I called the Upland location early in the morning to make a same-day appt for my 17 yr old daughter for later that evening. (She had a painful kink in her neck due to a strenuous practice routine at school). The staff member I spoke with was very kind and accommodating. She explained to me the steps I needed to take in order to transfer my hours over to my daughter (which was to call the location I have my membership with and ask for them to make the transfer). I called that other location (I prefer not to disclose that information) and experienced the exact opposite customer service. The employee's tone was short and seemed "bothered" with the request I had called her to assist me with. Fast forward to the arrival for my daughter's appt at the Upland location. We were greeted by Patricia, Lillian and Alexis behind the counter with smiles and a warm welcome. They sat my daughter down and explained in detail what to expect, reassuring her that her first massage was going to be an enjoyable experience. Her masseuse, Sylvia, was understanding, kind and truly wonderful. My daughter absolutely loved her massage and felt immediate relief. I enjoyed coming here but too much inconsistency in the facial and massage experiences. Massages can vary and sometimes some of the therapist would try to have a conversation and make it not as relaxing. Same thing with the facials, depending on who you select. Keisha has been amazing since I started going too her about 2 months ago. I had severe sciatic nerve pain and she has got me walking and felling better! I used to be in constant pain all the time and now barely have the pain. She does not do traditional massage but hits all your pressure points releasing the tensions throughout your body. I gave this location an opportunity but will not be going back because of the poor customer service from the front desk. All the girls that work up there are rude, incompetent, and look like they roll out of bed. If you work for a wellness center, you need to look the part. My first visit- great! Of course they sell you on the membership! Second visit- terrible. Do not get greeted and so rude when you have ANY questions. Ashley was AMAZING!! I went back to give because of her! This is not a location I typically go to but I was looking for an hour and a half massage session and they had openings there. I scheduled an appointment for 1:30. At 11:30 the day of the appointment the location me to ask me to come in sooner, 1230. I hurried and got ready and left my house. There was an accident on the freeway so I was 15 minutes. I called to let them know. I got there and was told that the 15 minutes would be taken off my time. I told them they called me and I can't help the freeway. I said ok well I'll just take an hour massage then. The girl says no sorry we have to pay the masseuse. You can't do that either. I was very irritated. I should have just said "no I can't come early to help you with your schedule." She says oh you can have a free aroma therapy. Great I was already getting one. The masseuse did great. I called and spoke to Elizabeth today who adored I pay in person to prevent fraud, before that nobody cared about it. Then Hannah likes to act like the big bad wolf, she was dismissive toward me in the beginning then she realized we were on different pages. I had a massage this morning at the Upland CA location. The room was extremely cold! When the massage started the bed was not warm, and so the bed warmer was turned on. My massage therapists hands were very cold, and she kept apologizing for this. The lotion she was using was also very cold. I asked her to warm the lotion, but she said it wouldn't help. I had goosebumps throughout the entire massage. The massage therapist acknowledged that I was cold, and said she was cold too. My muscles were very tense because of how cold it was. I spoke with the lady at the front desk and she stated that it's always cold and they use space heaters for this reason. I'm very disappointed in my massage experience. This massage comes at a premium price and I expect to feel better and more relaxed after the service. I have never had a massage in my life in which I felt more tense leaving the massage because of how cold it was. I also feel like my concerns were completely ignored by the front staff. My job is very physical and my neck and shoulders always need a lot of attention. Normally I ask for massage therapists to dig deep and release all my tension. Tried to book this appointment online several times and they were booked a least for a month. I thought that was great news, that I could expect a great experience. I only booked because I received a gift card. The gift card was for $75 and I booked a 1 hour massage. The massage was $125. I had to schedule with a live person since my husband and I were trying to get an appointment at the same time. We requested the massages to be DEEP pressure. When my massage therapist walks in she informs me that she sees I requested deep pressure but she can only do light to medium. She can try to do firm at best or I can reschedule. She also advises that if I don't like the pressure at anytime I can notify the front and they will gladly refund me. When the massage is over, it was not a 1 hour massage, but more like 45 minutes. My therapist asks how was the pressure and I said the beginning pressure was good but the rest was not firm. Then when I check out, I was not asked if I enjoyed my massage. I explained to the girl that I asked for deep pressure and my therapist didnt even offer that. So I felt brushed off and I just paid and left. But paying $50 out of pocket and $20 tip for a mediocre massage was NOT worth it. These are spa prices without the spa. I don't think I can patronize this business again. read more

