There is currently a Level 4 severe weather threat in our area today. Forecasts for Central NC include severe storms Monday with 75+ mph winds, possible tornadoes, and large hail. Late last night, after the business had already closed, I sent an email asking if I could reschedule my appointment due to the severe and unforeseen weather conditions. Typically, the company confirms appointments, but I did not receive my call yesterday. When they opened at 9 AM this morning, I called directly and spoke with the owner. I explained my concern about traveling during the severe weather threat and asked if I could reschedule. I was told that because "it was not storming right now [at that exact moment], I would not be allowed to reschedule. Despite widespread warnings, school closures, and public safety recommendations due to the weather, I was told my only option was to still come to the appointment. I also asked what would happen if something occurred during the service, such as a power outage due to the storm. The response I received was that they would "cross that bridge when they get to it." Due to this experience and the lack of flexibility during a serious weather event, I will be canceling my membership today. read more

Don't get a membership. Seriously, don't do it. I started a membership about 4 years ago, then I moved away from Raleigh. I called massage luxe to cancel, and they wouldn't let me do it over the phone. Instead they gave me the option to freeze my membership (still charged me $5 a month for this). Then, without my knowledge or consent, my membership was unfrozen and I was charged $75/month again. Finally they allowed me to cancel over the phone, and now I have 10 hours of services that I won't be able to use because I don't live near a massage luxe. I had a great massage here! At first I was a little unsure because this spot is pretty unassuming from the parking lot. I felt like it was much nicer inside than what I was expecting. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful getting me setup for my first visit. My massage therapist was Bliss and I really enjoyed it. She did a great job working through the problem areas I pointed out and made sure to check in with me along the way. I enjoyed it so much I booked another session before I left. This isn't a day spa, so I do feel like you have to have that expectation going in. For the $85 price it was exactly what I was looking for. read more

Do NOT sign up for a membership here! They continuously charge your card every month and make it extremely difficult to cancel. They claim they haven't received your cancellation requests, then suddenly require forms or paperwork that were never mentioned before. Even after paying for months, they refuse to refund your money and will cancel your membership without allowing you to use any remaining credits or hours you've already paid for. Save yourself the frustration and avoid signing up, this place is a headache and completely unprofessional when it comes to handling memberships and cancellations. read more

I came here after getting a 49 dollar intro deal. I booked with any therapist and ended up getting Bailey who was fantastic! The front desk staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Bailey was running a few minutes late and they gave me a free add on for that reason. When she arrived (only 5 min late) she asked questions about pressure and areas to focus on and avoid. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my introductory massage here. It set the tone to never return. The scheduling and staff at the reception desk were excellent. My massage therapist was nice and the massage started off well. I requested aromatherapy and the peppermint helped me relax temporarily. What I did not appreciate were the paper thin walls and loud staff members moving items and having very loud conversations that could be clearly heard. Chatter and laughter is all that was memorable about this place. The remainder of the massage simply felt like lotion was put on me. Waste of time. I have been a loyal member at this spot over 7 years and during my many massages I had always used James as my masseuse. Recently I was introduced to Kylie shes an amazing masseuse. Today she was working on my torn rotator cuff area. She's so skilled at working out the knots in my back and shoulders. Her pressure is strong but smooth she really listens to your body great technique. She always allows me to start my using heating pad on my back areas to relax the areas before she begins. Its a therapy session for my mind and body when I'm there we chat as well as work on my painful areas due to fibromyalgia etc. Im noticing my body is definitely improving each visit. Empty mini fridge in the lounge. Crumbling furniture. The whole place just kind of looked like it was nice at one point, but not being maintained or any amenities being replaced as they break/age. The one area I asked my therapist to focus on - he didn't even touch! How do you complete a full body massage WITHOUT massaging my neck or back?! He pushed on it a few times and dug his fingers into one point on the back of my shoulder. That was it. I was GENUINELY confused at the end. He was nice, but clearly not in the right line of work. Decent experience, although not the best I've ever had. A few things: - Groupon ran a special for all massages $10 off, so this was a huge bargain. Five stars for that. My massage was 19 bucks, plus tip. - However, the groupon is misleading. The massage is only 45 minutes, not an hour. The hydrobed is 15 minutes, so the entire experience adds up to an hour. If you buy the groupon, just know that "sixty minute massage" is incorrect. I would have rather had fifteen more minutes of massage! - That said, the hydrobed is really cool. It feels nice, and you can control the pressure, the speed, the zones, etc. The room it's in is a little bright, so it's not super relaxing, but it does feel nice. - Their membership packages seem to be a good deal, but the location just isn't all that convenient for me. (But it *is* right next door to the "all you can eat sushi place"!) read more

