Idk why these reviews are talking about salons. This review is for Massage Envy at the Hammock Landing. I've been getting massages for years. This was by FAR the worst massage I've EVER had. The room I thought had a strong smell when I stepped in. So they changed rooms. Then when I go into the second room with the massage therapist I realized it WASN'T the room. It was the worst filthy smell I've ever been near. Not to mention I am allergic to dust and I couldn't hardly breathe in the room bc of the dust on the carpet. They must never clean it. The girl was at my feet and I literally put my head up twice to see if she fell asleep. Come in if I'm getting a massage why would it seem like they fell asleep with her hand on my foot? It was the laziest massage I've ever had. Didn't touch my arms. Only did the outside of my legs. When I told her I needed extra attention ruin to my feet and hands..... it clearly meant nothing...... bc she was napping. Low class and disgusting. Two of the employees have scabs and sores on their arms. This is NOT a professional atmosphere. I couldn't wait to get home and shower! I have been a 2x/month client for years but today I am cancelling my membership. I called the front desk on Wednesday to cancel my Friday appointment. But I got a call from Eliani on Friday telling me that they were charging me for the missed appointment that I had called to cancel. Apparently they had forgotten to cancel the appointment when I'd called on Wednesday. I also spoke to the Member Concierge, Becca. about how hard it was to rebook appointments (it takes about 3-4 weeks) and told her I was considering cancelling because of the lack of available thereapists. She said they are having trouble getting staff to come into work. That didn't sound good to me. When I explained the mistake I was TOLD that I had never cancelled the appointment. I replied that the only reason I'd made the outgoing call at 9:14 am was to cancel the appointment. I stayed on the phone trying to see if I could book with someone else later in the future. I absolutely resented their implication that I was lying about the incident, and that they intended to charge me for THEIR MISTAKE. I became increasingly annoyed at the self-righteous scolding I received by Eliani AND Becca, who repeatedly told that it was my fault and that they had called me on Thursday to confirm the appointment. My phone log shows no incoming call from them on Thursday. To make matters worse, there was some kind of passive-aggressive satisfaction in their voices as they applied this punitive charge. Becca threatened to end the call because shet didn't like what I was saying. It seemed like it was ok for her to be upset but I was not allowed to be equally upset. Threatening to charge a client for their mistake and threatening to hang up on someone who is lodging a valid complaint is an outrageous way to treat a loyal and regular client. I don't think Becca has any concept of what a Member Concierge is supposed to do. I can say with certaintly that Client Retention is NOT high on her list so I felt I could get nowhere with her. Intending to go over her head, I asked for the regional manager's name and was told all calls would all be rerouted back to her because each location is independently managed. Hmmm, it appears she is unsupervised and there is no way to elevate these concerns. I recommend you skip this location and go somewhere else. read more

I am new to the area and attempted to book an appointment with Massage Envy. After spending at least an hour trying to register on the Massage Envy website, I decided to call the number it recommend for the closest one to me. When I showed up to the one I thought I had booked, they informed me I had booked at a location 20+ minutes away. I asked if they had any appointments, they indicated the first available was 30 August (mind you this was 8 July). While I was standing there a person calls in and requests a massage appointment. The clerk offered a 60 minute appt at noon or a 90 minute at 1:30PM. When I questioned why, the clerk stated that is only for existing members. I went to my car and called the other store to let them know I was not close to them and I could not make the appt. The clerk at this store told me I could still come out there for my appt. and get the majority of the time. When I indicated I was not interested in paying for a 90 minute appt and only getting a 60 minute massage. She quickly stated that I had confirmed the appointment and they could charge me anyway. She charged me the full amount of $180. For not showing up to the appointment. Mind you I've never signed anything authorizing them to charge my card if I missed an appointment or agreed to it verbally. Stay away from this location!!! read more

So I had an appointment today and the girls that were working in the front office were terrible, talking about having an attitude if it wasn't because I had an appointment if it wasn't for the amazing massage therapist, I would never return to this location. I walked in yesterday for info. Was content with the terms of contract and terms for membership, so signed up. $60/mth for a massage and only $40 for additional hour sessions if needed. Great prices!!! Had my first appt. with Stephanie today and was very happy with the outcome. She found areas that I had no idea that need worked, and was not gentle (per request) with working on knots/stress. She did things to me that I have never experienced before and found tension in places that I had no idea existed! The only complaint I have is when laying on the table in session - face up - a mask is required. Don't get me wrong, I do understand the policy is in place for safety. However, when getting a massage one must BREATHE due to the pain incurred. Alas, it was tough to do so with the mask on. Overall, very satisfied and recommended. read more

I would give this no stars if it was possible based upon the horrific customer service alone!!! I booked an appointment online for a massage but due to an emergency that the therapist had, they called to reschedule it. I did not get the message; however I do understand that things come up and I certainly understand that emergencies are a priority. That is not my issue. My issue is the customer service-- it is deplorable! The front desk receptionist was rude, abrasive and raised her voice at me. One two occasions I told her not to raise her and speak to me that way. I explained to her what customer service is, and that her behavior and reaction was not an acceptable form of customer service. I told her that they had lost a customer and her response was "okay." Massage envy is a chain. It is overpriced and and average to good massage. It is not great, and there are countless other spas in the area with far superior customer service and are less expensive. I do not recommend this place at all and will never patronize this place again. I work way too hard for my money to have an average massage and such unbelievably rude service. My recommendation? Stay away at all cost! Despite the response from Massage Envy, I am well aware of the location of this particular massage envy and I did not get the location wrong. read more

My grandson had brought me a gift card for my for my birthday. When I called to make appointment, they asked me for my credit card or bank card. I was not comfortable with that, so I refused to give them my information. I asked to speak to (Office manger Becka ?) . I explained that I have a gift card and would like to make appt. She stated that I can not make appt until I gave them my CR or BC. That did not go over very well with me. So I asked if I could redeem the card and get the cash that my grandson paid for. Of course, She stated that NO, that is also their policy that they do not redeem the card for cash. That is totally bogus. So I have a gift card that I can not do anything with, because I will not give up my banking information.. I would NEVER recommend this place to NO ONE. Do not ever purchase a Gift card from here. WHAT A JOKE. definitely would give -0 stars if i could. my mom and i came to get a massage. and when we were filling out the survey I marked that I was a minor because I'm 14 turning 15 in FIVE DAYS. when my mom called to make the appointment she made sure to tell them my age and they said it was not a concern. now I'm unable to get my massage because apparently I have to be in the room with my mom. horrible communication on their part. and a worker there tried to have us have only a 60 minute back to back massages when our appointment was 90 minutes. And it made no sense at all because my mom would just have to sit there for 60 minutes well I got a massage because she has to be in the room. absolute horrible service. will NOT be coming back again. I have been a member of Massage Envy in Louisville, KY at St. Matthews location and received excellent therapies and customer service. I moved to Melbourne, Florida in December and have used Massage Envy of West Melbourne a few times. I have received excellent massage and facials at this location. The customer service, however, has not been so excellent. I received a phone call out of the blue last evening from a service representative wanting my credit card information over the phone. I explained that this is a security issue and I did not know why she needed this information over the phone. I was just there in April and gave them my card and completed paperwork to transfer my membership. Tonight, I receive a phone call that says "private line" from Becka, also wanting my credit card over the phone. Again, I explained that this is a security issue. Beware of giving private information over the phone to someone soliciting you. I will follow up with the owner/manager of this salon. I want to stress that the services for massage and facials were excellent. The therapist are well trained and professional. It is the customer service representatives that are not trained well.
