Our…read moreold concrete slabs were cracked, and had shifted, altering the drainage of water to flow towards our house. After interviewing many landscape pavers, Ideal Engineering stood out for being prompt to all the meetings, willing to visit multiple times to double-check measurements before bidding and were knowledgeable on the current state of available inventory and which showrooms to visit to preview them. Prices were very reasonable and transparent. There were no unplanned mark-ups and all change orders were reviewed and had to be approved by me in advance, so I could budget accordingly. I think this is an advantage of choosing a local paver. The work was efficient and professional - different specialized crews for demolition, irrigation, paving, cleanup were used with their own knowledgeable foremen. Each foremen acted as an available point of contact and communication was easy and friendly. Any texts or calls were usually returned within minutes. The teams were proactive in highlighting any complications or issues that might require design approval to make sure the work they did matched what I had in mind. For example, Pedro, the paver lead felt it was better to create a smooth curve at a corner instead of a straight 90 degree corner, and he was right! The boundaries flowed smoother and nicer with the lawn. The paving work was top-notch. We had decided to install premium pavers from Belgard, and it was important the work was done properly for such an investment. This included grading at the proper slopes for proper drainage, adding weed-resistant fabric, multiple levels of graded stone for proper leveling and polymeric sand for good sealing between pavers. The team helped build custom steps that looked very nice to create easy step-downs and paver edging was done with great style and aesthetics. For a potentially complicated project, I really felt confidence in the team and the process. David also helped offer advise in helping me move and reset our external heat pump units so that they could be reinstalled on top of the pavers. They were able to build conduits to facilitate running irrigation and electricity underneath the pavers for adding drip irrigation of containers and future lighting in our garden. Cleanup was thorough, with parts of our yard reseeded and topped with new topsoil. There was no construction debris left on our lawn or streetside. Everything was swept up. Fence gates that were temporarily removed were re-installed to appear as if nothing ever happened. I would definitely use Ideal Engineering (Ideal Landscape & Concrete) again for future projects.

I reached out to about 10 contractors for quotes and Juan's bid was in the mid-range. From the first walk-through, he was knowledgable and asked questions to help me understand what my options are. Unlike some others, he was never pushy and that made me feel more comfortable about working together going forward. He estimated that the entire project (leveling the backyard, building a short wall, French drain, and adding gravel) would take 2 weeks and they finished ahead of schedule. I am so happy to finally have a usable, outdoor space! If I ever want to do more with the hill, I will use KB Landscape for sure.

The crew installed all the plants, decomposed granite, and irrigation perfectly. Our architect also commented that she really liked the crew and that Juan in particular was very knowledgeable. Not to mention Juan is just a really nice guy and was open to the small changes we had to make as we were doing installation. In total it took three weeks to complete the entire project. His crew was great and Juan also works with them, he doesn't just only project manage. He was here all day nearly every day with the crew. It's a small company but they do great work, pay attention to detail like grading, and clean up after themselves every day. They did such a good job, after he finished we asked him to help redo a fence later as well and also continue to come biweekly to maintain the yard.

Work began on time, with fully-equipped demo crews. Progress was swift: demolition, grading, drainage, pavers, fence, and pergolas took about 4 weeks. Project supervisors were in touch regularly to let us know what was coming up for the week - even letting us know there would be a lull for a few days when material was held up. Love the end result, would recommend.

Eric himself was professional, incredibly responsive and very easy to work with. It's clear he cares about the quality of the work, and he's not there to just "do a job" that you paid him to do. He'll make sure to ask questions and clarify things if he's unsure, and he'll look out for things that you won't have thought of, or suggest improvements. All of this was also done at a very fair price, and it was clear the team were doing things properly from getting a level foundation, laying down base rock, and cutting and laying pavers. Once we decided, Eric and his team got us scheduled in and he kept in touch with updates for me the whole time. He was always available if my parents had questions or wanted to tweak anything. Mid-project, my parents decided to change the color of the pavers (definitely a big ask), but Eric was really accommodating and made it happen before the rain started. I know it caused some inconvenience and even delayed another project, but he was understanding and didn't make it feel like an issue at all for them. My parents have been really happy with their yard and everything has held up great. I've even reached out for an estimate for my own yard this time! Overall, great experience and I'd definitely recommend Paverscaping.

