I booked a relaxing massage for myself for my birthday. I used to be a member a while back (of a different location) and stoped because of quality of masseuses. That's important to know because when I rebooked I just wanted to try things back out at massage envy to think about coming again. My massage was different than any other massage I've ever gotten and I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, I'm going to wait on how my body feels later but it def wasn't what I expected. I had Steven. It was a ton of "press and hold" on top of a sheet & stretching my neck different ways... then when it finally got to be the skin part lotion was used instead of a massage oil(???). Massage Envy was my first real massage. I started with a one hour session plus a 10-minute "rapid tension relief." I was a little skeptical of the rapid tension relief, because it looked like they'd just be using a regular massage gun. (Why should I pay extra for someone to use something you can buy off Amazon and use yourself?) Let me tell you, it was worth it. These professionals use the massage gun in ways you or I could never. And, of course, they are great massaging with their hands, too. The service staff is super friendly. For my first appointment, someone at reception walked me through the whole process and reassured me about every step. They also told me a little about Brain (who would be my massage provider). When it was time, I went to a private room and Brain and I talked for a minute before he stepped out to let me undress and get under the sheet. He knocked before reentering and we started the massage. It was heavenly. You can request different pressure levels, and I wanted (needed) a deep massage, and Brian delivered. It hurt at times, but in a good way. He also reassured me I could ask him to go lighter or stop at any time. Even during a deep massage, I felt like I could fall asleep I was so relaxed. When it was over, I went back up front to pay and they told me about the membership. It was such a good deal, I'm now a proud M.E. member and have been two more times. I just started coming to this massage envy location as finding a deep tissue massage therapist on the weekends was difficult at another branch. Mouaad is the only massage therapist I have tried at the Vienna location and he is amazing. As I have a sensitive neck which can cause me pain if the massage therapist does not know what they are doing, it is my litmus test for proficiency. Mouaad always asks if the pressure is ok and he really works out my sore spots effectively. As he works weekends and is off Mondays and Tuesdays, his schedule works great for me. If you like having conversations while getting a massage he also is good at that too and next part is he doesn't stop massaging while he is talking like some other therapists I know. I never have trouble finding parking and it is in a great location with other small shops to include eateries and gourmet grocery store. read more

I can't say enough good things about this location and in particular massage therapist Mouaad. He is simply incredible, and I have tried many different therapists to compare to ranging from Massage Envy locations out of state as well as other locations in the northern Virginia area. He is very intuitive, skillful, and such a nice person. He remembers little details like if you just had a marathon last month as well as injuries and sore spots to either work on or avoid. I really look forward to going to him and my body feels aligned for several weeks after an appointment. I can't imagine going to anyone else but I've heard that there are a lot of great therapists at this particular location (my husband has tried a few for deep tissue), so definitely worth giving this location a try. read more

Mr. Wei Li is amazing. His approach to massage wasn't necessarily "gentle", but it was EFFECTIVE. I went in with a lot of emotional stress and neck/jaw tightness, and he found the root of the tightness and targeted the area thoroughly, using his knowledge in acupressure points. My whole nervous system felt different afterwards, for days. (More relaxed, improved mood.) He definitely knows his stuff! read more

What the hell!! Made an appt. chose Matt for today's appointment, booked online, I show you and the person at the desk kept saying I was Juliette! Nope. Not at all. Never have been. I fill out yet another form. Checks me in. Another person comes in named Jennifer. She also has an appt at 2 on with Matt. He kept saying he texted me the Covid form. Never got it. Because he texted it to Juliette, remember her? Yeah. Juliette is not here! Jennifer is also not in the system although she has bought packages. But Matt comes out and takes Jennifer in because I, Claudia or Juliette, now don't have an appt. of course I had to say "sooooo, since Jennifer just went in at 2 pm with Matt, what happens with my appointment?". He looks again in the system and insists I'm Juliette. Nope. Still not Juliette. I got up! My plan of having a relaxed hour of massage out the window. More stressed out than when I walked in. Would give them zero stars if I could! Unprofessional and unreliable! Booked a massage for my wife at this location for mother's day. Even though I had received a text confirming the appointment that day, when she got there she was notified that she needs to reschedule. Not only did she not get an apology for cancelling last minute, she was faced with an extremely poor mannered unprofessional receptionist who disrespected her and attacked her for being upset about the situation. We even talked to the owner who assured her "they would make it right" yet no follow-up. They are never getting our business again. EDIT: Henry - thanks for your response. My wife never demanded to be serviced that day, she just expected the common curtesy to at least be apologetic about this inconvenient cancellation and not just hear "well I can't control everyone". She had to leave our 3 week old infant with a babysitter to get to this appointment and your staff had known about the cancellation due to a "family emergency" from 4pm the day before (according to the receptionist), yet no one told us! Also, my phone number was the one on file and neither me nor my wife have ever received a single voicemail from anyone from your business. I will say that the negative experience my wife had was mainly due to the poor attitude of the receptionist, not knowing how to appropriately and respectfully interact with customers. read more