She educated me about skin care and product knowledge along the way. She made me laugh as we talked about our own personal lives and how similar we were. My masseuse was Sasha she was nice and quiet didn't speak to me much other than to make sure the pressure wasn't to much, ask me if I needed water and if the temperature on the bed was warm enough for me. My appointment was for 7:00pm I was in the room on my back by 7:08pm and my massage lasted 50 minutes they tell you that for a hour massage they allow 10 minutes for you to undress and redress so keep that in mind when you go there. Nice clean facility did not hear any noises outside of my room but I do think they book one right after the other so I'm just sayin... PLEASE NOTE: I get massages A LOT because I am in a stressful job so I like to be pampered and NOT rushed... I like the music to be relaxing and soothing... Every therapist is different but after a few tries I found two great therapists. Suzanne is awesome. She is great and finding knots that you didn't even realize were a problem and I get so relaxed when she's working on me that I often fall asleep. Henry is also GREAT, especially with sports related soreness. The setting is peaceful and quiet, adjustable lighting and heated massage tables that have adjustable heat settings. I have also been to the one in LaVerne for a facial with Stacia and she was great. The better thing to do if you sign up is to sign up at a location where the monthly fee is $59. I believe LaVerne costs $69/month. You can use your monthly massage OR get a facial without paying any extra if you are already a $59/month member elsewhere. If you go there for the additional services per month though you will pay more ($49 instead of $39, etc.) I would say the fees are comparable to what you'd pay at most places that do mostly massage. A true day spa with other services would chare more, but $60 is about the average for most place I've been if you are a regular without a coupon read more

Ok so let's get into it. I needed a massage bad due to stress and tension building up in my neck and shoulders. I went to the massage envy website and was able to book a same day appointment. I get to the location and as soon as I open the door I am greeted by a wonderful, lovely woman named Amanda. When I walked in Amanda said "Eboni?" I loved that because she already knew who I was and it made me feel special . Amanda takes me immediately to a private area. We run through the questions that are necessary prior to the massage. Once she's done with the questions she informed me that my massage therapist, Miguel will be with me shortly. I waited no more than five minutes before Miguel showed up. We go to the room and he prepares me for my massage. My massage was amazing. Miguel is the best. I left out feeling so good and so relaxed. I couldn't wait for my next appointment. When I get back to the front desk, Amanda is there with another lovely wonderful person Adrian. They asked how my massage was and I informed them that it was amazing. We laughed. We joked, we laughed, we talked. The communication and the customer service that they displayed was marvelous. It was like catching up with old friends even though we just met. In the end I signed up for a membership just so I can see their lovely faces again. Lol. No seriously. The massage was great the customer service was even greater. I had a horrible experience at this location with a male therapist and after emailing the location to let them know about my experience and concerns, I felt like the manager talked to me and understood where I was coming from. She said she would refund my hour and understood that I wouldn't be returning to this location because I don't want to run into him in the hallway. She also said he would be retrained. But today I went to another location to use my hour and I was only refunded 30 minutes and they said it had to be used in the upland location!!! Wonderful first time experience overall. Very nice, clean, relaxing environment. My grandma and I were greeted & checked in by Kiki who was very kind, friendly, professional & helpful. My massage therapist was Manny. He made me feel very comfortable and he has a great sense of humor. The pressure he used was perfect & he made sure to check in with me to make sure the pressure and movements were ok. He was able to relieve so much tension and pain - I'm really grateful for that. After my massage I was assisted by Samantha who let me know what problem areas I have according to Manny's evaluation and the treatment plan they recommend for me. What a wonderful, relaxing place! The minute I walked in there was a calming feeling. I would swear the