Where can I start! First off the front desk lady was super nice. Wow did I feel welcomed! I sat in an amazing cozy waiting room and had delicious hot tea! The girl handed me off a menu of upgrades so I decided to get the Warm Pink Salt Stone massage! Such a perfect night for this. The room was spotless and so was my massage therapist, her uniform smelled of the best fabric softener. I asked what it was and she said Suavatell the yellow one! I can't wait to get it. The music was delightful. I also loved that the room had super dim lighting... nice for me as who wants to see all that! Lol!! The warm stones were so nice they felt amazing plus I also felt like my skin was getting exfoliated. She used her hands and the stones so it wasn't just the stones the entire time. There was on with a point on one of the stones and she was digging at a knot. It felt amazing! She checked in with me from time to time on the pressure which was nice. I came once before for a facial which was also so good! I ended up joining the membership tonight... it came with a FREE hour for a promotion they were having. I went to massage envy in waldwick about 8 months ago and had a very bad experience. For the record I like massage envy and still go to anotherLocation in Bergen county frequently. I think each location is independently run. For years waldwick was my backup location and they were fine. Recently however i got kicked out and the front office attendant who has dyed beach blonde hair gaslit me by threatening to call the cops on me. I gave the masseuse a 14% tip. The reason I didn't give more is because pricing and upselling now a days makes these massage experiences so expensive and because my wife and I go monthly so we spend so much money there. So you would think they would understand the reduced tip given how much we invest monthly. It's not like going to a restaurant which is cheaper. When she saw my tip she said " if that's what you're going to give it's best if you don't come back here". Mind you I just dropped 80.00 on a massage and got some cream upgrades as well. The entitlement and lack of sympathy for people's budgets is amazing. They seem to think they are the only one with bills. You would think they would be happy someone paid over 90.00 at their establishment but if you don't drop a major tip as well they are huge victims. Both my wife and are also monthly members ( my wife went to waldwick monthly , 90% of the time I went to another location). I always tip at least 18% at establishments if they do a respectable job but for massages they are so much and I go so frequently I just tip 14%. I thought since I go monthly they would understand the reduced tip (14%). Before the tip incident I also told the front office attendant who has bleached blonde dyed hair that I was only massaged for 47 minutes as opposed to 50. When I told her that she accused me of lying and got really defensive. After these two instances the attendant told me to Leave or she would call the cops because she said I was getting "emotional". In reality she was gaslighting me because she wanted to be unprofessional with immunity. God forbid I show emotion over their bizarre practices. I asked the Lady who threatened to call the cops on me for her name she refused to give it to me. She couldn't even stand by her name. It seems She wanted to be rude with immunity. My sister gave me a gift certificate for my birthday for a pregnancy massage. The massage wasn't bad (but it didn't blow my mind). The masseuse was professional, the room was clean. The reason I gave them three stars is because of the ridiculous upsell attempt following my massage. They want you to join their spa and pay a monthly fee to be able to get a massage once a month. Fine. I get it. But if you want to cancel your membership you either need a doctors note or move somewhere 25 miles or further from one of their spas. In other words, you have to ask permission and APPLY for a membership cancellation. When I told the woman I wasn't interested, she kept going on and on trying to get me to commit. I'm seven months pregnant, with substantial back pain (which is why I came in for a massage to being with), standing there listening to her thirty minute spiel and trying to get out of there, but she wouldn't quit. I looked at the positive Yelp reviews and decided to ask for Jed! I have had one knee replacement and need another and carry my pain from my hips down. Jed was wonderful! I had a 90 minute massage, all over body plus a focus on my legs. He has strong hands with excellent pressure and great technique. I highly recommend Jed as well as Waldwick Massage Envy! The desk simply informed me of my options and when I declined she was respectful and moved on. She was highly knowledgeable on the options and was not pushy at all. A friend recommended George at the Waldwick location, and I was so impressed by him and the overall quality of staff that I was willing to travel to Waldwick which is much further than my local ME. The women at the front desk go above and beyond their job description in making sure customers are comfortable and appointments go smoothly, even giving directions when a local detour confused my GPS. I have always had a good experience there, and they run good promotions. Besides George, I have had appointments with Roland, Katie, and Jedediah, and each has their own unique strengths. I've actually become very upset with my recent experiences at Massage Envy through-out the North Jersey region. I joined while on a business trip in Georgia, where I had a GREAT experience and at the price of $49/month for massage, I thought.. why not? You're able to use your pre-paid credit for a massage at any location in the US, so I thought it would be perfect as I tend to travel frequently. I have been a "member" since June 2010. In the last 7 months, I have probably experienced 3 mediocre massages. That's almost half of the massages I have purchased! I don't think it's acceptable considering the amount of money I am paying. There has been twice where I was put with a therapist that did not match what I prefer. I enjoy relaxing/swedish massages, and am some-what sensitive to deep digging or hard pressure, but those were the therapists I am always assigned, even if I tell them I want relaxation and medium pressure. I also never get the same therapist because of having to go to different locations, or they don't work when I am available, etc. Maybe the front desk staff booking the appointments should take more consideration into the needs of the members, and matching them to a therapist that fits their needs instead of blindly booking open therapists. It just feels like a hit or miss with Massage Envy, and when my membership is over. I am going to stick with small boutiques. Even if I am paying more. read more

The facilities were clean, comfortable, and I loved the set up of the massage rooms - it was almost like entering a warm, luxurious cave before you go into the individual rooms. Each individual room was comfy and well laid out. My room was mostly very quiet, except for the occasional door slamming nearby. The front-desk staff member I dealt with was super nice, and was not at all pushy when proposing the costly membership. My sole problem with Massage Envy was the cost. The $49 introductory deal was great - but I would not return with their standard rates. The rates are just as expensive as the Fountain (Ramsey, Hackensack), but the spa is nowhere near as luxurious. Good basic massage. Vivian was polite and professional (and did an admirable job considering I'm basically a big ball of non-unclenchable muscle). She took a good amount of time asking about my habits and health as related to the service she was going to perform. Nice sitting area in the lobby, everything looked clean and simple but pleasant in the room. Didn't get the sales pressure some have mentioned, and the reception staff were very pleasant. Wouldn't hesitate to go back if $50 was the regular rate, but that's just for first timers; after that it's $100 for an hour (they advise you on the phone that the actual massage time is 50 minutes), or $60 with membership (a 12-month commitment). Other than the fact that I'm just poor, I really have no complaints. Be advised that they require a credit card to hold your appointment (if you're going on a weekday morning/afternoon I think you'd have a good shot at a walk-in [Yelp says appointments only, but there was a sign outside the place that said they take walk-ins]), but for the payment it's cash only. They actually do have very good massage therapists at this location, but the unreliability and unaccountability is inexcusable.
