BUYER BEWARE!! I have tried several times throughout the past 4 years to discontinue my subscription. I have been disputing the charge on my Chase account as well as contacting the Rocky Point, NY establishment to cancel the account so that I would no longer be charged. I have gone down there 5 times from October 1-October 20 to ask to have my membership terminated. Each time I am told that the manager is either not in or on a conference call and cannot cancel the membership at that time but will call me back. I have never received a call and continue to be charged for the service. I have attached photos of the documents I filled out for the 5th time on October 16, 2024, yet am still being charged for the service on October 21, 2024. Sadly, now that I am looking into this, I see this is a standard practice with this business. Be very thoughtful before you sign this contract. read more

I have never left a bad review on Yelp and I love supporting local businesses. However this one is not good. They oversell memberships and make it extremely difficult to get an appointment. After one month I wanted to cancel but could not. So I had to wait an entire year. There is another place up the block I found called Radiance Facial and Spa. I was hesitant to come to this location because of the negative reviews. I did not have a membership (which seems to be the big issue of why negative reviews) and just went with gift card. I got microderm infusion done by Kaleigh. She did a fabulous job and was very thorough explaining things when i asked about the treatment. She was very professional and did a great job. Mr Brady was very polite and checked me in. He did explain the membership and how it worked --and made mention about card being charged monthly (probably in response to all these complaints about it ). Did not pressure me to join. Glad i gave this place a chance. Great experience BUT i can only imagine the frustration with the membership. Hope that improves so others can focus on the services ! read more

DO NOT GO TO MASSAGE ENVY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! THEY ARE HORRIBLE. They would not cancel my membership and kept deducting the monthly fee anyway. I called multiple times and could never get a supervisor or manager on the phone. I was told they were not available. i even changed my card number and they kept charging it anyway. This place should be shut down for raising their prices and not letting the costumers know and illegally charging customers. I will be starting a law suit so they cannot steal from any other customers. Something has to be done to stop this and I will be making sure it gets done one way or the other. read more

Management at this location is horrible. I canceled my membership in July of 2023 and the will not stop charging my credit card even though they are blocked from charging me. They refuse to return my calls yet, they text me non stop asking me to contact them for an updated credit card. I do not recommend this business. read more

After being a member for 10+ years, we have found this year to be the worst in scheduling appointments. Everytime we schedule,they cancelled. Corporate needs to get involved due to no staffing. We are paying a monthly charge and not receiving services, I am now scheduled for my massage in 4 months this is not acceptable. I had an appointment schedule with a certain massage therapist around the end of July and Massage Envy called to cancel this appointment as the Massage Therapist was sick and they were going to call and re-schedule my appointment. I waited for about 2 weeks and no one called. I called today and spoke with a representative who informed me that the massage therapist is out of work for at least 6-12 weeks. Now, I am a paying monthly member, paying for a membership and I am not receiving the services. I canceled my membership! The lack of communication and un-professionalism is really sad!. They could have at least called this massage therapist's clients and explained the situation and communicate this with his clients, but instead, they just want to take our money and leave us in the dark! After my massage I was asked if I'd like a membership. I was happy about massage and said yes. When I got home I realized with my work schedule and a 30 minute drive to the place this was not feasible. I called to speak to the manager. She called me back two days later. I never got in touch with her. I called my bank and told them I didn't want to be charged. Message envy charged me. I was told by my bank to order a new debit card which I did. This would enable them not to charge me. Today I was charged $70. My bank said because I signed a contract they were able to call MasterCard to get my Number and charge me. I received a giftcard for massage envy in October & I have been trying to book a prenatal massage since then. I have tried 3 location(Rocky point, lake grove & commack) & they all have told me they are fully booked. I put myself down for a cancellation call which they said happens daily & I still have not received anything. Somehow their gift cards don't expire but lose value...so by the time I actually get an appt my giftcard won't have any value.....I don't understand. Very disappointed!!!! read more

I've been in dire need of a massage since moving to Coram. The move took a lot out of me. I have chronic back problems, as well as carpotunnel. Based on the reviews here, I decided to give them a try. I was not disappointed. My wife and I went together, and both got the introductory priced 1 hour (50 min) massage. We were greeted professionally, and given paperwork to fill out. Both the greeter AND the therapists took time to discuss our particular issues before starting. The greeter assigned a therapist based on what we needed, and the therapists adjusted based on what we told them, and continued to adjust through the entire hour. Personally, I require someone with a firm hand - I have a lot of muscle tightness and swollen tendons. My therapist had the strength required to really address the problem spots. She wasn't shy about using pressure, checked on me when something hurt. I told her that if it got to be too much, I'd tell her specifically - and instead of being paranoid when I said "ouch" she simply continued on. EXACTLY what I needed. Sometimes it's gotta hurt a bit to feel better in the long run. When everything was over, we were NOT accosted going out to sign up for a plan or anything. I knew ahead of time that there were memberships, but no costs were posted. I like that they allowed ME to ask about it, rather than try to hard-sell me. They simply explained what it was, and that was it. The therapists made it a point to give us a card with their schedule on it. The value, I must admit, was significantly good. I have no objection to paying $59 for an hour massage, especially when it lives up to my expectations and more. My wife was equally satisfied, and we both purchased a membership. I'm looking forward to my future visits, and I highly recommend this franchise to others. If someone from the business is reading this - I'll offer up a fifth star for: real candles instead of fake electric ones, and real water glasses instead of paper cups :) An option of warm green tea might be nice too. read more

