They spent a good amount of time prepping, taping, and covering windows to make sure the job was done neatly. They also sanded peeling/chipped paint and patched holes in the stucco. They were respectful of our property and also our neighbors' property that they needed to access to paint the side of our house. Peter is very knowledgeable about paint brands, colors, and finishes. He had helpful recommendations for things we hadn't even considered, like painting the porch floor a lighter color to contrast the darker walls so it didn't feel like a dark cave and selecting a flat finish to avoid highlighting places where the stucco was patched. We hadn't picked all the paint colors before the job started and Peter stopped by on his day off on the weekend to share samples of paint colors that he obtained for us from the store. We really wanted a bright color for our door and even though it required many coats, Peter was willing to do the extra work to make the bright yellow look good. Peter was heavily involved in both overseeing his team and in doing a lot of the work himself. Every morning he met with his crew and gave very detailed instructions on exactly how he wanted everything done. He was on site for the entire job making sure everything was done properly. When they finished the work they did a good job cleaning up. Peter and the team were extremely responsible, honest, and very talented. The cost was reasonable considering the high quality of the work and craftsmanship. We were so impressed by the Final Coat Painting team that we highly recommend them to friends and would hire them again for future jobs!

They patched some large holes, repaired some sheetrock water damage, and even fixed the Caulk around a leaky shower door. They are truly a full service operation. They were prompt, communication is top notch (Hector actually answers the phone) and when we had a couple of issues they came right back and took care of it. All in all I couldn't be happier and I would definitely hire them again.

Junior was professional, knowledgeable detail oriented and patient. He took his time to explain each step of the process from the extensive prep work to actual painting. Junior also works with a carpenter who replaced a few pieces of fascia boards which were dry rotted on my roof. The carpenter was efficient and did a great job. Junior's Team arrived on time every morning and worked efficiently in preparing my house for priming / painting by carefully masking my windows, patio doors, exterior lighting, etc. before power washing my house. To my surprise, the Team even power washed the pavers around my house which was above and beyond! The Team primed then painted my house with my color palette to detail and perfection which came out amazing! They even helped me install my street numbers and mailbox and did an outstanding job cleaning up at the end. During the entire process, I never felt rushed and received a fair price for the project. The team arrived on time every morning. Their work is meticulous from start to finish. They began by masking off all the surfaces that would not be painted with paper and plastic protection. They took great care of our furniture, moving and covering it carefully. They patched all the cracks and imperfections in our drywall to create a perfectly smooth surface. Then it was time to prime and paint. Our team was highly efficient--I was surprised by how quickly they were able to complete the job without cutting corners or otherwise sacrificing quality. We ended up not liking one of the colors we had chosen, and Junior was able to get the team back the next day to re-paint that room. The finished walls are beautiful. He took my project seriously even though it was just a small office, and he went above and beyond working with his insurance company over the holiday break to make sure everything was in place so the job could be done on a tight timeline. His communication was prompt and clear throughout the entire process. Douglas was the painter who did the work, and he was equally great. He showed up on time every time we met, did an excellent job with the painting itself, and left the space clean and spotless when he finished. The room looks absolutely incredible -- better than I had hoped. For context, I reached out to four different painting companies. Only three even responded, and only one other actually showed up to give an estimate. Douglas arrived on time, prepared, and professional, which immediately set this company apart. Overall, they were reliable, responsive, and did beautiful work. I will absolutely use them again and will be recommending them to friends without hesitation.

He replied that he was "fully insured". I said that I needed to ask that because there are a number of companies that are doing painting work with worker's that aren't covered, creating a liability for homeowners. Jose left after looking at my house and I decided to go online to the CA State Contractor's License Board to check Samayoa's license status. This company is licensed for Painting and Decorating work, but.....has NO WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE. He has never carried this having stated an exemption because he has no employees. So.. I sent Jose and email asking him about this, as he did not say he does his painting solo. In fact, during our conversation, he had an opportunity to tell me if he works alone, but he did not. Instead of explaining any potential miscommunication during our conversation at my house, Jose just irritably said, "You can get someone else" and hung up. So...make sure that you verify a company does in fact have active worker's comp if they use anyone and if they don't have employees, make sure that they clearly state this and make sure no one else shows up. I'm just really disappointed in how Jose about this as he was dishonest with me. You can clearly see from reading other reviews that Jose does in fact have other people working with him. Too bad.