I have had many massages in my life and Matthew is one of the best. He has a natural instinct to know where I am in pain and gives the best foot massage too! Matthew was phenomenal. I've had a lot of massages at many Massage Envy's and other places, and this was the best massage I've ever had. I don't know where Matthew went to school but kudos to them and him. He really knows all the muscles, their striations, their origins and insertions. He really knew how to work them so that they loosened up. And he was very polite and soothing when he spoke to me and confirmed pressure and if I was comfortable with specific parts of my body being massage. I was so satisfied I booked a second massage for the following week. The front desk staff was extremely friendly, polite, and so helpful. I'm very happy with this location and pleased I can make this my new permanent location to go to. Considering the times were in I should note the facility was very clean and complies with CDC standards and everything apparent to be very clean and sanitized. I had a great experience this morning at massage envy in Vienna, it was my first time at any massage envy location. When I arrived Hunter at the front desk was very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all my questions. However the only negative experience here was that I was told my gift card was fake even though it wasn't. The woman looked at it, didn't even try to process it and just told me it was fake. It was a gift so I didn't know any better but a few hours later I called back and ended up getting a refund for the amount I paid since they didn't apply the GC. Quang was my masseuse and he was amazing! One of the best massages I've ever had, it was very relaxing and he had the perfect amount of pressure. I've been going to ME in Vienna for 2 years for facials and Ms. Hengameh is one of the best esthetician I've been to. She is genuine, caring and very knowledgeable. Her technique is great, she is very attentive to your type of skin. And the supplementary massages are delightful. Over the last two years my skin has improved greatly due to my regular month facial with Ms. Hengameh and a more informed at-home regular routine (Ms. Hengameh explained to me about my skin and which treatment would work best for me). Like many, I have mixed feelings on ME. The massages have always been good, and I always feel bad for talking bad on the chain because the actual providers are kind people who strive to do a good job. However, the front desk people are inept and shady. I just realized that that someone at this location signed my wife up a year ago, without our knowledge, under my account, using my credit card. This amounts to a gross misappropriation of my credit card information, and is probably a felony. I realized today that this had happened, and called in, asking to speak to a manager. By the way, I think every single person who answers the phone is a "manager." I explained the situation to her, and she said she's not sure if there's anything she can do. I asked to speak with the general manager, who WAS able to assist me. She confirmed that it looked like my wife had been signed up with my credit card information, but there was (obviously) no note or contract on file. She pointed out that management had changed over the last few months, and she had been brought in to ensure that the location's practices were above board. I applaud Renee (the GM) for fixing the issue (full refund for 13 months of charges) without giving me too much of a hard time about it. I'm not giving one star because I believe her when she says this is not indicative of how this location will be run; but if the old management was still there I assure you this would be a 1-star review for a 1-star location. read more

After reading all the great reviews of this location I decided to give it a try. Well, I'm not impressed at all. The good: friendly staff, helpful front desk and clean rooms from what I can tell. Only reason why I did not give a 1 star review. The bad: my therapist Nick cannot follow simple instructions after I have repeated 3 times. I told him to work out the knots and stress in my shoulders and neck (I filled out my initial paperwork just the same). He massaged my middle back for at least 20 minutes. I told him to stop and go work on my shoulders and neck - he would listen for less than 5 minutes and then went back to working my middle back. He stopped the "One hour" session at 48 minutes. When I asked why it's not the full hour.. he gave me some bs that the "full hour" of massage means 5 mins of filling out paperwork at the beginning and 5 mins of talking to front desk to schedule for followup session. Uh.. so why did I come in 10 mins early to fill out my paperwork? And honestly why would I come back for a follow up if I'm so unhappy with the first one. read more

I just had a massage in this morning with a lady who was Juddy or Judge (she didn't give me her name when I asked her, so I had to ask the service) I filled the paper that I want a light not medium or deep, but she hurt me so bad event I said to her that's hurt and be gentle many many time, but after few seconds she keeped hurting me, and she trarted to taking to me and asked me about my personal life too much ( I thought that massage is for relaxing) Now I have a bruise on my shoulder. If you're someone who enjoys frequent or routine massages, this place would be a great one to go to. Prices are very reasonable, staff is pleasant and professional, and the therapists get the job done. No real bells and whistles here - but you'll get a pretty good massage at a decent price. I get massages maybe 2 times a year just to pamper myself, so I really do enjoy all of those bells and whistles I pay a pretty penny for at the higher-end spas. I need all that silly eucalyptus-rainwater-zen ambiance. And the quality of the massage is a bit different as well. So for me, Massage Envy wasn't everything I was hoping for, but I did enjoy my visit. The therapist was great about getting the knots out of my shoulders and stretching my limbs. And I liked the scalp and temple massage. I would definitely recommend this place to those who just want a straight forward no frills massage. You can't beat the price. read more

