Had a horrible experience with a very rude manager named LaShonda who denied service based on a made up 'policy'. Buyers beware.

Went here for a 90 minute prenatal massage. I was greeted by the front desk who was friendly and helpful when walking me through the intake questionnaire. I met the massage therapist who was also very kind and friendly. They had me lay on my side for the massage. However, they only spent about 10-15 minutes on each side and didn't address my concerns in my lower back or shoulders much. There was very little pressure and just light rubbing. Then the massage therapist got to my feet. I was taken aback because he spent at least 45 minutes to an hour massaging my feet. I'm not exaggerating. at times I would look down and he wasn't even really massaging, just holding my feet. I can't believe I spent as much money as I did to get an hour foot "massage". The staff is friendly but pushes the membership. After that, I was not interested in signing up. Please look elsewhere for a prenatal massage. Edited to add- I've tried calling a few times like they asked in their response and haven't gotten a call back. Even after leaving a message. They don't seem to really care. read more

I have been a member of Massage Heights for several years in Houston (Towne Lake). Recently I had the opportunity to visit the Massage Heights location in Lenexa, Kansas. I made the appointment in advance for the upcoming Saturday. I decided I wanted to try the Gua Sha so I called Friday afternoon before my appointment and spoke with the front desk who stated it was not too late to add this service and I was assured it had been added to my upcoming Saturday visit. We did speak at length regarding Gua sha for face and body and it's benefits for about 10 minutes. Saturday comes and I am at the Lenexa location. I was greeted by name and sat to wait for the massage therapist. Once in the room (highly different than the Houston locations) I was asked about what I expected from my massage. Of course, I stated I was looking forward to having the Gua Sha experience only to find out my massage therapist does not do Gua Sha. So, we proceed back to the front desk only to have the young lady at the desk tell me the Gua Sha service had not been added and I would receive a regular 90 minute massage without the Gua Sha. Before I could even request perhaps another therapist's availability who could indeed do the Gua Sha or reschedule for later I was informed I would still need to pay for this visit regardless. So of course, I had the massage. Upon exiting, the young short hair lady was no longer at the front desk and the gentleman ask if I was going to pay for the Gua Sha service. I said the young lady stated the Gua Sha was not added to my account. My massage therapist could not even perform Gua Sha, so no I would not be paying extra for a service I never received. It seems somehow the Gua Sha miraculously appeared on my account after I was told it was not added to my account by the young lady. Needless to say - very disorganized. Very disappointed. I have not returned nor plan to again. One plus though - adjacent is the Perspire Sauna Studio. I walked in, signed up for their 7 day unlimited special and had a nice sweat after my massage. Never knew they existed but now I am hooked. Been there every day since. That was the only plus of that crazy mixed up day. read more

paid for a 60 min massage with an elevation and got a 45 min massage and they didn't even do the elevation at all. called to talk with someone about it since it was a birthday gift and the best they could do would if i paid for another massage they would give me a free elevation. go somewhere else. read more

The massage was great and two ladies on the couples massage we enjoyed. The billing and whoever runs it not so much. We went for my husband's birthday and did a Valentine's Day special that should have been $120 each. It needed a credit card to hold it. We finished and paid in cash and then the next morning it booked us a 3rd time on our card. We had to speak to two people that were a pain and should have noticed their error. Instead I had to bring a receipt- that I luckily ask for and emailed to us. I was told I had to drive back to the place and show them proof and deal with an issue, that they messed up. If you can't look on your system and tell how many times you booked and billed someone - you need a new system. I have worked in management since high school with over 50 years of experience and never had to deal with this, I would have them look into the people billing and see if someone is scamming. *update* the studio called and refunded the $90 upgrade fee. It was a mistake and should not have been charged. My service was outstanding! I want to point out the level of care was amazing. However, when I booked my facial I asked how much it would cost I was given a price. When I checked out there was a hidden $90 "upgrade fee". I questioned it as I didn't agree to any upgrades. Apparently it's just something they do. I felt horrible not being able to tip as much but I was not prepared for such a huge extra charge. Now I know better. I can receive facials at other places that won't charge this additional extra fee. read more

wish i could give zero stars. after a subpar massage that was started 15 minutes late and ended early, an email was sent to management. they promised they would make it up to us. then left me in the dark. after three unanswered emails, i'm done trying to get my money back or a replacement service. don't bother reaching out if you had a problem. horrible service. read more

Upon arrival I was informed the massage therapist was injured and the other therapists were booked all day. The front desk employee assured me that he would find some time in the schedule that week and contact me as soon as possible. Two weeks later, having heard nothing, I called and asked to speak to a manager. The employee that answered informed me that none were available but that she would take my name and contact information and someone would get back to me within 48 hours. I've been a Pinnacle level member since December 2014 and my retreat is College Metcalf Plaza. The franchise owners and staff are amazing and I love my massage therapist. The only downside is that they don't have Face. I've had many facials in the past at spas around the world, so I know what to expect. So I've visited this location two prior times to last night, for facials. Those were both pretty good. But last nights just wasn't up to standard. When product was applied at each application, my face was barely touched. Product wasn't massaged into skin. Towel to wipe away product barely touched my skin. Shoulder rub consisted of fingers running along my shoulders, no pressure. Was overcharged on a tip because they based it off of non-member pricing. Plus the times I've visited, there's been that undertone to switch locations even after I've made it clear that I love my location AND massage therapist, which it's hard to find someone you like. Called this AM to see if the owner would be available to talk with this afternoon and was asked what it was about. Really didn't want to get into it over the phone but it happened. A comment was made that they've never had this critique about the esthetician, as if I was being difficult or expecting too much. When I arrived the owner had left and had the discussion with the retreat director who asked that before they credited my credits back if there wasn't anything about my service that was good before they docked the esthetician 90 minutes for last night. Not something I felt they should have said as was made to make me feel guilty. Overall bad experience at this location. Otherwise I recommend Massage Heights and the College Metcalf location. UPDATE....After receiving a call from the owner of the franchise, we had a good discussion. He made it right and in the end, could have been an off day. I subscribed to Massage Heights for a couple of years. During the pandemic, they kept charging me the monthly rate. Upon inquiry, I was told I had to file paperwork to suspend my account, which at first was at no cost, but later evolved into a $10/month maintenance fee, even though I had completed my membership obligation. After being fully vaccinated for Covid, I decided to try to return this year in order to use up the hundreds of dollars of credit I had compiled. I was disappointed when the company inappropriately invoked HIPAA (which applies only to patient records from healthcare providers) as an excuse to not assure me that my therapist, with whom I would be in a closed minimally ventilated room for nearly an hour, would be vaccinated. The excuse that they don't know of any Covid cases contracted from their facility doesn't hold any water with me. I believe this is a Texas company, so their stance on vaccines is understandable. I read that Yelp is instituting a Covid policy to screen businesses which will provide customers of assurance that they will be in an environment that minimizes their risk of contracting Covid by observing relevant CDC precautions, including vaccination of employees. Don't bother looking for that certification for this business. read more

