I've been to this location a few times now that I have the membership! I decided to get the membership because of my crazy work schedule so that I can have a great relaxing session to relieve some tension from stress. The front desk staff are very nice and welcoming when you walk in. They take serious precautions during covid 19 and make sure all guests are safe! They do take your temperature as well! My massage therapist is amazing! Dawud is so great because he is always asking me questions on what I wanted to work on and how he can help me with my issues (I have an L5 bulging disc in my lower back and he was very careful) It seems like he knows what he is doing and is always communicating with me during the treatment! I have been having a rough few weeks and coming in today, made me so much more relaxed and I was able to go about my day way better physically and mentally! read more

Don't bother signing up or going here. They will cancel your appointments the DAY OF no matter how far ahead you've scheduled and not have a care in the world. But if you cancel your appointment they charge you or take your session. I'm more stressed dealing with them than I've ever been and they're supposed to help you destress. read more

I was passing by and really needed a massage since I hurt myself. The therapist was great she really did have wonderful hands. The reason for not giving 5 stars is because my appt started 15 min past scheduled time. I never was laying on a table for so long in my life. Was about to get up and go ask what was going on before she finally came in. And then It ended on time making my massage barely 45 min. I feel like I got jipped since so my time was spent waiting. I was going to say something to the receptionist but the therapist was sitting up front when I was checking out. Overall, feel like I should have gotten more. I had a wonderful experience at Massage Envy. It was a rainy day and have been suffering from stress knots on my neck. The receptionist was very attentive, professional and helpful. My appointment was on a rainy. Thursday I had Robert as a masseuse. I explained my problem area and he really focused on them. He was a wonderful conversationalist, which is a first for me. I hate dead silence when getting a massage, I'm more relaxed talking. I felt like I was on Cloud 9 after. Definitely ask for Robert when you make an appointment. Ill be going back soon. I used to come to this location all the time but then I moved and got pregnant! Finally after 8 months of a ROUGH pregnancy I came back to jersey and was like I need a massage! I got a prenatal massage with Sara. It was my first time getting a prenatal massage and I was nervous... but she was AMAZING! She made me feel so comfortable, she explained the different things she was doing and it's purpose/how it's going to help. She also gave me tips on how to help bloodflow to lessen my swelling. Had a 60- minute massage with Lismery yesterday. No complaints at all. Very clean facility. Very friendly staff. Hand sanitizer at front desk. Masks worn by all the whole time. I was allowed to pull my mask down while facing down on the bed which was more comfortable, and then pulled it back up when turned over. I've had some pretty horrible experiences at this location. Several appointments that I had scheduled "mysteriously vanished" from the system, and I was left without a massage for that week. A massage therapist hurt me by stretching my knee that I told him not to touch because it needs to he operated on. Another massage therapist complained and shamed me for giving him a credit card tip rather than a cash tip. Management does absolutely nothing to make right by the customer on these issues. They act like they don't even care and just make excuses for their mistakes. I have spent thousands of dollars at this location, this is not the way to treat a loyal customer! I cancelled my membership and will never return. Stay clear from here! I had an appointment scheduled on a Saturday for Sunday unfortunately I was called out to cover at work I left a msg on their answering machine and they say they never received my message and could not give a refund it's just another reason why not to go here. I Heard from a friend that they were awful in customer service but me trying to give them the benefit of the doubt scheduled and to feel like the receptionist who was working this morning called me a liar to my face they had not received a voice mail from me nor was I told about a 5 hour policy. AVOID THIS PLACE, especially this location!!! If you ever run into problems or issues, DO NOT TALK TO SHAWNA, she is not the right person to talk to! She will literally make your problems bigger and will not do anything to try to resolve an issue. She has no customer service skills whatsoever and will not admit that a mistake has been made by her or any other staff member. She will try her best to tell you that you are wrong (indirectly of course) and that nothing can be done to resolve a problem. Every time I talk to Shawna, I feel like my blood pressure goes up so high, and I'm usually a calm person. My husband booked a massage for me a week in advance at this location. I usually go to the one in Closter and never had a problem. I get to my appointment 10 mins early and they say "sorry we have you hooked for next week but can get you in today if you want to wait a half hour in our tranquility room". After calling my husband to of course blame him for booking the wrong appointment, he speaks with the girl who then speaks with a manager who is very nice and accommodating. They give me a discount and I happily go into the room to wait. 5 mins later, the older woman at the desk yells "Obviously if she didn't get a confirmation call she's not on the calendar" and throws her pen on the desk. The tranquillity room is 3 feet from the desk so I hear and see all of this. I just thought it was very unprofessional. I hope the massage is better than that lady. read more