I went to this location just over a week ago for a firm massage to work out some pain in my lower back. After the initial soreness subsided I felt okay throughout most of my back. Unfortunately, I was left with a terrible pain near my scapula that persists more than a week later with no signs of lessening. I'm not sure what went wrong, but i went in for some mild pain relief and left with more issues than i started with! I am very disappointed, especially since I requested the appointment focus on my lower back, and now i ended up with awful pain in my upper back that limits my range of motion. I'm hoping the pain gets better soon :( I had been here for a more relaxing swedish massage previously with no issues. read more

I had never been to a massage envy before and this place came out in results when I was looking for a facial and a massage after work last Wednesday. This was the only place open at 6pm and I had no problem getting appointments with both, the esthetician and the massage therapist (Alex). The massage: I'm not very easy to convince... I have been spoiled by some foreign spas but this session was GOOD! Al the stress knots in my neck and back are still gone two days later and it's feels great. The facial: fine. Again I've been around and my favorite is thousands of miles out, but Nikki did a great job at treating my capricious skin. The place: very clean, organized, adequate lighting, low level of noise, and the massage tables have heaters (big plus) Staff: super friendly. They talk to you in a low voice that fits with the soothing atmosphere at massage envy. The 5th star is due to the fact that it's compatible with my hours. I don't need to take a day off work to get a massage or loose a weekend for a massage... Negative: they really push hard to sell the M.. Products. read more

I've been to the Massage Envy location in Sterling on several occassions, but not recently. After checking reviews on Yelp of all the nearby locations it was clear that the Vienna franchise was receiving the highest marks and fewest complaints (check out the reviews for some of those sites). The day after Christmas I called to schedule an appointment. After discussing my needs with the person who answered (Chris) I was able to book a same-day appoinment (albeit during a weekday). Upon arrival I was greeted courteously, completed the necessary medical release forms, and was led to their client waiting area. My massage therapist came out promptly and after a discussion of my needs and past massage experiences she provided an excellent deep tissue massage. Upon its' conclusion all the tension in my shoulders had been alleviated. She made treatment recommendations for any subsequent visits and thanked me for my visit. Afterwards working with Hakim and the store manager, Camille, I set up a 6 month membership and booked my next appointment (with the same massage therapist) for February. I highly recommend the Vienna location. Excellent customer service, very reasonable prices, a clean, convenient location, and best of all, excellent massage talent! Enjoy! read more

I have been to Massage Envy Vienna 3 times now and ready to give them a great review! The first time I did a hot stone massage. While I did like it, I felt like a bit too much of my massage time was wasted on preparing the stones and whatnot (had not experienced this delay at other places). However, the massage was good, so I had a positive experience. The next 2 times I was with Carrie D! I give Carrie 5 stars! I have A LOT of tension and tightness in my shoulders to the extent of actual pain setting in. Carrie did a great job of working on the area through a series of what she called stretching the muscles. It was not stretches per say, but a great approach to working out my tightness without lots of pain. I really appreciate someone who can do a great firm massage and not cause extreme pain. Other comments - Front staff are always friendly. All areas are clean. Therapists have always been on time. read more

Massage Envy's Vienna location receives a rating of 3 stars based on the front-desk service, the ambiance and the overall experience. The massage itself as well as the massage therapist I see, Andra, get 5 stars to be sure! I've been coming here for a little over a year now and I will say it is quite convenient and I adore Andra. Her massages really are superb and I always leave feeling completely relaxed! I should add that I am relaxed UP UNTIL I go back to the front to check out; I have had some odd dealings with the front-desk staff. Some of the employees just lack personality and the majority of them don't have the decency to say "be right with you" if they are currently helping another customer. Not a HUGE deal but if I am dropping around $80+ (tip included), it might be nice to be treated with just a smidge more respect. I also should not have to push to make another appointment; if I had to come up with an explanation for some of the staff, I would say it probably stems from a lack of proper training. I am also not entirely in love with the idea that Massage Envy is such a massive chain. It will, however, suffice for the time being: one simply cannot put a price tag on 50 minutes of pure relaxation every few weeks! read more

I've been going to the Vienna Massage Envy for over a year now, and have definitely enjoyed it. Ben at the front desk remembers my wife and I and greets us by name every time, he's also super friendly and helpful with our sometimes last minute requests. My wife and I have seen a few different mt's here and all have been good, but we definitely have our favorites. I'm a deep tissue guy and Andra is perfect at working out deep tension. I've even had a facial there and while I don't think a facial is ever quite as relaxing as a massage mine was conducted expertly, the environment was quiet and relaxed, and the esthetcian was very friendly to boot. read more

What a disaster! We had a 5pm appointment on 2/14 and had called and said we would be 5 minutes late. We were and had to spend 15 minutes doing paperwork. The massage rooms are dirty, sheets aren't changed, carpet has holes and the environment is not at all conducive to relaxation. The therapist was more interested in trying to sell new products than providing quality service. We were still kept to our 1 hour appointment so this was wrapped up at 550 and we actually got only 30 minutes of service! We were charged the full hour rate. Not going back. Ever. And this being our first experience at a massage envy, we won't be visiting another one. read more
