For months I've been complaining about my sore muscles and how I need someone to really do a deep tissue massage on me. I prefer males just because I had a creepy experience with a female I'd rather not conjure up. I was tired of the massages I had been receiving lately. They were too "fru fru" and seemed to focus on not seeing your boobs, rather than really dealing with the problem: THAT I WAS FRIGGIN' SORE! I decided no more polite deep tissue massages. I needed a SPORTS MASSAGE. I booked the massage with "Troy". He was a good looking guy dressed more business casual then the usual spa scrubs I see and he wore dress shoes that made noise when he walked. He quadruple-checked with me the type of massage I was getting as if there might have been a mistake. After I said yes he said to me. "Are you ready for this? I just want you to know this isn't a joke." I laughed thinking he was just ice-breaking, but when he repeated that same question two more times I gulped in fear. I laid on my back first and he massaged my shoulders. OMG! My mind raced to when I trained shoulders last. I could feel the muscle fibers that were torn in the gym reviving by his strong fingers. It was painful, but more like a healing pain. Easy day right? Now lower body. Before he started he felt the need to give me another disclaimer. He said, "Ok Oona, I'm gonna really need you to breathe for this next part." I laughed, and he didn't. Like the sound of thunder, he immediately smacked his hands together like Mr. Miagi on "The Karate Kid". I watched in horror as he closed his eyes and began to inhale. "Oh Sh*#." I thought. "What is he about to do?" Was the upper body just a test to see if I could handle what was to come? He exhaled and looked straight ahead like no one else was in the room. He was in a zone! From that moment on for the next 60 minutes---my muscles were the enemy! He clamped his hands together, interlocked his fingers and gained momentum as he landed his sharp elbows into my knots. WTF?! That's a wrestling move! I cried out in pain! He evoked the spirit of the late Bruce Lee and found trigger points that only Mr. Lee would know about! "Troy" used all his weight to press down on me. I could hear his dress shoes sliding on the tile as he dug deep. I kept crying out to Jesus but even he couldn't help me! I learned quickly that if I cried out he would go back over those tendons! In fear, I tried desperately to bite down on the linen to silence myself but it never worked. I was now on my stomach. Like the Kama Sutra, he stood behind me, took my leg and bent it over his shoulder until my feet nearly touched my head--exposing a severely stretched muscle. With his elbow he slowly dug deep into the quadriceps tendon. I tapped out hitting my hand over and over on the table. It didn't stop him. He told me to breathe and continued. I told him I couldn't go on without a stress ball--or something! He opened a drawer, pulled out two black smooth stones and put them in each of my hand. Without missing a beat he continued to pull, stretch, knead, and DIG deep into my muscles and tendons. Whoever was in the room next to me must have wondered what was going on? I was moaning, whining, sighing, and cursing. Did someone think we were making a porn?! "Troy" was silent the whole time. He was breathing hard as well, had the nerve to be sweating, and in a serial pummeling trance. There was no stopping him! I was also sweating and praying my 90 minutes was up soon. Troy left nothing untouched. He massaged every part of my body except the areas that were CLEARLY off limits. Who would of thought a glute massage would be so painful?! He took his elbow and like a large pointy spoon "stirred the pot" repeatedly into my gluteus maximus. Still, he continued to tell me to breathe. Hell! That's all I could do! He finished by massaging my neck and trying to end the session in a relaxed state but there was no relaxing! Things had gone too far and I was traumatized. He asked me how I felt. Without hesitation I said tiredly, "Like...I've been in a...UFC cage fight." He laughed and told me to drink plenty of water because I was going to be sore tomorrow. I left feeling weird like Bill Cosby just made me a Coke on the rocks. I couldn't explain it but I had no words. It was similar to that damn colonic I had months ago. I now had a new acronym for a Sports Massage: SadoMasochist! I ended up tipping "Troy" the maximum preferred tip. He really did his job. As painful and torturous as it was, he left no muscle behind and I honestly got what I asked for--and then some! I was sore like he said, but once that wore off my body felt....agile. As much as I praise the final results I've yet to book another appointment. In fact I let two months slip by because honestly---I'm afraid! Ryan should get a raise because really he is the only therapist worth their weight. You have some decent ones, but when it comes to deep tissue I went through about 5 until I found Ryan who made me feel like jello after he was done. Lucretia did the same but she left or was terminated a while ago. Really wish you could transfer massages if you're on a monthly program. I have like 7 I haven't used but my girlfriend who goes every month as well really needs the therapy. Oh and please train your front desk people a little better as they've made a few mistakes with appointment setting. I'm grateful that the confusion/mix-ups weren't held against me. It is my very first time coming to Massage Heights and very first time getting a full body massage and the whole experience was very soothing and relaxing! I feel horrible having to write such a bad review. I am a new member with this company. My first experince started of great. I was searching for a massage place to try out and become a frequent customer or member. I searched multiple places and thats how i came across massage heights. They were one of two massage places accredited by the B.B.B. I decided to give it a try. I called set up an appointment for a massage. The pricing seemed fair $50 for your first time (1hour massage) The massage was great. I left feeling healed, relaxed, and sore(sore in a good way). Before leaving I was introduced to their membership package. I was hesitant to sign up because the membership locks you in for a year, but I did want to return on a frequent bases. My choices were to sign for a membership or everytime i visit pay an additional non member fee. I chose the membership. Befor i continue I will say that the rating is not based of the quality of their massages but of the company, its services and policies, and being a customer, to forward warn future customers thinking of becoming a member (really know and understand what you are signing). After my