From a 'doing business with' standpoint, I have to take issue with Massage Envy - they continue to call me during Business hours on my work phone. This is after I explicitly asked them not to call during the workday. I regret putting my info in their system - good massage therapist, but not worth the lack of respect for my personal info or heavy handed marketing. I have been going to this massage envy location for the past few months, and became a monthly member after my first session. All of the staff and providers I've seen have been wonderful, however, I had to take some time this morning to specifically write a review regarding the massage therapist I saw last evening. I cannot remember how to spell his name (I believe it begins with a U-sorry!), but he was AWESOME!!! I have never in my life had such a great massage before. He was also very professional and kind, and we were able to share some laughs which is always a plus for me! I am very much looking forward to my next session in February. I have been seeing Tomarsha for 7 years starting at another location and even though I have to drive at least 45 miles to see her now, I continue to do because she is, by far, the best therapist I have ever had. I have been getting massages since my early 20s at different spas and feel her techniques and pressure work very well to de-stress and alleviate sore areas. At one point, I had stopped going for a few months and woke up one day with wicked pain in my neck. After getting an x-ray, I found out I had been walking around for some time with a serious amount of arthritis in the cervical area which up to that point, I had never felt. After picking up my sessions again with Tomarsha, I no longer have that pain unless I go a few months between sessions. read more

The receptionist greeted me with a friendly smile, and allowed me to use the introductory rate coupon (I always dread using them as many times are given issues due to "the fine print"), despite having been there already. My massage therapist, Robert, provided a great massage. I have severe, persistant upper and mid back pack and receive frequent massages. I often find that it is difficult for therapists to find the correct spots or right amount of pressure for my body type, but Robert found all the knots and sore spots and used just the right amount of pressure. As a frequent spa client (luxury and small business spas), I decide to try a franchise spa. I was quite surprised. The staff was very friendly and informative. Jessica was the receptionist that attended me from the moment I arrived and at checkout. My esthetician was Ghazala. She was very gentle with the extractions. Since I am someone who gets frequent facials....I realized you don't need that much pressure or pain to get the blackheads out. She gave me some great advice and product recommendations. This place is run very poorly. I booked a 90 minute massage the week before and my therapist never even showed up so I couldn't get a massage. The crazy thing was that I received 4 phone calls confirming the appointment. I even got a call stating the woman who gave my massage the previous week before was coming in specifically just to see me (Erica). It took 15 minutes and they called the therapist who just completely forgot. I had traveled in from the city and my husband was also getting a 90 minute massage, so at 39 weeks pregnant, I was disappointed and waiting in the lobby for him to finish before I could even leave. Everyone was very apologetic but that doesn't really help when there is no solution. Complete waste of time and not what anyone wants to deal with when about to give birth. All I wanted was a little bit of relief from aching back and feet. Wish I would have just stayed home and left my feet up. Very disappointed and will not be back to this location. But then again, I'll have a newborn so won't have any chance for a massage in any given future. read more

Worst massage ever at River Edge, NJ location on Monday July 25, 2016. I specifically asked for a deep tissue massage and even told the girl at the desk who did my initial paper work that I only wanted my neck shoulders and back. I explained that I had fibromialjia and 2 rods on my spine from scoliosis surgeries, I am able to receive deep tissue massages and they are the best since I can not bend my back at all because of the rods and the deep tissue massages help move the muscles in my back. I did not receive a deep tissue massage at all. The massage I was given was more like a mini chiropractic session and hardly any massage at all, I tried to be polite and go with it but the girl I had talked through the entire massage and it wasn't even that dim in the room and both of those were extremely distracting. On top of all of that I am in terrible pain, not the pain you get after a good massage but pain in my bones and on my spine. I think that the therapist underestimated my condition and did not take professional precaution that I had a back and pain condition and she had never worked on someone with rods on their back. In that case I think she should have just not tried anything and respected my initial wishes to just do the deep tissue massage that I had originally wanted. I had the massage and since then I have felt miserable. This was a terrible experience for me and I do not want to return to any of the massage envy clinics. read more
