My experience was great more recently. The service for facial was great, didn't realize how relaxing a session could be while learning about skin condition. The customer service was great. And I was helped by someone at desk who was beyond helpful, and sounded more insightful versus the typical check in/check out experience. The room I was worked on and the atmosphere was great. Only cons is that I had hoped to have a better or thorough consultation with a device I noticed at a desk area out in waiting room but that wasn't even mentioned, and I forgot to ask about but will. I did have to wait one time a bit longer than usual, another esthetician who chatted with me over shared by her body language, and a younger front desk rep who was friendly, seemed to personalize to other staff that I was unhappy, and the other front desk lady handled this more professionally and was much better larger picture with how to help myself and probably a better face with stressful situations as she was much more calm; maybe she was a manager. I also felt the stressed out one was passive aggressively encouraging myself to leave low tip. I'll continue to come back for services and will probably buy products as I learn. Have had several different masseuses that really know what they are doing when it comes to fibryo patients and they always hit the right spots to relieve the deep pains of FM. I'm a big fan of the services provided by ME overall but this particular location is very difficult to get through to. No one answers the phone. I understand they may get pulled away from the desk on the top of each half hour, but I make it a point to call in between. Their online scheduling services seem to go down quite a bit as well which makes it frustrating to make appointments. read more

Run - do not walk from this massage envy and those owned by the same owner in Dublin, Powell. I have tried since August to cancel my membership, due to medical reasons and continue to get charged, I have completed both forms required to cancel and was personally told on the phone on 10/30 that I would no longer be charged by the owner. What a crock, the computers never seem to be working when you go to cancel and no one knows anything about anything. I am sure there are other massage envy locations that are reputable but these are not. I wish I could get paid for services not provided. I mean run!!!!! read more

I was looking forward to my massage here but I was actually disappointed. Although the atmosphere was wonderful it was a painful experience, I requested light to medium pressure. I often had to ask the girl to ease the pressure. Now today I'm so sore I can't hardly move. I thought a massage was supposed to make me feel better not worse. Huge disappointed. read more

First off, I moved to AZ, so unfortunately the Powell location is no longer my go-to place for fixing my messed up body. The therapist I always went to in Powell was Jessica... She definitely had me figured out and I always left feeling improved and much less stiff/sore. If I could have put Jessica on the moving truck to take over at the Mesa, AZ location, I might have continued w Massage Envy. But alas... the therapists here in Mesa AZ were just so so and the prices went up. While I wish I could have a standing appointment w Jessica when traveling back to our Ohio office, it appears that I am consigned to a lesser fate. Overall, the Powell location is attractive, has friendly staff, etc. Prices could be improved. read more

Worst customer service ever! I woke up late this morning with a bad cold and sore throat and called to cancel only because I didn't want to spread my germs! I was told that I would be charged for the appointment! So, I am going in to get my massage. I will not be renewing my agreement with them. read more

Horrible!!! I moved to the area from Florida and was in need of a sports massage. I made an appt with powell massage envy and received okay service. I was talked into getting a membership after being unsold for a half an hour on how they had several sports massage therapist that could do art work and deep tissue sports massages. I went to several different people there and it just got worse every time!!! I tried to cancel several times.. I was told I was locked in for a year. I had to pay another massage therapist to work on me while I was still making monthly payments to massage envy! I finally called my credit card company to stop them from withdrawing payments from my account until finally the manager called me and I explained my concerns... She then told me I could cancel after trying for several months while they were just taking my money... I then filled out a cancellation form and faxed it over and now to my surprise they are still trying to take the money out of my account!!! What kind of business is this!!! What ever happened to customer service!!! I would not recommend powell massage envy to my enemy!!! read more