However, when I was a kid, my dad would take me with him to the hardware store, and I would get a lollypop while he and whomever from behind the counter would wander around looking for an eyebolt or the right shade of caulk. Giulio- who I assume is the owner, is easily 10 years older than my mom, who lives in the assisted living up the street. My mom can't be bothered to go to the chair yoga we're paying for, but Giulio went to work. He's not totally mobile, but he knows his s#!t. Whenever I come in, he or whoever else is behind the counter is happy to chat through my issue and suggest something. It's not a Home Depot- so they may not have what you're looking for every time- but they have a lot of things, and it makes me happy to know my money is staying local. Also, side story: One day during the summer, it's like 90, and I am behind a contractor who's getting a bunch of stuff - lumber, rocks...I don't know- but he's paying for it, and he grabs some water bottles for him and his crew and puts them on the counter. Giulio totals him up and says a number; the guy says, "Oh, don't forget these waters". Giulio says, "The town where I come from in Italy has the best water in the world, and it flows right off the mountain. If my father knew I was charging people for water, he'd come back from the dead and strike me down. Those are free." C'mon. How can you not go here first?

I recently hired Masterful Construction for a home renovation that included roofing, exterior paving, and a new BBQ area. Overall, I'm very satisfied with their work. Their roofing team impressed me the most. They faced some challenges with the old structure of my house, but they handled it professionally. They even finished a day earlier than scheduled, which was a pleasant surprise. The new roof looks great and seems to be holding up well against the recent rains. The paving work was good, but not without its hiccups. There were a couple of miscommunications about the design I wanted, but once I pointed it out, they were quick to make the necessary adjustments. The final result is a beautiful, sturdy stone pathway leading to my garden that I absolutely love. As for the BBQ area, it's now my favorite part of the backyard. They built a neat grill station with a small countertop for prep work. It's not overly fancy, but it's exactly what I needed. We've already hosted a few small gatherings there, and my friends were all impressed. The project management was decent. As first-time homebuyers who just moved to San Francisco, we had no experience with construction or remodeling. We were nervous about finding the right company since we didn't know anyone in the area to give us recommendations. So, we turned to online research and came across Masterful Construction. We scheduled meetings with four different companies, and Yuvi from Masterful Construction was the first person we met. Our bathroom is very small, so the job required removing the commode and vanity. They are absolutely the best I've seen at removing and replacing without scarring anything! Yuvi removed all layers of the old shower wall and carefully installed the new shower, allowing us to see/check in on the work as he completed steps to make sure everything was done how we wanted. Doron was the first contractor that I spoke with about my project, and was by far the best experience that I had. He took the time to really look at my space, listened to my needs and specific requests, and gave great suggestions on how I could improve it. After taking measurements he sat down with me for over an hour patiently answering all of my questions. This was my first time considering a major remodel and he was great at anticipating where I would need guidance. He also showed me various completed projects in his portfolio and I was so impressed with the quality of his work. I could tell that he really takes pride in his team and his craftsmanship. Doron was able to provide me with an initial quote on the same day as our consultation. I ended up with further questions and changes, and he graciously set up a zoom call with me to address them the following day. Out of all the contractors that I spoke with, Doron stuck out for being the most passionate about his work and also the most detail oriented. I really appreciated his honesty with me about what I could reasonably expect. As this was my first project, I didn't have a good idea on what to expect regarding costs. I didn't end up moving forward with Method Remodeling because of my budget, but would love to work with them in the future when I am better established.

The master bedroom was minimal with repaint and adding a wall of nickel-gap shiplap. We also added a barn door to create a dramatic separation between the bedroom and bathroom spaces. The big part is our master bathroom - this required a tear down to the studs of the entire space. We had to move a wall with power, HVAC lines and plumbing to create a pony wall for the shower. Rock Bay worked hand-in-hand with IDF Studio - our design firm - to install hardwood floors, a cast-iron tub, special Spanish tile, and Italian marble. Roei and Jorge and the entire team were artisans installing walnut wood beams in the ceiling, Calacatta Monet marble, Spanish tile, hand-crafted wood floors, designer niches in the walls, and all the professional design elements. The end result is a zen space that we will enjoy for the life of our home!
