I've been coming to this Quick N Split location for a while, and I try not to judge a place based on one bad experience. Unfortunately, each visit has been worse than the last. The first time, I called in an order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived right on time, but still had to wait another 20 minutes. If you're going to give customers a pickup time, it should be reasonably accurate. The second time, I tried calling multiple times and nobody answered. When I eventually went in, I could hear the phone ringing behind the counter while the staff ignored it. To make things worse, they were already out of chicken in the middle of the afternoon. Running out of a staple item that early doesn't leave a great impression. On both visits, the employee working the front counter made me uncomfortable. Instead of focusing on customers and keeping orders moving, he seemed more interested in looking me up and down and commenting on my appearance. It came across as unprofessional and made the experience awkward. Worse part of that is that the place is small, limited seats for waiting and a few tables outside. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The taco sauce tasted like Frank's RedHot rather than an actual salsa. I know they sell different varieties, but what came with my order was underwhelming and didn't add much to the meal. I gave this location multiple chances because I know every restaurant can have an off day. Instead, I experienced inaccurate wait times, unanswered phones, poor inventory management, unprofessional customer service, and average food. At this point, I'm done giving this location opportunities. It's disappointing to see a place with a solid reputation fall this far. read more

Let me begin by saying that I'm all about celebrating It was Cinco De Mayo and it happened to fall on taco Tuesday so I decided to partake ........that was the good news. I decided to support a black business, instead of a brown one, on this day; plus Quick'N Split LaDera offers a taco special, and I can appreciate a good deal. I arrived around 8pm and was surprised the place was pretty empty. I ordered 2 turkey and 2 beef tacos. I kid you not...... 45 minutes later, after watching other customers come in, order their meals, get their meals, and leave; one of the employees asked me what did I order!!??!! I told her, and in less than 10 minutes, my order was ready. No apologies. No discount. No extra taco. Nothing. I left feeling unappreciated. I got home expecting to be impressed by the food and instead was very underwhelmed. I had barely a spoon of "meat" in either taco. Even if it was in there, I couldn't distinguish which meat was which because they were that bland and tasteless; thank goodness there was a "B" written on the wrapper or I would've thought all 4 were turkey. I couldn't see any cheese on them, but perhaps it was hidden in all of the lettuce on the taco. All in all. I was hungry and dissatisfied after my experience. - Pastrami Taco: Super salty. $6.50 for one taco is pretty crazy especially one that's maybe 3 bites lol. Also so greasy it was dripping before I took a bite. I love pastrami so it had that nice pastrami flavor - Turkey Taco: Same issues as other taco but much less salty. But just not good enough to get again. - Quick n Split burger: Toppings were all over the place and bun was sopping wet so it soon fell apart right when I bit into it. Same salty pastrami as in taco. Thick patty. - Large Chili Cheese Fries: Chili was real nice and flavorful and the cheddar cheese on top was very complementary. Noticed that the "Large" came in a different container than what I saw online. This container was smaller for sure. Would get again. Food might've been greasy but everything had flavor! Went here about 2 weeks ago. The food was ready faster than expected. The customer service was good. When I got home the food was cold. Not cold like it had been hot and cooled down but cold as in refrigerator cold. We had a scooter wooter, chili cheese fries, a taco and a side of fries. All cold! I couldn't understand how or why. We did go when they first open so I thought maybe they didn't let the food warm up enough before making the order but even with that being the case they should be able to tell that the taco was cold to touch from holding it. I could tell even with the paper wrapped on the taco that it was cold. So why serve it? The small fries were so small. I mean teeny tiny, the box was small and they still didn't fill it up. My daughter accused us of eating them before we got home but no one touch them. This particular location is known for businesses having grand opening and grand closing soon after, I would hate to see that happen to this business. Ok for some context. My family last eat at Quick & Split on 98th and Vermont in around 1994 before they all closed. It was out after a long church service treat. Especially the homemade ice cream. We nicknamed it Slow & Stay because they would literally take 15-20 minutes to freshly prepare your grub. Several times they would thankfully get your order wrong and when you tried what they gave you it tasted better than what you actually ordered. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger meal--10/10! And taco 6/10. The old Q&P used to have soft shell taco partially fried. And the taco lacked hot sauce. Perhaps I should have asked for some. First time trying this Quick & Split location. I called in a phone order and picked up burgers for the kids, double cheeseburgers for my son and me, plus some lip dripper tacos. I didn't really know what to expect, but overall the food was good. The burgers were fresh and satisfying. The double cheeseburgers hit the spot, and the lip dripper tacos were solid too. Everything was made right and packed well. That said, I have to be honest, the Quick & Split on Crenshaw near the cupcake shop just does it differently. The flavor, the texture, the overall feel of the burger there sets a higher standard for me. It's just a better Quick & Split experience. This location is good and dependable, but if I'm craving that real Quick & Split burger again, I'm heading to the Crenshaw spot. read more

Had to go and support (what ai consider) an old time favorite. Saw their ad for this location on social media so being in the area, it was only right ai stop by and partake in an old time fix. Ordered the Double Turkey Burger w/cheese. Lg Onion Ring and 2 Turkey Tacos that were very tasty indeed. The service was professional and hospitable. Took more than an hour for my order so ai wound up having multiple conversations with other patrons and running into acquaintances that ai hadn't seen in a while. The place was a buzz with patrons supporting their efforts here and it was simply a nice ambiance to be there. Gratitude and give thanks Quick n Split and staff for a delicious meal experience. I'd have given the place 5 Stars but the double cheeseburger was very sloppy. Had heard about this place for a while. GrubHubbed the pastrami sandwich the night before and it was the best little pastrami sandwich I've had in 30 years! Seriously! So, next day I had to see what the burgers were all about. Was excited to try. At first, was very disappointed at the sloppiness of the presentation. It was a mess. But after I got a few bites in... oh boy... what a blast. Better than Storm Burger. Ok so this place is called QUICK N SPLIT. My first visit I just wanted to try their chili. Was super impressed. I go again this evening and watched 2 quarters of the basketball. The wait was 40min. As I waited in line to order a regular customer came in and the lady from the back noticed him and asked "do you want your usual " proceeded to help that customer and he received his food before me. When I made a gesture the same lady replied to to me saying your order will be up soon. Took another 7min. For me to get home which is around the corner 2min and my chili burger was soggy and cold. Fries were drowned on salt. So for the overall visit to be near 47min, be served after another person that ordered after me and a soggy burger I was really unable to enjoy it. During that time, staff were sitting in their car mean mugging instead of assisting customers. The owner even arrived looking more put together and flashy than the establishment itself. My only issue was with the chili and the fries themselves. The chili was a little on the dry side, and overall the fries were pretty greasy. They should not have kids cooking because they have no idea what they are doing. Get some real cooks in the establishment. All they do is talk and laugh. Our family was really disappointed with our experience at Quick N Split. We first tried to stop by on Thursday night, but the hours posted on Yelp were incorrect and the business was closed. We decided to give them another try tonight (Friday), hoping for a better experience. The staff was friendly and clearly trying their best, but unfortunately that's where the positives ended. After spending over $100 to feed four people, we waited more than an hour only to receive cold food. To make things worse, the "side of fries" we received was literally a small bag with about eight fries inside. No exaggeration. We understand that starting and running a business is challenging and expensive, and we genuinely wanted to support a local spot, especially given the history of this establishment. But waiting that long for cold food at that price point is really disappointing. For comparison, last night we went to Storm Burger, spent $70, all four of us got shakes, and the food quality was much better.
