Unfortunately, truly great massage therapists seem hard to find, and whenever I do find one, they eventually stop practicing. Because of that, I have been actively searching for a new go-to place. Yesterday, I decided to book a massage because I was dealing with significant discomfort, including cramping and knee pain. I called to schedule an appointment and was told I could come in, so I headed out. Wanting to be sure everything was confirmed, I called again but accidentally reached the wrong business, and they gave me a different address. I went there first, but as soon as I arrived, I realized it could not be the correct location because I remembered the building from TikTok. That building only had the word "massage" displayed on it, which did not match what I had seen. I called the correct number again and was then told my appointment would need to be delayed by another hour and a half. Despite the inconvenience, I chose to wait nearby because I was really hoping for relief. When I finally arrived, I completed the intake form and carefully marked the areas where I was experiencing pain. Notably, I did not mark my back, as that was not an area of concern. The person at the front desk encouraged me to switch from the two-hour massage I had originally planned to a foot soak and massage instead, insisting it would be more beneficial. I reluctantly agreed, trusting their professional judgment. Once I was taken back, I was instructed to undress, lie down, and place my feet into a bucket of water while the table was partially separated. This position was extremely uncomfortable for me. Because of my body shape, lying that way created an unnatural arch in my lower back, which caused immediate discomfort and strain. I tried to adjust and get comfortable, but nothing seemed to help. I've had massages with five different therapists due to my erratic schedule and each time I left renewed....hence my use of the word "empathic" above as my past experience when switching to a new therapist provided so-so results until they got to know me. That has not been my experience at Indigo. They also offer yoga classes and skin care treatment. I've had one acupuncture session (my first ever) and I'm planning my next session now. My only other comment here is about Peter, the acupuncturist. He's demeanor is calming and he presents an intelligence that instills trust. Something I needed as I prepared to have thin needles stuck in my face, hands, legs and feet. As I laid with my eyes closed I thought there was a delay to begin until he told me he was finished applying all the needles and to just relax. Yes, I felt nothing. It was a unique moment and created a very relaxing state. And now to make Indigo even more convenient they have opened a second location in Maplewood to complement their Benton Park location. Each have a unique vibe but both provide a great experience. And to put sprinkles on convenient they utilize an app called MINDBODY that allows u to schedule your massage in :30 seconds. They have competitive rates and a Wellness plan that makes it even more affordable. My only problem is not coming here sooner.

We were treating ourselves, woke up just to head that way, got in, and waited 10 minutes past our appointment time before they finally let us know that one of our masseuses hadn't shown up. They offered us 20% off a future service, but that was pretty much it and sent us on our way. My boyfriend pointed out that if we had cancelled, we would have had to pay 50%, but I won't speak more on that. We were lucky to get in the following weekend for a couples massage, but they weren't very accommodating to our schedule even though they initially cancelled on us. After we had already driven there. The massage we got was great, my masseuse was more about applying pressure than actual massage, which isn't usually my thing, but I have so much relief from it so I can't complain. My boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed his massage. As far as our service went, it was great. I'm just not sure I would continue coming back here since it hasn't been the greatest experience.