When you enter the lobby, the friendly staff escorts you to the lounge and you are offered tea or water. You are then greeted by your massage therapist and taken to the massage room. The therapists are very experienced and professional. I would start with the introductory massage and you can then purchase a membership. They also offer groupons every so often. The hydro massage bed is like a big waterbed and you get to test that out during your first visit. Enjoyed the place very much! My massage therapist was Candi, and she did an awesome job! Had lots of tension in my neck, shoulder, and back (pretty common for women) and she helped to relieve it! The bed was warm, and there was eucalyptus ready just in case you get stuffy, they had warm towels and loved the scent of the oils - they weren't too strong or super mild. Also, on your first visit it's $35 and you get a free 15 min hydroMassage session! Pretty cool! The staff was very pleasant and in the waiting area there are some tea, water and candy. After visiting this location today I'm left extremely uncomfortable. To start off, you walk into multiple signs stating there is a panic button if something goes wrong with your service (should have known there was something off after seeing that). My massage started face down with a view of the masseuses barefoot disgustingly dirty feet, while he proceeded to ask me to use chiropractic techniques. I asked if he was a chiropractor and after stating no I politely asked him not to use any of those techniques out of fear of being injured. He then proceeded to use a percussion gun on my back (who pays to get a massage to get that used on them??). After using the gun he itched my back with his long fingernails. I do not believe any of these people should be allowed to massage people. I could not relax the entire experience, and do not recommend this place at all. read more

