I have had to date 4-5 massages with Erica. I train Crossfit so I am jacked up with knots often and I feel getting a monthly massage helps big time. Really cute place that offers massage, facials, eyebrow tinting, waxing among other services. They sell some great products in the front check-in area. The first time I went I called and got an appointment. I know you can schedule online as well. I schedule my next appointment after my massage. They are really accommodating and send reminders which my foggy brain needs. I am picky when it comes to massage. I don't want a gentle rub..I need someone to work the junk outta my body and Erica does the job. They use coconut oil which is all natural so my skins feels amazing when done. She also works on my husband who is a bigger guy and she loosens him up as well. I can't say enough about this place. I always leave feeling relaxed and loose. Worth every penny! read more

I've been to MWB three separate times- once for a body wrap, massage, and facial, next for a brazilian wax, and finally, for a spray tan. Each time, I was pleased and had no difficulty making an appointment. The body wrap, massage, and facial were purchased as a gift for me by my husband. The massage was excellent, and everyone was very friendly. After my appointment, they offered a special promotion, in which I could buy half priced services. I chose the brazilian and a spray tan- I had a year to use it. The brazilian was great. Results were excellent and I never felt uncomfortable. The spray tan was also very good- once again, the technician was very nice and reapplied so that I was happy with the color. I had an amazing 2 hours here. The place is super cute and I am so relaxed. Had a facial and a massage. Frederica was so knowledgeable and was fantastic offering me suggestions for my skin. She knew exactly what to do for my Lyne disease and inflammation for both services too. It was the first time someone took so much time to talk to me before a service. This place has a lack of customer service! I had paid for a spa package on Groupon and tried to make an appointment. After 16 phone messages and a dozen emails, and driving to the location and finding no one there 3 times, I got my money back! Never once did I receive a call or email back! What kind of business are they running? Hours are by appointment only and you can never get someone to answer or reply! I had trouble getting an appointment due to the amount of other people that purchased one, and it took me a few weeks to get through to someone. This was frustrating but I expected this as I know this is a small business. However, it was worth the wait! Freddie did a great job with my massage and facial and really helped me relax. She really personalized my treatment which was great. Bottom line, I would go back regardless of a groupon or not. Massage, Wellness, & Beyond is not in North Wales, it's in Lansdale. I went to both locations for massages and can say I have left very relaxed. The owner is very friendly and so was the other masseuse I had last time. I was given 2 groupons for Christmas (one from husband and one from my parents), which technically you are only supposed to be able to use one. Since they were gifts, I appreciate them honoring both gift certificates. So, 5 stars for customer service and 5 stars for the massages that I've received! The true test to a good massage (or service anywhere) is whether I would purchase the massage without the gift cert. For this place, the answer is yes. read more

I purchased 2 massages one for me and my wife from GROUPON. I called the office, got the voice mail then got a message that the box was full. I went through this experience 2 more times. I finally was able to leave a voice mail but no one called me back. I left another, no call back. I contacted GROUPON told them at this point i wasnt going to be comfortable with a massage if i ever was able to reach them so to please refund my money. I always hate to speak negatively about a business, but it's my responsibility as a true YELPer to tell the truth. I came across this spa via a yelp/groupon deal & scheduled a body wrap. My disclaimer: The staff at this establishment was very kind & gracious. However, the service was AWFUL. I was a new client at this spa, but I was no newbie to a body wrap. I could tell that their approach wasn't promising any inch loss, but I was at least looking forward to some relaxation and detoxification. FROM THE START, the body wrap was FALLING APART & my body wrap technician (while very nice) didn't seem experienced whatsoever. I tried to tell her that the "detoxification wrap" was loose & freezing cold, but it became awkward & exhausting. I should have walked away 5 minutes into the service because it was evident that this spa (while very kind) would not even come close to meeting my expectations. If your goal is to DETOXIFY or to RELAX, OR TO LOSE INCHES, DO NOT GO TO Massage, Wellness & Beyond. [Despite the awkward & unsuccessful experience at the spa, I left a 20% gratuity for my body wrap technician]. She was very kind, but I would NEVER return & I would NEVER encourage anyone to visit this spa for a body wrap. Again, I ate to speak negatively, but I hope my advice is helpful. read more

