I recently had a necessary four day stay in Solvang and needed daily 90 minute therapeutic massages due to a neurological condition that would have left me bedridden without them. Leaving my own massage therapist back at home and knowing without this daily work I would be in trouble, I booked Walter for 4 consecutive days. He was beyond accommodating as my schedule was erratic due to Zoom meetings. Having had previous poor massages in Solvang (not with Walter nor with MassageAmaze), I had some real trepidation about depending on a stranger for this most necessary work yet I had no choice but to try. Within minutes of meeting Walter at my suite, I was at ease. He was professional and friendly from the outset and set everything up so quickly I was impressed. Each day I greeted him in pain and with movement difficulty that was gone after his fine work. He was very responsive to any special spots that needed his attention and flexible as my condition required. I never felt rushed. His personality is so gentle that, combined with his fantastic skill, this type AAA woman was able to relax and breathe, trusting Walter to help me heal. Because my condition requires long daily massages for two decades now, I have had extensive experience with massage and physical therapists. Walter is highly skilled, professional, personable, and understanding. I recommend him without reservation to abled and disabled persons. There is no doubt that Walter's work on my own disabled body is what made it possible for me to get out of bed and attend to the various tasks I had in Solvang. He really saved me from the disabling pain, muscle spasms, and stress that accompanies my condition and would have prevented any of my planned tasks without his fine work. I am so very, very grateful. If I am in Solvang without my regular therapist again, Walter is certainly my first choice. I look forward to working with him again. There are not enough superlatives to adequately describe Walter's massage: Amazing (of course!), fantastic, sumptuously intuitive, sensual, graceful, perfectly proficient, excellent, delicious, highly attuned, extraordinarily competent- well, you get the idea. Between Covid and my long-time therapist moving out of town, I hadn't had a really good massage in close to three years, and my body and spirit have been aching for some therapeutic touch. Walter came very highly recommended by my neighbors, and then I realized I'd known him as one of a large, informal group of friends & acquaintances from decades ago, before he re-incarnated as The Best Massage Therapist within a couple of hundred miles, maybe more. He was a great guy and a kind, extraordinary gentleman then; but now that he's apparently found what he was always meant to do with his life, he seems to have come alive in a whole new way. A massage from Walter is like a work of art. Clearly he's studied and practiced to achieve perfection, yet it's more than technique. There's a certain quality of connection when masseur and client are communicating, often without words, when you get lost in present-moment awareness, in the BEing-ness, that is so rare, so exquisite, so wonderful, it becomes a little surreal and beyond description. Walter's hands are so sure, so strong yet gentle; I honestly don't remember when I've felt so relaxed, so comfortable in my body. My shoulders are about two inches lower than yesterday, and my refreshed body keeps re-discovering places that are no longer stiff or sore. Walter listens carefully to every word you say, appreciates feedback and integrates it all perfectly. He's a consummate professional, will come to your home ( & has clients from hither to yon), is impeccably well-prepared and is as considerate of your individual massage preferences as he is of your home. ( He even laid clean towels on my white carpets without a single word from me- not that he spilled a drop of anything!) His prices are more than reasonable. I opted for a 60-minute Swedish with 20 minutes of beyond-blissful foot reflexology added on, and some cranio-sacral for good measure. Walter's a master, whatever modality he's using. I was hoping I'd find a good massage therapist this time around, but I found a terrific one instead. You probably know as well as I how hard it is to find an extraordinary practitioner, even in a town with as many massage schools as this one. Well, Walter Witkowski is The Real Thing, and I'm already signed up for my next massage. So if you're smart, you won't wait too long. News this good travels really fast! I have had the pleasure of receiving massages from him on a regular basis both in Los Altos Hills (NorCal) and Santa Barbara (Central/SoCal). He does a combo of deep tissue and Swedish depending on my issues and muscles. He is a true clinician and one of the most pleasant and soothing personalities I have ever encountered in massage.