The manager and all front desk staff are lovely and accommodating, trying to help make their appointments fit my schedule. There is always a smile waiting when you enter the door. I accumulated quite a few credits and have had a difficult time with my schedule lately. Other places I've been would let you freeze your account for a period of tine but you couldn't use your visits during that time. Massage Luxe has a minimal monthly payment you can make to keep your account active with access to your visits without accumulating more. You can also gift visits 1 time every 6 months. Unheard of with the competition. I really appreciate the clean and peaceful environment you enter when you're receiving treatments. You can initiate conversation or relax in a quiet peaceful experience, whatever your preference. I enjoy working with Betsy & Andrew in particular. I have never wanted a membership to any massage place because I wasn't impressed. I will start by saying, when there are multiple signs advising you of a panic button under your massage bed take that as a subtle message to leave. When I went for my message today, my therapist came into the waiting room looking as if he where a lost patient. Wearing an untucked shirt, track pants and white sneakers with a large chain around his neck. It would have instilled a bit more confidence if the therapist or any of the therapists wore some sort of professional uniform. When I was taken to the massage room I was given the standard instruction, once I was situated and the therapist started my massage, I noticed quickly his knuckles cracking constantly in my ear, the loose t shirt I mentioned, kept brushing up against me completely creeping me out. His "chain" necklace would jingling and he kept "one handed" massaging because I think he was gulping something from his Gatorade bottle. The final sounds I heard, that heightened this performance, where the stomach grumblings which where almost as loud as his knuckles cracking in my ear. Oh did I mention he had sharp fingernails or rough skin? Not sure which but it doesn't really matter at this point. I recently went here for their sports / injury massage with a particular injury I wanted worked on in my left arm that I made very clear. First they have you sign 10+ wavers stating you can't sue them for this that and the other which was immediately suspicious considering it was more than 3X as much paperwork as other places I've been to. The therapist decided to have me get naked for this injury specific massage in my arm. He ended up spending most of the hour on my legs and glutes which was super uncomfortable and not what I came in for. He also had the nerve to fish for tips in the small talk / banter. Here's a tip, do a good job and listen to the customer. Andrew spent no extra time on my injury at all. But he seemed to "hang out" on my butt for some reason.... I left feeling super uncomfortable and this "therapist" seemed to know nothing about how the body works. I'd be explaining my injury and what muscles are affected while he seemed to not even know the names of muscles and would just point. He described how I can go home and fix my injury myself (after the session) and I said "You mean trigger point therapy?" He goes "Ya that's it." I even waited a week or so before leaving this review to see if he maybe worked some magic that I didn't notice that I'd see benefit from later. No improvement whatsoever. Such an unprofessional environment and terrible experience. I had more education than this guy regarding how the body works and that's just pathetic. 75$ down the drain. I have been here a few times and had some good experiences. However, the more I think about the "60-min" "full body" massage I received yesterday the more annoyed I get. I arrived 10 mins early for my appointment for consultation and dressing down as requested when I scheduled. My masseuse shows up last minute flustered and somewhat disheveled. The front desk person offered the hydro massage bed while my masseuse got ready. My masseuse got me out of the hydro massage bed 10 mins after my appointment was supposed to start saying she wanted to give me some time in there... (that was the first thing that annoyed me) My 60 min massage did not actually start until 15 mins past the time it was supposed to. During the massage my masseuse was very talkative which is normally okay even though I really just wanted to focus on relaxing. I found her to be super unprofessional telling me too much about the stressors in her personal life and even stressors in her friend's personal life. I felt like I had to be polite and let her vent. She ends my massage apologizing for not getting to my whole body because my upper back was the problem area. I noticed she ended the appointment on time. So my 60-min massage was actually 45-min and did not even cover half of my body. I normally would have said something but I was kind of tired of listening to her talk about herself. This was frustrating because in order to get the facials we had to come back the next day and drive 40 mins once again. I've been to this location a few times, probably about 5 times total within the last 3 years. It seems that it is hit or miss depending on the therapist. Unfortunately, when requesting deep tissue a few times, it just felt more like a soft Swedish Massage. A little over a year ago I did receive a good massage from one of the therapist who I believe is There seasonally. That was the one time I got the pressure and the quality massage I was hoping for. My last massage I received was only 45 minutes. I understand that a 1 hour massage at this type of business is 50 minutes, but to be given a 45 minute massage at most is unacceptable. My review is based on the quality of the massages I've received there. As for the Customer service and friendliness of the front desk staff, it was very good. Front desk staff are Friendly, courteous, and polite. If there was a 1/2 star option, I would probably give a 1/2 star due to the customer service . Other than that, I'll have to think twice about returning there if I'm looking for a deep tissue massage to help loosen up my knots on my shoulders and other areas in my body. read more

I was greeted by a sweet girl at reception who guided me through some questions on an Ipad. Then I was taken back by Leslie, my massage therapist. She gave me a very good massage and concentrated on my neck and quads, as I said they were sore. I also went into the hydro massage bed, where you lie after your massage and it's like a water massage. This was OK, not sure if it was worth the time. Beautiful establisment!! Front desk has phenomenonal customer service. I had the pleasure of working with Angela and Clay and they were amazing during check in and check out. They definitely showed so much hospitality!! I loved the set up of the couples room. My partner had an amazing massage with Jasmine! Jasmine did a spectacular job!! My massage with Ben was just ok. I only say ok because he did not touch my hands or feet and I told him those were main concentration areas, so for them not to be touched was a bit disappointing. I am a massage therapist too (I never let the therapist know that until after the massage), so I'm VERY in tune with what therapist are doing during the session; I asked questions throughout the massage and he really couldn't answer them for me. They provide you with all the water and tea you could ask for. Beautiful bathrooms. Very neat and clean with pleasant smells. I loved the vibe and atmosphere. I was taken back a little late but she made up the time and I took her up on two additional enhancements like the foot scrub and a menthol oil which was great. Amanda found AND worked out all the knots in my shoulders which was a much needed relief.