However, when I was a kid, my dad would take me with him to the hardware store, and I would get a lollypop while he and whomever from behind the counter would wander around looking for an eyebolt or the right shade of caulk. Giulio- who I assume is the owner, is easily 10 years older than my mom, who lives in the assisted living up the street. My mom can't be bothered to go to the chair yoga we're paying for, but Giulio went to work. He's not totally mobile, but he knows his s#!t. Whenever I come in, he or whoever else is behind the counter is happy to chat through my issue and suggest something. It's not a Home Depot- so they may not have what you're looking for every time- but they have a lot of things, and it makes me happy to know my money is staying local. Also, side story: One day during the summer, it's like 90, and I am behind a contractor who's getting a bunch of stuff - lumber, rocks...I don't know- but he's paying for it, and he grabs some water bottles for him and his crew and puts them on the counter. Giulio totals him up and says a number; the guy says, "Oh, don't forget these waters". Giulio says, "The town where I come from in Italy has the best water in the world, and it flows right off the mountain. If my father knew I was charging people for water, he'd come back from the dead and strike me down. Those are free." C'mon. How can you not go here first?

I recently hired Masterful Construction for a home renovation that included roofing, exterior paving, and a new BBQ area. Overall, I'm very satisfied with their work. Their roofing team impressed me the most. They faced some challenges with the old structure of my house, but they handled it professionally. They even finished a day earlier than scheduled, which was a pleasant surprise. The new roof looks great and seems to be holding up well against the recent rains. The paving work was good, but not without its hiccups. There were a couple of miscommunications about the design I wanted, but once I pointed it out, they were quick to make the necessary adjustments. The final result is a beautiful, sturdy stone pathway leading to my garden that I absolutely love. As for the BBQ area, it's now my favorite part of the backyard. They built a neat grill station with a small countertop for prep work. It's not overly fancy, but it's exactly what I needed. We've already hosted a few small gatherings there, and my friends were all impressed. The project management was decent. As first-time homebuyers who just moved to San Francisco, we had no experience with construction or remodeling. We were nervous about finding the right company since we didn't know anyone in the area to give us recommendations. So, we turned to online research and came across Masterful Construction. We scheduled meetings with four different companies, and Yuvi from Masterful Construction was the first person we met. Our bathroom is very small, so the job required removing the commode and vanity. They are absolutely the best I've seen at removing and replacing without scarring anything! Yuvi removed all layers of the old shower wall and carefully installed the new shower, allowing us to see/check in on the work as he completed steps to make sure everything was done how we wanted. Doron was the first contractor that I spoke with about my project, and was by far the best experience that I had. He took the time to really look at my space, listened to my needs and specific requests, and gave great suggestions on how I could improve it. After taking measurements he sat down with me for over an hour patiently answering all of my questions. This was my first time considering a major remodel and he was great at anticipating where I would need guidance. He also showed me various completed projects in his portfolio and I was so impressed with the quality of his work. I could tell that he really takes pride in his team and his craftsmanship. Doron was able to provide me with an initial quote on the same day as our consultation. I ended up with further questions and changes, and he graciously set up a zoom call with me to address them the following day. Out of all the contractors that I spoke with, Doron stuck out for being the most passionate about his work and also the most detail oriented. I really appreciated his honesty with me about what I could reasonably expect. As this was my first project, I didn't have a good idea on what to expect regarding costs. I didn't end up moving forward with Method Remodeling because of my budget, but would love to work with them in the future when I am better established.

The master bedroom was minimal with repaint and adding a wall of nickel-gap shiplap. We also added a barn door to create a dramatic separation between the bedroom and bathroom spaces. The big part is our master bathroom - this required a tear down to the studs of the entire space. We had to move a wall with power, HVAC lines and plumbing to create a pony wall for the shower. Rock Bay worked hand-in-hand with IDF Studio - our design firm - to install hardwood floors, a cast-iron tub, special Spanish tile, and Italian marble. Roei and Jorge and the entire team were artisans installing walnut wood beams in the ceiling, Calacatta Monet marble, Spanish tile, hand-crafted wood floors, designer niches in the walls, and all the professional design elements. The end result is a zen space that we will enjoy for the life of our home!