What a relief! After several bad experiences at other Massage Envy locations, I am glad that we did not give up on this place. We went in planning on using our last pre paid massage and canceling at the end of our session. However, we had an awesome experience here today! We went in for a couples hour-long massage. His therapist did exactly what he wanted and mine was out of this world! Tiffany was my therapist and Donna was Dale's therapist. We felt completely relaxed and left feeling amazing - like you should after an hour long massage. The spa was clean, the staff were friendly, and the decor was relaxing. My only complaint - I was offered a complimentary aromatherapy up grade at the Massapequa Park location (due to a terrible customer service experience) and I was told that I could not use it at this location (Rocky Point). What is the point of offering a free upgrade to a location that you never want to revisit? The other location can keep their free upgrade because Rocky Point is our new spot! My only suggestion - making the "tranquility" room more separated from the front door to the lobby. Other locations that we have been to have this area in a more closed off room ~ this way you don't have to hear the phones, customers, etc. read more

After a few years with a chiropractor/massage group, i switched to Massage Envy a year ago. Now muscle therapy and diagnostics/massage is really what I need for the sailing, training, biking, and weight training and the associated issues that arise on my 55 year old chassis. the therapies and therapists have ALL been VERY knowledgeable and if you want therapy and not some foo-fey resort massage, ask for it and they can deliver! Deep, diagnostic, therapeutic knot reducing etc etc. I would give them 5 stars but have to ding them for being moderately more expensive for frequent visits. With gratuity its a bit pricey in my view and experience. read more

This Massage Envy location is amazing. First, I would like to give a lot of credit for my wonderful experience to the management. The people at the front desk always ask me if I would like anything to drink whether it is water or tea, etc. At other locations, I have not had the same experience. Next, the manager is really hands on and truly kind. I see her working persistently, walking in and out of her office to make things as great as possible for clients. And of course, my treatments here have been superb. Kelly was very professional, knowledgeable, and impressive. She had previous experience working in skincare which was easily evident when I asked her any questions and saw the outcome of my treatment. She gets booked really quickly, but it is worth waiting to have someone with the right skills in skincare perform your treatment. She knows what peels offer what type of result, which products are good for your skin type or issue, and, most importantly, how to get the results you want. Even beyond that, she is able to mention to you different ingredients in skincare and what their purpose is. The treatment itself was also amazing. She even gave me a small massage to increase blood flow. It felt like a luxurious spa treatment that I might find performed by a celebrity facialist. Im not one for bad reviews, but this really disturbed me. Some good masseuses but Massage Envy has horrible contract terms. A friend gifted me a massage. I used it and decided to sign up for the annual contract. All was fine until my bosses company failed, and I was no longer working and then when I was, I was making way less money. I called and explained and the best that could be done was a six month freeze on my account. I also live in Mattituck making the closest location a 45 minute drive. You can cancel the contract if you move more than 25 miles away - I live 23.5 miles away. So fast forward, I start to realize even with the six month freeze, the payments had started again and I just felt like I was auto paying the $70/month forever. So I looked into it, again. My yearly contract had expired and Massage Envy just continued taking the money from me. Past the year contract. Another $280. Four months. I had like 8 unused sessions. So I said well I don't want to pay $70/month for this because I can never make it out there. So they tell me, I have one month to use all my sessions. One month to use 8 sessions. Needless to say; I wasn't able to. So basically they took more than $500 of my money, I didn't get to use the service quickly enough, so lost both. And they continued taking my money with no email or phone call about how I wanted to renew my contract. And if that information is in the pages of print on the contract, it's something more important and should be mandatory to be discussed and explained prior to signing up. It all just feels like some big franchise where money is their priority. read more

Massage envy has always provided me with an excellent experience and I would definitely recommend them to others.

When signing up for the membership I asked if the sessions expire and was told no. Reason being, I have a hard time getting appointments due to my commute/work schedule, and had a bad experience with another massage franchise - having had my sessions expire before I was able to use them. Fast forward a whole year where I basically can never get an appointment that works w my schedule so I cancel my membership - then I'm told I have 90 (?) days to use all services or they expire. Really? So I book in all my services within the window so I don't just throw my money away. I had to transfer last weeks service to my husband bc something came up, and when I try to reschedule my next appointment they tell me it needs to be done within the next 4 days bc my sessions expire. Of course they're booked for the weekend (the only time I can get in) and of course they won't let me transfer to my husband again. If you've already paid for the services you should be able to transfer whenever you want- especially since they charge you a fee anyways. Granted all of this is probably in the fine print of the agreement they make you sign, but if a client asks out right if the sessions expire you should be transparent about your policies upfront. read more

Don't let the fact that this is a chain location fool you-- the massages and facials at this Massage Envy are comparable (and in most cases, far surpass) what you would experience at an expensive spa or salon.
