I really wanted to have an amazing experience. I went to this studio once before and had a good experience, so I bought my boyfriend and myself a 60 minute relaxation couples massage. We finally get around to using it and I was not impressed. I felt like the young girl massaging my boyfriend was very friendly and gave him more attention than my masseuse. She communicated with him more than my masseuse did. I also wasn't very happy that no one asked us what our preferences were on what type of therapist we wanted massaging us. I was not very comfortable with the whole experience. My boyfriend also got his scalp massaged along with his face and I missed out for some reason. I was the one who really wanted the massage and paid for it, and I felt like I got jipped. The massage I got was good, but it was nothing to rave about. I was also hoping to be massaged closer together, but unfortunately he was in another room next to mine with the curtain open. There was no way to have any conversation with each other. I also wish his masseuse would have woken him up or turned up the music when he fell asleep and was snoring. It ruined my relaxation. I left feeling disappointed and upset. I was looking forward to it for a very long time too. I won't ever book a couples massage for us again. read more

I've visited Massage Studio twice this year, and both massages were with Lito. I just returned from my second visit, and I am sure that Lito will be my go-to massage therapist in the future. I'm a runner, and am generally lazy about stretching after my runs. Lito did a great job of stretching me out, and I felt pretty great afterward. While I sometimes enjoy the multi-service, full-day, 'spa' experience that you get from day spas, Massage Studio is great when you need a revitalizing massage at a flexible time that works best for you. She does an excellent job getting out any knots you may have. Overall the staff are always very pleasant and the facility is nice. Like everyone else here, I love this place and I am sad I am moving. I've belonged to other massage membership type places and had good massages but never felt like the experience was peaceful or spa-like. Massage Studio is peaceful and spa-like when you enter. It is quiet and the girls at the reception area are always so warm and welcoming. One even greets me by name now. They also have a "comforting tea" and lemon water, and usually some fruit, in the reception area. Next, the massage therapists have all been absolutely amazing. I started my membership several years ago and was seeing a guy named Marc who was fabulous but left. Then, I had Terry who was fabulous but left. I have had several others and they were all fabulous, until I found my go-to guy, CODY. First, Cody is so super sweet, always greets me by name now, asks about how I'm doing, but then does not talk during the actual massage except briefly just to check how you're doing. If you like a firm pressure, Cody is your man! I carry a lot of stress in my neck, shoulders, and back, and Cody is amazing at relieving that stress. I literally see him every other week, paying the extra for the extra massage that is not covered in your monthly package. He is worth every penny, and more! I'm moving and I'm not sure what I will do without Cody, he's that amazing. Now, just a word of advice, I once paid an upgrade to get a deep tissue for Cody, and thought I will likely die since he's so strong, but it was pretty much the same as his regular massage. Cody's regular massage feels like a deep tissue massage so don't even bother. Anyway, do not hesitate to book an appointment at this location. I can assure you that any of the massage therapists there will not disappoint you. I have tried many and was never disappointed. And, if you like firm pressure, ask for Cody! read more

I was also very impressed by their intake form.. seems random but I've worked in and received massages in many, many spas over the years and their attention to detail is so appreciated. They ask what aromatherapy you prefer, style of music you want, whether you're comfortable with gluts work (say yes!!) and if you want scalp and face touched. We had a wonderful experience with Massage Studio! My daughters and I came into Tampa from Connecticut and Boston to celebrate Christmas with family. We initially planned to have a Girls' Getaway with my sister who is local. I spoke to two people when I called to make our appointments and they were both extremely pleasant to deal with. The first person, who may have been the owner, was really excited about us having a little reunion and offered to set up champagne or anything we might want to bring (we didn't do this, but the offer was so thoughtful and let us know that they truly seem to enjoy creating satisfying experiences). We had booked my sister's appointment but she needed to cancel hers. There was no difficulty at all with the canceling with 24 hours notice! When we arrived, the atmosphere was calm, beautiful and classy and we each had wonderful massages! Each of us are very different in what we like about massages and our therapists were very responsive to our needs and preferences! The questionnaire at check in communicated that they very much wanted to personalize our experiences with options for aroma therapy and heated table as well as questions about desired pressure, etc. My therapist was Lito and he was perfect! He asked a couple of questions toward the beginning of the massage to determine the preferred pressure and gave me a very effective massage! One of my daughters is majoring in Physical Therapy and absolutely loved her therapist, Catherine. Since she is only a year and a half away from her doctorate in PT, I think she knows what she's talking about when she says her therapist seemed very well educated. She felt like Catherine very skillfully addressed hard to reach trouble spots. She enjoyed the massage and technical discussion so much, she's going in for another one tomorrow (deep tissue this time). My other daughter wanted the opposite of deep tissue. She's very ticklish and sensitive. Her therapist, Loren was very accommodating to her preferences too. After having such enjoyable experiences ourselves, we are very confident that my sister and niece, who will be using gift cards that we gave them, soon, will have wonderful experiences as well! My Husband and I have been going to Massage Studio for years. Loved the former location as just across the street from us. New location is just as easy to get to and the space is incredibly relaxing. The massage tables are soooo comfy and the staff is the best around! Catherine is my new BFF..... her massages are amazing.! With a small list of ailments these days she is making a huge difference in the way my body feels. Lower back issues, hip issues and neuroma in my foot are my current ailments. She is doing deep tissue and reflexology and some intense hip work. She has made a huge impact with eliminating a lot of my pain. Catherine is so warm and friendly and she immediately makes you feel as comfortable as if you were friends! Her knowledge of her craft is evident as she works through the muscles and tissues and explains what she is feeling as she manipulates the knots. Started getting massages as a gift and fell in love with the place. The new location is easy to get to, and the quality of the experience is off the chart great. The therapists' have been consistently excellent, and offer a wide range of services, including relaxation, stretch and deep tissue. The opposite of relaxing. I was gifted with a massage and it was scheduled for me. I was going out of town so I had to reschedule it so I did so a week in advance. Then on the day of the original massage, the person who bought it for me said they received a call that I didn't show up so they were going to charge $30 for missing it plus charge him for the rescheduled appointment. I called and said I don't understand why there was an issue, I called a week prior to reschedule the appointment, which obviously cancels the original. He was charged but they voided it. Then the next day when I went for my rescheduled massage, they told me I was scheduled for a deep tissue massage, not a relaxation massage that was bought for me. I don't know who did my rescheduling but Im not sure why they would change my massage. I simply wanted my original relaxation massage at a different day/time. The massage itself wasn't very relaxing and my therapist was coughing throughout. My neck is in pain and the whole situation actually added more stress. Very disappointed. read more