receptionist even whispered, lol. It is a nice grey color with overstuffed chairs, it smells good and it is quiet. Boy did I need that. I came to relax and felt the world dropping off my shoulders the minute I entered. It was my first time at a Massage Envy. Janna took me into the quiet alcove to complete the "paperwork," which ended up to be just a few questions that SHE completed for me on her I Pad. What a relief. I was expecting pages and pages on a clip board that I would need to complete. After my terrific massage (with lavender oil!) I sat with Janna to see what was available for my future. Ends up they have facials, muscle stretching, a cool machine that can gently "pound" your muscles, and a lot more wellness stuff. I signed up to come every month (how about every other day? ) It was never a high pressure thing. I wanted to know what was available and I asked the questions. This was one of the best things I have done for myself in a long time. So worth it and especially in such a nice environment. BTW I have not been able to lift my arms very high for about a month due to tightness. I thought I had arthritis or something was very wrong. I popped in recently for a facial and massage, and was reminded of the "sales-y" nature and disengenuous service. The front desk team plays 20 questions over the phone, then bombards you with those same 20 questions at check in. My mom was nice enough to let me use some of her massage hours. We got a one hour massage and then in 30 minute facial. I had Jacqueline for the massage and to be very honest she was very light handed. It kind of felt like she basically just put lotion on me over and over again. She asked what my focus spot would be and I said my neck and shoulders, she didn't touch my neck or shoulders. It was nice to relax in a quiet room but I definitely didn't feel like I got a massage. I don't remember the name of the person my mom had but she said that the lady focused on only one side of her back, barely did her legs, and the day after she was extremely sore and felt bruised. I had Kat for the facial and she was awesome! That is where the stars are going towards. She was knowledgeable and explained everything she was doing. I had the worst massage of my life yesterday at Massage Envy in Upland, CA. It was mediocre at best. The female therapist used one hand to massage one shoulder at a time, she didn't spent more than 30 seconds on each hand, she was afraid to touch my thighs, (my knee caps got a good massage), and she never touched my toes. I paid extra for Aromatherapy thinking that they would have some sort of fragrant mist going in the room, but NO, I was wrong. It consisted of a drop of lavender oil placed in the lotion used. I smelled it for the first 5 seconds of the massage when she added to the lotion and that was it. I have had better experiences in Mexico. Never will I darken there doors again. read more

I have membership with Massage Envy and getting billed $ 60 monthly but for some reason everytime I make an appointment they call me next morning and they say that they cannot accommodate cause the therapist I got scheduled called sick and this incident happened at least 3 times all I can think they take my money and they just don't want to give the service I tried to contact the corporate office to file a complaint never been able to reach they are too busy to answer the phones and after I leave a message they never call you back I think even 1 star is to much for the unreliable crappy service and the attitude they give you. Let me start by saying that I've been going to this location for years as I used to be a member. I recently decided not to continue with my membership but still occasionally go to get a facial. My usual esthetician Lorena was not available today so I had someone else do my facial, I can't remember her name. Just FYI Lorena is amazing! She always addressed my concerns and was just great to me and my skin. If you go to this location ask for her. Anyways I was very clear what my problem area was and that my face felt congested and needed extractions in that area. She literally rushed through everything and was on my problem area for maybe 2 minutes. I'm completely disappointed, my face looks exactly like it did when I walked in. Not to mention they charged me the non member rate of 100 dollars for 1 hour. I might as well should have thrown that money away. read more

Second time in a row that I set an appointment well in advance and was canceled at the last minute. First time, they booked the appointment for the wrong time. We even confirmed the desired time on the phone, then they called us hours before our appointment telling us we were late. Second time, the massage therapist was sent home sick and they called me hours before to cancel my appointment, stating they had no other availabilities for the day. I understand things happen, but in both situations, I made the effort to make an appointment well in advance and it seemed like Massage Envy made no effort to try to fix things and get another therapist to fill in. It was simply, "sorry, your appointment is canceled. Feel free to make an appointment for another day." If I didn't have credits on an account, I'd simply go somewhere else.
