We stopped here for lunch upon arriving in Rome, we were greeted and sat right away. The service was excellent; everyone was friendly and helpful. We sat outside, under a huge umbrella, we were given the choice between sun/no sun( we chose no sun, it was a warm day). We started with limoncellos, they are delicious!!! We ordered a margarita pizza, focaccia pizza, bucatini bolognese, & a grilled chicken salad. They were all very good. We declined dessert, but were served lemon sorbet. While on vacation in Rome I decided to try this place. It did not disappoint the staff was so nice and friendly. Quickly took our order and brought our drinks while we waited for the food. Europe 2023 - Rome, Italy FAST Review Food: I asked for the Gnocchi and got the daily special, which was a pasta in a pumpkin sauce. The main reason for not giving it 5 stars is it was not hot and while it did have a pumpkin taste, it was kind of bland. The pizza was good as was the cappuccino. Atmosphere: we sat outside, it was raining and they had great heat lamps. Service: our waiter was very nice, typical Italian waiter! He had a lot of support from staff. Tiramisu is like a little slice of Italy in your mouth We didn't even plan to come here, and we're so thankful we did! We came wanting some margherita and yet the dessert blew us away! This tiramisu was truly AH-MAZZZ-INGG! Definitely a melt in your mouth situation and I don't think we could've gotten anything better then this! I ordered carbonara, one of my favorites. I specifically asked if they used guanciale and they assured me they did. When the dish came out, was obviously uniformly flat bacon strips cut into small bits... tasted like it too. The egg was overdone and partially scrambled. Could have been a north American breakfast! I brought it up with the waiter who had a tantrum and brought out raw guanciale chunks, which looked nothing like the bacon in my pasta. Rather than fighting with him, I accepted that nothing was going to change ate the pasta and moved on. We also ordered caprese and the tomatoes were pale, slightly, green and quite firm. After exploring Rome for 8 hours, we were famished. We were beyond hangry and after finishing the tour of the Colosseum we were skeptical of all the food directly across the biggest tourist site in Rome. We were sat right away at the outdoor patio which was a perfect 60 degrees. Leaving below zero temperatures in Chicago made Italian winters feel like summer! We got Minestrone soup and bread as an app and it was perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of veggies, and probably the most authentic Minestrone soup I've had. The bread was fresh and after making our olive oil/parmesan/black pepper dipping sauce, we were finally able to feel normal again. I had the spaghetti again since it was safe and I was too hungry to gamble with another dish, and it was delicious. My fiance had the fettuccini scampi, and just a heads up, it comes with prawns and you have to peel them yourself. They come whole, with the head attached. He ate the entire plate, and the bite that I had was very flavorful. Was surprised at how good this place and would definitely recommend this spot. read more

Very accommodating to our large party of 9 (5 kids) as walk up customers. I get that we are a nightmare party from jump street but to put it bluntly, the service sucked. The food was good (not Rome good) 3 star worthy but we had to beg for more drinks (asked our server twice and another server once) which we never received and then the drinks were on our bill. I'm not the typical cry baby that bashes a place for one bad experience caused by something stupid like so many on yelp but this place made me relate. Its in a somewhat touristy location near the Colosseum and anywhere you go there is a tourist trap, but I'm sure theres places that you'll get better value for your money. The drinks are overpriced, around €20 for the cheapest wine option or €5-6 for a glass, and soft drinks aren't any better. We also ordered one of their €6 milkshakes and it was alright but came in a pretty small glass considering the price. I had the spaghetti bolognese and my girlfriend had the chef's special fettucine. My sauce was bland and tasted like canned tomato sauce mixed with some ground beef, and while hers was better, it was still among some of the worst pasta we've had in Italy. The service was awful, not only did we have to wait around 5 minutes for someone to even bring us menus, but it took so long waiting for our cheque I had to go inside and ask them again for it in order to pay. Avoid this place at all cost! I should have known than to pick this location. We were on our last day in Rome and headed out to dinner a bit late and settled for this place since it was around the corner from us and all the good places were full. The best part was at the end, took about +30 mins to get our checks after we asked for it. They finally came out with checks for the 3/6 tables (not including us) and we still had to ask for ours again. It was ridiculously overpriced for the mediocre meal and horrendous service. If you are having issues with your card machines the least you can do is explain that to more than half of your customers. The owners and even chefs walking inside looked very amused by all this when we had to physically go in to finally pay. If all this money is being charged for meals at least have a good card machines. In terms of a nice meal I would not recommend. Really nice places on Via Della Madonna dei Monti which is on the other side of this place. read more

Again the yelpsters prove to be right. Don't let the lure of this corner restaurant's outdoor shrub-lined dining draw you in. While the waiter was friendly and helpful of these Westerners, and the caprese salad was full of lovely ripe tomatoes, the main course was just bad. My wife had the fettuccine with shrimp and lime which actually proved to be the most "mint" flavored dish I have ever tasted. I did the lobster with pasta and it tasted like everything was boiled in the same pot. Lobster legs were scattered in the pasta. Just say No grazie to this place. read more

Both were very good, though the bucatini is not particularly spicy, as advertised, though still very flavorful. Nearly everyone around us had a pizza, which is on a separate menu. We found this restaurant for lunch after seeing the coliseum. It is close. Got to sit outside in the patio on a beautiful day. It was busy but we quickly got a table. We enjoyed the pizza with ham (and cheese) and a salad. The pizza was very thin and crispy and not that much cheese ( not a nyc pizza) but it hit the spot because it was light. I thought service was fast and efficient if not overly friendly. Our server warmed up after awhile...I believe you get what you give. The pizzas were good as where the bruschetta. Ask for the chile peppered olive oil to put on the pizza...it was great and they make it at the restaurant. Yes its by a touristy area, and yes its crowded and packed with tourists...but so is ALL of ROME. Enjoy the experience and stop complaining about price when you are on vacation....you can clearly view the menu outside the restaurant before you sit your butt in a chair. My salad was fresh and pizza crust was light and crispy. And was much better than any other places we tried that had much high reviews. Service was attentive. And please do not complain about prices. went with my son last sunday.place was not crowded at all but a waiter took us to a small room in the back.we were soon given menus but were then left alone & ignored.after about 15 mins we got up and walked out.the waiter just kind of gave us a look like who cares.the wait staff is non italian by the way.we left and went across the street to pizzeria imperiale that had better prices & a friendly italian wait staff.they seem to have an attitute like they're some kind of fancy upscale restaurant.i hope they go out of business asap!