I had been experiencing reoccurring migraines after a few years of not having any. In the past, I have found that massage helped to alleviate this pain and discomfort. Fed up with my last migraine and the migraine "hangover" it causes, I was wanting to try a massage again. My schedule this week was hectic, so I was trying to find a place that could accommodate my schedule. Massage Heights peaked my interest quickly with excellent Yelp reviews, location, and, the ability to schedule online - for the same day - and with evening appointments! Score! Walking into Massage Heights was a peaceful experience. The warm smells, and dimmed lights immediately set a sense of calm. The front desk was friendly and informative - both checking in and checking out! Regulars came in, and were greeted by name and asked about happenings in their lives - very attentive. When it came time to my massage, my massage therapist inquired what brought me in and concerns I had. She was very attentive to my needs and goals for the outcome. She even explained the techniques she used and why! My only regret was that this massage was only 60 minutes! I'm really impressed with Massage Heights overall, and truly appreciate that they were not pushy about a membership, like other competition. This makes me more inclined to consider one! read more

The first time I visited Massage Heights, I had an issue with the way the ladies at the front desk handled my problem the first time I received a massage. I was very displeased with my service and the owner personally reached out to me to fix it and I really appreciated his effort to make the whole scenario right. I received a complimentary massage out of the whole mess up and WOW, Kat did an amazing job getting deep into my neck and shoulders! She rubbed out some really tight knots and I left Massage Heights feeling much looser and totally relaxed. I will be back. I have been a member for over a year, and had to cancel my membership due to moving out of the area. I wanted to give my credits to my son to use who is still in the area, but they do not allow that. I am coming back into town and wanted to used my credits, but she said the credits had expired as of 9/29/21. I think that is a very short time to use credits that I had already paid for, but she said it was part of the signed agreement. I was very happy with the membership overall, but not very happy with losing two sixty minute massages in the end. read more

I have been to this location several times and all have been good but today was exceptional. I have very tight shoulder,neck and back and Hayley worked wonders! As an added bonus the work she did on my feet was unbelievable! I have a lot of visible blood vessels and swelling due to an old ankle injury and I noticed several hours after the massage there was no swelling and the blood vessels were barely visible! I used to view massages as a luxurious and mainly unnecessary treat but after the pain in my back and shoulders got continuously worse I decided to see what getting a massage a few months in a row would do. Massage heights has not made me regret it one bit. Kylie is incredible for a deep tissue massage and has done wonders for my back and shoulders. I am a last minute booker and I have not had a problem finding something that fits in when I need it. That being said, I have also never had a bad massage. The staff is very friendly and any questions I have had are always answered within minutes. There are other massage heights locations that are closer to my house, but the extra few minutes is worth NEVER having to have a bad experience. read more

This is absolutely hands down the best massage place I've ever been. I started going here four months ago and they are amazing. I had dislocated my shoulder and went here to see if they could get the muscles to relax enough, so my chiropractor could get my shoulder to slide back into place. After 3 massages concentrating on my shoulder girdle the muscles relaxed enough that my shoulder finally slid back into place, with some coaxing from my chiropractor. I saw three different massage therapist and all took extensive notes so the others knew exactly what we had worked on and where I needed work. I asked for therapist that specialized in sports massage or deep tissue and the have several on staff. My shoulder hasn't felt this good in years. I have dislocated my shoulder 3 times in 3 years and these therapist didn't a wonderful job getting the muscles to release and heal, so my shoulder would slide back into place. The office staff are caring and know all the clients by name. They ask about my family and work and truly remember what we talked about. Highly recommend them for deep tissue, sports or relaxation massages. My husband goes to and he gets relaxation massages. We actually do couples massage. It is amusing he falls asleep and snores and you can hear my joints and muscles popping back into place. There is a therapist for every need here. read more

Edit: I have now opted to sign up for the membership after an amazing massage with Morgan. Perfect pressure, perfect stone utilization, and she cured a 3 day migraine! My experience has been nothing short of amazing here. I highly recommend Sherri if you are expecting. She gives the most personalized prenatal massage in the Midwest. She will get out every knot, kink, tension spot etc, I promise. I attribute my monthly massages to a shorter, easier labor as well. My son was earthside in less than 3 hours and my two previous pregnancies were a much different case. Bottom line is to give this place a try if you want to live a more relaxed life. read more

Scott and Barb, the owners, are great and are involved in the day to day operations and interaction with customers. The customer service is superb. The massages themselves are great.
