Avoid their monthly membership - not worth the hassle. My husband originally set up an appointment for me at this location over a year ago and enrolled me in their monthly membership. For the first 8-9 months, everything was fine. I was going once a month for injury-related therapy and found it helpful. Then things started to fall apart. First, the therapist I was seeing for 8 months left. My next appointment was canceled, so I picked a new therapist--not a huge deal. But that new appointment was canceled last minute because the therapist called out sick. Again, life happens--I was understanding. But I couldn't get another appointment for almost a month. Then, our card on file expired. Instead of calling us (we'd been clients for nearly a year at that point), I received a text saying payment had failed and all future appointments were canceled until resolved. That was incredibly frustrating--not only had we been paying regularly, but I also had 2-3 appointments banked due to their own cancellations. Still, I called, gave them the new card, and asked to cancel the membership. I was told there would be one final charge (because of their 30-day cancellation policy) and that I'd have 60 days to use any banked sessions. I declined--I just wanted to be done. Fast forward 7 months--we just discovered they've still been charging my husband's card. When he called, the manager claimed there was no cancellation form on file. She agreed to cancel the membership but refused to refund any of the past six months. She said we still had 60 days to use banked services--but never provided the form she claimed was required in the first place, even though we asked. We checked online. Nowhere does it mention a cancellation form and we haven't been able to find one. It only says to call the franchise location to cancel. So either they're being shady, or their policies are a mess. To be clear: I never had an issue with any of the therapists themselves. But the membership system is flawed. They cancel appointments on you, make it hard to keep up with usage, and then make cancellation vague and difficult. If you sign up, be sure to get everything in writing--and double check they've actually stopped charging your card. read more

I've been going to this Massage Envy for the past 6-8 months now. Every time, they were really great; and they always had new people at the desk (I'm assuming a high turnover rate). Either way, very nice and pleasant. I went in there today for my 1pm appointment (which I make once a month). I was recently in a bad car accident; so I was looking forward to some relief. I went inside and they said that someone had cancelled my appointment. They couldn't tell who cancelled it; and they offered to give me a complimentary massage. The manager moved mountains and helped me find another another location to get my massage in. They found one for next Saturday, since I am unable to do the weekdays. We have been members of this Massage Envy franchise. I would definitely warn prospective members, please ask for the team members name when calling about your appointment. This has been the most frustrating part about this company, the will NOT notify you of any charges to your account, and when you call about appointments you get mixed information. We have hoped that our experience would improve but unfortunately it hasn't. Some of the massage therapists are at times not careful, I smelled cigarette smoke on y therapists hands!! I branched out on my most recent visit and got a facial instead of a massage. I'm not typically one for pampering, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try something new, particularly since I'd already pre-paid with my Massage Envy membership. Natalie was the aesthetician who worked on my skin at this appointment. As usual, the staff at this location was unhurried, courteous, and helped set a relaxing mood for my hour. Natalie greeted me warmly at the front and took me straight back for my facial after I declined a complimentary cup of tea. She started by asking me about my skin and determining what my needs may be. Next she took a look at my face under the bright light and magnifying glass to see what areas needed to be worked on. We decided on an anti-aging facial (yes, I'm facing the fact that I'm getting old). She explained every step before applying it, in a voice that was quiet but confident, and soothing in the spa environment. She also didn't chatter too much in between, which helped me enjoy my quiet time even more. Some of the different steps made my skin tingle, or felt cool as they worked on my epidermis, but nothing was unpleasant. As part of the facial, she also performed a hand, arm, and shoulder massage. While I typically like very deep pressure on a massage (I'm pretty active and always have some knotted muscle that needs help unwinding), the light pressure was perfect to help me relax during the facial. At the end of the session, my skin looked dewy and refreshed. I did experience some breakouts throughout the week, which is to be expected -- especially after a first facial, but I still think I may begin adding a facial to part of my regular beauty regimen. read more

The massage was relaxing and the therapist did her massage well. My complaint with Massage Envy is that they are expensive, $105 for 60 minutes. In my case it was $105 for about 45-50 minutes of actual massage. My massage was at 5:00 and the therapist didn't come get me until about 5:02. Then u go to the room and they go over their pre-massage spiel, I got situated and she came back after a couple more minutes. By the time she was done I thought to myself that it didn't seem like an hour. I laid there for a moment and got up and checked my phone which said 5:56. I went on a Sunday when they close at 6:00 and this may have been a factor in why my time was cut short but for the money I paid it was unacceptable. read more

