We were finally in a position to update so we started getting estimates from different companies and contractors. Lion Heart Remodel stood out above the rest. Most folks I met with had a lot experience in remodel work but Richard has vision and imagination. From the moment he introduced himself to my wife and I, we felt confident that this was the guy to hire. Never once through this 2.5 month project did I regret that decision. Great communication, asks for feedback through the whole process, and takes changes in stride. We did three new bathrooms, windows, flooring trim, interior and exterior doors, interior paint, banister-replacement-with-pony-wall, and a new deck. The work done here by Lion Heart and his whole crew has been literally life changing for us. For the first time in the 15 years we've lived in this house, we are absolutely in love with our home. I cannot recommend Lion Heart enough. Now that my remodel is done I don't mind sharing!

I contacted him and he cane out and gave me a verbal quote. I agreed and told him I was having floors replaced so I would need to have that completed first. He said if He did that part he could give me a price break, unfortunately his price was higher than the flooring company that I was using. So we set the date for after the floors were completed. Along the way i reached out regarding trim work and replacing doors to which he rarely answered the phone and preferred text. I would ask when he could start and his responses were hit and miss. Finally when we set a date, I reached out the day before and asked about items I was purchasing, and then asked him to send a final invoice (which he did not seem to want to provide) and when i gave him all the prices we discussed he mentioned an additional $500 or so for the paint. Now keep in mind when we initially discussed this project he said the price would only increase if I chose a color other than white. And he was giving me the price because it was because he would use the same color and sheen for the walls and baseboard. He decided in the end that he wanted more money and since he does not provide written estimates without repeatedly asking, he was able to change his price. Being that tine was running out I asked if he would honor his price and told him to cancel one item on the list because this was going to put me over budget. I asked if he would honor his original price, and from there he stopped responding. The next morning I called to see what the plans were since I had to schedule time off to have someone there for them, he did not respond to texts or my last call. In the end, I am fortunate I was able to experience this before the project started since it could've become very stressful. I do not recommend any company that does not provide written quotes and will change prices on a whim. Not to mention one that stops responding to a client that they've scheduled a job with.

Unfortunately, the work was incomplete, several plants later died, and he repeatedly refused to provide an itemized invoice or documentation for his labor charges. After the project, Mr. Ponce presented us with a receipt for plants and materials that raised serious concerns. He fabricated a fake receipt. We contacted the retailer listed on the receipt and were informed that the document did not accurately reflect the purchase. Despite multiple requests, he never provided legitimate supporting documentation for either the materials or his labor costs. Weeks after the work was completed, he demanded an additional $3,120 that had never been discussed or agreed upon. When we disputed these charges and asked for documentation, his communications became aggressive, and he threatened to return to our property and remove the plants. Even after being explicitly told not to enter our property, he returned without permission and removed the landscaping with a very aggressive behaviour. We have video evidence of him entering our property and removing the plants. The removal caused additional damage to our fence and garden, leaving us with significant repair costs. Our experience was extremely disappointing, and we would encourage anyone considering this company to insist on a written contract, detailed invoices, and clear pricing before agreeing to any work.
