Then they vented the refrigerant into the atmosphere (see video) and quoted me $16,000-$24,000 for a replacement system. The next day, a reputable company found the real issue was actually minor, and none of those components were bad. However, because ACE had already vented the refrigerant, and my system used an older type, I ended up having to replace it anyway. The more reputable company replaced the entire system--unit, air handler, everything--for just over $10,000--about *HALF* of ACE's quote. Bottom line: ACE Solves It All turned a simple fix into a full replacement and quoted double the price. Their efforts to make a sale cost me more than $10,000. Think very, very carefully before letting them touch your HVAC system.

After discussing it further, the price was reduced to $2,658--a difference of more than $1,000. While I appreciate the lower price, it makes me question why we weren't given the fairer price from the start. Transparency and consistency in pricing are important, and this experience has unfortunately affected my trust and confidence in this company. We hired another company and paid around $1,500 for the exact same work. Very disappointed in Osceola Air.

However, two years after spending over $30K on two new units, the experience is beyond disappointing. Within 2 years after installation, we discovered several major shortcuts taken by the installers: they failed to install a safety switch (which led to a leak and ceiling damage) and didn't install the correct breaker for the unit. Each of these led to costs for us to repair. Now, we are dealing with a faulty coil and another $1500 repair bill. The most disappointing part is the lack of accountability. We shared all this information with Dave. It took 2 days to return a call then another week for him to say they wouldn't do anything to make it right. Instead they simply said we should have called them for repairs. Well when the ceiling is leaking, or the house is hot you call who can be there in 15 minutes. Not a company that will call back later. They may be nice people, but based on my experience, they don't stand by their work and their installation quality is poor. You would think local installers would understand that doing the right thing will always pay dividends. Apparently not in this case.

As soon as Toby and the other tech walked in, it was clear they knew what they were doing. We had gotten several quotes from other companies, and most suggested putting the AC in the attic. Toby immediately told me that while there were some companies out there that would do that, he would not, because sitting in the heat and humidity would damage the unit over time, as well as make maintenance much harder to do for both us and anyone servicing the unit (not to mention the possibility for leaks overhead!). He took a lot of time going through our home to make sure we got the best possible option. Because our AC is in the laundry room, he was careful to check the measurements on our new washer and dryer to make sure we could lay the room out as we wanted without interfering with the AC space. The price was also very fair. We got estimates from a lot of places, and while he wasn't the absolute cheapest, he was less than the median price, and he was definitely the most knowledgeable by a long shot.