First off, I would start by saying this is the worst massage envy I have ever came by. The disgusting lady Patricia that answers the phone was nothing but nasty to my mother and I. I got my mom a massage for Mother's Day and she has not been able to use it yet. She set up an appointment but then had unexpected oral surgery and she had called to let them know so she could reschedule. She was not canceling she was rescheduling. So after she called and got that across, Patricia interrupted her time and time again, explaining the policy and saying that there was absolutely nothing she could do with a awful attitude. Not offering to speak to a Manager , not giving the corporate number, absolutely nothing but Being a rude mean human being that should not be answering the phone if she can't learn how customer service works. So after she abruptly hangs up on my mom, she goes ahead and charges her card for $80 Whenever her appointment time hasn't even came up. Her appointment was at four and she charged her at 10 AM. I just want to warn anybody else that is going here. They are going to get nothing but awful customer service and they don't give a crap about you or how you feel! Please do not go here. I received a gift card from my children for Mother's Day. I finally made an appointment and then I had an emergency oral surgery. Obviously, I cannot put my face down on a massage chair for an hour with a swollen jaw, etc. I called the morning of my appointment, which wasn't until four in the afternoon and the horrible customer service lady named Patricia decided to repeatedly explain the policy etc. etc. talking over me raising her voice and was extremely rude. I asked to reschedule explained I haven't been on my phone all weekend because of the surgery. I began to try to speak above her and at that point she hung up on me. The other manager called me back Megan or Amber or something and she repeated the same things that Patricia said, but offered me no understanding, etc. After Patricia had hung up on me, she charged my debit card $79.50. I hadnt even cancelled the appointment. I had been hung up on and I was trying to figure out what to do and was actually extremely shocked at the behavior of the employees over the situation. At this point I call my bank because my appointment is not until four and they have charged me. I also have called corporate, etc. They charged me the full amount for a massage and did not know that I had a gift card for my children for Mother's Day. Which is absolutely ridiculous. At this point they made me make another appointment wouldn't let me do it at a different location and basically were useless. They told me that when I come in to my appointment at the place they want me to go, even though I am extremely uncomfortable and they were horrible, that they would refund me some thing and then takeoff the gift card or whatever but they charged me the 7950 at 10 o'clock in the morning. Again my appointment wasn't until four. The extremely horrible interaction was very unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend them at all. I was looking for a relaxing hour massage after a burned down house and divorce and my children were trying to do something nice. And they are all of 15 and 19. Obviously, this was not a relaxing experience at all. I even told them I'd bring a doctor note to prove that I couldn't put my face in the chair. Still nothing. I'd like to thank them for upsetting my daughter and my son who thought I was going to have a nice afternoon. It was unfortunate that I had an emergency surgery, but a simple reschedule without charging my bank account and being complete jerks and hanging up on me would've been nice. If I could give them a zero I would. Beware when you give them your credit card to reserve an appointment. If you have a car accident or emergency surgery or any human problem that may arise at any time if you don't call them the day before you will be charged no matter what. Absolutely ridiculous. I've had good and some bad experiences here. The massage therapists all have different methods. My last visit was not the best, the receptionist was very distracted and I had to ask her to please leave a tip on my card and print me a receipt. The massage therapist I had didnt really take into account my requests and just performed a more standard massage when I asked that he focus on my neck and shoulders. Overall, I like the business and don't regret my membership. read more

Amazing therapists, horrible service. Absolutely ridiculous. They call me a week prior to my service, offering me a complimentary mini-facial or chemical peel or whatever, so I arrive early, and wait... finally I get up and ask if they were still going to provide the service I arrived for early, and they acted as if I had snakes coming out of my head. Then the receptionist asked if the person if she had enough time to complete the service, 5 minutes prior to my massage. Her and I both responded no. Waste of my time and irritated. Now I need to decompress before my service, so I can enjoy it. Ugh. read more

This was such a relief after my last facial disaster I got elsewhere. This staff is professional and respectful and doesn't talk up a storm trying to sell you products while you're trying to relax. If you can get past the revolving door of therapists if might work. I bought membership but have incredible trouble rescheduling an appointment with a regular therapist. After two months without an appointment I finally cancelled my membership but they would not refund me for those two months. I was told I will have to make appointment and use up those two within 60 days! The office manager told me she was doing me a favor! This is my favorite location of all the Massage Envy's in Louisville! It's in a quiet part of a really busy shopping center, but that means more parking! The staff is great, I've been to a couple of massage therapists, April and Alex and they were phenomenal! Donna, the manager, is so nice and helpful and the staff are always so friendly. The spa itself is the updated version and is much nicer than some of the others in town (I've been to all of the others). I've also gotten facials at this location and they were wonderful, the Esthetician was knowledgeable and explained each step. Would highly recommend this location!! read more

I've never written a review on Yelp, but I knew I needed to after my recent facial at the Springhurst Massage Envy with esthetician Diana! While in Louisville for vacation, a friend recommended this location for spa treatments, and I was so delighted by my experience. The staff was so friendly and accommodating upon my arrival and I was taken right away. I wasn't sure what to expect as I'd never been here before, but the spa room was immaculate. The bed was comfortable, lighting was calming, and Diana's pleasant demeanor made my entire facial one of the most relaxing I've ever had! I loved that she listened to me, and asked all about my skin history. She was extremely knowledgable and knew right away what combination of products she would use on my skin. I enjoyed the services/ massage received. However the administration and front desk is very undesirable, and disappointing. I felt every time I had a question the answer was not what I was previously told. Very uninformed. I would not send my family, friends or coworkers to this facility. It is a shame because it is very close to my work. Many nurses and medical staff could benefit. This is a lovely location, the spa is one of the newer, updated styles of Massage Envy. Now, for what they are, it's great. But I will say that I think companies like this are degrading to the massage industry. I dont think this should really be a business that exists, but they do have some wonderful therapists in their. I really do not think people understand how beneficial massage therapy and facials are for you not just physically, but mentally too!
