Master Burger is amazing. For less than $5 you can get a HUGE cheeseburger, seasoned fries and a soda. And the burgers are awesome. Whenever I have friends over I take them to Master Burger. They're usually pretty sketched out over the location, but once they actually taste the burgers it's all good. The burgers are made with seasoned ground beef and seem to be cooked over a flame. (Think restaurant burger, for about a quarter of the price.) The fries are steak cut with season salt on them as well. I don't recommend the Double Master Burger because it's just too damn big! Master Burger, a small neighborhood chain, not only has burgers but pastrami, burritos, friend chicken, and whole lot more. Horrible ass service and had my person from Postmates sitting there for 30 extra min and when I called up there to find out where my order was...the guy put the phone down and forgot about it and I could hear everything INCLUDING my Postmates person tell them the order AGAIN and when he did come back to the phone I told him who I was and he yelled and then hung the damn phone up. King Burger ain't no joke. It's huge! My BF and I had to split it with our daughter too! The rest of our family ordered the Jr. burger, wings and chicken strips. They loved their food too. The location of it is easy to find but it is ghetto. The parking is down a narrow "alley" type where literally two cars barely fit and there were maybe 5/6 parking slots? I can't remember but it was only a few in the back behind this burger joint. There's no seating it's literally order to-go so you might as well order by phone and pick it up because as we were waiting for our food our experience got interesting yet awkward. As we were waiting for our food. A Honda civic pulls up in the "alley" with an Uber sticker on the car. Driver yells out to a few people on the street asking them if they need a ride, laughing, joking as it sounds... The passenger gets out of the car and walks away. Another car coming the opposite direction in the alley pulls up and starts talking with the driver. Words were exchanged. The passenger from the Uber car walked up to the second car's passenger side and starts talking to him while the driver of the uber car is talking as well. This driver gets mad said "aiight, I see how it is. Let's do this" he speeds off into the main street in front of the burger joint and that was that. So we thought since the uber car left too... When our food was ready we all started walking to the parking lot and I noticed BOTH cars in the back... Apparently they got into a fight? Jumped some dude into a gang? There were at least 6 dudes standing and 1 dude on the ground. I don't know what the case was but it was an unusual experience. Before I begin let me say I'm a native of LA, and not afraid to explore. This is one of those burger places you mustn't judge by the appearance , Don't be scurred lol. It may look questionable but the food is great! I usually just stick with a burger or chili cheese fries things of that nature. My favorite thus far is the pastrami burger. I get it with grilled onions mayo and extra seasoning on the meat. Not that it's bland but I like to really taste my food. And they happily oblige every time. Oh, yeah. This place is totally ghetto. Dirty. Bars on the windows. Sketchy people passing by. However, the burgers are really good, as are the fries. I arrived on a motorcycle, so that sorta sets me apart from the white tourists (local or otherwise) in a good way. No one hassles me. In fact, they're friendly and ask about the bike. The service is good, with no weirdness. The burger didn't come quickly, but it's handmade and cooked to order. The result is juicy and tasty, and as real as a burger is going to get at a restaurant. The reviews for Master Burger are hilarious! Though it's all true. Honestly, when I have this burger (which is once every 5-6 months), my husband goes. And if I go with him, I stay in the car with the doors locked! LOL. I can easily kill a master burger if I eat it first and then I'll have left over fries. If I eat the fries first, the burger wins. Great burgers, tried it the first time and it had all the flavors u may want from a burger. The cashier wasn't very friendly, possibly because of where it is located. It took like 20 minutes to get two burgers. I guess because the patties where as thick as two fingers put together. The avocado bacon burger wasn't disappointing and the pastrami was just as great. The meat was juicy and done perfectly. They serve all sorts of other stuff like chicken wings, tacos, fried fish, pancakes, fried zucchini and other fatty foods. Master Burger is a Prime Example of what a great tasting freshly seasoned handmade patty burger should be. They've got 3 locations in the hood, although, I will say this one is the most hood by far. I won't speak on much of the menu as I haven't tried most of it and some stuff that I have had is not remarkable. The burger is King here, and they have the King burger for a voracious appetite. I usually get the Turkey Burger as it is just as delectable as it's beef counterpart but with a little less guilt. I'm local so this is my usual location. As recommended phone order ahead. Its really too bad that I learned of this place after I had already become a vegetarian. Its because of this that I don't know the joys of the double king master bacon cheese burger! DAMN! My Employees and I have been ordering from this establishment for quite some time. The first time that I ordered from here the lady nearly drove off with my order , ( Not to mention; The burger was far from master, I ordered it medium it came well done ). The second time, they cancelled my entire order because they did not have mushrooms. However when the order was initially cancelled they offered no answer except the bank will refund me no later then 5-10 business days. When I called and asked the female if she could just send me my fries , she told me " if you order just the fries I will keep canceling your order because we have a minimum". Seasoning: The burgers have a lot of pepper in them, which is typical for black burger stands. The fries have seasoned salt, which I do not care for, and many of the patrons opted for "no salt." My family and I order the same thing every time but at each place the prices are completely different from online / each location AND they can't even give you the right prices nor do they have the prices listed at their location.
