That said, having just made the first of many credit card payments for work I never would have had done given the full scope of what my vehicle needed, I feel compelled to prevent this from happening to anyone else. While the actual work done here seems fairly competent, the diagnostic process seems about as accurate as playing darts blindfolded. I brought my car in because it was creaking misfiring, and the check engine light was on. I told them that I believed my engine mounts were worn out and that I also needed a diagnoses for the misfiring. They told me that the cause for the misfiring was likely that my spark plugs and ignition coils were worn out, because that usually happens around 100k miles and my vehicle was past that. I agreed to have them replaced along with new engine mounts, to the tune of $2,600. I was told that after this my vehicle would be like a totally different car. The very next day, my car misfired again and the check engine light came back on. When I brought it back, they informed me that they don't have any way of knowing this fo sure, but I probably actually had a blown head gasket. I brought my car to a different mechanic shop who did a full and complete diagnostic from bumper to bumper and took photos of everything wrong with the car- from a blown head gasket to a leaking transmission to almost completely worn wheel bushings and a host of other problems totaling over $8,200 in addition to the $2,600 I had already paid at Red Rock Auto. Had I known this in the first place, I never would have paid $2,600 on a doomed old van that needed almost $11,000 in work done. I had to buy a new van and that $2,600 would have really helped with the down payment. I'm tempted to say that I feel duped, but I don't think there was any malice or fraud going on- just general laziness or incompetence in the diagnostic process that very negatively affected me.

Leaders teach by example and set the tone at work. Their lead was both professional and friendly. The oil change was very quick, as expected. The transmission service took some extra time, so after the oil change, they moved my car to another working lane. The lead was able to focus on my car while the rest of the crew kept at the oil changes. They do state inspection and emissions testing! They did two emissions jobs and probably 3 other oil changes in the time I was there. They kept a really good pace going. I had a great interaction at the counter, and was even offered a little coupon/discount to help with the combined cost. I will be back again. After driving for two hundred plus, miles, several engine lights lit up, as the vehicle had leaked most of its oil. Fortunately, we had the vehicle towed to an authorized dealership, and the problem was solved before any serious damage. The dealership charge $280 for the diagnosis and replacement of the oil and securing the filter. When we addressed this problem with Jiffy Lube they, again, were extremely polite, but were unable to offer a refund, or possible compensation beyond a gift card for a future oil change. Unfortunately, Jiffy Lube is off our "buy list."