As a powerlifting athlete, I was in dire need of a massage, but didn't know where to go. Thanks to Groupon for leading me to try this place! It's about 45 minutes from where I live, so I definitely wouldn't have given this place a try if it wasn't for Groupon. I have gotten a Sports Massage from Fredricka (the owner) my first time there and it was a great experience. She asked what specific parts of my body that I wanted her to focus on and I told her my shoulders/traps area. After the massage, I felt great! She was very attentive and made me very comfortable throughout the process by conversing with me as it was my first time ever getting a massage. It's awesome to know that she was a former powerlifter, so she knows exactly how I feel and what needs to be worked on. Although, I enjoyed the experience, I was hesitant to return due to the distance. Fredricka offered me a massage package at a discount, which sold me. Second time around, I booked my appointment with Fredricka and was unexpectedly put on the spot to allow Erica to do my Sports Massage instead. I was very hesitant as I wanted consistency in the service, but Fredricka insisted that I gave Erica a try. I agreed. Erica asked if I preferred quietness or would like to engage in conversation, which was really nice of her. I just got back from a powerlifting competition the weekend prior, so I felt super tight and sore. Erica worked on my entire body and removed all the knots. I was relieved that she knew what she was doing. I felt so much better afterwards. During checkout, Fredricka offered me a $20 gift card for putting me on the spot and allowing Erica to do my sports massage, which was really nice of her. Overall, both Fredricka and Erica are awesome with the Deep Tissue and Sports Massage. I would definitely recommend them! Side Note: I have gotten a sports massage prior to my experience with Quest Chiropractics that was closer to home. It wasn't a great massage, so I knew I had to return to Massage, Wellness & Beyond. TIP: For those who prefer quietness over conversations, inform your massage therapist prior to or during your massage. They won't get upset just because you prefer quietness. Sometimes they engage you in conversation because they want to make you comfortable since you are basically naked. They can't read your mind. Just sayin'. read more

I had bought a LivingSocial deal and after reading the prior review, I was very hesitant, and had the same problem of scheduling a massage. However, once I had it scheduled, I did not have any problems. I think they were having some staffing issues, hence the lack of communications or just starting up, understandable. This is a very small business and was located behind a yoga studio. I have had massages at Spas within Center City, but this was slightly more convenient, so I thought I give it a try. Only went here because I was given a groupon as a Christmas gift. It was difficult to come up with an appointment time that I could get to. I never received an answer to my voicemail message and scheduling online was very time consuming. I walked in to a very congested waiting room - all kinds of products, notices on the walls and I don't know what else - but it was not a calm, appealing room at all. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment time, but I was left alone in the room until 10 minutes AFTER my appointment time. When I commented that I thought I'd been abandoned, the reply was, "Your appointment is right about now." She did not introduce herself, and argued with me about how late she was. I was asked more medical history for a simple massage than I was for surgery I had last week - totally unnecessary and invasive. I laid on the table for probably another 10 minutes before the massage therapist returned. The massage itself was mediocre at best. All in all it was a rather unpleasant experience. When I returned to the reception room, once again, no one was there. I wasn't about to waste any more time with this woman, so I just left. I felt totally disrespected and unvalued. I was scheduled to have a facial and massage on Saturday. I arrived 15 minutes early because I do like to unwind and relax beforehand. Unfortunately when I arrived there was no one there and the place was locked up tight. Other than several shady looking people smoking outside of the building, there was no one in sight. I called the spa number at 10:05 just to see if someone was in a back room and possiblydid not hear me knocking. I got the voicemail and left a message. About 1/2 hr later I received a very cryptic message on my phone, somewhat accusatory that my voicemail was received at only10:05. Really? I have had many massages and facials and never once have I had to wait for someone to arrive. Most of my previous experiences, they have purposly told me to arrive at least 15 min early to change and relax a bit before my massage. I must also mention that this was a GROUPON purchase and I do believe that this was part of the reason for my unfortunate experience. I will be contacting GROUPON for a refund. I received a massage from Erica. I can say that it wasn't a GREAT massage but I can't say whether or not it was an OK massage. When she was ready to start the massage, she asked me whether I was ready for the holidays. So we started talking and didn't finish until after the massage was done. For better or worse, I'm not comfortable saying that I would like to just be quiet during the massage. My suggestion is that they ask up front whether you would like to remain quiet or not. When we called to schedule our massages together for the same day/time, they couldn't fit us in until past when the groupon was good for, but they still honored the groupons, which was great. I purchased a groupon and scheduled the first available appointment for one month later. On the day of my appointment, less than two hours before I was to come in I received a phone message cancelling my appointment. The message continued to say that I could come in the next day if I was available. I immediately called the number back and received the answering machine where I left a message that I was available. I NEVER received a return call. I called again the following day to see if I could come in or simply schedule another appointment and I got the machine again. Six days later and I have not received a return call. As a local Lansdale Business Owner I am very disappointed by this organization. I could have been a great referral for this company since all my girlfriends at the gym were interested to hear about my experience. At this point I don't trust the product or service offered by this company and I'm just hoping for a refund. What a shame! read more
