After a fractured ankle/leg I had a bad experience with physical therapy, I did not make much progress or receive any individualized care. I was referred to MpowerD. I was SOO happy with Tasha during my 1 hour manual therapy appointment. She carefully reviewed my injury, how it happened and what my goals of recovery were, etc. She provided me with practical stretches to use at home, proper ways of rehabbing and suggestions about support/braces for when I start playing sports again. During the session manually massaged my ankle/leg, used cupping and stretched it out. It was like a was playing for the Wizards. I was blown away with how individualized the appointment felt. It was as Tasha said "hurt so good". The range in movement after my appointment was more than I could of imagined. I came across MpowerD Massage through Thumbtack. I was looking for a massage therapist who could do out-calls in Fairfax/Chantilly. Holly put me in touch with Malyssa Howard, who is a CMT, an experienced yoga instructor and overall wellness coach. Malyssa is excellent! She is experienced in various massage techniques, including Swedish, Deep Tissue and Thai. I go to her frequently after, and sometimes before, I work out for a massage and stretching session. She is athletic herself, so she understands the needs of athletes. Every session is unique with Malyssa. She obviously asks about my particular issues or areas of concern/ pain every time, which she addresses exceptionally. But she also has her own routine, which she keeps modifying and changing all the time, applying pressure and stretching muscles I never knew I used :-) The session is often pleasantly unpredictable, and always enjoyable. I strongly recommend Malyssa to anyone, especially athletes. And I definitely now understand people's hesitation before recommending a good massage therapist, because they'd rather keep them for themselves :-) read more

I went to Holly after injuring my hamstring. It was a great move on my part in order to get back to my workout routine as soon as possible. Massage for an injury like mine is a huge help. It's evident she is very qualified and understands the field of sports massage well. After an injury like mine it is important to follow the typical RICE rules, know your limit, and understand how to strengthen the vulnerable area, but if you can afford it then going for a massage is going to expedite the process as well as help prevent future injury. I got an Amazon Local Deal for sports massage at MpowerD and I had some pain that would crop up from time to time from an old running injury (torn quadriceps) so I thought I would give it a try. I am so glad I did! Holly found the scar tissue and she told me in about six to eight weeks we can get rid of it. I did six visits with Holly and one with Melyssa and the work at home that they both assigned me and the scar tissue is gone. Now we are working on an even older injury and after just one session that already feels better. I do horseback riding, running and swimming so having one leg that couldn't pull its weight so to speak was really interfering with all of those Holly is extremely knowledgeable and she is an awesome therapist who can definitely get you back into whatever sport or sports you do. I went from lumbering along fighting pain in my leg and hip that crept into my back and neck to easily running a seven minute mile with no pain after. I can't wait for this winter to end so I can test my improved leg riding and swimming--I am pretty sure the results from my MpowerD sessions will be phenomenal in those areas too! read more

The place is so easy to find. Love the way they set up their work place (massage/yoga). I didn't use their online booking from their website because it was my first time. I called Holly to set up an appointment. I got deep tissue which is deep nothing like Swedish. when I'm done I can really feel the difference. Wow!!!! Can I just say, My Road to Recovery!!!! I will try to keep this short.... I have been having terrible back issues for over a decade, as a result of an injury. I have tried quite a few options (PT, chiropractor, "classy" massages). Well, I needed some good relief after a hectic week and constant migraine all week I first opted to call the spa I visit regularly to see If they could fit me in. "Fortunately" they had no openings. So I "yelped" massage spots in the area and came up with this place as one of many options. The lady (Holly :D) got me in within the hour, and boy was I super relieved!!! That's why we are incredibly thankful that we found Holly and her team of exceptional professionals. They practice a truly holistic approach to the body. They have so many different methods of bring relief to your body and helping it to heal, as well as they work with you to resolve issue, treating the source of the problem and then teaching you how to prevent future. When was the last time your doctor did that? Here is a great example of the results and care my son has received. A few weeks ago during practice my son felt an odd pull in his heal and afterwards it seemed to get worse. We called mpowerd and got an appointment right away. During the visit Holly was able to determine that the source of the issue was actually up in the calf; so working with the calf and then all the way down through the foot she treated my son with cupping, heat, massaging, and applying pressure. Her knowledge of the human body and how everything inside us is connected is truly fascinating and unbelievably valuable. She was able to bring complete relief to my son's heal and then gave him several stretches to do both before and after practice so he could prevent that from happening again. After one appointment we knew what it was, my son's heal felt better, and he knew there were things he could do to help this from reoccurring. Amazing! I could not believe that I left after a 30 min session by the next day my pinched nerve was gone after 1.5 months I tried a chiropractor, medicine, massage, stretching nothing would work for me. My Valentine got me an hour long massage with Lucy. It was wonderful! Thank you Holly! Lucy was amazing! I have always recommended Holly's healing hands, and now I can recommend Lucy's as well! I love this place and wish I had found Holly and Lucy years ago!! I have had a shoulder injury for the last 1 1/2 and with trying PT and cortisone shots - nothing worked. Desperate to find the problem, I made an appointment having never had a massage before. Two days after a 15 minute massage with Holly, I was headache free. We first met Holly about a year an a half ago when my daughter who is a swimmer was battling tendonitis and bursitis in her shoulders. Orthopedic doctors were suggesting surgery and physical therapy wasn't working. After a just few a sessions with Holly we saw noticeable improvement in her range of motion and the pain was rapidly decreasing. Now my daughter sees Holly after every big swim meet and a few times in between. Keeping her muscles and body healthy have made her a better athlete and she has been injury free since starting with Holly. My teenage son who had pain and tightness from baseball and growth spurts has seen similar results with Tasha. My mom who is 75 and not an athlete was in a car accident and suffered amputation of both her legs. Lucy has been working on my body for approximately 10 years.Over the years she has expanded her knowledge in body work and applied these skills based on my body's needs. I have been a long time practitioner of Bikram Yoga and have always been a very physically active person. In addtion, I sit at a computer all day long. So obviously, I can experience alot of soreness and tightness in my shoulders and upper back.