massage and signing up as a member ($60 a month) It has taken me a while to return do to a busy schedule. I now have (or HAD) two 1hour sessions going on three. So yesterday I gave them a call and set up a appointment for this morning at 9am. I woke up, headed out and started walking to my appointment only to find out that it was pouring raining outside(just my luck. lol and I got soaked) I had to turn around. I immediatly gave them a call and left a message and called again at 9am trying to reach someone. They called me back asked if i was coming in still, I informed them about the message and what had happened. The lady said sorry but we have to take your session away still. I was livid but stayed calm trying to work something out. (When she told me that all I heard was sorry we arent giving you your 1hour massage but thanks for the $60) She was unwilling to work anything out with me, i felt like the employee and her the customer. I feel bad because I just hung up in her face to calm myself(unlike me) I did some more searching and reading of reviews and scimming my membership policy again before calling back. The membership issue seems to be a common deal with this place so be careful in doing so. Make sure that for 1year you will not have an emergency come up or something happen to were you can not make your appointment or you can kiss your hard earned money good bye! I called back spoke with Jeana, she might of even been the first lady i spoke with. I asked if there was anyway to contact the owner or have her contact me. She said no, didnt ask me any questions of it so I left it at that. This is a great place for a one time massage, but do not fall into the membership its not worth it. There are 100's of other massage places in the city just as great, or even better not to put up with what im going through. I am now stuck and so far unhappy with this place, with no options to leave and go else where. Im in it for a year, if the polices become better i will be the first to inform you all. Worst massage Ive ever had. I went in yesterday and paid 60$ what a waste. I told the lady light and less presure please. I was like she wasnt listening. Like she didnt know what the difference between light, firm and deep was. I went in yesterday because I just wanted a nice relaxed swedish massage. I was in so much pain. At times I just wanted to just get up and leave but i didnt want to hurt her feelings. I do not recommend to anyone. At one point when I was face down she was pushing it so hard that i felt the end of the bed was choking me thats crazieeee!!!!. I will never go back there again. Im so sore today. Like you know when you go work out for 4-5 hours and the next day you feel horrible well thats exactly how I feel. read more

So I called last minute and first of all I'd like to say that I'm so grateful that finally have friendly efficient people at the desk . There have been many guys and girl up there but the latest team is the best they've ever had in my opinion ! I explained what my needs were and the front desk lady (didn't get her name ) didn't just assign me anyone like they did in the past she gave me options and explained their style ! We finally agreed on Sabrina Ortiz . Sabrina was soooooooo good !!! Believe me I try many therapists and this girl is your girl for pain, inflammation and deep relaxation !! My visits here have become something I look forward to, greatly. It's very basic, get your hour, go on your way. I go to Joseph, who is great and attentive. There was confusion in my first month, and it felt like the manager was insisting that I was wrong when I explained that the associate who signed me up for the membership did not explain how the 49.99 a month worked. Basically, getting a massage anytime before the automatic withdrawal happens cost 39.99, but cannot be applied to your automatic withdrawal. You will still be charged your membership price. At which point I exclaimed it was deceptive and b*******. So it was very nice that Terry (the manager) reversed the 49.99 charge, and the following month I came at my scheduled time. The people up front are friendly and fun to talk to. I probably will renew my membership when it is time to do so. read more

Today is Valentines Day. My wife has mentioned on several occasions that she wanted to try massage with hot stone therapy. I just happened to find a Groupon for Massage Heights that included the hot stones so I bought it to surprise her on this special day. I brought her to her appointment, she got her massage & the masseuse turned the lights on at the end & walked out so that she could get dressed. We're both looking at each other like ummm there was no hot stones. Upon leaving we mentioned that she left out the hot stones. She said she usually asks but forgot & apparently the person at the front failed to put it on our order even though it was requested when I ordered & confirmed with me beforehand. So We mentioned it to the ladies at the front desk & they told us since it was "just a free add on" & it was bought through Groupon they couldn't really refund anything but would honor another discounted Groupon price to get them done on another visit. If it were an ordinary regular day I would've obliged but for Christ Sakes it's VALENTINES DAY! You guys screwed up her moment, we don't get another Vday until next year. Had it not been for the hot stones we wouldn't have even bothered coming. I feel like we wasted our time & were brushed off because THEY dropped the ball. It may have just been a "small addon" to them but it would've been everything for her on this day...not tomorrow or next week. The massage was good but I'm not sure I'd recommend this location or this place at all. There are too many other massage places around town that are more attentive and pay attention to "small" details as little as they may be. We were not happy in the end. Although it says 1 hour massage, my appt was at 2:30, I was there right on time & was taken back to the room about 8 or so minutes later, then had a quick talk & changed, so massage started about 2:45 then when she left room after massage, the clock showed 3:23. I just had the best massage today! I came in to get a 90 min massage and I was brought back into this very comfy room. The Massage Therapist was Carmalita (don't know if I spelled that correctly), but she was awesome. I let her know some areas that were bothering me, but ultimately I was there just to relax and unwind. We started the massage with me face up, which usually it's down. She focused on the areas I asked her to and I was completely relaxed even caught someone snoring in the room, but I quieted her down lol!! Just kidding! Best 90 minutes wish it could last all day!
